You now understand Homefries like for reactors to wait for this one. With your appreciation of their normal roles, it just seems to make this performance that much more special. It also gives you some insight into how they accomplish some of the things they do as a group.
Thanks,Leonardo for seeing the talent that Home Free brings to the table each and every time. Rob has such a sweet light tenor, but to see another side of his vocal ability, I would love to see you watch Nessun Dorma that he and Austin did on Austin's channel. You will be amazed at the talent the individuals in this group have. And despite the immense talent, there are no egos in play. That's one reason they have such loyal fans. Their music just makes you feel good.
This song is one of my favorites. So glad you waited to react to it. Your surprise at hearing the switch ups in the voices was great. Tim can sing in a beautiful higher tenor voice along with Austin & Rob. And Chance can hit the lower bass notes when needed. And Adam did a fabulous job as always with his vocal percussion. This song is sung by a woman Cam, so they sung it in a higher key to match the original.
One of the reasons that Home Fries say not to listen to this until you have become accustomed to who they are and what they do is that this messes with your mind and sense of normalcy. They take all of the expectations and turn them inside out and upside down.
Perfect reaction. Now you're more ready for "Snowglobe" next & not before Tim foust solos : Come go with me Will you still love me tomorrow/stay . 😉🫠🥰🥰
I do appreciate your stopping at the juicy parts to replay and savor the sumptuous goodness they bring to the song. Sometimes even though I hear the beautiful parts, it goes right on to the next nugget of goodness and I miss the mastery they display in the seamless blending that is part of the Home Free alchemy. I come to your channel to rediscover what the components that get lost in the ease of their presentation are so the next time I hear the song I appreciate the devotion to excellence they work so hard to present. Another great reaction! Thanks.
Home Frees' musical intuitions are spot on every time. There are no egos in the group and in my opinion that's why they create such awesome music. Showing off for the sake of showing off just isn't a thing with them. They serve the music instead of trying to make the music serve them. All of them are multi talented and skilled. Thanks for a great reaction. I love the line, "They are the Jackie Chan of a cappella." They don't need instruments. awesome description.
GREAT REACTION!! Really love the Jackie Chan reference ( my favourite actor ) and I agree with you. If you want to see more of Tim’s range watch his Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow/Stay
First time listener here... and new subscriber! I really appreciate your understanding of the video and how you spotted each thing that I've seen in this over many, many viewings. I loved how you called out the intricacies that I have grown to love from Home Free. I really enjoyed your reaction and analysis! Thanks! I would really LOVE to hear you react/analyze Home Free's Butts Remix... this is a really fun compilation of songs that I think you'd appreciate, done in HF's most excellent way. Please try it out.
Another great song where you get a lot of individual leads is American Pie - the 50 year remake with Don Mclean, at his request! Also stellar marathon drumming by Adam Rupp.
agree … Agree … AGREE with you and I loved your reaction! 😁👏👏👏👏 The talent with these five men is amazing! There are so many more songs that show more facets to these guys! Have fun!!!! Just’a Home Fry!
This is their technical masterpiece. Plus it's a total brain teaser. We love seeing people get ready for it so we can watch heads explode! Great comments! Than you for sharing your journey. Now when you listen to Austin's Bring Him Home, Tim's Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow/Stay and Rob and Austin's Nessun Dorma you will fully understand the WOW! :]
This has been one of my favorites for a long time now. Love the bounce there is to it and all the weaving of voices. This reaction gets 10 Archies from me!
If you want to see what Tim can do with his overall range, checkout his solo single, Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow/ Stay. He really gets to show off his 5 octave range in that song.
Your comments made me able to finally define one of the things that puts Home Free at the top of the list for me. They have amazing vocal talents but they don’t do vocal gymnastics just for attention. Each is a part of a whole. Now you’re ready to react to Tim’s solo stuff, particularly Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow/Stay from his doo-wop album. Tim, Austin, and Chance have their own channels where they do solo stuff and collaborate with other musicians. Austin and Tim also have a side project called Sweet + Low where they regularly join in with a core set of very talented musicians plus various “guests.” They are acquiring lots of Sweet Peas and Low Lifes while we get to watch them jam.
Carol is spot on. I’ve watched reactions on this for a while now and this is my favorite breakdown and articulates the brilliance of the arrangement, vocal talent, and overall performance of the song in a way that I haven’t yet heard before. Great job and nice commentary Carol!
Time for some Chance leads. “I Can’t Outrun You”-5 part harmony,Chance directed the video, and it’s hauntingly beautiful. “Cover Me Up “, gorgeous harmonies and beautifully subtle percussion by Adam. “Some Girls Do”, “Born in the USA”; Chance also plays guitar on this. “Workin’ for a Livin’”, a fun rendition the Huey Lewis and the News song.
Note for Cover Me Up: DON'T assume the video is done because the song is over. There is a very special message at the end. In fact, that goes for many, many videos by Home Free, Austin Brown, Tim Foust, VoicePlay, and Geoff Castallucci. They often add a message or some insight to the song or a thank you for their fans.
Great reaction! This song is so beautiful!! Definitly one of my favorites! You should definitly listen to their sing 'Crazy'. I think you'll appreciate that song!!!
Each member is talented, and I love that they allow each person to shine. Tim has an amazing range! just when you think you have HF figured out, they leave you mind blown AGAIN. Love the reactions.
This is the song with surprises. It's incredible. All the switches they do is amazing. Super sung. The really great, but inhuman Adam. Tim's tenor, Chance's deep bass. And Rob and Austin taking a different pitch too. Home Free is THE group for me. They are so great, but still keep their own identity. No egos.
I agree with you , they have Beautiful voices, Harmony is perfect!! I am like you Leo I think this one is the best so far!! Tina from Missouri!! 💕🙏💖👏🥰🥰
Wow! I've watched this video 60-80 times but today I got a whole new appeeciation for the song, I love music because of how it makes me feel but I couldn't tell you a thing about the composition Today you helped a lot with that and gave ne a whole new apprecitaton for the the song. Cheers!
What a great analogy! The Jackie Chan of acapella groups is spot on. Not only do they do their own vocal gymnastics but they are so funny too. A great reaction sir! You are moving quickly to the top of my list of reactors to watch. I second Nessen Dorma next on Austin Brown's channel.
Your description of Home Free as the Jackie Chan of a cappella because they do their own stunts, is my absolute favorite line I've heard since I started watching reactors, Thank You!!!! Mayday has been on my favorite list since the very first time I heard it, this song by HF is phenomenal in my opinion. 🥰
Go back and watch Adam. Many people miss it but what sounds like claps is him! Earlier in the video, the clap sounds you hear (when no one is clapping) you can see Adam do his gesture at that exact moment. So...yeah, he can replicate claps as well! LOL The talent is insane.
Loved this! I've always said that Home Free has a song focus while many of the other groups seem to have more of a singer focus. That, for me, is what makes Home Free stand out.
I’m glad you finally got to hear Chance. He has an exceptional voice. This is probably my over all favorite HF song, but my favorite with Chance on lead is I Can’t Outrun You. They are just exceptional.
They are so amazing! It seems a capella groups are all I listen to anymore. Between the amazing Home Free, awesome Pentatonix and recent Voice Play masterpieces, I have little time for most other music! Add Vocative into the mix and Wow! 💖
I have heard a lot of people do reactions to Home Free, but you are one of the few that get them. You notice ever nuance, their talent, and you get their humor when their songs allow it. One of the greatest reactions I have ever heard and truly enjoyed!
The fact that Home Free has basically two of every thing allows them to do things that none of the other groups can. That and the fact that they all have such huge ranges just makes them unbeatable in my book. Even Rupp can sing amazingly if you can just get him to do it. LOL
You mean; at least two of everything, right? Or as I like to put it… Home Free breakdown… Beatboxers - 5 (including 1 freak of nature) Tenors - 5 Baritones - at least 3 (pretty sure they can all get into baritone range, though… Basses - at least 2 (I mean, have you heard those bass notes Adam hits while beatboxing?) 😂😂
Cam released it originally .... she is both SMOKING HOT visually as well as incredibly talented in vocal ability !!! She would love what she could not be - FIVE phenomenal voices = BRILLIANT !
This reminds me of TIm in concert. Getting in the tenor's upper ranges. Going so high octave that the rest of the group just stop. Then they stop Tim as he hits those high notes. They all point to the floor saying "There." Tim hits one of the lowest notes I have ever heard all the out to G1.
Austin's high vocal flips are done with so much ease, you'd think he's just talking. And I love that when he flips up he flips completely out of his accent. This whole cover is a Tenor/Soprano's dream...I love it, definitely in the range I prefer to hang out in. This is also a range I love to hear Tim sing in. "Chef's Kiss" from all of them. ❤
I have had the distinct pleasure of seeing them 5 times over 4 states, and they are more than worth the travel! Thanks for a great reaction and analysis.
Leonardo, you have such an affinity for catching the little things that many people kinda know is there, but can't explain. You bring a lot of joy to your commentary, and as a musician, I give you eleven Archies! And a sub!
Oh my goodness - The Jackie Chan of a cappella! 😂 That was brilliant! Great visual and succinct explanation. Tim’s tenor is beautiful. This was sung in the same key the original singer, Cam, a soprano, sang in. Chance was the bass for his last group. The change-ups is one reason Home Fries recommend waiting until reactors know their “usual” roles. All of these guys are incredibly versatile.
Obviously you didn't know that Chance is actually a bass. His group before he came to Home Free was called Street Corner Symphony and Chance was the bass. Infact his group was one season 2 of The Sing Off and they got second. Truly enjoyed watching your reaction to this song.
Tim was the tenor for one of his previous vocal groups. Chance was the bass for his previous vocal group, but chance can do tenor as well, although he usually sings baritone for Home Free. Chance can do some excellent instrument sounds too. Check out Can't Stop the Feeling in which they do an instrumental interlude.
I haven't heard these guys before, but I love your Reaction and have been watching all your videos all evening and sharing with my family and friends. Your analysis is such a highlight.
We don’t like to recommend this one until people know their voices. Tim does have a 5 octave range and he was singing the tenor parts and then Chance took over the bass. The old switcheroo. Love their waterfall tones or bell tones they use. Love this one. Good reaction Leonardo. I subscribed! (Thought I had already….sorry)😄
Interesting to think about who does the arrangements for their songs: sometimes it's one of the individual members (the one who suggested the song?), sometimes it's their producer, sometimes it's an outsider (maybe from another vocal group?), sometimes it's one member arranging one section of the song and another member doing another section. So the arranging and variety of arrangers is another element of Home Free's uniqueness!
Love this one, song is a bop (with sad subject matter), the swelling harmonies, Adam masterful as always - but mostly, the decision to sing it in the same key as Cam's original was just brilliant. Aside from the fun of Tim and Chance flexing, just an overall lovely cover.
Love seeing you appreciate this amazing group. Couple that I don't think you have gotten to that you will like. One Man Band and Blue Ain't Your Color Chance gets a turn in both and you will see dance moves OLE!. Also for a equal or better arramgnnt to Mayday try Do You Hear What I Hear.
Just stumbled upon your reaction channel. I am loving your analysis of each voice especially your description of what they do as "the Jackie Chan of Acapella". That describes perfectly their amazing abilities. I love Jackie Chan and his innovative martial art styling, yet he is not untrained and disciplined....neither is Home Free. Each member is a master on his own, yet work seamlessly together amplifying each other's gifts in beautiful renderings. Sigh. Yes, the video is too short, but fortunately there are plenty of others to scratch that Home Fry-itch. You are the first reactor I have subscribed to that I did not hesitate or double think my decision. Not only that, but I intend to hit replay as soon as I finish these comments, which is a first. I hope to hear many more reactions of Home Free, Voice Play, The Bass Gang and the solo artists from each group. It is looking to be a long, enjoyable season. Btw, Acapella is my primary interest, but I am also quite fond of 2 Cellos (though they have gone separate paths currently), Marcin Patrzalek (guitar phenom), The Hu (Mongolian Rock Metal band, truly astonishing and unique), Jonathan Young, Peter Hollens, The Hound and the Fox, Avi Kaplan (formerly bass for PTX)....any of these individuals music is not to be missed. Some are up-and-coming, others well established, but seldom lauded as they should be. I will be checking out your playlist to see what interests you, and hope to hear more from you soon. Thank you. Peace
I love you reactions to the series The Chosen🥰 Since you're reacting to Homefree you should react to Pentatonix Acapella group songs Amazing Grace and also The Prayer! Season 4 of The Chosen needs to get here🤣🤣🤣🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
"The Jackie Chan of a cappella": I heard another reactor say they were the Wutang of a cappella (in response to their performance of "American Pie" with Don McLean).
Great comments! Love the Jacky Chan comparison. They are ABSOLUTELY the David Copperfield of vocal magicians. Chance’s velvet, (wrap me up in flannel) tone is beautiful. So glad he is being used more in a front position. He is the Jews harp sound, prominent at the beginning and end of “Man of Constant Sorrow “, using his overtone (Mongolian throat singing) skill. His #2 bass, and mid-ranges really fill in the foundation for the magic. Check out “One Man Band”. To see Chance kick it off. (Really great video set, and camera work, as well). None of these guys are of this earth.
You now understand Homefries like for reactors to wait for this one. With your appreciation of their normal roles, it just seems to make this performance that much more special. It also gives you some insight into how they accomplish some of the things they do as a group.

This one is a favorite of many reactors, but that having been said, your analysis is one of the best I have seen. Well done, sir!
And you absolutely have to check out Rob and Austin doing the aria "Nessun Dorma"...
That’s why they are top of the tier in a cappella groups………….grade A, #1 !!

Thank you. Peace
The Jackie Chan of a capella! YES!!!
Tim sings this entire song in the tenor range while Chance carries the bass.
This is one of my favorites. Please react to Austin's solo work, Bring Him Home from Les Mis. He studied Musical Theater in college and shows it off.
GREAT SONG INSPIREING
I love you reactions to the series The Chosen🥰 Since you're reacting to Homefree you should react to Pentatonix Acapella group songs Amazing Grace and also The Prayer! Season 4 of The Chosen needs to get here🤣🤣🤣🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
"The Jackie Chan of a cappella": I heard another reactor say they were the Wutang of a cappella (in response to their performance of "American Pie" with Don McLean).
Two reactions into your channel. I'm a Home Fry and you're an auto subscribe.
Thank you so much!
