I was born in Jackson at Baptist hospital in 1974. I lived in Jackson till 82. Jackson USED to be a wonderful city to live until the mid-late 80’s, then we all know what happened, hence why over 40% of the pop. left and moved to Brandon, Madison, etc, and commute in.
I am moving to Jackson and my new house is a 1/2 mile away from the Whole Foods. Everyone told me I should move to the places you mentioned, such as Brandon and Madison for all the reasons you stated about taxes, infrastructure, etc. However, they just didn't appeal to me personally. They all lacked the character of North Jackson and there was way too much traffic. I am willing to the live with the weaknesses just because it is where I feel at home the most. As for the Jackson taxes, I am ecstatic. However, my standards are low due to the fact that for the past ten years I have been living in Orange County, CA and then for the past two years I have been living outside of Boston.
Wait. Brandon has too much traffic?!?!? You are awfully close to Ridgewood Rd, which is dreadful. Hate to say this, but I suspect you will soon regret your decision.
@@CindyLT1972 I actually meant Flowood. Sorry! No, I don't think I am. Just out of curiosity, why do you think so? I drove on Ridgewood Road almost everyday in the the 90's and the early 2000's. I dont remember it being that bad. I would imagine it would be better now, because back then more people lived there.
I live in Jackson, I never leave. To mention the water system in Jackson is old news, our water is great now, the reason I live here is convenience. I can get to Whole Foods, coffee shops, great restaurants, my bank and anywhere else in two or three minutes. When I'm driving around half of the license tags here are from Madison and Rankin Co. A couple just moved to our street from Madison, they got tired of driving around and spending half the day at stop lights. The title of this is really offensive to those of us who live here which is a lot. Please take this down. Thank you, Dr. Roger Parkes.
If you can afford it, buy a house in Eastover, in Jackson. Your property value will be stable and you'll have a really nice house and a huge yard, front and back...buy a riding lawnmower..
My new idea for Jackson, ms shopping plazas, affordable housing, genetrifation, Hyundai plant create more jobs, thrift stores , dollar stores, Aldi's, jack in box, scholzkys subs,
What contributes to the water quality challenges in Jackson? Are these issues tied to state or federal governance, or do they stem from local management in Jackson, Mississippi? I'm intrigued, residing in Omaha, Nebraska, with a nephew living a couple hours from Jackson and my sister is contemplating a move to central Mississippi. Any insights would be appreciated.
The city of Jackson has been facing water challenges for well over 20 years now. It stems from the population in the city slow declining over the last years. When the tax base fades away, other problems start to show up. OF course, people are quick to point fingers and try to shift the blame. But, ultimately, the other cities around Jackson have been growing and prospering, but unfortunately, Jackson is struggling.
Our water in Jackson is perfect now and has been for two years. The fact that she mentioned the water makes me wonder about this whole video. The name of the video is offensive and she should take it down. There is no vacancy in the luxury condos in downtown Jackson because the water pressure is so good now.
Hi T, Yes, Ridgeland is a great city! I did a video on it...make sure you check it out! And if you have any specific questions, give us a call at 601-613-9100
Hi Rick, I lived in Colorado for a few years....Loved it there! I'm a native Mississippian....I'd encourage you to come visit our area. Call me when you get here and let's meet for coffee. 601-613-9100
They say the water is safe to drink now...www.cnn.com/2022/10/31/us/jackson-mississippi-water-safe-to-drink-epa/index.html But, every winter when freezing temps hit, the pipes in Jackson usually burst and the water supply takes a hit! We can't really speak to dangerous racism, but Niche give Jackson a C- for safety... www.niche.com/places-to-live/jackson-hinds-ms/crime-safety/
I wouldn't drink the water here or any where in the u.s honestly. Racism is very bad here. It's coming from the the ones who claim they can't be racist because they are not white though...honestly.

Hello. Do you think that the presence of Whole Foods has to do with the increase of property value in Jackson?

Eastover is very nice. I've painted several homes there in the past 20 years. The speeds live there.
I 🤔 wonder why.... Hmmmmm
😂😂
We all know why lol 🤣😂
Jackson is so sad & segregated y'all still can't even see past color, that Rankin/Hinds county line is forever ingrained into your soul

Obviously the restaurant scene was very carefully choreographed but is it realistic?

@@MrRogerbp Hello. Are there people in Jackson that are still having brown water coming from their faucets?
Thank you very informative without making too long of a video - I learned something today - Do you play pickleball?
you are welcome!! I play Tennis...but there are some public pickleball courts at Ridgeland Tennis Center. $4 per person for 90 minutes.
Well done and informative video. I didn't hear anything about that elephant, though, and it's best to just leave it lie anyway or get in big trouble.
Is Ridgeland on par with Madison?

I lived in Clinton for 18 years and loved it! Tried to stay out of Jackson as much as possible.
Ridgeland is becoming Jackson Lite. The cancer is quickly spreading.

You're beautiful
Covert racism…. We know who you want in these homes

Crime is a real issue there. It’s not some trivial abstract issue.
Nobody wants to live in the murder capital bro & drink muddy shit water while getting paid crumbs
Well, you’re just a professional victim. Jackson is a dump.
How clean is the water? How dangerous is racism there?

Hey everyone, DONT MOVE TO JACKSON. It’s terrible and dangerous.
Overrated. Clinton is as nice and has lots to offer. I like them all.
Clinton is a great town! We need to make a video on it...I'll add it to our list!
