I'd actually consider marriage again if I could get a dresser like that as a gift! I love how the wood tones are slightly varied on the drawer fronts. Such a nice job.
I'm new to your channel and I just want to thank you for leaving the sounds of you working in the video instead of dubbing music over them. I find these sounds soothing as I watch and so many furniture channels us awful music
Absolutely loved the dresser after the tan wash with the yellow. What a meaningful and symbolic gift for a wedding present. The dresser and the couple are starting a new life together that will be cherished and enjoyed for many years and generations to come. What a beautiful job Lisa!
This is so beautiful! Friendly tip. I used to spray without a mask and then I ran my dehumidifier in the garage when I was spraying and I couldn't believe how much paint was in it when it was so far away from what I was painting. Made me realize I really need to wear a mask! save them lungs.
My husband and I have always been attracted to the darker woods, but there's something to say for that light color, especially if you do it, because it's really beautiful!
I am not a fan of this Pottery Barn look personally( my mom had a “blonde/ natural bedroom suit from the early 50’s when I was growing up and I never liked it! ). That being said, you Lisa, have such a gift and you did such a beautiful job I ended up loving what you did! As you said, it’s tricky….and I think many just don’t get it right. But then, you are the Wood Wizard! I love everything you do and learn so much. Thank you for sharing.
I’ll tell you a secret…I’m not a huge fan of it either. 😅 I love the richness of a darker wood color, but it’s what she wanted. I’m actually doing another one right now and went light with it, mainly because a darker stain would have highlighted the imperfections. Wood is weird 🤷♀️
I’m not the biggest fan of white washes but the tone you achieved with this is actually really pretty. I think when I’ve previously seen others do this technique they always go a little too heavy with paint-for my personal taste. However, what you did here really does look like light beautiful wood, not painted wood! Beautiful work Lisa 👏❤️
Love this! I’m getting ready to strip an antique dresser and was thankful to you for getting to observe all the steps you did. I’m going to have to mix the glue and sawdust to patch a couple of dents.
I love the tan wash but have not had good luck with it. I wind up using Au Natural gel stain from Dixie Belle. I never thought about adding yellow or green to help.
Wow! That was a LOT of work. Looks great! Do you have any tips on how to use a carbide scraper at the edge of the piece WITHOUT the tool slipping and gouging the wood?
My top tips would be 1. Sharp blade 2. Light pressure - if you’re blade is sharp you won’t have to use much pressure. 3. Use a full stroke and scrape off the edge. I’ll try to make a short on it. 🙌🏼

Ha!! Well, she did love it 🤣 Thanks Heidi!

Ha! Well, that's how I like it too! Music is hard to get right for a wide audience.
The love and attention you put into this was a pleasure to watch
Aw, thank you! 🤩

It took a bit to get there, but I loved the final product and more importantly they loved it too! ☺️🙌🏼

Oh gosh, I typically use my respirator. 🤦♀️ I can’t believe I didn’t have it on here.

My young customers seem to like the lighter woods, but dark woods are making a comeback!
That's lovely and obviously the bride was happy. Well done.
Yes, she was very happy 😊🙌🏼
You made it lovely. With all the work you put into it, she better be REAL happy!
She was thrilled! She said it was the best present they received. 🫶

Yeah, white washes and tan washes are tricky. I don't like them too opaque or it obscures the wood grain. Thanks Natalie!

Awesome! Good luck with your project!
That color wash really made it look natural and light! Love it!!!
I agree! I loved the tone.
That is a great gift. You did a really nice job, I love the raw wood look.
Thanks so much!
Gorgeous!! That is A LOT of work!!
Indeed, it was! 🫠 Thanks so much!
It looks like elm wood. Such pretty wood grain. You did a good job, love it!
Maybe! I'm not great with wood identification. It was lovely. Thanks so much!
Lovely light uplifting colour...best mid century makeover I've seen!!
Aw, thanks so much!
Turned out great and they looked thrilled
Thanks Cynthia! Yes, they were 😊
A big change! Great!
Definitely an improvement. Thanks!
Love the finished product.
Thanks so much!

Yeah, they are tricky. I've never tried the lighter gel stains. I know people love the Lilly Moon ones too.
Great color. Thanks.
Thanks so much! I liked it too.
Looks gorgeous 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Thank you!! 😊
Brilliant!!
Thanks sweetie!
Great job!
Thanks!
I love it!
Thanks! 😊
You did a beautiful job
Thank Debbie! 🤩
Amazing!
Thank you! Indeed!

That gorgeous wood would have looked fantastic with an oil finish like Danish oil or Odies.
Oh gosh, I know! This is what she wanted but I love the darker richer tones.
Love , love
Thanks so much!! 🤩🙌🏼
Beautiful
Thank you!
Beautiful! I hate sanding and there was a lot of it on this piece 😮! But it turned out amazing! 😊❤
I know! I took it one drawer a day just to help space all the scraping and sanding out.
That looks great and I’ll bet it took you hours to sand.
Thanks so much! Indeed it did! I would scrape and sand one drawer or side a day.
My darling, the drawer liners link is to the polyurethane. Can you send the link to the drawer liners? Thank you.
Sorry about that! Try this link: amzn.to/48eip3f
❤❤
Thanks Dorothy!!
I'd say the pale finish doesn't match the MCM style of this dresser.
It’s not my favorite, but it’s what she wanted. 😬
