The crazy thing about all of this is that Arthur actually struggles with depression if you read his journal entries. He constantly calls himself ugly and questions a lot of compliments.
i love that they gave Arthur a genuine personality. Like he acts so human and it’s so great and I’ve barely even started the game and him drawing little places he sees is so cute.
His journal is what makes me love him so much. It adds so much to the story. He's so curious and amazed by things. It makes you wonder what kind of person he'd be in a different life. God, this game is such an incredible masterpiece.

His drawings are so well detailed, he will put effort into the sketches. and the game shows how good he is by when John starts drawing you can see the difference in their drawings and tell Arthur paid way more attention to smaller details. He writes with emotion but never talks with any emotion. He is literally a closeted artist.

Yooo I JUST heard this a few days ago!!! I panicked thinking an npc was somewhere I couldn't see. Turns out it was just Arthur singing to himself. He even mumbled something randomly a few times. Kind of freaked me out, made it seem like a real person instead of the typical action loops in other games.

Fun fact, Arthur's original design was meant to make him look much rougher, and a bit "ugly", but they changed him into being genuinely handsome.

I would just like to add that in my experience, most of the time women ARE polite to men. Not being polite can be a death sentence, and being polite tends to be ingrained harder in young girls early on than it is in young boys. If a woman is being what a man thinks is disrespectful, or impolite to him, always good for him to reflect on his own actions, the situation, and let go of some ego to see if perhaps he is the problem or if perhaps there were some miscommunications happening. In all honesty, minus the bloodshed for jobs that go sour or require it from the start, and the gang violence, he’s a remarkably good guy! My Arthur was always relatively well dressed with a level 2-3 beard and usually level 3-4 right parted fade haircut. I tried to keep him clean cut while being a genuine and kind guy besides when he needed to be the tough and gruff outlaw. The whole heart of gold hidden beneath the rough exterior kind of deal.
