I just installed one of these in my 2017 forester. Thank you for posting your video, as it’s the only one that looks like a recent model of the head unit! Everyone else’s videos have completely different UIs and settings. Mine did not come with a manual of any kind. Did it mention anything about steering wheel controls?
@@TwoFourSevenDIY Sorry, I should have clarified. I did find the screen, but some of the buttons fail to set (e.g. I can only set volume up OR down, not both 🥲). Was just curious if there were troubleshooting steps in the manual. Thanks for the reply!
It sounds like a problem I heard about someone else had. They had the same problem and solved it by pulling the HU back off and pressing the main harness connector firmly into the back of the HU and pressing the plug thar connects the main harness to the factory harness firmly together. Seems like in their case, the plugs weren't completely seated, they were able to program all the buttons after doing that.
@@TwoFourSevenDIY I got it working 🎉. Checked the connections, they seemed okay. I had to like set a different button, then set the button I wanted and for some reason that fixed those few that wouldn't assign. 🤷♂.
I just got one of these radios and threw away the manual. Could you please share the factory code. The one fromtheidoing website says 6666 for qualcomm processers but that only enablesscreen capture
Save yourself the hassle and trouble and stay away from this company. - They ship incomplete products. (connector for reverse cam was missing) - They do not honour the warranty they claim to give you. - Their costumer support is flat out incompetent/fraudulent I have been trying to get them to replace the missing connector for 2 weeks. But all i got from them was a lot of questions and requests for fotos in order for customer protection to expire. And then they told me to buy a 35USD CAN-Bus adapter from them in order to fix their own scew-up. (and that even though my car does not even have CAN connection to the headunit) In short: worthless criminal shit-company
So far I've no complaints with what I recieved. Only issues is android auto connection issues on occasion but that's pretty much standard across the board for these budget android head units.
@@TwoFourSevenDIY sadly as described in original post i have had issues and decided that people have to be warned about this company. Because dealing with their "customer support" was the worst experience in my 20 years or so of online shopping. :(
@@TwoFourSevenDIY And going through the videos to spread the warning i have come across several other commentors telling similar stories so it seems i am not the only one ...
Good video. Thanks for making..
Glad you liked it!

I'm pretty sure there should be a setup in the settings to program the steering wheel controls
