Hi Courtney I wanted to thank you for showing Briogeo Charisma gel in previous video. I tried so many hard gel, nothing worked Briogeo Charisma gel is AMAZING my hair went from 2a to 2c WOW. Thank you so very much. PS I am from Québec Canada 😊
I loved this two part series. Need a good clarify and deep conditioning session. I’ve got a deep conditioner on the way, I just need to pick up a clarifying shampoo.
Loving your step by step videos! I'm letting my highlights grow out and embracing my grey hair....still working on the conditioning step to deal with those coarse grey hairs 😊. And love the Curlsmith line ❤
I’ve only just heard of halo frizz but I affectionately call it my lion’s mane. Lol I started actually adding my leave in conditioner to my roots and it helps SO MUCH. I officially started this method on December 31st, and my hair retains curl even if I don’t put stylers in and scrunch my hair and let it air dry overnight. Also, I would love any drugstore/Walmart heat protectant recommendations!
Perfect timing. I've been searching for a new, strong protein treatment that doesn't require a lot of pre-shower prep to use (thanks ADHD) and now I can try the Pattern mask.
I love the Pattern Treatment mask. I have 3b hair with a tighter curl pattern and it provides elongation and enough moisture for my needs. I don't think you have to use a mask for moisture unless you want to, as per suggestions on the label. It's an interesting scent that I can't quite describe but I love it. I used it with my Tangle Teezer for curly hair and my hair felt like a dream and after rinsing it out, my hair felt amazing. The Briogeo mask is a longtime love of mine.
I am blessed in that I don't get a lot of tangles. I usually only have to run my fingers through a 3 or 4 times and it's detangled! I used to have super tangly hair and then I started the wavy hair routine and it slowly got better. Coincidence maybe? I dunno! But it's one of the things I have loved about going wavy!
Ok so I “deep conditioned” for the first time EVER last night. Also the “” marks is because i don’t have an actual deep conditioning mask I diy one using 2 eggs (for protein), 4 tablespoons of Mayo (tbh i wanted to use coconut oil but the one I had expired months ago so i threw that away) , generous amount of honey (I heard honey is good for curls) a dash of olive oil and a pinch of ground cloves. (Idk what cloves did i just added it in for no reason) Ok for the steps first being a Swavy hair girlie by day 4 I have the ability to dry comb my hair and my hair doesn’t become a giant puff ball. Also I try to only apply curl enhancing products on wash days. Like I have to wear my hair up for work so I don’t refresh my waves on days that I work. So after dry brushing I wash my hair with clarifying shampoo leave it in for a minute or two, apply the diy deep conditioner mask all of it. Now using a plastic grocery bag put my hair in that (I don’t have any shower caps) to secure the bag I plop my hair. I recommend using an old t shirt cause some of my mask did get on my shirt. Marinated for 30 minutes rinse it out. Apply regular conditioner scrunch to condition the conditioner. Plop my hair using a different t shirt overnight. Disclaimer because I deep conditioned i didn’t use any curl enhancing product yesterday other than the diy deep conditioning mask.
Hello from Germany. Thank you so much, for showing and explaining all the needed steps and related products. I assume I need some deep conditioner with Keratin/ Protein as well. Now I will dive into the www to find a product here in Düsseldorf which comes as close as possible to your recommendations. I am really curious ablut this black "tup" called pattern curl treatment or so.....Thanks again and have a nice day, best, Petra💃🏽🍾🥂🥳👍😘
How about using a semi permanent colored conditioner such as Manic Panic, Arctic Fox, or Lime Crime? And how about Henna? I LOVE your informative videos and your beautiful curls! Please, any advice?
Hi Courtney! How do you decide what deep conditioner to use after your clarifying wash? I struggle with this question . I tried the strand test but not sure about it.. also if the deep conditioner has protein in, but not too high up, maybe at nr.10 or lower in the ingredients list, would this be considered a more balanced type of deep conditioner? And would it be ok to use something like that every time I deep condition? If hair feels dry after clarifying should you just use moisture or how do you know when to use a bit of protein? This confuses me, please any advice would be so welcome!😊🌻
Protein snack 😂😂😂 I just love your sense of humor! I have researched how to make a thermal hair cap. As soon as I get my machine back from being serviced, I am going to make one. My hubby suggested I not spend money. Couldn't I just use the heating pad? 😂😂😂😂
@@SwavyCurlyCourtneyrelatively easy to make. A bit of a pain sewing the flax or rice into pockets all over the cap so the seeds do not shift to the edge. Tutorials on UA-cam.
Pattern one brand wash day soon?! I wash every 4 days and clarify every other wash., but always double cleanse every wash. This is how I can manage not to wash every single day.
Wonder if it has the wrong protein for your hair? I’m trying it for the first time today so now I’m curious what it will do! My hair gets dry with certain protein products too.

I am so lost. In one video you said you wash your hair 2 times a week and that you categories it in 2 "buckets". Clarifying cleanse and deep conditioning. Break it down easier pls!! How does your week look? How often do you clearify and between washes how do you treat your hair so you dont get build ups? Whats the difference between deep conditioning and just regular washdays? How often do you deep condition and WHEN? Im having a hard time understanding because you talk a lot 😂❤❤ pls break it down for me. Your whole month and weeks and days. Just in order so i know how to treat it and not just do everything in one lump because i dont know when to do it
I totally get that figuring out a curly hair routine can be confusing at first! It’s important to remember that there’s not a one-size-fits-all, plug-and-play routine that works for every single person. I personally adjust how often I clarify, deep condition, and wash based on what my curls need at any given time, and you might need to do the same! I’ve shared quite a few videos on my channel explaining clarifying, deep conditioning, and how to create a routine that works for your specific hair. I’d definitely encourage you to check those out for a deeper dive! 😊 With time and experimenting, I’m confident it’ll all start to make sense!

I wanted to love curlsmith so bad but something in their products make my scalp Itch like I'm allergic to something in it 😭
I've tried almost everything from their lines, but Curlmith does nothing for me. I also can't stand the smell.
Me too! And I had excess hair fall.

Hello Courtney, The shea moisture yoghurt contains wax. This is not CG.
We don't really worry about that around here 😊😂
@@itsnotrounditsapyramid Really? Strange. Because wax is not water soluble you would need to do a final wash everytime you use it.
@@anitalenssinck-kroon2831 well, that's what emulsifiers are for? Anyway I was just answering your thing about it being CG, Courtney doesn't follow CG
I find a good hair mask at Sally's is sauce super moisturizing it is amazing 😊 it helps

Checked ur product area ,& did not find out the heat cap info. What is the brand of ur heat cap?

They are not just expensive. I got water on mine and when I microwaved it, it caught on fire. I bought a replacement on Amazon for really cheap

The briogeo makes my hair feel greasy and heavy at times
Question: I have low porosity hair and i have read not to use protein? Can i still use Pattern?
I have low porosity, fine hair. And I've found that because it's fine, protien is actually really good for my hair.

No No No! Do NOT deep condition dirty hair. I agree with you. Way too much build up.
