I think this could be the possible premise of red dead redemption 3. Either that, or the earlier lore of the vanderlin gang, like what went down in black water, how arthur joined the gang, all of that.
I still think what they did to Strauss was dirty. I know he did bad stuff, but he was soo loyal that even though he was detained, tortured, and was ultimately killed, he still never talked. Maybe he was afraid they’ll find him and kill him. Or hoped they’d find him and save him. He was just doing the job Dutch hired him for. And until that moment, he never thought there was any serious issue. He also probably never thought anyone would have contracted tb. Maybe didn’t even know the guy had it? Yeah, he prayed on innocent desperate ppl. But Arthur could have talked to him. Didn’t have to be nice. But tell him he’s gotta find another way to help the group. I mean, look at uncle, and reverend. They didn’t do anything to contribute. Just saying.
Yea, I remember playing chapter two for the first time and thinking "I guess Strauss is the only one actually making money here besides us". As you said, it was what Dutch let him join for and, if Arthur brought up the moral issues to (a still sane) Dutch, they could probably stop loansharking to extremly desperate people, not like you can't make plenty of money with regular banking. I get Arthur's point, but he did Strauss dirty
@@NoFlu yeah, and it was clear Strauss could have helped win at card games or things like that. Charles writes John a letter at the end of the game saying he found a woman in Canada. I don’t remember if he said they had children or a child on the way.
Man people are desperate for attention in this comment section. Anyways, i'm pretty let down by Karen's disappearance. I'm not saying that the fate of every character should be known completely in-depth, but it just feels weird that the story barely even mentions her after she vanishes. No one even talks about it except for Tilly in only a letter, and even then she doesn't know that much either. I can completely accept that Karen did something very dumb while intoxicated, but just vanishing without a trace or even so much as just one character at camp going "where's karen?" just seems off. Trelawny on the other hand was always written as someone who would show up very randomly and disappear often for unknown spans of time, to me, for him to just stay away from the gang and not be seen around them makes sense especially when Dutch started going crazy.
God even though leopald strauss was a bad man he never told he was loyal sure he had some shady business dealings but he was loyal though it is kind of sad at how he died like that im guessing it was too much pressure for him but im not sure
I'm scrolling thru the comments to check and see if anyone has the same sentiments as me when it comes to Strauss. He was loyal till the end and it felt authentic when he said he thought he and Arthur were friends 😢
i wish there are more side missions involving these characters, not just little favors. it would have been so fun to do heists just like bank robbery in Valentine with Karen, or look after the bisons with Charles, steal some good loot with Trelawny... I feel that would have give you a better more insight about their pasts than listening to their conversations back at the camp
When I finished the epilogue in 2018 I spent hours scouring the entire map looking for Karen after finding everyone else. Since she doesn't have a confirmed death she could come back if RDR3 is a sequel to RDR1 I think she'd be about 40
Man...ik Arthur's ending is part of what made game good..but i wish..i sooo wish there was another play through where i could keep him alive.. God damn i always get too attached to fictional characters

Someone else pointed out, Arthur knew the gang was falling apart and wanted to help Strauss by giving him a reason to escape without making it obvious what was happening. Which is why he made sure to find the right bag and gave him money like he did with the rest. Just recently found that out. So maybe?
The gang used to rob rich guy, not lending money with high interest to poor people
Reverend was the gang's doctor, and uncle was the gang's complainer, as he complained enough for the whole gang
Por Dios hermano! pero que magnifica intro! sigue con tus videos que son espectaculares.
Saludos.
thank you!
You guys are doing a great job I love watching these videos.
thank you! they're only gonna get better
My favorite is Trelawneys, that dialogue was so cute
0:17 Nice, it reminds me of a Schofield design I made.
Perfect timing I just beat red dead 2 100% yesterday
Arthur with the horse and the lightning shot is absolute perfection
I like this the old Innocent times miss Tilly saying "we have a House" Johns response is so interesting
Shoutout Strauss for redeeming himself in a way
Everyone knows about the book in gta5 red dead by j Marston I wonder if later in life jack met up with Mary Beth and they worked on the book together. Maybe she could help fill in some things that he didn't remember
This was the last game ive played that i had a connection with the characters. Charles was the friend you would want if you needed anyone by your side. Good times playing this game.
Charles writes John a letter at the end of the game saying he found a woman in Canada. I don’t remember if he said they had children or a child on the way.
My head cannon is that Uncle survived Rdr 1 and then went on to shoot Tupac in las vegas
Hearing Pierce say welcome to my store with pride brought me some some
The original John Marston outfit
1:31 minutes in ..., Killa intro. 👍🙏🎯🔥💥💯
For the people who want to know what song is in the intro it's the borderlands 2 intro
Using Short Change Hero in the opener is a godly move.
another banger video
“Arthur saved my life I don’t talk about it much” DONT TALK ABOUT IT MUCH !
Trelawny on the other hand was always written as someone who would show up very randomly and disappear often for unknown spans of time, to me, for him to just stay away from the gang and not be seen around them makes sense especially when Dutch started going crazy.
amazing intro, loved every second.
Are the interactions different if arthur had low honor
some of them

God even though leopald strauss was a bad man he never told he was loyal sure he had some shady business dealings but he was loyal though it is kind of sad at how he died like that im guessing it was too much pressure for him but im not sure
I'm scrolling thru the comments to check and see if anyone has the same sentiments as me when it comes to Strauss. He was loyal till the end and it felt authentic when he said he thought he and Arthur were friends 😢
Jack retreats into his books the same way I retreat into my UA-cam videos…
Great Video!

That intro was so fire
i wish there are more side missions involving these characters, not just little favors. it would have been so fun to do heists just like bank robbery in Valentine with Karen, or look after the bisons with Charles, steal some good loot with Trelawny...
I feel that would have give you a better more insight about their pasts than listening to their conversations back at the camp
Great video 👍

That intro montage was amazing.
Okay ngl, that intro gave me Peaky Blinders vibe
I'm just glad that josiah get a good ending
Plottwist: Sadie went to Canada and became Charles's wife.
The idiots still thinking uncle is red Harlow and trelawney is the strange man know nothing about the red dead universe

Btw i dig the borderlands 2 style intro

When I finished the epilogue in 2018 I spent hours scouring the entire map looking for Karen after finding everyone else. Since she doesn't have a confirmed death she could come back if RDR3 is a sequel to RDR1 I think she'd be about 40
Man...ik Arthur's ending is part of what made game good..but i wish..i sooo wish there was another play through where i could keep him alive..
God damn i always get too attached to fictional characters
Can You remember me when You both become famous?
of course
I know this is a unrelated topic, but I feel like if Hosea never died he would have convinced Dutch not to be the person he was when he died
Watching John reuniting with some of the gang was like reuniting with old friends after high school of course Karen was the only one I felt sorry for
Karen is never seen again after chapter 6, she easily could’ve been kidnapped by the Murphees, which would be a horrendous ending
The guy who wispers: his voice is so awesome
by the end of Red Dead Redemption II in 1907, 14 members of the gang are still alive
When I saw Simon Pearson for the general store I was like “the hell” cause I thought he would be a butcher Lol
Arthur gets TB from the barfight in Valentine, when mr Downs stops the fight and coughs in Arthurs face. It´s not because of Strauss.
Still haven’t done 100% play through as I never do any Strauss missions after the mandatory ones
Arthur kicking out Strauss was amazing to see
Arthur Lets out his last breath on a mountain looking east at the sunrise
karen Drank till death
Trelawney is possibly still in st denis
Mary-Beth is A writer
Tilly is living the life of Wealthy Folk
Swanson became a Priest
John,Abigail, Jack and uncle became Ranchers
charles went to Canada
Javier is Hiding in the rocky mountains of Mexico
Dutch was in Mt Hagen now Tall trees
Micah Got what he deserved
Grimshaw died Screaming on the ground in pain
Joe and cleet got killed by Marston
Sadie went to south America
Jack became a writer
Pearson became the general store owner of Rhodes
Bill Williamson hiding in fort Mercer
You can get the trelawny dialogue in saint denis before he leaves, btw ivr gotten it multiple times
Im enjoying this playthrough with the cheat save glitch. Being money superior has helped me actually enjoy arthur's character. I highly recommend doing a playthrough with money cheat activated
After 2 hours game time you never have money problems. Why would anyone use this Cheat?
You pretty much infinite money midway through chapter 3, idk why u needed a cheat lmao
Love the Borderlands music/intro ngl
Awe Pearson with the photo of the gang ❤
So is my game glitching? because after i finished it. Charles smith hangs around john's ranch at the campfire? lol you can even agonize him too and interact with him
The same thing happened to me a few times. People told me I was crazy. I’m glad the same thing is happening to you. I saw him standing by one of the fences and wondered what the hell is he doing there. And he started talking about how he had a lead on Micah… I was like we already finished that and Micah is dead 😄
I had a glitch where after sean was shot he was sittin there in camp
Its upsetting that we dont know where Karen went.
She really enjoyed robbing and being someone to the Van Der Linde gang that she totally went overlooked in other schemes that Dutch cooked up.
that song wouldve went crazy if it was really in the game it fits so well
