Really appreciate your updating your progress through the whole video. It can be frustrating to see a propagation and then not to be able to find the update! And your babies are too cute🌸
The original big leaf that was attached to the stem is actually the one that gets energy for the new baby leaves. Bigger the leaves the more it photosynthesise and gets more energy.
At the same time the big leaf will also use the energy from the roots to support the big leafs so the energy is kinda splits between supplying the big leaf and the new set of leafs while the root system is barely stablished ...
Dear, if U had proped them in Pumice, I bet they would have grown faster. I have personal experience from Soil to Leca to full Pumice... all plants. Pumice is definitely the one. But I am so Happy to see the New Pink Leave.. Happy for U too. Great Blessings 😊
My PPP, unfortunately, fully reverted but after seeing videos that fully reverted plants may have their variegations back, I am chopping it for that chance. Wish me luck. 🙏
So happy watching your propagation. 🥰 🙋Also obsessed here on propagating plants and discovering their new formation 🙋🥰 all the way here from Philippines provinci of Bukidnon 🙋🥰 God bless
This gives me so much hope my Pink Princess has no pink either but since I’ve put her on a moss pole her new leaves are much larger but still no pink yet I just might convert her to leca see how she does than give her a chop just to have multiple plants. Thanks for sharing 💚🌿
If you will blot your cuttings until the sap stops leaking and then dip in bees wax before you move to water or leca / what ever substrate you will have less problems with rotting.
I love your channel. Because of you. I switched everything to leca. I do exactly what you do.... and my babies are thriiiiiiiving! Thank you@! I tell everyone about you!@@@
haha might be a little longer. I feel like the cooler temperatures/less sunlight has slowed down the growth process 😂. Will definitely post an update when there's more growth!!
Haha right? It's definitely a risk! To update you, the second leaf coming out of the plant that has a lot of pink unfortunately only has a small speck of pink. We'll see I guess. Good luck if you're propagating yours! 😃
Loved this episode! Makes the idea of chopping up my albo (the last leaf was all white) a little less terrifying 😂 I’m going to give it more time to see how much white is in the next leaves though.
So I wasn't looking for this but glad I found this. Can I pleaseeeeeee see where you keep your cuttings? I need to know lighting and temp if a heet mat is involved. I'm so scared to kill my cuttings I spent a weeks rent on it. Pleaseeee help me
Hey I'll give you a quick run down: Temp 60-75 degrees F, humidity 45-60%, 6-8 inches away from a grow light for 14 hours, I don't have a heat mat and have no experience with one.
Haha I have a video coming out tomorrow where I show you updates from a few of my plants. The pink princess is towards the end. A little disappointing 😐🤣
OMG my first vid of you and I am smitten!!! Ciao from Rome! Do you use only leca for the Princess? Does it need a humidifier and a grow light during winter? I am a newbie, my friend sent me a small pink princess and I am not sure what to do with it when it arrives. 🥴
HELLOOOO 😀 My pink princess' are all in LECA but I had this plant for 6 months in soil and it did really well! This plant doesn't need a lot but I would definitely put it under a grow light during the winter months. This philodendron does not need a ton of humidity. It would probably be happy with 40-50% humidity.
Wow I’m so glad that it worked out!!! Can you maybe do a leca tutorial? I want to try it but am a bit nervous. Also where did you get those pots from? And quick question did you put the cuttings straight into water right away or did you use a peroxide mixture and let it callous before hand?
Hey Joshie! I'm super behind on filming LECA videos 😬 BUT I do want to make that a goal for 2021!! I promise you that it will be coming soon. I got the pots from Amazon (T4U self watering planters), they have 2 sizes. I don't let them callous over but definitely something I would recommend (I never had issues). I use plain old tap water in this video but I do use rapidstart from General Hydroponics sometimes. I hear good things about using peroxide but unfortunately I don't know much about that.
@@kevin. all good I was just very curious to propagate my pink princess myself but wasn’t too sure about it since I purchased cuttings online and had no success. I did give my mother plant the chop about a week ago and am hoping for the best. I did let it callous over fro a few hours and am trying the sphagnum moss in a baggy method. Pray for me since I was gonna wait for warmer weather but my apartment stays fairly hot lol. I did get a humidifier too so that should hopefully help
Also, I thought you had left some leaves on the mother plant, but am I understanding correctly that the “stump” with the teeny tiny leaves was the original plant? If you, so you are incredibly brave lol!! Out of curiosity, if you had left some leaves on it, would it start pushing out new growth anyway like a pothos or a heartleaf philodendron? I don’t have much experience with propping PPP (read: none) but I have lots of ivy and have noticed that when one is injured and I clip it then it starts getting new leaves down lower on the stem. Is it the same for a PPP?
I recently started using lecca and then using it to immediately propagate. Why did you not start out in lecca? Curious, because I’m new to all of this 🪴💚
I’m getting a cutting soon!! Do I just put it in a cup of water?? How much water covers the bottom of the cutting and how do I use Leca? Completely new to plants and don’t want to kill my cutting. Please help!
@@maimai-mo1gb Hey! I was going to do a 6 month update (which would be in 2 months 😅) There hasn't been any spectacular growth since then. Little pink here and there. Actually, I have a houseplant tour coming out next week in 2 parts. I'm pretty sure I show the plant in part 2 briefly. So If you want a sneak peak then check that out next thursday! 😁
Hi! I just watched this May 2021! Do you have an update with the half moon pink leaf??? Also, what do you use as a fertilizer when you propagate in leca? Thank you!
Hey Mary! I was thinking about doing an update soon but there's not much to show. Definitely a lot more pink than before but not a ton. I show this plant in my most recent houseplant tour (part 2 I think) if you want to see it! I use a 3 times diluted nutrient solution with RapidStart by general hydroponics
Hello fellow Torontonian!:) LOVE LOVE LOVE this video! Thank you for posting it and providing so much detail! I have a question for you: I have a PPP that I think (hope) is rooting right now...however, some roots are white versus some are pink. Should I be worried? I have gotten attached to my cutting and have even named it lol.
THANK YOUUU! So cute what did you name it ☺️? YAY TORONTO ❤️ hmmm I've experienced more dark pink roots so I'm not sure 😕 are they perhaps finer root branching/root hairs coming off of the main root?
That plant is beautiful im trying to root a pinkie right now. I tried to start it in dirt. It started drooping so now it's in a small vase of bottled water. Wish me luck.
Actually, the cute smallest leaf one that I showed is the mother plant since I chopped off all the leaves. She seems to have a slow start 😂. However, usually in my experience, they pop out new growth quite rapidly because of their health root system.
@@kevin. omg that’s so adorable I had no idea ! Thanks for letting me know, I have a pink princess myself and have been worried about getting cuttings. It’s definitely my fave plant right now haha

Stumbled onto this video and I’m so glad I did! You spoke and explained everything clearly and with a personality that keeps me engaged! Great job!
Lovely plants you've created from your cuttings. The process is always so much fun isn't it! 🙂
Omg I just did this with mines And all of the cuttings took. PPP grows so fast I’m very happy with the results
I'm so happy to hear that!! That's always nice seeing the success of propagations 🪴💚

I had a cutting that didn't root for 6 months. Now out of no where its finally doing what I need.
Wow finally pink leaf is formed!
So glad you didn't chuck this plant. I like it. The babies look sooo good! 😁

Might be a dumb question, but how does the mother plant look? Does it get any new growth after being cut?

Never understood the hype of the PPP. I like the white knight or princess. White variegation 🙌🏽
I do love a white variegated philodendron. Yeah I was kinda over this pink princess 🤣
Hi! When you transferred it to Leca, did you put plain water inside it or did you have nutrients in it as well? Thank you! 😊
wow that LECA save made this video so worth it. *instant follow* thanks for propping :)

How are you baby princesses doing now? It’s winter time here in the UK and I’ve just chopped up my PPP few days ago.
They've seem to slow down quite a bit. Nothing really spectacular yet. I will probably post another update when there's substantial growth. 😊

I’m curious how rooting hormone would affect their root growth.
Yeah I'm not sure either. For all I know it could be a placebo 😅😂

Do you have it under a grow light? The higher light may bring out the variegation.
