Rdr2 online takes place before the main story of rdr 2
i wish they would just voice simple lines for your online characters, nothing crazy or super long sentences , just like "Whoa nao!" , "Alright" "No" "Yes" Maybe" "I'm on it" "i'll see to it", With the online characters communicating only by nods and grunts you never feel like the character you play in online Rockstar games, adding a small "flare" would go a long way to add emersion. I think simply adding short VOs with a voice pitch changer would work well enough for most if not all.

These Online-missions are alway a little weird when the character is not saying a word. Was the same in GTA-Online.
Like really! Although it does lead to a few funny moments.
Gta online poked fun at itself, how we don't talk. Lester and Lamar constantly make ironic jokes. Not so much in RDO though.

Significantly less so. But yea you had to if you were the adlers. It can’t be easy getting supplies all the way up there and when you do you gotta watch for getting robbed by desperate outlaws. There was a massive change in her character after the odriscolls came though.

The silent protagonist thing could've easily worked with a tiny change:
Jones, Horley or Cripps should at some point during establishing your camp, exclaimed that they put your services up on bounty boards and will sometimes go check them out.
Whenever you go to visit a stranger for the first time, they quickly realize you're the help they requested. Bad guys commenting your ad said "sealed lips", great for illegal work.

Or what if in the opening cutscene you take a knife to the throat or something. You get patched up and live but now you’re a mute.
I like it, it helps me relate more to my character and it makes certain conversations kind of funny, kind of like in GTA Online where Lester thought you were creepy because you didn't talk.

@@MominEnjoyer this is entirely irrelevant to the point made in the original comment, which was that this short interaction shows how easily the O’Driscolls would’ve weaseled their way in to kill Jake. He’s kind and polite, and a little naive and too trustful. The lack of characterization of your,well, character, isn’t pertinent.
Also, why woudo they voice them? They’d need to pay several different voice actors, male and female, of different nationalities and races, otherwise people would complain more. A British person couldn’t make a self insert, nor could you roleplay as a Chinese immigrant when you sound like Huck Finn.

@@Fredric_Cedrich Even tho i love the characters and the story, the entire gang is a group of broken people just trying survive. They are outlaws & murders. The moment you kill someone for revenge is the day you become a broken person. I find it weird how people are so awkward towards feeling or people showing any sense of emotion, that they classify a grieving person as a broken person... But a murder as a surviver. when the grieving person is fighting a bigger demon & eventually with time overcomes it or learns to find peace with it, ending up being the stronger or bigger person. Even Sadie has a confession with Arthur after they kill the last group of O'Driscols she say "look at me arthur they turned me in to a monster". Again she is a broken person & as a broken person she came and convinced a father & now owner of a ranch to seek revanche for Arthur's death. Something Arthur wouldn't really wanted too. Making his sacrifice pointless & contributing to johns death & even worse contributing to jack the only innocent & the only hope left. To get tainted & the cycle begins or most likely will die with Jack and his life as a murder or outlaw. Making Arthurs death & sacrifice even more sad lool

1. The voice would never match up to the chracter looks since that is determined by the player
2. Online chacracters would have the same voice in cutscenes

She did end up taking revenge literally stabbing a guy in the throat later in game in a side mission
She still held onto that promise, even if she was a bit late.
I mean, she very much did kill the O'driscolls. That definitely happened. That was definitely a thing that happened...
Okay, they really should've just given the character a voice, atleast in cutscenes. Give the male and female character each three different voices to choose from, like in Saints Row. If they can do it, Rockstar could do it.

Saints Row is a single player game. The Boss in Saints Row has a set personality and story.
Red Dead Online is an online game with new content added as time goes on. Our characters in GTAO and RDO are supposed to be entirely customizable and personalised. Giving them a specific voice somewhat hinders that personalization. Plus R* would have to get those 6 voice actors back for every new content update they make.
I don't think giving the online characters a voice is a good idea.

Putting aside how silly it is that he just trusts some random mute stranger that came barging into his house (it's RDR Online, it's all janky like that), it's nice to actually know who Jake was. Even from just this short interaction, you can tell just how decent and genuine he is, and even how well his and Sadie's personalities go together.
Jake is quite a nice guy. So that defenetly proves that rdr online is BEFORE the events of the RDR2 Storie Modus

Unless they go straight to the Addler's cabin after getting broken out, the RDO MC must've killed at least a hundred men before Mrs Addler tries to threaten them. She might be a badass in the story mode, but neither her, nor Jake must've realized just who it was that walked into their cabin. Unfortunately, the same appears to be true for the O'Driscolls. Poor Jake.

When I found out that Sadie Adler was added to Red Dead online, that’s when I signed up. I loved that character and I wish there was some DLC where you played as her.

It's just a thought, but would it be too hard for Rockstar to do like 3 voice samples (male and female) so that people could pick one for their character instead of letting them mute all the time and just shaking their heads like dorkies?! I love RDR2, but this is so weird...
What would the 3rd voice sample be? I think it would be better if they did 3 or more voice samples for each, so you can atleast pick what type of voice you want for that specific gender.

I hate to say it, but this is why Jake died and Sadie didn’t. Jake trusted someone who walked into his home armed, not being able to talk, and just let him in. Sadie, on the other hand, threatened him and didn’t trust him.

@@rxvenge2189 I played the story, and I still think this. She's insane. All of the O'Driscolls couldn't have been in that house with her and her husband, but she treats it as such. Her quest for revenge (something the series always advocates against) is blind. She kills an unarmed man she has at gunpoint because she's blood thirsty.
Sadie is more of a monster than ANY other character in the game, including Micah.

@@thebossgames4314 She shoots two unarmed men after Colm hangs for no reason while screaming bloody murder in the middle of a crowd.
She goes on a pre-meditated murder spree of the last O'Driscoll gang members that couldn't have all possibly been at her house. She literally thinks EVERY O'Driscoll member had something to do with her husband's death, which is absolutely absurd, despite the fact that she both knows the vast majority are just random guys who are guns for hire, you already killed the O'Driscolls that were in her house in the mountains, and Kieran one of those members joined the Van Der Linde gang, was someone she came to know as an ally, which is a fact that should have made her think about the morality of what she was doing. She just murders anyone who's even remotely associated with the O'Driscolls.
If you spare Cleet (which seems to be correct move since he's arguing he tried to save the little girl's life, he is unarmed, he was simply running away from John and Sadie and he told the truth to John and Sadie about Micah), she's so murder crazed that she'll ignore John sparing him and shoot him herself in front the of the ENTIRE town for no apparent reason (which John and the town barely react to, but that's par for the course with Rockstar's terrible writing in the epilogue for this story).
Despite the fact Marshall Thurwell tells her about the "monster" in his bounty hunter mission and the danger of the creature before it attacks them, she assumes that he didn't help fight off the bear in hopes that it would kill her and John. This is in face of the fact he explicitly told them about the bear AND he is unarmed (so fighting wouldn't exactly be a strong possibility), and then she violently knocks him out because she's a unstable psychopath.
She is an ABSOLUTE God damn monster and she justifies her insane bloodlust with "my husband is dead and I am sad." It's a farce.
You have to be a complete moron if you think any other character from this series is somehow morally worse (or psychotic) than Sadie based on her actions and justifications.

@I im just pointing out the reasons previous companies have used. I'm sure the main reason they're silent is because they didnt want to hire the voice actors for the base game of online and all subsequent content.

Of course she’d react like that. Also Sadie says in story mode in the beginning of chapter 3 that she already knew how to handle a gun.
It’s a damn shame rockstar don’t care about this no more. I’d love to have missions from other members of the gang. Hosea/Charles would be good choices.
Well they can only do it with so many members of the gang, as most of the other stay in camp. Josiah works because he’s allowed to enter and leave camp as he pleases, Sean works because he’s a goof that gets lost all the time, Joe because he hadn’t joined the gang yet, and Sadie for obvious reasons.
They could possibly make Charles and Micah work, but i’m not too sure about most others.
They didn't milk enough earnings from this as much as they milk buckets and tons of money from GTA5 Online.
Dear God I hope and an update they put options for a voice actor in for your character because this is getting annoying
They could let you edit your voice like selecting higher and lower pitch and stuff like that and for missions with friends every character has their own voice line ( in missions with 4 people) it would be amazing

They missed her character up she was terrified the 1st time we met here now she's a badass before becoming a widow? Sure she wasn't a princess but she weren't the girl we see in the story....
i always love how people who defend sadie use the well her husband died thing as reason to why she acts so terrible but in reality she is just a badly written Mary Sue and it is funny
They didn't mess her character up, it's pretty obvious she was raped in the time between her husband being killed and us finding her in the story, what do you expect her to act like after that?

She wasn’t terrified exactly she was just in a deep depression because her husband was murdered. I mean you can see in chapter one her threatening Kieran and saying she’s gonna kill all of the O’Driscolls. She wasn’t even really being a badass in this scene either. She saw some random guy in her house with weapons on him. Anyone would react like that. Also they establish in story mode that she already knew how to handle a gun before everything happened.

I hate this cutscene because it undermines Sadie's character. There's no character development if she was badass even before her husband died. Hell, she even says herself that they turned her into a monster.
I hated my mute character so much I stopped playing after less than an hour

And then no more cutscenes whenever you go see them. Just the generic wagon retrieval mission.
