I think the idea is that the mask is clear so Corey can paint his face as he pleases. That, and I think the mask is supposed to be not unlike what a burn victim would wear, maybe symbolizing a fresh start or new face of sorts. Maybe I'm stretching, but I remembered reading it somewhere.
I know I'm very late but there's a lot of meaning behind Corey's mask in this. It's based on what burn victims would wear way back in the day and is symbolic of the restorative/healing process of breaking habits and addictions.

I had a similar experience with this song to “All Out Life” the level of excitement that I haven’t felt this much of in metal since probably Avenged Sevenfold’s “The Stage” album release a few years back.

My gut says Corey is going to actually release his actual mask on Jimmy Kimmel. He sets himself on fire at the end portraying he's letting himself let go. He's going to come back with a new mask. For hyping up his mask being made by famous horror movie mask maker, it just seems too basic.
Given he had said he wanted this mask to be similar to ahig because of the performance of the mask I think this is it. Personally I like it. I didn't like his ahig mask until later. Now it's one of my favorite slipknot masks in general.

You guys have to remember, they wear the mask for personal reasons NOT for appearance. Corey's mask is plain because (according to a fan) it resembles a mask you wear when you have some sort of burn on your face. It has the feeling of acceptance from the public and feeling scared to be yourself in a way. (I clearly can not remember much of what the fan said). After the fan said that, my whole perspective of Corey's mask changed. I had to remember their mask aren't used for looks but the problems they are going through. Corey himself even responded on the fan's remark. He said that was the feel he was going for. Now I think Corey's mask is kinda creative and has some elements of Iowa (not all, SOME).
Corey's mask was done by Tom Savini, who worked on many horror movies, his most notable being Friday the 13th, Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead, and the Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2.

You guys have to remember, they wear the mask for personal reasons NOT for appearance. Corey's mask is plain because (according to a fan) it resembles a mask you wear when you have some sort of burn on your face. It has the feeling of acceptance from the public and feeling scared to be yourself in a way. (I clearly can not remember much of what the fan said). After the fan said that, my whole perspective of Corey's mask changed. I had to remember their mask aren't used for looks but the problems they are going through. Corey himself even responded on the fan's remark. He said that was the feel he was going for. Now I think Corey's mask is kinda creative and has some elements of Iowa (not all, SOME).
Corey's mask was done by Tom Savini, who worked on many horror movies, his most notable being Friday the 13th, Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead, and the Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2.
