Such a beautiful video! I love that you showed the full extended process instead of cutting it into separate videos. Most people wouldn’t take the time to do that but I really appreciate that!
It’s crazy because they aren’t Rare they are just in high demand they can’t grow them fast enough, I just got mine from New Life Tropicals, And it’s nice size ! , still cheaper with the shipping and Phyto than here . I hope u find one 💕🍃
Sierra Baby I know! I saw a bunch at my local nursery that were pretty small but all of them were reserved already. Hopefully the hype dies down so I can finally have one 😂 glad you were able to get one 💖
Wooow just found your channel and I love the updates all in one video. Can't wait to see more updates! If you do cut it up can you show the whole process as well as what rooting hormone you use if any? Excited for more of your videos 😌
Will do!! I am probably going to cut it soon, the latest leaf was not so hot. I actually don't use rooting hormone. Do you have a product you recommend?
your pink princess philodendron looks so beautiful i have a rojo congo philodendron what i do know is that you should let the soil completely dry out before watering and it is best to soak the soil thoroughly and then allow it to drain. keep it out of direct sunlight too. it does need light but not direct sunlight. looking forward to seeing your philodendron growth.
Thanks for the advice! My pink princess is pulled back 3 ft from the window to prevent sun damage. I do find that they like some direct light to encourage more variegation. My Florida ghost is the same. 🙈🙈 Rojo Congo’s are beautiful!! I’ve seen a big one at my local shop and it was stunningggg ☺️💚
I’ve watched at least 20 videos on PPPs and how to care for them. I wish I would have found this video before watching all the others!! So helpful! Thanks!🙏🏼
The drama in day 44 I’m here for it 💚💚 editing is perfection. I’m waiting to get a PPP so thank you for making this video. And because you asked for opinions, I would put it on a moss pole I wouldn’t cut it yet :)
2 years after this and I recently found a PPP at my local Kroger grocery store for $30. It has some pink sprinkles but not much so I recently chopped it at the top by a node with a lot of pink striping. I wish I had seen your video a few weeks ago, I have it in water to root now. I don’t have roots but the nodes are about a mm longer. (Yes, I check daily. Lol). I was so afraid I’d killed it. But hopefully I’ll get a pinker leaf soon. 🤞🏼🤞🏼
Beautiful Princess 🌱💕 ! I recently finally got mine after waiting 3 months for a Thailand order , because of the pandemic. I’ve done a lot of research on this plant and I’m surprised it wants to stay more on the Dry side , let it dry out . I haven’t had mine long enough yet but I have it under plant lites and a humidifier. Good draining soil . So far So good I also heard good lighting is key , 👍🏼for the Pink . I’ll be back to see how yours is since we got them close together 💕🍃 I am Not Chopping anything off Anytime soon . I got my info from Legends Of Monstera channel when he visits a couple who has a giant PP - let it dry out she stated I enjoyed this vid so much 🤩🍃💕 You’ve done an amazing job
Wow I always wanted to order internationally! Did your PPP suffer any damage? You reminded that I forgot to mention that I had it next to a humidifier in my new place too!! So I think that also helped a lot. From what I’m hearing, I’ll keep it in moss and then chop it up when the new leaf unfurls! And I have to check out that video from legend of monstera.💚💚💚thank youuu
Could it initially be the soil?? I would've started it in just moss. I received on with 1 aerial root and it's in moss but your lucky to have more than 1 node. I only got 1 node 🙄 so I only have one shot.
Great video awesome job bringing the reverted plant back I want to buy a reverted pink princess cutting and try this out myself . Try using a fine mesh netting instead of the plastic it will allow you to water more efficiently I believe.
I don't know what I would do because it's so beautiful I would be scared to cut it up but you have to. I believe your going to have 5 beautiful plants afterwards. Well I can't wait to see how it all turn out but do believe it will be spectacular !!! Loved your video Thank you 😊😊🙂
😍😍😍 it is beautiful. The Roots are long , it is time to chop it up and put them on moss poles. Im sure it also likes the humidity that the plastic wrap and moss provides . maybe with a combo of a moss pole and humidifier it will give similar results ? I don’t know lol I find if you get the moss wet it is easier to take the moss out. .
So I have seen tons of videos of people actually making a cut into their stems for air layering and I see you didn't do that. So that's not absolutely necessary to air layer? And I'm also looking at my own PPP and I'm only seeing minimal bumps AKA nodules up the stem so should I still go ahead and try to air layer? I can only see probably three different bump spots going up between each node. Maybe I should still give it a shot anyway?
Thanks for giving me the courage to try this! My PPP has been shy in giving me pink variegations! It keeps on giving me new leaves, one after the other, but not so much pink variegations. I’ll try this method over the weekend and hope for the best results! Thank you!!
Wow!! Amazing deal! I just got a very big, mature ppp but I was not so fortunate with the price. I got mine for $400, but it was marked $500 so I got 20% off during a 2 day sale at my local nursery. Regardless of cost, I feel she is totally worth the money and I am so happy with her!
@@FelineJungle yes and the fact that it was slowing down and growing smaller leaves, and then you helped it and suddenly it popped out a big and very pink leaf! Good job!
Put her on a moss pole. The moss pole will act as an extension of your growing medium. Keep it damp and fertilize the pole as you would your plant. She will grow into the pole giving you a bigger healthier plant. She will draw in water and fertilizer from the pole as well as her "soil" roots.
Would this still work with a wooden pole. ?? Well like a stick type thing I have around the house frm taking my son's bed apart. Was thinking about trying to stake my ppp up tmre

I think so as long as its medium that retains some moisture. But i think it would be harder to wrap around because the particles are smaller. let me know if you try it!
I just got one for $20 at my local grocery store here in Canada about 4-5 months ago. There's a bit of pink but I deff want more. Thinking about putting a wooden pole thing in for it to climb up. Some ppl say cut it but I'm not ready for that. His video deff blew my mind tho when that all pink leave came out wooow 😍
I’m thinking I want to try this out my PPP and see what happens, I didn’t end up with the greatest cutting to begin with 😪 unrelated but where did you get that pink dress at the beginning?!
I use rockwool for my philies and plants with air roots. If you ever want to come off a cutting my cat and I would greatly appreciate it. That's a mouse full, have a mice day!
I bought a lovely PPP from a reputable store in NY from their website... (you know them!) I love it but the prettiest leave was damaged and I lost it. Well the next leave tried to come, but it was stuck inside the cataphylls. It was trying so hard to come out of the bottom for so long that there was actually another leave tip starting! Well i unstuck it last night. It's going to be beautiful!!! I just hope I didn't damage it. My burgundy also was stuck with 2 leaves! Does this happen a lot? Loved your video! Will have to try air layering!
I think you over water, and keep your soil too wet. Put a pole in the pot and let it climb, get rid of the moss on top of the soil. I would repot and add orchid bark and leca balls to the soil mix. Once the aerial roots can climb the pole the leaves will become larger. Your plant has many green leaves, you don’t need to worry about more pink at this point.
I just searched for pink princess daily on the FB market. 😅 They're becoming more available and affordable in plant shops in New York. I saw them at Chelsea garden center, Nelly's Flower Shop, Da Hing Plants and Greenery Unlimited. Just to name a few! Hope it helps!
That’s what I hate about spag hard to get it off the roots. I think you could have put the whole plant along with moist soil in a large ziplock bag to encourage more growth. But then what, no fun keeping a plant in a plastic bag. You could get this mini greenhouse from IKEA I think they still sell it! ua-cam.com/video/IDYHtEV3A28/v-deo.html
Oh I saw that at IKEA! I should’ve got it because the last time I went they were sold out. I just got a glass dome. I’ll see if I can put it in tonight. 😀

Thanks for watching, a new video on its development coming soon 😸😸
One thing I had to learn very quickly was the Variegation in the pink princess needs a lot of light in order to be vibrant.
Yes! I recently moved it to my growlight. hoping for more varigation

It certainly will! Even a plastic bag will do it

Sticking is common in PPP. I find misting the stuck leaf with water helps it.
How often do you take out the plastic wraps?
Usually the roots will poke out and the plastic wraps will get loose. But I only take them out whenever I want to.
Misting it is a bad thing I learned. It can block it from being able to photosynthesis
I would leave it like it is. Wow
