I'm upset at the Giants for not taking a stance and voting no on relocation after releasing a statement expressing regret that the team was leaving which was very hypocritical. The worst part was taking the city of Oakland's leverage in negotiations away and putting them at a disadvantage to keep them for at least 3-4 more years by arranging for the A's and Fisher to play in Sac at Sutter Health Park for FREE. And throw in Manfred's "one time only" free relocation voucher & you get a day like yesterday 💔
I believe and looked it up to make sure the giants and bob Melvin both released statements saying they were disappointed in the A’s leaving and the situation..many point to the giants claiming territorial rights while the A’s were trying tho move ..and that’s true although I think any team may have done that..and the Fremont deal was dead before it even started from what I’ve read..there’s really only two people to blame the MLB itself and fisher..and of course the other owners and the owners of the kings
Don't blame the Giants, blame former commissioner Dud, oops, Mud, oops, Fudd, oops, Crud,,oops, Bud Selig. Commissioner Crud forced in Fisher as the owner because Fisher's junior partner Lew Wolff was commissioner Crud's buddy. The Giants were following commissioner Crud's orders
I guess having this whole region for just one team was too big of a piece slice for them to turn down, honor or not. Walter Haas was a true gentleman owner who put principles and fans ahead of the bottom line and did the Giants a solid when they needed it. One of the best owners ever!

This was a truly wonderful moment for all of us to be able to get a sense of connection to what it means to be human and a community of people who all want the same thing. Baseball means so much to so many people, me absolutely included. This really, really sucks for Oakland fans. There's no right way to go from here, but I hope that those fans are still able to enjoy the game that I love so much. I don't know who they should "root" for, when being forced to root for a team and an owner that snatched so much from you, but I hope there's still able to be those moments of happiness and bonding between fans, friends, and even random baseball nerds on youtube. You're a good dude Brodie, and truly one hell of a media presence. Being able to feel all of that emotion and be able to properly share it like you did here is something that's just flat out not possible for a lot of people. You and Bip did great. I do LOVE this channel for the wide variety of topics covered in a really good and in depth manner, but I also wish you luck on any TV-based venture you may pursue. I know you'll kick ass at that too.
This whole experience has turned me off the MLB alltogether, I am looking forward to a few Cal Baseball games this spring, but for the most part, without the A's as the hometown team, the light of baseball has gone out of my life. I look forward to returning to the coliseum for Pro Rugby! MLR expansion?
I'll always be enamored by the success of the Oakland A's. I've suffered through my whole life being a Mariners fan wanting to see just a small slice of success the A's achieved. They achieved real success through know how and grit; not just laying money down. Despite not spending, this year's team was still quite fun and talented. What a blessing to have a great fanbase to compliment the team. I hope you get your team back Oakland.❤

This was a great conversion. I think Oakland should help the Roots build a soccer-specific stadium on the site of the Colisum for a MLS expansion and possibly a football team from the UFL. I think the stadium plans are going to fall through in Vegas and MLB will have no choice but force a sale of the Athletics.
Brodie, you will be truly missed--NBC is making a huge mistake. I wish you nothing but the best in the future and hopefully you land here in the Bay Area so we can still be blessed with your being. Here's to wishing you and your family nothing but the best--cheers!
Dude, 95.7 went all out for the A's when 95.7 was the A's flagship. They had Billy Beane on weekly, did shows at the Coliseum for A's weekday home games, Townsend and Tittle headed a lot of the A's coverage on 95.7. Not sure what else you wanted 95.7 to do. The A's weren't bringing them ratings and were apparently hard to deal with. What else would you have done if you were on 95.7 at the time and they were the A's flagship?
@86byrdman You must have been listening to something else. In 2014 when the A's had the best team in baseball during the first half of the season, they'd talk about the Giants my whole 40 minute commute to work daily. They were the worst flagship ever
I hate the fact that Rob Manfred was so desperate to get a team into Las Vegas that he waived the relocation fee for John Fisher. Would Fisher have been so willing to move without that caveat? Perhaps, but I don't like what Manfred did at all.
Brazil biodie I'm sorry for your loss of your baseball team to Oakland Athletics I am from Dallas-Fort Worth I'm a big Texas rangers fan and a Houston Astros fan even though I don't live in Houston if I lost any of my teams I'll be pissed off too hopefully the Oakland Athletics listen and move back to Oakland if this don't pan out for them but if they do come back they need to get rid of John Fisher his management staff because this doesn't look good for MLB and just don't look good for the fan base either.
Shasky & Bonta will never think about the A’s again. They couldn’t care less. But that too is on fisher. It was dumb to leave the 95.7 contract. Def made the team harder to follow.
Until it can be proven otherwise: I refuse to imagine the possibility that’s John fisher can actually get the Vegas move completed. The only way it happens is when the other owners get threatened when fisher tries to renew the Sacramento field for an additional lease. Beyond 2028. Then the league gets involved and connects the dots because fisher will always fail unless somebody carries him.
For this 66 year old Cardinals fan, the A’s will always be Ricky being Ricky, Reggie, Vida, Rollie, Sal, and so many more. St. Louis has lost 2 NFL teams. Life changes. It is what it is. Enjoy the process. Be kind. Always. Have fun out there.
I’m a huge baseball fan , don’t get me wrong I would be super upset if my team left , but it wouldn’t rock my world since I rarely go in person anyhow (because of the outrageous prices ) I’m usually taking it in on the screen at home . Just my thoughts.
Warriors always wanted SF I'm Oakland before anything Mark got an offer he couldn't refuse in Vegas (750 MILLION public money) after being pushed out by Fisher and the A's. A's advertised rooted in Oakland and talked as if it were a fact they were getting a stadium.
The Giants screwed us on the handshake by Mr. Haas! He shook hands with the devil to keep the Giants in the Bay Area & now they helped stick it to the A’s and the deal with San Jose folded.
Giants don’t reciprocate when the Athletics are not trying to stay then the A’s blame the fans. San Jose territorial rights should have stayed with the Athletics.
That assumes they wanted to stay in Oakland. Fisher and the MLB hate Oakland and everything in Oakland and all the efforts the past few years were just a charade.
This should be a lesson to fans in cities throughout the country. Your team’s owner is not loyal to your city (or you). Why are you loyal to HIS team? White Sox fans learned this several times throughout the past 25 years. They still have a team, but they know the owner will bail on them in a Nashville minute if he gets a chance.
Ill never forgive the city of remont for allowing the A's to build a stadium there. no joke fremont council voted against it citing the field mouse population in the fields which are now built upon and those buildings are all warehouses and office buildings.
Smooth move Brodie. Insisting you live long enough to see the Oakland Coliseum and Howard Terminal sites developed would require you live 150 years. I’m actually all for that. It would be at least one positive thing to come from this giant pile of manure.
The Changing tides in what is considered a modern sport city and what happened when the printed media , true investigative reporters do not exist or will not hold their oath and do their jobs Their was a lot behind the scene the got Sports out of Oakland
Wait, wait, wait. They had nuclear testing there? Like actual mushroom cloud testing? If so, then why isn’t that whole area fenced off like Los Alamos. Even if the didn’t light off a nuke there, why isn’t that area completely fenced off?
These two clowns from the SF radio station have been bashing the A’s and its fans for YEARS…and to hear them feign sympathy in such an insincere way just trying to get listeners on a dying station…shameful…they act like before their new stadium the giants had these huge giant crowds… I’ll miss listening to you speak A’s though Brodie 😢
Brodie, you’re going to work for the giants… you’re all of sudden hanging out with Larry Baer and watching the game together??? Come on!! And Larry is going to use you to persuade A’s fans to become giants fans. Smh Brodie!!
I respectfully say this and I put no blame on the fan, but. In the 2000s and 2010s nobody was there unless they were competitive which I find bs. You can say the coliseum was trash players weren’t sticking around and whatever but still what’s with the wave of fans that show up when they’re good and now when they’re leaving. Just look at candlestick park even when the Niners were trash and it was still packed. So no I don’t blame the fans absolutely not. But I can’t say I feel sympathy for everyone that shouts for green and gold.
@@thinkersinker we’re talking about going to a baseball game not eating out at silver spoon spot. 2 very different things. And if you’re really gonna say the fan experience in the coliseum was poor than you don’t know the definition of a home is. Cause although yeah it was dated it needed a face lift. The fan experience was still acceptable. So it was an old stadium that doesn’t matter it was still fun and acceptable for fans. Just like Candlestick was as well.
You know why a lot of fans stopped showing up? Lowest payroll in baseball, trading away every home-grown talent fans have connections with, and yeah, also being a lying spoiled prick, of course we flipped him the bird
@@thinkersinkerThat’s facts that’s why restaurants/stores we grow up on go extinct and bankrupt and eventually become memories because they fail to stay relevant theirs something there.
Giants fans show up at candlestick? Probly more so when they were good. And what if the giants hadn’t signed bonds. Or traded Will Clark & Matt Williams & never had bonds. And what if while they lost all those players & played at the stick ,they were telling you they wanted to leave SF. Would you show up? Any A’s fan under 40 has only known that reality.
20 years.......... and NO ONE SHOWED up..... stop this. With New Markets that prove to have more Money. Salt Lake, Portland , Vegas, Nasville, and a few other locations that are Hotter Markets.... Oakland is dead... No owner would be smart to open a new team there after losing 4 pro teams.... just shows you something is wrong with the CITY....
All greedy owners, Skippy. Dubs sold out their last 8 years in Oakland. Tix crazy expensive in SF. Longtime fans gave up their tix. Raiders drew better last few years, hardcore following but they sucked. A's drew well when ownership cared. Look when Haas took over from Finley. Attendance increased 3 fold overnight.
You're not just wrong, you're HELLA wrong. If an owner of a Major League franchise can't make it work in this market, that owner is just bad at business. It doesn't matter where he moves the team. He'll be a relative failure.
There's a reason businesses bailed on Oakland, high crime, and 0 returns on investment.... so go ahead and keep on defunding the police in Detroit......eeeeerrrr Oakland
You don't have to stay ignorant. You can start to care if what you believe is true at some point, even if it means learning that people you think are cool are actually wrong. It's easy to shit on cities. It's easy to shit on people that care. It's not hard to dismiss what you're saying with even the basic amount of knowledge on either crime rates or the defund the police movement though, so I'll just feel bad that you felt the need to spread negativity for no reason than seemingly to get a reaction. That's kind of lame.
Moron, the police were never defunded, get off the propaganda. Certain services were moved out of their hands like dealing with mental illness issues. The crime issue is in cities nation wide yet the Mariners, Dodgers, Cubs, Yankees, tigers and so on are not trying to pack up and leave.
@@jasonvoss6559 problem is we DO research.. but you will ALWAYS clam it as false becuase that's what Dems do.. if you are wrong you are Right NO matter What.. I think the stadium plans are going to fall through in Vegas and MLB will have no choice but force a sale of the Athletics.
💚💛 Brodie for President 💚💛
Brodie, you will be truly missed--NBC is making a huge mistake. I wish you nothing but the best in the future and hopefully you land here in the Bay Area so we can still be blessed with your being. Here's to wishing you and your family nothing but the best--cheers!
I personally work right by candlestick at certain parts of the year and that whole area is really bad…
95.7 always ignored the A's. Horrible flagship. And Butcher Boy has no ground to speak on here
I stopped listening to those clowns years ago, thank God the future is beyond radio.
Yeah I know they always talked about the Giants.
The A’s are like our Black Bear Dinner that closed
Yup just like that black bear diner 😂
I hate the fact that Rob Manfred was so desperate to get a team into Las Vegas that he waived the relocation fee for John Fisher. Would Fisher have been so willing to move without that caveat? Perhaps, but I don't like what Manfred did at all.
Where can we find a list of employees making the change to sac and the ones that aren’t ?
Why do their microphones sound like cell phones? They’re almost unlistenable. This AM radio??
Probably because it was done through a phone patch. There's technical reasons why and I won't get into that here.
New team the Stockton Ports.
Oakland lost 3 teams !!! Raiders , Warriors, A’s …. Should not have happened. Something is wrong .
They lost 4 teams. The California Seals NHL.
Warriors always wanted SF
I'm Oakland before anything Mark got an offer he couldn't refuse in Vegas (750 MILLION public money) after being pushed out by Fisher and the A's.
A's advertised rooted in Oakland and talked as if it were a fact they were getting a stadium.
League and owners chasing dollars. Shame.
@@King10-lk6cu nobody cares about hockey
The Giants screwed us on the handshake by Mr. Haas! He shook hands with the devil to keep the Giants in the Bay Area & now they helped stick it to the A’s and the deal with San Jose folded.
Giants don’t reciprocate when the Athletics are not trying to stay then the A’s blame the fans. San Jose territorial rights should have stayed with the Athletics.
money talks
💚💛💚
Did it have to be a new stadium? They could have renovated the coliseum and built the extra infrastructure on the land for just a oart of the cost.
It should say finley and larussa ruined two dynasties.
U doing UA-cam full time
He's been putting up a lot of great content on all sorts of stuff. I actually found and followed him before I learned he covered Bay Area sports.
Oakland need NEW OWNER and back as to Oakland
Brodie are you leaving the sharks too?
Why didn’t Tom Hanks step in and save the A’s !!!
Because Fisher refuses to sell, and Manfraud won't step in
because fisher is stingy and isnt selling until if he moves them
Smooth move Brodie. Insisting you live long enough to see the Oakland Coliseum and Howard Terminal sites developed would require you live 150 years. I’m actually all for that. It would be at least one positive thing to come from this giant pile of manure.
When they fired Glen Kuiper, I was done with them.
Really, it took that?
The Changing tides in what is considered a modern sport city and what happened when the printed media , true investigative reporters do not exist or will not hold their oath and do their jobs
Their was a lot behind the scene the got Sports out of Oakland
To be fair a massive reason why they never redeveloped Hunters Point in SF is because the land is literally cancerous from nuclear testing during WWII
Wait, wait, wait. They had nuclear testing there? Like actual mushroom cloud testing? If so, then why isn’t that whole area fenced off like Los Alamos. Even if the didn’t light off a nuke there, why isn’t that area completely fenced off?
@@tigertank06 No they did testing on animals there, the animals obviously died, and they stupidly buried those animals there at Hunters Point
@@tigertank06 and good portions of it are actually fenced off, I worked on a doc that filmed some footage over there
These two clowns from the SF radio station have been bashing the A’s and its fans for YEARS…and to hear them feign sympathy in such an insincere way just trying to get listeners on a dying station…shameful…they act like before their new stadium the giants had these huge giant crowds…
I’ll miss listening to you speak A’s though Brodie 😢
Brodie, you’re going to work for the giants… you’re all of sudden hanging out with Larry Baer and watching the game together??? Come on!! And Larry is going to use you to persuade A’s fans to become giants fans. Smh Brodie!!
If the MLB tries to relocate another team again soon, like the White Sox, then this league is absolutely fucked!
No team is safe. I say move any and all teams just for greed and profit.
Only fools support teams that make no effort. Would you keep going to the restaurant that makes awful food?
Can’t wait until you figure it out
All greedy owners, Skippy.
How dare mlb take a baseball team away from us. I say dont watch any playoffs or world series.
Get off my mound
@robb912, you don't know what you're talking about. Do some research or shut your mouth.
Oakland has been having vary bad Crime Rates (More Not reported due to City not wanting numbers to go higher) there's proof online about this.. its Bad in Oakland.... but stay blind.
@@Bc232klm the bay area has shit on itself. Nobody is touching it with a 10 ft, pole. Hence, there is a mass California exodus of businesses and anyone who can afford to leave.
Go easy on us Dodger fans, Brodie.😜 As a baseball fan, this whole move is not right.💚💛🤍
