Toyota Tacoma - Авто та транспорт
How can you trust a person who doesn't even know what trim he's talking about lol TRD pro isn't even out
It’s BROKE regardless of the trim so does it really matter? Yota fans hahaha
TFL’s Tacoma is a TRD off-road. The 2024 Pros aren’t out yet. And the entire diff didn’t blow out, the ADD did but Toyota did replace their entire diff.
thats no what the dealer maintaince paperwork said... but its what Roman and toyota are saying...
That’s simply not true though.
TFL is a giant UA-cam channel. If you think that you or I would get the same treatment, you must be a bigger fool than most people.
Not an ideal situation either way. But nice cope.
It’s broke so does it matter the exact specifics on a brand new truck? Lmao
The difference between Toyota and GM is they are willing to issue recalls to get the problem corrected as opposed to GM who continually turn a blind eye to the AFM blowing their motors up, the o ring on the oil pickup tube going bad and loosing oil pressure ya know minor little things. I used to be a die hard GM guy but after 3 trucks needing new engines just outside of warranty I’ve moved on.
What engines are unreliabl?! I personally think the vortec engines are bulletproof
@@tannerroberstsonski2022 2.7 L that they are replacing in the Colorado
@@johnmeeboer8971 ah ha
Ranger Raptor would be sick otherwise I think the Colorado still has some life left in her lol
You clearly have no idea what you’re talking about. 😂
4:32 I have said it every time you've asked Nissan Pro-4X. Just try it!!
The problem with the small trucks is the small engine amped up with a turbo to get the needed power at a sacrifice of longevity.
This whole video is mostly about TFL ..they didn’t get stranded, Toyota fixed it and had the faulty part shipped back to them for research. Relax they’ll get it together. The only reason they are having problems is because they finally updated there line up after 15 years 😂
I am pretty sure there has not been a new Tacoma engine problem. Front differential yes but no engines
TFL had a TRD Off-road not TRD pro the pro is not out and has the hybrid only option
1,000,000 brand new Chevy trucks break- eeh we expect that
Tfl's tacoma breaks- STORM THE GATES OF TOYOTA
There is always first year production issues.
Indeed ! So far my 24 Tundra has been solid.
Everyone complained about Toyota not being up to date with interior and style, but they never broke. To keep up with epa and everyone wanting new tech I think they pushed to far and lost there reliability. But NOTHING is reliable in my mind anymore. We have a ton of new gm trucks of all models at work and they are always broke. I have friends with fords getting cam and timing chains done before 100,000 miles. I own a Ram and they have problems too. Less government and less tech if you want a reliable vehicle. The tech is great when it works but terrible when it doesn’t.
Stop with the EPA excuse Ford has 3 engine choices in the new ranger 2 of which are V6 turbos, Nissan has their NA V6 and you can still get a V8 in the f150. Toyota chose profit uber alles. They can make more money if everything went to the same engine.
@@marklihsu Toyota has always had limited engine options. They build an engine and stick with it forever. Government/EPA regulations is not an excuse it’s a huge problem with all brands. I’m not defending Toyota. Every company makes choices. I just think we would have better vehicles if the government would back off. The emission systems on vehicles do more harm than good. Worse fuel economy, chocking the engine out. It causes the prices to go up on the cars causing company’s to cut corners in other areas. Like electronics, or differentials, or whatever it may be.
@@TimewithCal Exactly ,, if govt was serious they would ban plastic bottles and go glass
This is why i want to keep the car i have right now, very reliable and works pretty damn well minus a couple of issues. Its an old 2002 mercedes s210. With the 3.2 liter V6. Lovely car. The newer ones seem very nice and comfortable but it doesnt seem like they last
I would like to see what difference you see between the Chevy and GMC...aside from some lights and interior trim does it really justify the extra $$$
How many GM's have broken ? Honest question.
It’s their first model year, the difference between Toyota and domestic is that Toyota will iron out the issues, domestics won’t. Don’t buy the first couple model years and you’ll be golden
The first 2 model years of the new tundra had major issues, but they’re ironed out (for the most part) now. It’s Toyota, they’ll fix it.
@@justing224 Love my 24 Pro Tundra and it's been flawless for 6months/4k miles. Hate the new price and inflation though and don't blame people holding onto Gen1 and 2.
They shouldn’t be experimenting with the public 😂.
@@7381366 Did you line up for the koof shot and boosters //lmao
The last gen Tacoma was just recalled for axles falling apart. Tacomas are trash, they are not landcruisers. They are Mexican rust buckets
Go with the Frontier Pro 4x. Haven't seen any major issues with reliability with them and cheaper than most mid-sized trucks
The frontier as well as titan and Z had transmission parking pawl problems. They were all recalled. Yes they have the same 9 speed auto designed by mercedes
@@beexiong2995yes in 2022 long long over and fixed
Nissan frontier
thats only 1 2024 tacoma fail out of how many tho ?
Dude what are you talking about?? Lol no engines blowing up… only one 4th gen reported a blown front diff and it wasn’t a pro, and I guarantee you never even had an allocation 😂
I recently traded in my f250 for a f150 fx4 and have been very impressed so far with the 2.7 ecoboost. Fuel economy and reliability are great so far. I know everyone will chime in and have their own opinions but this is the option i choose and to me it is everything i want and need . The only issue is since i went with the crew and the bed is a 5.7ft , i installed a tri fold bed cover and be extender and i have plenty of room. Its also nice to have the 6 seat option with all my kids . Either option you choose make sure it fits your needs and especially aftermarket support.
I see a lot of people are suggesting the Nissan Frontier. I would normally agree with this but I heard some weird stuff about how mechanics have to buy a special software in order to work on any new Nissans(Mercedes and Chryseler included). Feel free to correct me on this if I am mistaken. Im in the market for a mid-size pickup too.
I have heard the same but overall the frontier sounds like a good truck. And although nissan seems to not be in a good place the frontier seems like a mostly reliable truck. And tbh i trust a V6 more then a turbo four. That said i have heard it has its issues and some people have had some fairly major issues.
Reason why I will be keeping my 3rd gen 2019 as long as I can.
Maybe you can go with a Lariat FX4 Ranger with the turbo v6 if the Raptor is too much?
Honda Ridgeline or Hyundai Santa Cruz.?
😂😂😂😂😂
LOL!!
I have a sport S ecodiesel 3rd Gen and never looked back. 0 issues over 30k miles
Get a first Gen Toyota Tundra 2000-2006 My mom ownes a 2003 Tundra sr5 access cab v6 3.4 still strong 125k miles or Get 4.7 v8 2004-2006 double cab first gen tundras which is full four doors and access cab like your old duramax one million miles engine or get a second gen Tundra 2007-2021 crewmax 5.7 v8 also can go one million miles
Nissan Frontier PRO4X!!! I have a 16' PRO4X 6SPD and I LOVE it! Would of bought a new one but ya know money lol Dana 44 (Dana M226) rear axle with locker 3.692 (3.73s) gears stock. Such good solid tricks
I had to replace the frames when that was going on and the gas pedal recalls as well. I remember a lot of “misinformation “ for lack of a better term during those recalls.
So this entire video is just based on the on TFL incident? Oh but wait, he slipped in that "this is happening to lots of people offline". Yeah ok, bring the receipts.
I usually wait a few years before I buy a model that has been revamped. there is usually growing pains. And since I always put 37s to 40s on my Takos it will be better to stay in the 3rd gen, since I know what they can take and when they've hit their limits.
At4x or ranger raptor!
Loving my new Pro 4X and almost 20k cheaper than the Ranger Raptor
That’s another underrated truck that v6 is the best engine on the market and most reliable these 4 cylinder turbos won’t last 100k without major issues watch..
It's $20k less capable so make sense. Great truck but not comparable
@@marklihsu your crazy 20k less capability explain pls because with the Nissan all u need is a 2 inch lift with some live fox shocks for a total of 5k maybe then the Nissan can go anywhere that raptor can for a total of 45k vs 58k fir the raptor
@cbruno12180 maybe so but Nissan's drivetrain is pure trash. Oh an this is coming from experience.
You never replied what model yours was :-)
TFL was not "stranded" as you stated. They still had rear wheel drive.
It was a trd off road that tfl broke not a pro. Also, 24 Pros haven't been released yet.
Thats a tough one bro. Ive had a 2018 zr2, no problems. Just traded it in on a 2024 bison. We will see how that goes but the zr2s is how i found you channel. I dont really want to see you driving around in a toyota or ford.😢
How do you like the bison so far? I'm really curious and am really thinking about trading my colorado for one as well. What year colorado fix you have and how much did they give you?
@@chriskolaska897 so far it's awesome, only 600 miles tho. They gave me 26,000 for my 18 zr2 with 48,000 miles and brand new tires and brakes.
@thundermuscle48 damn that really ain't much what they have got, but then again, it is the dealer, lol. That's cool. What did you pay out the door, if you don't mind me asking
That's true...I probably could have got a little more for it selling it myself but it is what it is. Bison was 63,000.
TFL's is a TRD Off-Road. The TRD Pro and Trailhunter won't be out for several months or so.
You should go to the 1st generation GMC Canyon AT4X😅
What's wrong with the nissan frontier? I'm telling you, after owning an 05 for about 8 years , putting on 180k of the hardest driving km you can imagine. I'm taking about advising out like it was stolen. I was just a kid. All i ever did to it was oil changes and brakes. The only thing i did aside from that was a u joint before i wrote it off. Drove into 2 parked cars drunk. And it still drove after that lol. I'm now into my newest 2023 pro 4x and once again, bullet proof, solid and dependable. Worth a check out.
I could be wrong but i thought the TFL road test wasn't a TRD pro. Just bring that up cause you kept saying "that shouldn't happen, especially on a trd pro"
1:14 Lol that knocked the confidence off his face fast!
Frontier pro4x or king cab
The type of testing they were putting that tacoma through probably wouldn't be covered by warranty either thats why they bought the truck to see how much abuse it could handle before it breaks
tfl truck is not a pro
It’s crazy how ram makes the best looking wheel for a Chevy lol
I think that Toyota and the chief engineer was heavily involved in TFL’s Tacoma so hopefully they’ll make sure that doesn’t happen to newer trucks. Especially now that it’s out there you know.
I just stopped and looked at a sweet GMC Canyon AT4 yesterday at the dealership. Over 67k😲 insane!!!
If you watched the TFL video it is a base model 4x4 and since it was one of the first to have this problem they said it was being looked into by Toyota engineering. All of the brands have problems with new models when they come out.
This is what happens when Toyotas are made here in the states instead of Japan were there supposed to be built, the difference in quality by its workers is big time.
I too own a 2023 ZR2. No issues yet, but it is still stock. Except for the throttle commander/Wind Booster. No more lag when I step on the peddle. No I am not looking for a race truck, just better throttle response. I did look at Toyota, but they had not come out yet. The Trail Hunter looks so good. But just cannot get away from my ZR2...yet. Good luck with what ever may come your way! I will still watch!
If I understand correctly the ADD on the toyota is essentially a sheer pin. A weak point that will break instead of really expensive parts.
Get a Gladiator with the Accu-Air suspension. Can run up to 40s with it. TFL has a recent video about it. Have AMW put in a new 392.
Seen another video where it's got behind the grill that open to let more air flow in, and they got stuck shut. That's something else to go wrong, I've always had a Toyota, so my third generation will be it for me.
Where's the jeep gladiator stand...I don't hear any problems with those....and with doing mods on stock ones....still have not heard anything. Think about the jeep gladiator bro!
Just get a Titan with the V8 while they’re still available
I’m down
No way they are junk. Wouldn't pull a greased string out of a cats ass
Most under rated truck on the market the drivetrain on those are bulletproof.. and the 5.0 coyote ford 150 is the one the best too..
@@RFRacing717 do it, you've had chevy issues, TFL had Taco issues, and I have had issues with my Ford and that stupid 10 speed selective automatic transmission (grenaded itself at 40K because of its "adaptive" shifting might shift hard when you beat on it but not know to slow down and shift different the next day when you drive normally on the road, thank God the power train was still under warranty so I didn't have to pay for the rebuild).Just go with the safe(est) option of Toyota, but get a last gen Taco that's already had the kinks worked out
I would rather see that than more Tacoma content.
buy a used raptoror full size. quit messing with the mid-size and go all in!
It wasn’t a TRD Pro they not even out yet
got it! This is a GMC AT commercial.....you had me for a minute there buddy!
Bro the ford ranger raptor looks so bad ass. I want one really badly. Do that one!
do a custom trailboss 3.0 dmax
I do like the ZR2, but not as much as my Tacoma
Bro. Your room is dope. I love it. What a collection. Lol
TFL just dropped their video picking up the Ranger Raptor. MSRP was $57,500 two grand less than the Canyon AT4x.
They got the youtuber discount
@@RFRacing717yes they didn’t pay the dealer mark-up but MSRP on the sticker was $57,500.
Like any car was built with people who would make money abusing them in mind. Any and all cars will fall apart in your hands.
You’re not wrong
ok hear me out what about a honda odyssey bisimoto 😍 great video im proud of you i love ya awesome ad
It's always exciting to have all these new redesigned trucks hitting the market, but the first year are two we are gonna see lots of recalls and issues from all major brands. Engineering always has some trial and error to it.
i bet the Tacoma front diff case is Aluminum.
Dial it back 20+ years ago the S10 ZR2's
If you had an Automatic, you got an Aluminum front dif., if you had a stick, you got a iron front dif.
I never blew up my front dif on my manual ZR2... and it was used (and abused) A LOT.
A lot of other stuff would break, ball joints (all the F'ing time) CV's.. but not the front dif.
ill keep my first gen
You had your Colorado for 8 years
I dont like how the new tacoma lokks, id love to get a 3rd gen someday and modify the fuck out of it
I think that the 2024 Tacoma TRD Pro would be a good change. That’s my pick.
Good luck!
You should get the ranger raptor
The front diff did not completely blow out. The automatic differential disconnect broke which is replaceable. Toyota engineers replaced the entire differential to find out what the problem is. Ford or GM wouldn’t send 20 engineers to the dealership to investigate the problem. They may not even cover it because of off road use. Get your facts straight! It wasn’t a TRD pro. They’re not available yet. It was a TRD off road. A ton of problems? I don’t think you superlatives match the circumstances.
Get a 3rd Gen TRD Pro for now. Then when all the bugs and kinks are solved on the 4th Gen, get the 4th Gen
Toyota doesn’t make mistakes. If it’s blowing up, it’s supposed to do it.
honestly Bobby, if the raptor R has the new 10 speed, I wouldn't get it, I had to get my 10 speed trans rebuilt at 40k miles because i would beat on it a little, then drive normal, then beat on it, then drive normal, and it learns your driving and adapts to it. so when you switch how to drive, it doesn't know if it should shift fast or slow and because of that, it was shifting hard when I would drive normal because it didn't adapt fast enough, or I'd go right back to beating it up...... anyway, point is, it's flawed technology that eventually lead to the transmission grenading itself. At 40k I shouldn't have to have my trans rebuild because some dumb computer shifts differently depending on how I drive, when it doesn't know how I'm going to drive each time I get behind the wheel, because it sometimes made the wrong decision, would shift hard, and end up unaliving itself. Not a Chevy fan, especially after your issues, and Toyota isn't looking promising either now..... tbh I wish Dodge/Ram would bring back the Dakota and make a Dakota Rebel or Dakota TRX, if they did, I would definitely tell you to go with that.... tbh, I think you should get an old, new to you Taco from the last generation
get you like a year 2000 tacoma! might work out better! who knows
Those had frame issues
They are built in the USA enough said. My 4runner built in Japan its a tank.
It wasn’t a Trd pro.. it was a Trd off road.
Ranger Raptors are starting at 57k. Get one!
The Ranger Raptor would be awesome!
Get a f150 5.0 i don’t trust those 2.7 or 3.5 variants tbh
Have some balls, get the Tacoma. If you break it you break it. We need to know, and its your job to find out.
Only showing you buying one 3years ago
Ranger raptor is only 60,000
Bobbie you just got the Colorado...
I wanna see you break a Ridgeline. That would be great.
Tlf has a trd offroad not a pro. Toyota boy thru and thru here, had an fj and now have a 2nd gen v6 and 3rd 4cyl tacos. Ngl I was hesitant in the 4th gen tacos but I was also with the 3rd gen when it 1st came out. Not a fan of the 3.5l v6 engines, those 4l 2nd gen motors are very reliable also there gutless 2.7l na engine that was in the 2nd and 3rd gens. All this new turbo and hybrid technology is turning me off to the 4th gen and that was before tfl exploded there front end on some mild off-roading at best.
They should stick with the old reliable V6.
Time to go back to Naturally aspirated v6 engines! Maybe Toyota should bring to Hilux diesel. I am pretty sure that Toyota Japan is going to be pissed. I also think that Toyota should have not let the Tacoma be build in Mexico until they are ready. Manufacturing may not be as good as of yet.
Dude most vehicles nowadays are trash! They’re meant to keep you in debt, trade in and repeat the process! 100k for a vehicle is an absurd amount of money for a vehicle! I’m still driving my 21 year old 2003 Silverado with 157k miles on it.
Do one of the Nissan PRO-4X's, if Altimas can drive around hanging on by a thread 24/7 then surely their trucks can take some off-road abuse!
You are just saying things.
Yes
I would never buy a car the first year comes out. It’s basically a brand new car from the ground up.
I’d say keep it low cost. Taco+ Diff is still cheaper than most other offerings 🤷♂️
lets go dodge dakota
Toyota won’t let ya hanging like Chevy has let you hang in the balance of their warranty coverage.
That was a trd off road the. Pro hasn't even been released still not good either way but if you're going to put out info Research your information before putting it out.
Nissan Frontier Pro 4 X
GMC AT4 no brainer!
Ranger raptor is not $100k it's $58k plus adm if any. That's my vote every rando is doing the taco be different.
Ranger Raptor 100%!!
