Many self-plopped buildings have a pathing space in front of them of somewhere under 2 tiles in length. If you place a road, place the building, and then remove and replace the road 1 tile away, the building will still connect. You can then fit whatever you want in that 1 tile space, including zones and footpaths, pedestrians can still walk to the street if they want. I find this useful for fitting footpaths in front of transit stations, to make ramps to raised footpaths more efficient. Sorry if this is known, I'm new to this place. Been only playing half or so as long as this guy, might spread around more hacks as I continue my own journey to 100% this game.
@@CaptainSpielt years spent well 😎👍 Unlike some other cities skylines youtuber that after all those years, still making blocky grid city😅. For example, i forgot the name, but it's that korean channel that always trying to make a super big city for every map. It's dumb. Big doesnt mean better. City need to be beautiful too😅. And especially, care about the topography(heights). But that korean channel get big views... Like millions. 😢 This channel(imperatur), cityplanner, overcharged egg, always be my favorite cities skylines youtuber.
@@DBT1007Load2map is the guy and yeah I understand what your talking about cities need time to be built, you can't build and entire city at once as irl this has almost never been successful as cities need diversity in the grid and symmetry makes cities look ugly.
Imperatur is truly the best at these types of hacks. These hacks are one of the greatest reasons why I love the cities on this channel so much. Thanks for sharing!
That trick for placing grid aligned buildings on curved roads is *really* smart! Even though I'm on PC and can use mods, I'll likely be using this in my cities from now on! very neat
I've been playing for about two weeks now and this is by far one of the most helpful tips videos I've seen so far (I've been binging a lot of them!) thanks! 🌆
You can rise the terrain, build the road, lower back the terrain and than upgrade the road, it automatically turn to bridge. I use that trick to build perfect simetric bridges.
Hey, thanks for this. I found CS later in its existence and am glad there are so many useful tutorials. I appreciate that yours are clear and to the point!
one hack i use sometimes when planning in sloped areas is to use the concrete or gravel paths in place of the roads so that i can still fix the terrain before i place the roads
If you build a cargo train station on a road then build another road that runs directly into the train station at the arrow when placing said station then delete the road you placed the station on the trucks will drive in and out without causing a traffic jam
If you are trying to connect one way roads that are one unit apart to a two way road and you want it to be centered use walking paths and so you can use road guidelines off the path to make the two lane road perfectly centered.
With the bridges, you can just build the road on flat terrain, lower the terrain around/under it, then upgrade the road to a different type and it will switch to a bridge of the exact same ship and the ground will disappear, works in reverse too if you want to get rid of the bridge
If a highway is funneling a lot of traffic into an area and causing traffic jams near the exit, placing a toll gate (with automated toll on) on the highway, somewhere before the exit, can help smooth out the traffic flow and de-congest the smaller intersections.
If you have a road but want an elevated highway over it use the terrain height tool on the level road and lower it down. after that the elevated road autonmatically becomes a bridge because terrain roads and terrain heights aren't equal. Also a good way to dump/take soil from is from under roads because the game will let you take it without changing the landscape because there is a road above it. Just be cautious when removing that road because then there will be a massive hole/mountain.
So first off, I love your videos on here, so much great information! My concern is with the raised highway section @ 2:13. I’ve raised it by 3 small increments and made the dirt level with the now 9 meter high road. Everything is fine until I flatten the area underneath the new bridge and it’s acting like the bridge is too low, and won’t let me build it (red color instead of blue). I tried 4 small increments and it worked but I feel this wouldn’t allow me to properly construct a coherent network based on the 9 meter height of the rest of my city. Any help would be appreciated ❤ I’m on Xbox Series X so Vanilla is all I have 😢😅
Awesome video ❤ Looks really realistic 👌 Thumbs up as always :) I am from Nigeria and I would like to build the Nigerian National Bank. Could you do it in the next video? :)
Placing ferry stops and quay walls. Omg took me so long to figure out how to place them. Ferry stops snap to road height. So place a road and snap the ferry stop (looks like it doesn't but it does). Placing quays is easy enough, but adding roads next to it. You need to push the terrain out past the quay onto the water and then place the road to the same height as the quay.
Lmao, wasn't expecting my logo to pop on the egg-about 🤣 Great tips bro! Thanks for putting them all into one vid
The bruh moment 😂
Saw that, cracked up 😂
Bro is casually dropping the best CS content on youtube
Wow haha thanks bro!!❤️❤️

I have an idea : Can you make a detailed race track that ACTUALLY have FIA grade 1 standards?
Oh yeah i would love to!🥺

Well it would have to be a bus race, but that sounds fun.
A great video! Your explanation of the different road hacks is easy to understand, well done!
Thank you:) i‘m glad to hear that😋
This makes me really appreciate Move It.
Hahah yeah 🥲
You know a little too much about this game hahaha

This is just beautiful. Cutting, concept and the funny remarks: 5/7 would watch again.
Idea: add rest areas on highways. You build the layout and then you zone some squares with com-zones.
This is truly amazing. I've been playing this game for years and watching UA-cam videos. You are good my friend. Truly.

Good reminders🎉
That highway ramp at the end ive never thought about doing, I've done tonnes of more complex but thats awesome 😂😂😂
Instant sub here. This is fantastic for a new player who’s just learning the game. My thanks for the great info!
Wow thanks! Great attention to detail. Im still working out the basics but the road hacks are very useful in getting things symmetric!
Oh look! Now we can build Times Square!
No because it breaks the zoning there would be only 1×1 buildings
Nice video!!! Thank you for this beautiful content!
Thanks for watching bro!:)
Woot, I'm glad i dared to ask about it! Thank you so much, now i can watch and learn!
Happy to help!
