This is why the Fries always want reactors to wait a while for this one. The all have amazing ranges. I just love the voice switch videos. This was so fun. Many people know Tim can sing high as well as so low. But Chance sang bass in his last group. His smooth tones cover for Tim when Tim takes lead and Chance is a perfect harmonic balance for Rob as well. There are so many more beautiful harmonies you haven’t heard yet. I don’t think you’ve heard their solo channels either. Chance just released “drivers license” on his channel. Beautiful. Thanks for your reaction
I agree Tracy. When I introduce this song to new poeple it's usually after 5-6 Home Free songs after their initial "man of constant sorrow" brain implosion. I don't wan't to be held accountable for turning somebody's brain to grape jelly because I took them from MoCS to this. I also advise them to have a spotter, a doctor and other general support staff on hand just in case. Mainly because - you think you're ready. But no, you aint ready...
As others have mentioned go to Austin Brown's channel and lister to him and Tim sing My Maria. I know it from back in 1973. The song hit the pop chart then. As far as Mayday......this song is one of their best. Adam kills the percussion!!!
Best version of My Maris I have heard and I remember the BW Stevenson version when it came out in 1973. That’s why was momentarily surprised when Austin and Tim said it was a Brooks & Dunn cover, but that happens a lot with music over the last 30 years. No one remembers the originals from the 60’s through the 80’s.
Travis I hope you see this...Look to react to Home Free's cover of Sawyer Brown's "Some Girls Do" Chance gets to shine again and he does a couple of bass drops too !!! It's AWESOME
The next one for the whole group would be "I Can't Outrun You" which features Chance. Tim and Austin did a fantastic job on "My Maria" and Austin just did an incredible job on "Tears in Heaven". Love to see people's reaction to Tim and Chance on "Mayday". It's priceless! Great job, Travis.
Now THAT was a great reaction! It was so good I watched it twice! That's rare for me but it was worth it cuz I loved it even more the second time. Now you see why the Fries "gently" encouraged you to wait for this one. I'm glad the time was finally right for you to get floored like the rest of us. This one is loaded with slaps. First, Tim with that sweet tenor ya never knew about. Then Austin just killin' the chorus. Then Rob....mmmm....you know...followed by Austin nailing the second chorus even harder and then kickin' it up a few more notches for the bridge while Adam drops into a half-time feel for an even deeper groove (likely one of several times ya hafta remind yerself that the awesome "drum" parts are all coming outta his face!) and when that peaks out we're left in Chance's beastly hands for the BIG bomb! Tim adding a higher harmony to Rob's ending part was easy to miss but that's what the rascal did. Freakin' freaks all I tell ya! But hey, a good slappin' never felt so right eh? Good job Travis. Welcome to the Mayday Club!
Now you understand why we said you were ready. When reactors listen to Mayday before they really know the group, they simply don’t appreciate it! Have you seen the Home Free funny concert videos? Their guilty pleasures derailed is fantastic. Adam Rupp’s ‘drum’ solo is mind blowing. ❤️
Totally agree with lynn! We gotta get you onto some of their live performances. Guilty pleasures for sure, and story time with Tim-the whip/nae nae story. Lol. And definitely Adam's drum solo. These guys are hilarious, and totally fabulous all at the same time. 🥰
Tim has a 5 octave range. And Chance actually is a bass singer, but does baritone for them. That is of course if he isn't covering the bass line when Tim sings lead. Your facial expressions were great, loved to see the shock on your face. Truly enjoyed watching your reaction to this song.
Travis, see why we wanted you to wait a bit, and get to know what the guys usually do. It blows people away, especially when they hear Chance. This also why Chance coming to the group was so important. Chris could do a few notes in bass but Chance was a professional bass with Street Corner Symphony before joining Home Free as their regular baritone. But because he is a bass too he can drop down, carry bass and allow Tim to explore his higher range. IT MADE HOME FREE BETTER !!!! I agree with others go to Austin Brown channel and react to Austin & Tim singing "My Maria"...best version I have heard of that one !!! Also listen to the endm past the music as Tim & Austin have some things that might be of interest to you !!!! By the way another AWESOME shirt :)
I agree. Love this as is highlights everyones Amazing abilities & is also in the same key as Cam's original. I'm glad you got to enjoy the surprise. Chance has been a wonderful addition to Home Free, though I love Chris Rupp as well. I think he's been practising his bass notes if you listen to his recent solo version of Amazing Grace. Pretty awesome bass and showcases range.
Now you see why we all said wait til you knew their voices well. Lol. I love the surprise! Tim has a 5 octave range and Chance was the bass in his former group, Street Corner Symphony, but I have a sneaking suspicion that Tim probably worked with him a bit for that low note. 🙂. They do all sound so good in this song, and I'm with you - I love it!
Love the look on your face both times whenTim and Chance surprised you!! Adams beatboxing anchored the whole song! Home Free just loves to mess with their fans once in a while!! Fun reaction!!
hahahahaha! I have watched maybe a hundred people react to this and of course, no one's reaction is any better than yours!!! You are so invested in the music, the guys, and we all sit waiting for people to realize Tim is up there to start, the others and backgrounds and Adam incredible. And then you get socked with Chance and his incredible low bass part. The whole thing is just a masterpiece right down to the fade out! Still probably our family's favorite. The littlest one learned every word in the car before me when she was about 5 or 6 years old! lol. Thanks so much for making my day better!
YES!!! I literally did a happy dance when I saw this video pop up. It's not called their holy grail video for nothing. It is literal perfection, showcases each of them perfectly, and those insane harmonies!! I doubt anything will ever top this as their #1 video for me ever. Now I would love to see you do Dive Bar Saints & Catch Me if You Can, two of my fav originals. There is also a connection to these two videos, so it's fun to watch them in that order (and not too far apart)
Glad you waited to listen to this one... your reaction was priceless. This is one of my favorite Home Free songs... I agree with the others that say you need to go to Austin's channel and see him and Tim sing "My Maria"
Wooooo Hoooooo!!!!! Finally! Your face though!!! 😳😳😳🤣 Freaking LOOOOVE IT! 🥰🥰 Absolutely mind blowing, isn't it?! Now you completely understand why we say "NO MAYDAY--NOT YET!" LOL Home Fries KNOW what we're saying. 😘
We always tell new reactors to hold off with this one , it´s funny for us to see you get that WTF moment first with Tim and then here comes Chance LOL Austin says Tim sings almost as high as he does and with a smile he says it´s really not fair
Travis, I think you had the fastest catch on Tim singing tenor. It usually takes a line or 2 before the WTF factor clicks in. Home Free really got a great deal when Chance came into the group. Not saying they were bad before, they weren't. But having 5 men that can sing in the tenor range and then having 2 solid basses, gives them a versatility that you'll rarely see. Like in this song, Cam is a female country artist and they sang it in her key. And Tim doesn't sing bass in this song, it's all Chance! When Chance hits the low notes I think of it as the Chance bass drop =jaw drop. It's often the 1st time people hear him sing bass unless they know his history before Home Free. Great reaction! We're here for more! ❤
Almost forgot, you really should check out Austin Brown and Tim Foust singing "My Maria" on a deck in someone's back yard. Will knock your socks off. Take care, keep up the great work.
"Holy Shar-pei, my dog is half Shar-pei!" Haha! the best reaction ever! Yes Tim was part of the 3 front tenors and Chance was dropping the bass. This shows how vocally versatile they are. The beatboxing was insane too, this gave me legit chill bumps when I first heard it.
I agree, this is one of my favorites. So glad you waited to react to it. Your surprise at hearing the switch ups in the voices was great. Tim can sing in a beautiful higher tenor voice along with Austin & Rob. And Chance can hit the lower bass notes when needed. And Adam did a fabulous job as always with his vocal percussion. This song is sung by a woman Cam, so they sung it in a higher key to match the original.
As you loved Tim's high range check out there snow globe it is a Christmas song but is amazing also my Maria by Austin and Tim and Chris is beautiful and Tim again will wow you in it great reaction as always 🤗
This was the song that got me first hooked on Homefree. I have at least 1000 of the veiws on their channel . I then fell down the 🐇 hole and still haven't found my way out. Great reaction. Love your comments ❤
As long as I've been a fan of Home Free, they consistently surprise me! From the way they sometimes rearrange a song or just change it up to blowing us away with one or more of them revealing yet another previously unknown element of their immense talent. Individually, they are all so incredibly gifted, so when you bring them together, their cohesiveness is unmatched in my opinion... A Capella or otherwise! They fit perfectly together like intricately cut puzzle pieces...Each is one of a kind and multifaceted, yet they piece together seamlessly. You can hear it in their music and see it in the way they are when together. Ive always loved all kinds of music but these guys are just something special. They exude positivity, happiness, and I believe they honestly love and believe in what they do, how they do it, and the people they do it for. Sorry about the extended comment but I've been wanting to say this for a while and I guess today was the day lol!! I dont have to say I enjoyed the reaction because obviously it brought my emotions to the surface...Thanks again. Good vibes going out to you, Travis, and to Home Free...and to all of you they touch with their music!❤❤❤
The first time I heard this one, my mouth was wide open the entire time. I LOVE this song, but then again I love all Home Free's songs. They are ALL so talented. Tim's range is incredible.
That is why people constantly say that he is a 5 Octave singer. You are not the first to be surprised at Tim's voice. But, everyone should have known. But we are suppose to trust them? And everyone knew that Adam was the Bass for his last group. 2 and 2 people. (Not directed at just you, Travis. Directed towards everybody who tries to Pretend that they were surprised.
Travis, your reaction was so great. Now you know why everyone said to wait. This was absolutely fantastic. But go back & check the original by CAM as well. Can't wait for your next reaction. Thanks.
This is also one of my very favorite Home Free songs! And you got it right off the bat with Tim starting the song off singing in his higher voice. The juxtaposition of Tim singing high and Adam Chance singing low is what sets this song apart - and the reason we wanted you to wait for awhile to react to it. You had to really know these guys and their "usual" abilities to really appreciate it! Great reaction!
Before Chance came to Home Free as baritone, he was bass for Street Corner Symphony. See their versions of Hard to Handle, Madness, and Uptown Funk, all with Adam Chance as bass.
Love the reactions to the 5-octave high range for Tim. Yes, it is confusing the first time you realize that someone who usually is taking the role of the standing bass is singing in high tenor. (Bless him for the work he does to maintain it!) Strongly recommend Dive Bar Saints. Chance takes the lead, and the setup in the video is beautiful. Everyone has that place where you know you are always welcome and they will take care of you. It's an original by Tim. I also recommend It Looks Good. It's a feel-good original from Tim, with shared lead among Tim, Rob & Austin. It is both an anthem about hanging with the friends and a salute to their respective wives and girlfriends, and the love that they have for them. For another "did I just hear that?", try the recently-released cover of Crazy, originally by Patsy Cline. Austin sings in the same key and register that she did.
The less obvious reasons this is snot entry level Home Free: 1. The group has shied away from "unhappy" songs in many cases. Chance's arrival has emboldened everyone. 2. This was a step off onto "Dive Bar Saints," which was almost totally original material. That record was so important to the group that the tour resumption still refers to Dive Bar Saints even though they have gone on to release TWO new records since then.
I've just binge watched pretty much all your HF reactions and love you for waiting on the most requested and this one for so long into the journey so you can truly appreciate it! One that I can't believe you haven't done yet is the Butts Remix (Medley), please do that one soon as I'm sure you won't be disappointed. Other favourites of mine are Helplessly Hoping, Honey I'm Good, and Sold. I hope you do a Christmas music season, HF have some of the absolute best to offer.
Thanks so much for a great reaction to this song. Absolutely amazing what you just were able to see what is always a surprise to everyone. Tim and Chance just bringing it in a way you weren't expecting. Several people have mentioned Austin and Tim with the song...My Maria...it is so dang good. So here is another request. Thanks again.
Yep, My Maria (MareeeEEEEE)! This is one of my favs by them as well, of course, you can't go wrong with these guys! Have you done any Geoff Castellucci with Geoff Castellucci? 16 Tons? Blackbirds? House of the Rising Sun? JUST DOIT!
Home Free is really a group with two accomplished basses that have very high and beautiful ranges, and two equally talented tenors who can sing baritone. Adam Rupp can sing bass and tenor, but you hear his range with his sounds that range from very low sounds to very high horns, with probably the world’s best vocal percussion talent. They are a country accapella group that can sing anything. Both Tim and Chance were bass singers in groups that did not do country music before Home Free. Austin did musical theater.
I'm so glad you reacted to this one!! One of my favorites by them for sure! I knew you'd love it! Today is my birthday and it made me happy to see you do this one! when Christmas is closer you should check out their version of "oh holy nigh"
Tim has a freakish range, it's so awesome. So clear, so good - that's great. My first reaction to the song was similar to yours. The guys did a fantastic job here. You have to check out My Maria by Austin and Tim. Good reaction, love it!
Yup. We love this. Reactors think...Austin will do a run...Tim will do an epic bass note...the harmonies will be beautiful. It's great to see that shocked expression when you realize what it happening.
Tim is able to sing like five octaves higher than his lowest register. The harmony alone is worth hearing this. Add the killer vocals to it and then the beatboxing..........it’s a masterpiece!!! EPIC.
Love this reaction! My thoughts exactly, it's like they played fruit basket turnover with the parts. I like this much better than the original, and I loved that.
Holy Sharpei! Hahaha. Yeah they pulled the old switcheroo on ya with Tim going high and Chance going low. Tim has that 5 octave range and Chance was the bass of his former group so they are good at it. So good. It’s one of my favorites of theirs. Ok now for some bass try I Can’t Outrun You with Chance leading. It’s so good. Loved your reaction Travis.
you may or may not have caught that Tim was singing melody at the end. Adam Chance was doing the bassline! :D this has to be one of my favs of Home Free as well. Glad you can add it to your playlist. :)
I'd love if you listened to a couple of very different, mesmerizing, even jaw-dropping numbers the guys have done: "Helplessly Hoping" and "Everybody Walkin' This Land". Especially the second, the most "controversial" (they avoid that) song they've done, but well worth it.
See why we needed you to wait to listen to this one? It's way less impressive if you don't know them and their normal ranges. If you want another ear-ful delight, listen to their cover of Zootopia's "Try Everything." Not only was it one of the first videos/songs with Adam Chance, but there is a segment towards the middle where (I think) Rob/Chance?, Tim, and Austin sing some tight three-part harmony but if you listen closely, Austin goes low and Tim and Rob/Chance sing above him. It's fun!
3 seconds in WHAT??
30 seconds in "I'm so confused"
Yep
And then there's Chance.
Love that you eyes almost fell out of your head. Haha
Next you should try Austin & Tim sing “My Maria” prepare yourself for a surprise.
Absolutely! You should also check out "Snow Globe" and "Warmest Winter" which are originals of Home Free
I second that!
Yep!
Do it!
For sure!
As others have mentioned go to Austin Brown's channel and lister to him and Tim sing My Maria. I know it from back in 1973. The song hit the pop chart then.
As far as Mayday......this song is one of their best. Adam kills the percussion!!!
Yes My Maria is an absolute must!
Oh yes!!! It's sooooo fantastic!! They sound amazing together.
Also, Austin does a beautiful version of unchained Melody on his channel. 😍🥰
@@williamlegg2796 me too. Never heard Brooks and Dunne version as Home Free are my only country group.
my man trying to keep it family friendly :x
Waiting for THAT moment, the Chance moment, YES, worth the wait!
Exactly and a perfect true reaction to Tim....."that's Tim" and the ooo mmmmy shar-pei😅🐽😮😳💝
Travis I hope you see this...Look to react to Home Free's cover of Sawyer Brown's "Some Girls Do" Chance gets to shine again and he does a couple of bass drops too !!! It's AWESOME
Yes! Tim is an alien!!!!!!!!!! Chance was the bass for his old group
Tim went in that morning and said I'll sing tenor and Chance you sing bass 😂
😂😂😂😂😂
Derailed version is not so funny when you don’t know how it’s supposed to go..
Tim has a 5 octave range. And Chance actually is a bass singer, but does baritone for them. That is of course if he isn't covering the bass line when Tim sings lead. Your facial expressions were great, loved to see the shock on your face. Truly enjoyed watching your reaction to this song.

They do all sound so good in this song, and I'm with you - I love it!
That low note is not that low. It just sounds low because of the stark contrast.
Chances lowest chest note is a G1, he's easily hit B1s and Bb1s in the past, I doubt he even had to think about it
Did you notice the amazing percussion in this one? Adam did such an amazing job.
I sure did , I even mentioned it ! 🙃
My favorite Home Free song! I've been waiting to see you get to this one! Glad you loved it too!
Love the look on your face both times whenTim and Chance surprised you!! Adams beatboxing anchored the whole song! Home Free just loves to mess with their fans once in a while!! Fun reaction!!

Travis there comes a point in time where the Holy Shit makes sense.

Amazing is the word !!!!! An amazingly talented group of men 🥰

Do you really want to find your way out of this rabbit hole? I sure don't.... I'm very happy here!
Could not WAIT for you go work your way to this one. This is why you were advised to wait. Loved watching your face. Aren't they phenomenal?
If I remember right I read somewhere that they sang it in the same key as Cam. 👻💀

Glad you finally did Mayday. I know it's already been said but you need to do My Maria with Austin and Tim.
Somehow everyone misses the end, where Tim is pulling the high harmony for the tenors. He's insane!
You were shooketh. 😁
I love your reactions to them ~ this was priceless!! Aren't they just so incredible?? Sooo much talent, every single one of them!
Oh my word!! Amazing performance. Best yet!!
I keep bouncing between VoicePlay and Home Free. Love them both.
Travis, your reaction was so great. Now you know why everyone said to wait. This was absolutely fantastic. But go back & check the original by CAM as well. Can't wait for your next reaction. Thanks.
Chance is also wonderful in Can’t Outrun You.
Also "Cover Me Up".
One if my favorites. Beautiful through and through.
What can you say.... the boys are amazing. Great reaction.
That was a 10/10 reaction! So satisfying!
The fact that you waited so many reactions in was awesome!
ME TOO! ME TOO! ME TOOO! This is top 5 for sure for me. Love it better than original artist. They shine so bright in this one.
Before Chance came to Home Free as baritone, he was bass for Street Corner Symphony. See their versions of Hard to Handle, Madness, and Uptown Funk, all with Adam Chance as bass.
Perfect reaction!!! 😄👍
Now check out "I Can't Outrun You". ❤️
Love the reactions to the 5-octave high range for Tim. Yes, it is confusing the first time you realize that someone who usually is taking the role of the standing bass is singing in high tenor. (Bless him for the work he does to maintain it!)
Strongly recommend Dive Bar Saints.
They all look so FIIIINE in this video! Just absolutely gorgeous! Plus when they sound like THAT on top of it! *dies happy *
This is one of my favorites from Home Free, and it is fun to see people react to it. This song further proves how talented each of them really are.
Now you know why you were told to wait. Can we say SHOOK!! Love it!!
Now, you gotta do "thinking outloud/Let's Get It On" Mashup. 😉😍
Good catch with the Holy sharpei... :D
The less obvious reasons this is snot entry level Home Free:
Wow, well I wasn't expecting that! Holy Sharpei indeed! 😂 That was so good 🤯
OMG Travis. I had the worst day and came home to find this!!!! I'm so happy right now. I knew this would blow you away. Best reaction yet!❤❤
Awesome Travis!!! Your reaction was everything I hoped it would be! 😁 💜
We knew you was going to love this one. Such a great reaction
the sheer level of talent and ability in these 5 guys is shocking!
Wait until you hear it in the car! It’s my fave to sing along with the guys.
Great reaction!
I loved your reaction. It was great. I always have a smile while listening to this and you smiled the entire time. I love these guys too.
If you like Tim's high range, check out Snow globe.
Great reaction. Loved the way you tried not to swear. This is one of my favorites. Tim’s vocal range is amazing.
And now you know! PERFECT reaction, exactly what we wanted! Thank you Travis.
This is probably my favorite Home Free cover. 💚
🔥I have a suggestion, it's an older one from them, and so far I've only seen one reaction to it: American kids. Please😊
Lovely reaction! Thank you.
You should watch the new video: Austin Brown and Tim Foust sing "My Maria". They're in Austin's backyard.
Absolutely loved your reaction to Home Free's cover to May Day!! It'll take a few days to get the smile off my face. You rocked this reaction!!
It's easy to forget that Adam Chance was the bass for Street Corner Symphony.
I'm so glad you reacted to this one!! One of my favorites by them for sure! I knew you'd love it! Today is my birthday and it made me happy to see you do this one! when Christmas is closer you should check out their version of "oh holy nigh"
Rob is even moreee gorgeouse in the "End of the road"! ;)
Tim has a freakish range, it's so awesome. So clear, so good - that's great. My first reaction to the song was similar to yours. The guys did a fantastic job here. You have to check out My Maria by Austin and Tim. Good reaction, love it!
I've been waiting for you go finally do this, and it was everything I wanted it to be!!!! Thanks Travis!!!
EPIC.
I am glad you waited! You made me giggle! Thanks for the great reaction!
I LOVE watching reactors to this song!! The shock at Tim and Chance 🤣🤣
One of my favorites!
Tim actually has a 5 octave range! It's absolutely amazing!!
You are concited ❤️💙❤️💙❤️ Confused and excited !
Loved your reaction to this - Now you see why we wanted you to wait a little! And yes Rob is amazing too. I love his voice x
I'd love if you listened to a couple of very different, mesmerizing, even jaw-dropping numbers the guys have done: "Helplessly Hoping" and "Everybody Walkin' This Land". Especially the second, the most "controversial" (they avoid that) song they've done, but well worth it.
You are just the sweetest thing! I love seeing your reaction to my favorite group! Thank you so much! Love and hugs!
💜💜💜💜
See why we needed you to wait to listen to this one? It's way less impressive if you don't know them and their normal ranges. If you want another ear-ful delight, listen to their cover of Zootopia's "Try Everything." Not only was it one of the first videos/songs with Adam Chance, but there is a segment towards the middle where (I think) Rob/Chance?, Tim, and Austin sing some tight three-part harmony but if you listen closely, Austin goes low and Tim and Rob/Chance sing above him. It's fun!
Absolutely brilliant & so different from the other Home Free songs too!! All of their voices are incredible, & what a surprise from Tim & Adam!! xx
