About the Project:
Join me as we create a map rich with natural beauties, distant towns and a bustling metropolis. The aim is to create an island that feels as big as a state or territory, including vast biomes, mountains, rivers and an endless coastline. Set in Australia and New Zealand (maybe an island in between), this map takes inspiration from open world video games and the way in which the game devs create such immersive environments, such as GTA 4 and 5, Red Dead Redemption 2 and the Mafia 4 maps. To take it one step further, every thing on the map should feel unique and distinct. No city district, town or mountain should feel or look the same.

I'm not going to lie, the timelapse was breathtaking. Seeing how the city just grows out from this one central location with streets and neighborhoods being molded from their environment just felt beatifully organic. I absolutely love the timelapses!
Agreed. Now, I want to know how you accomplished this?! lol
Gorgeous builds - those stations were crying out for curved custom platforms and you delivered perfectly! Absolutely love the 45 minute build-cinematic hybrid too - great way to get a lot done quickly!
I think you also need to build a toll tunnel from the Freeway at Matilda Point that then turns to go to the Northern Suburbs of Dundee, like a bypass built a little later on, similar to the NorthConnex or WestConnex tunnels in Sydney.

Loved those timelapses, felt like you managed to get a lot of expansion done quickly, and beautiful stuff as always. Loving the return to Oceania!
Time lapses were all great but I loved the first one since it reminded me of a train station near me. It’s alway so satisfy to wake to an Oceania episode! There is also a beach in rosebud that is amazing and also quiet calm that has heaps of tourists but out the back of the bay there is a huge rock that has a huge deep(10 meters) pool under it and you can jump of the (8-15 meter) rock that there are nearly no tourist there.
I think you also need to build a toll tunnel from the Freeway at Matilda Point that then turns to go to the Northern Suburbs of Dundee, like a bypass built a little later on, similar to the NorthConnex or WestConnex tunnels in Sydney.
Yea the timelapses were gorgeous, and the music was great.
The 45 min timelapse was a masterpiece of footage and editing! Cinematic vibes!
I'm so happy to see this serie back ! (my favorite city)
I really love the Sim City 4 music at the beginning. Brings back so many memories 😍
I was going to comment asking if that was SimCity 4! Very nostalgic!
I always listen to the SC4 soundtrack when playing CS
Fun Fact if you didn't know already :
There is a mod that I descovered lately which allows you to use custom curated music playlists
This is unironically one of the best episodes you've made. The 45-minute timelapse experiment was complemented so well with the SimCity 2013 music (which as you said slaps) and it feels like the city truly is growing. Not to mention how much progress you've made in this episode, it's ridiculous!
Mate! Incredible. So happy to see this series getting some love again! Time lapses looked awesome.
I live in a neighborhood on the edge of Boston USA called Jamaica Plain theres an old mansion that they've turned into a community center, when I was a kid they would have movies on an old projector and they have markets year round as well as live concerts, on a hot day it's the most bustling place in the community. I think something like that in this small neighborhood or any other smaller areas of Dundee would really complete it.
This was an amazing episode. I just can’t believe it’s been such a long time coming - this series still feels like a new one to me.
Great episode and so good to see so much being built in one episode! I enjoyed the time time lapses (10/10 music) and can't wait for more. 😊
You should realy add in an abandoned mansion on the coastal cliffside just like the one in Sydney. ❤
Btw I'm glad you came back with the Oceania Videos
I think you also need to build a toll tunnel from the Freeway at Matilda Point that then turns to go to the Northern Suburbs of Dundee, like a bypass built a little later on, similar to the NorthConnex or WestConnex tunnels in Sydney.
For the commercial area surrounding the first station, I feel like some more modern apartment buildings adjacent to the train line would be realistic. You see lots of them in Sydney, even at some of the smaller suburban stations
11:11
You can construct a roundabout at the opposite end of that small bridge, with an on- and off-ramp on the hill side of the freeway.
Granted, that means you can only access the neighborhood from one direction, but that also means less traffic in the neighborhood itself.
The beach side off- and on ramp can be located at the end of the industrial zone, in the empty triangle bit.
The off-ramp can even be built over the train tunnel.
Amazing, might be my favourite video of yours and this says a lot!
The timelapses were incredibly well done. A lot of buildings plopped in, the necessary detailing performed and a realistic look achieved. Also, the music selection was chef's kiss!
The train stop name maybe is associated with some bar or restaurant very famous in the past. Maybe founded by immigrants from Europe so it can have some German or Italian name. Just a suggestion great video as always
And that is where I can step in:
Friedrich Müller was a German immigrant who came to Australia in the mid-19th century. He established a farm bearing his name.
When the railway came, the government needed a name for the station, and so they selected the name of the local farm and added -ville to it, making it Mullerville. The suburb grew up around it, as 2.20 said.
And so, over a century later, Mullerville, once the home of a small family farm, is now an inner suburban neighbourhood.
Deam that look gorgeous, watching people building like this in this game is my favorite thing !
Absolutely amazing! I love the railway assets you used, especially those tunnels. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to make a straight station without considering a curve again, as it seemed to turn out so much better with the curve. Great job!
Man you are great at making believable looking cities. Super talented.
The 45 min timelapses are awesome and some artful editing. Keep em! Great episode.
This is the first video of yours I watched, and I really enjoyed it! I love how you use real cities to inspire your designs! Can't wait to watch more.
Lovely time-lapses 😉 Your LUT settings are god like also, nice!
Very fun and relaxing to watch you build! Loved the music/Timelapse. Your video structure is very good.
Probably one of your best videos with the timelapses :) Very, very cool. And the music was spot-on, just fantastic :D
A name for the older train station / suburb would be :west Brandon.also u should add some type of historical bar / pub that has been there for decades or the whole suburb could be known for the bars
I really enjoyed this episode! the cinematic timelapses are super cool and a great showcase of your building proces!
I have to say, lately your videos are so good. Good structure, content... Great builds too, congratulations
This is one of the best episodes I have seen.
Sure the big infra episodes are awesome but there is something comforting about this episode, that train station and the whole city around it just so so so beautiful and not only that but also the decorationg process with the trees was just a sight to cherish.
also that transition shot of slowly zooming out was just perfection.
the 45 min timelapse was awesome! Love how you can see everything your're doing while still feeling like the game is in normal speed. Very cool!
Ohhh man those Timelapse shots are soooo good
I am really enjoying these timelapses, they seem to be just at the right speed.
@2.20, really with the Timelapse I got goosebumps! Your videos are so beautiful. The suburb Timelapse is great! Keep on making these beautiful videos! And the music… really hits! Love your work buddy!!! ❤❤❤
Those timelapses are amazing and same whit the detailing a name for the Quarantine center 'Orkney Housing Center' the name for the Orkney island is scotland
Love these videos. I studied abroad in Wellington for a year and this brings me back. Miss that place
Really loved the episode and the timelapses!
Does this mean you'll be starting another town soon in Oceania?
I'm curious to see what you'll do with the pink lake, and would love to see a Fremantle-inspired build
I'm down for the desert town!
You’ll never get something outside of Sydney.
I think you also need to build a toll tunnel from the Freeway at Matilda Point that then turns to go to the Northern Suburbs of Dundee, like a bypass built a little later on, similar to the NorthConnex or WestConnex tunnels in Sydney.
the timelapses are super cool! first train station looks so incredible! im definitely taking some ideas from it, thanks!
This is 100% the channel I’ll be watching when Cities: Skylines 2 releases. Your cities always look amazing and I love the stories you build along the way. You’ve also transformed how I build my own Cities and am now so much more excited every time I get a chance to play. So thanks for that.
I REALLY LOVE the Timelapse format for showing us the develop of some parts of the cities. As always you make an amazing job. Thank you for sharing it with us
the timelapses were awesome man, such beautiful neighborhoods! loved the beaches and custom stations
Great builds man especially the last station, it reminded me over stations like West Hampstead in London the over ground goes around the downtown. The cinematics were great too I feel like it fills up a lot of the map, the new Zealand homes worked perfect
I love love love the custom stations!! And the detailing timelapses are so great!
Love seeing you use the Otorohanga train station! We have so many of these along the old passenger lines through NZ
wow.. I just watched the first timelapse and I'm already completely speachless... absolutely amazing result and timelapse!!!
really an astonishing episode!
Hey Fremantle, my area! Glad to see you take inspo from here, it's a great town.
I think the way you integrated those stair paths to the stations was really nice. And the tunnel exit out from beneath the bridge is clever touch. Bonza.
Every video of yours makes me more and more excited for CS:2! Your builds are so beautiful and so cohesive that I'm excited for all the new things the sequel will offer that I'll be able to rejoin with
The production value of the video was fantastic - timelapses are gorgeous, your creativity is mind-boggling and challenges the viewer to try harder in their own efforts. Brilliant, thanks! (From the UK)
Really love those cinematic time-lapse building sessions, and the choice of music is great too!
Hands down one of your best episodes ever! Very well paced and amazing time lapses.
Gotta say, the video quality at this stage is on a different level of amazing. Utterly fantastic work.
So good. I love those little train station historical towns and you captured it perfectly. Always so much cool history that not many people know about other than those who live there. Keep it up, loved the time-lapses. They felt like the CS2 trailer which I’m thinking maybe you got some inspiration from their editing?
YES. My favourite series
the area looks great and that time-laps was so cool!
this was a great ep! love Oceania and the timelapses were beautiful
I'd name the neigbourhood smth like Mary Park, it just fits to it for me
as always, another amzing video. Loving the timelapse and new music. Kepe it up
Beautiful city but I stayed for the narrating. The video is extremely relaxing and the anecdotes and comparisons with real life places add to the immersion. Great content!
I wish I had just a smidge of your talent at creating real looking towns and cities.. Just amazing ! And your New Dollarton in the new game is flipping outrageous for just having the game for a short time to create such a large and intricate city. You really get a good look at all the detail during each episode of the game breakdown each weak! Just awesome
Thank you for the kind words my friend!

@@twodollarstwenty does the metro still exsist or was that replaced
@@twodollarstwenty I also think you need a separate light rail line in Matilda Point
Those timelapses were BEAUTIFUL
I LOVEDD THEM!!!
This would have to be Beecroft station, I grew up at Eastwood, schooled at Epping. Born in Katoomba and now live in Newcastle. Trains have played a huge roll in my life. Love your work👌💯
Awesome episode! Thank you.
That’s just astonishing to watch how huge and wonderful yours work, so continue pleaaase
And yea, soundtracks on the background it’s amazing 🤩
Amazing video as always mate! Always love trains more the better ❤❤
I think you also need to build a toll tunnel from the Freeway at Matilda Point that then turns to go to the Northern Suburbs of Dundee, like a bypass built a little later on, similar to the NorthConnex or WestConnex tunnels in Sydney.
Keep up the good work! Oceania is my favorite city!
Railways (and to some extent, highways) in Sydney originally developed along ridgelines that ran around the harbour and Cumberland plains. This was much cheaper than just flattening the land for rail. You can really see examples of this on the northern line around wollstonecraft, and up the blue mountains.
Would be great if one of your new train lines could be developed in a similar fashion. A more historic line that is not as efficient because it is following a ridgeline!
Great work 2D20 :D this is one of best part of city like in 5 years :) that i see
I love your vids and builds! Keep it going!!❤
This is awesome! I’m not sure if you have done anything like an observation deck looking over to the taller buildings from one of the taller bits of terrain but that would look cool, make it into a nature park or something
Love the small station, I think some of my favourite things are when you have to squeeze something into a really small space
Man i just love how you make everything look so natural. I understand why you got the job of doing the city for the cities 2 trailers. Everything you do feels so realistic. Can't wait to see you work on cities 2.
Thanks man!!

hi,
just went to Wimbledon and really enjoyed it. i belive that a big tennis ground with lots of different courts would fit in quite well.
Your builds are so so inspiring and just breathtaking, how much effort you put into detail, I really wanna learn how to do everything you do ❤
The condensed cinematics are great. Lovely reminder of the tons of work you put in, and we appreciate it!
In terms of visitors, I live just north of Washington DC. Museums and monuments are great but I always recommend people visit the parks in the area! Rock Creek Park is a huge area with tons of walking, hiking, and cycling trails. There are tons of wooded trails popular with locals especially if you like biking- Sligo Creek and Anacostia River Trail is a favorite of mine, the Capital Crescent Trail is good too. All paved routes through forested neighborhoods accessible by metro. DC is probably one of the better cities in the US and Canada too for biking in the city itself, with a lot of protected bike lanes and a cheap bikeshare system.
I think you also need to build a toll tunnel from the Freeway at Matilda Point that then turns to go to the Northern Suburbs of Dundee, like a bypass built a little later on, similar to the NorthConnex or WestConnex tunnels in Sydney.
im not gonna lie the music was so peacful it made me cry a lil first time viewer andamdefinetly dropping a sub great video man :)
I was amazed... by your editing. Keep it up.
In terms of that highway connection you were thinking about, this reminds me a lot of small towns near where I grew up around Kapiti, where new highway projects have only made the connections that were most convenient to build, letting traffic go along local roads to a bigger intersection if they want to go in a direction that isn't served by their intersection. Could also be the case here (maybe having easy access going away from the city but not toward, or vice versa)
Your city is stunning and the montage is magnificent! I love it😁
Yeah taking the Northern line from Central to Hornsby is one of the things I like to do in Sydney, it's a lot of fun going over the Coat Hanger XD
hitting close to home with the Q Station, i went there just a couple of years ago part of a modern history study in like year 11. beautiful place, beautiful view i really do love our country.
The neighborhood around the first train station should be called something along the lines of Barracuda Beach or something similar
16:00 I feel like a sports field would go nicely with that
I love the way you build, you make it look so realistic!
Nah man that’s mad I’m from central qld so happy to find an Aussie making city skylines vids. Super duper job amazing!
Incredible build! One of my favourite Cities!!
Looks great, really love how you have set up the timelapse. It's really nice to see that my assets are still being used today. I'm looking forward to CS2 and maybe trying to get Aussie assets into the new game as soon as possible.
Love your assets and would love to see them in CS2! Thank you my friend
ahw man this video is perfect, love the Timelapses please keep this kind of videos going cant wait for sunset city also
I really enjoyed the Timelapse!
I loved the timelapses so much!
Man, those custom train stations are one of the true stars of the series
😁 Funny you bring up Quarantine Station--I had just watched Decoding the Unknown's debunking video of it's haunted nature earlier. How topical. Good work as always Two Dollars
First I've seen of your stuff, now I'm floored! 1) 45-min lapse: GREAT and also a real headscratcher. 2) Ought to name it something like Canougha or Kiggawai. 3) Thanks for your content. :D
Oh man, those timelapses work so good mate!
Damn this timelapses are AWESOME! Please keep them in!
This is the best video you've made. Loving it lately
Great video and great detailing
9:29 that station looks amazing!
The suburb in the hills just reminds me of Kelburn and Northland in Wellington, which is really cool. Also mentioning the quarantine facility reminds me of the Somes Island (Matiu) quarantine station in Wellington Harbour, it was used to hold the livestock before taking it to the mainland and at the end of WW1 it was used to quarantine returning soldiers. Now it's a scenic and historic reserve with some breathtaking scenery. That could be something cool to incorporate into Oceania :)
I moved to Sydney two months ago and just did the Spit to Manly walk this weekend and it was amazing! It's cool to see you talk about incorporating these kinds of things into cities and see you actually build a small version into it. Would be cool to see a proper coastal walk in C:S!
I was channeling some of that walk in this build! Great bit of Sydney that walk.

This is a really cool style. I think the area nearest the hills could have a school complex or some other public services.
Damn that simcity 2013 music brings back so many memories. Amazing vid
