This is a very enjoyable video, definitely top 3 sub37 vids, a real pleasure to listen to someone who really knows what they are doing. Great sounds, cheers.
I love the looping syncable envelopes that stuff is crazy cool can turn a sequence into something else quickly and then back again, great creative tool
couldn't agree more! that syncable envelope looper is a total game changer and definitely one of the Subsequent37's top features in my opinion. sync it up to a sweet drum pattern and you're set
Very good job if you still have and could share the patches for the self oscillating part, duo mode/pitch modulation and fx water drop that would be great…
@@bendrrmusic thanks for your answer… it doesn’t matter but great if you will try to make some videos about those sections to show the great capacities of Sub 37. These are not sounds and patches we used to hear about it
ahaha thanks! The water drops were discovered completely by mistake. I started off with a single 16' saw tooth oscillator and kicked the keyboard octave all the way down until i was playing the lowest possible tone. after some noodling with the filter and resonance and applying some reverb, i started getting that sound!
@@bendrrmusic it is indeed, i bought the Groove 3 course, which is great, a wee bit more in depth than the manual but I’m looking for courses on sound design with it, you should do one mate!
Not so hard. Moog one, Moog Matriarch, Moog Grandmother, Minimoog, Memory Moog, Sequential Pro One, Sequential OB6, any Oberheim SEM, Analog Solutions Leipzig V3, Roland Jupiter 8, Behringer Model D or Poly D, Behringer Monopoly, etc, etc, etc, etc.
Yup, I use the Strymon Big Sky reverb pedal (Blue-ish box in top left of video), and I also use the Strymon Timeline delay pedal (Black-ish box to the right of the blue box), and I just have all of that going into my audio interface, into my DAW. That's pretty much it!
@@bendrrmusic I have just bought the Sub 37 and after reading your answer I would like to ask - so aparat from those two pedals (which are amazing) you have created all these sounds by yourself? That's brilliant
No need to purchase separate fx pedals if you own a Yamaha Montage or similar keyboard run the audio output of the sub37 into the AD input of the other keyboard and process with fx. Then run the sub37 out an assignable output. This way you can still run the sub37 into a separate channel on your mixer.
My dumb self didn't save like any of these patches, but i'm gonna try to breakdown some of these segments in separate vides, so i'll try to do one for this patch
@@TheNerdyMusician ahahah i definitely need to get around to this.I also just realized there were two Pink Floyd covers in this video, did you know which one you wanted broken down? I suppose I could just do both haha
This is analog dude. Unlike digital synthesizers there are no 'Presets'. To get back to a certain sound one must do one of two things. Either memorize the exact position of every knob and switch or take a picture. Neither method is perfect and it will take some fiddling around to get back close to a previous sound when trying to recreate it later on.
Thanks homie! I actually made that one from scratch - If i remember correctly i just cranked the pitch amount on one of the mod busses and used the Random shape. There might be more to it, it's been awhile since i made this 🤣
Thank you! I don't see why you couldn't! Take a Midi cable from the Mother32 Midi Out port and plug it into the Subsequent37's Midi In port. You may need to adjust some parameters in the Global / Midi menus, but this should work!
Thinking about buying it. Its 6 years old. Do u think its still worth it. Are there any new synths u think are better. ? This or the matriach? Awesome tones!!
Hey dude thanks for watching! My input on this is a probably a bit bias, because I don't think I could ever part ways with my Subsequent37. I think it is still worth it. That being said, from what i've seen of the Matriarch, that thing is a total beast in its own right. If you're able to shell out the extra $500, I would say go for it. But if you're looking to stay within the price point of the Subsequent37, the Sequential Pro3 seems like a very solid contender, and that's one of the newer synths on the market. It all depends on what your preferences are, and what "sound" you're looking for. Hope this helps!

Making electronic sounds by pressing buttons and turning dials is fine, if one enjoys generating sequences of complex sound waves. Tinkering with "cool" synthesizers is not musicianship. I use my Sub 37 for music. It's OK.
