This series is a huge achievement in education in sounddesign for everyone FOR FREE! This is going to be your legacy to the world! You deserve tons of credits for this! Thank you!!!!
Haha, thanks so much :)

100% completely agree. Thank you so much for this.

People like you are why the internet is so powerful. Amazing people like you make content like this for us all to learn for free. I feel indebted, and thank you very much.
Thanks a lot, I'm happy do to my part. See that as an investment: if I want to live in a world with better music, this is the best I can do ;p
Can't believe this is out here for free. I've paid for sound design courses and been incredibly disappointed in them. But this one spends time on the fundamentals and explaining how everything stems from those, so that I can really understand HOW these tools work and not just "slap this knob up if you want dirty / wide / full sound brah." Just awesome.
This makes me very happy. The fact that this is actually useful AND the fact that people looking for this stuff are actually starting to find it :) happy that is is useful!
Out of all of the music production videos I've watched, this is the FIRST to provide this perspective. You are a HERO for this! THANK YOU
Thanks a lot :) glad this helps!
Okay, I must admit, beyond everything else, it's impresses me, that you managed to make a video of such length that just pulls you in to watch it all in one sitting
Haha, thanks. That's also very condensed, I'm very impressed that you watched it all in one sitting!
I started watching yesterday this video on my TV being completely stoned. I'm going to be honest, I put the video cuz it was Sant Joan here yesterday, which is a festivity with tons of fireworks, and I needed something to keep the dogs distracted; "this guy is going to make tons of noise" I thought, "perfect".
I saw the ENTIRE VIDEO in one sitting, and today I watched it AGAIN. Mate, you're GOLD, what you explained here for free is just too good of information. As a kind of stuck techno producer, I kindly can say a huge thank you. For now you have my Sub for sure.
Haha, that's amazing! I love your comment, it's one of the best x)
Ha where's the tag for 'sound therapy for dogs'. Dude's content crossed the species boundary already.
this video replaces thousand of half assed attempts to teach sound design basics. one of the best videos I've found on youtube!
Thanks a lot ! 🙏
This is by far THE BEST sound design tutorials I've seen!
Thanks a lot! :D
That tape delay LFO 🤯 that's a really cool trick
Better than any paid sound design course. Thank you very much
You're welcome and thank you! :)
This is an incredible amount of knowledge, very concisely crammed into a 2.5 hour presentation. Well done!
Thanks!

@@Woochia thanks! I’ve been enjoying my first of many watch throughs over the last few days! So good to get such a thorough dive through most of abletons devices! 🥰
hilarious
Guess which video is getting downloaded to my phone, for multiple listens at work. Great use of yt premium.
Thanks for creating this! I agree with all the others - this could be the one single best free learning resource on the internet for starting out with synthesis and sound design and get a coherent overview of the basics. Usually I prefer to read books to learn, but your practical examples and illustrations really add value. There is no filler, no bullshit, no marketing, just very well-presented information. By the way, I'm exactly the kind of person preferring to have one bookmark, so this is absolutely perfect! Now I am very much looking forward to checking out your music theory tutorial! And then I consider saving these gems to my harddrive as a backup, just in case something happens to the internet ;)
Thank you very much. I'm glad you liked it, and I hope you'll enjoy the music theory one as well :)
Been working on taking notes on this video for about a week now, and I’m halfway through the video. Im already so much more ready to go into producing soon than I was before. Can’t wait to finish the video and start making sounds! Thank you so much, this video has been incredibly helpful, and could very well be the reason I actually am able to produce the way I want to.
I might have to make fake accounts just to like this video more times. Im sure one could find all this info scattered across youtube presented in a much worse way. But to have it all together like this is gold. Bravo sir, A++++++++++++++++++ (continues onto other chalkboard) ++++++++++++++
Haha thanks a lot!
This video is ridiculously good. I have played with many of these technologies for years and have some kind of feel for what they do, but this video has made me connect the dots on so many things. I feel like I gained a new understanding of what each of these things do on a technical level. The way you put the effects into context by showing how you can achieve the same thing in multiple ways was what really made it click for me. I also enjoyed the little bits of advice you threw in there from time to time, like filtering after each distortion, or detuning and then saturating the bass. This gave me so much inspiration! Thanks so much, you deserve a lot more views and subscribers.
Your comment makes me very happy, this is exactly why I made this series of videos. I saw a lot of tutorials that gave a sense of how to use each effect, but none really explained in details what they do. So I made this series to try and connect all the dots.
@@Woochia You did a fantastic job, that's how I like to learn things, everything is well explained in detail, and also very important to see examples and uses cases
At the beginning of the year, I hardly understood music theory. At 6:53 and I swear that understanding music theory a lot more just makes me appreciate music a lot more in general. What a journey! 30 March.
Appreciate guys like you who post these types of videos for free. Because a lot of the software is expensive and buy courses on top all adds up.
This really is outstanding, and I cannot thank you enough for this excellent work
But not perfect. However, music technology history is another field of knowledge, hence my corrections.
@@PendelSteven are you working on a course by any chance Steven?
@@mercurialsound7670 Not yet. I just like to know stuff and therefore know a lot. So when I see people not telling quite the truth and I can correct them, I tend to do so. And sometimes I don't know it exactly, but at least I know where to find the details. Which is part of being smart, I'd be a good guest on a panel is how I feel, but not quite a teacher
outstanding as a small part of any basic course at the community college
This video makes any to-pay-for- sound- design- courses absolute obsolete. Very entertaining and informative. It is by far the best sound design video one can find on UA-cam. And don't forget to mention the guy with the black cap, you used to illustrate what you show.
Great video. Can’t imagine the work put into this!

the youtube algorithm favors "quick tips and tricks" style videos over this longer format style, but this is where all the good stuff is. I got my notepad out.
