- In this Mumbo Jumbo Minecraft video, we take a look at 50 ways Minecraft is different to real life. Minecraft VS real life is a fun discussion, as Minecraft shares many similarities but also enormous differences to IRL. Minecraft Steve would have bigger arms than Arnold, Minecraft Mountains aren't Mountains, and Minecraft diamonds are too big. Realistic Minecraft isn't that realistic, Minecraft IRL isn't realistic, Minecraft isn't real!

“Skeletons don’t exist” this confirms Mumbo is boneless
Just like all good things in life. Like Potatoes
This confirms we are all boneless
I was going to make a joke about this, but I knew someone else had probably already done it.
Skeletons confirmed as Not Real. 💀 It's all in your head.

I'd like a Mumbo Bucket tbh
I'd like to imagine that Mumbo tried all these things to make sure they didn't work in real life.

Actually, the size of minecraft's mountains makes a lot of sense if the gravity is really strong because the higher the gravity of the planet, the shorter mountains can be, and if the atmosphere is thin it would make sense for the mountains to be snow capped even if they're short. So in a way it's actually pretty realistic for a planet with really high gravity like minecraft to be the way minecraft is!
The problem with this is that minecraft's gravity is clearly whacky, as players, blocks, items, and tnt all experience different accelerations when falling, despite clearly having negligible mass differences relative to the minecraft planet. The player actually does experience somewhat higher gravity, but the rest of those actually experience LESS gravity than earth.
@@ritasonka330 actually, although the player does experience higher gravity just after falling, your velocity stabilizes much quicker than in real life, where you can reach much higher speeds

6:27 Another interesting tidbit about TNT: if 1 block of TNT is 1.6 tonnes, then an entire double chest filled with 54 shulker boxes each filled with 27 stacks of TNT blocks would have a yield of 152,372.2 tonnes.
For comparison, the bomb that was dropped on Hiroshima was 13,607 tonnes.

Yes. Mumbo burning himself is classic.
And we All know that a video that starts with the phrase “This is a stupid Video” is very classic mumbo
Let's not forget the fact that if one minecraft block is one meter, one minecraft world has more surface area than Neptune. The planet.
7:29 I would’ve started dying if he said “wow that cow is a true gem” afterwards
I would LOVE to watch Mumbo talk about 50 oddly accurate things about Minecraft.

So glad Mumbo is able to do these fun blip videos again. He genuinely sounds like he's having fun again!
mormons won't like the "you probably won't respawn when you die" part
Then they need to stop moving their beds around and leave them in one spot.
Would love a sequel to this about 50 things which are similar
Bonus fact for the lava bucket thing. Mostly for when you were sitting in it afterwards.
Lava is very dense. Molten rock is less dense than it's solid counterpart, but rock is rock, and you would sit, burning, on the surface of the lava, perhaps molding a dent into the top at best.
mm... lava memory foam mattress.
Forbidden bed
Funny how when Sandy Circus sinks into lava in LotR, the ring floats, when it would really be the other way around
Atleast I know that I wouldn't be consumed if I tripped onto lava, I would just get third degree burns on one side of my body and possibly burn to death.
@@jwalster9412 Your skin would melt and adhere to the surface of the lava as you struggle to stand up. Skin is pretty lipid heavy so basically think bacon in a frying pan except its you and probably not part of a nostalgic breakfast (though it may smell like one).
I'm glad Mumbo is working on random stuff he's inspired to do rather than feeling forced to make Hermitcraft.
Same. I'd love to see him back, since I believe he has never said that hes dropping it, and I expect hes doing it at least some behind the scenes during the crossover, but even if not, it's good that hes back at all because that means he didnt completely burn himself out of it.

I am sorry to see that as your replies, I hope they go away, and I also agree with you

The funny part about fall damage and water in Minecraft is that water actually acts in a opposite manner in real life depending on how high you've jumped from, from the top of a house into a meter of water (all full blocks are 1m cubed) is probably safe even though you will feel it but hitting it at higher speeds is more akin to slamming head first into concrete and will more likely than not kill you.
Yeah it's why when people dive from a higher point they either go straight in headfirst or feet first to limit the surface area so you kinda slip into the water. If you belly flop you probably would be dead from a decent hight
That’s why professional divers usually dive into water with bubbles
@@chinglesscheddar Not really, it doesn't take all that much before hitting water does about the same amount of damage as hitting solid ground. However, it's actually better to hit solid ground, because when your bones inevitably break from this fall, if you were to survive the impact, you would very likely still die if you hit water, because I don't think you'll be doing much swimming after such an ordeal
@@bobthebox2993 lmao i love the vocabulary in this comment.
because it holds its surface tension in the split second that you die
I'd argue that this is actually not a stupid video, but a rather good one considering it kept my attention for the whole time! (this is an impressive feat) I've only recently found your content and its very much enjoyable!
Since when were "stupid" and "good" mutually exclusive?
You forgot that Minecraft people are roughly 10 foot tall. Apparently.
The writing! This was such a well executed narration. References to past seasons, funny bits,a thieving cow, actual research… I enjoyed this immensely!

Also note: Since players fit in a 1x2x1 block area, they are less than 2 cubic meters total, and the head MUST be less than 1x1x1 meter in size, most likely around .8 cubic meters. Another fine side note: 1 block of gold (1 cubic meter) would be 19,282 Kilos of gold. Since Steve (and mumbo) seem able to move these around with ease, obviously those 40 inch+ biceps get put to good use.
I think he said two meters around, so that's a 50cm high and 50cm wide head.
Having to make counter weights for pistons would be interesting, Having to put density mechanics in the game would make it a bit easier than a 12 blocks behind to push 12 blocks forward mechanic.
You'd probably be able to cheese it by putting a single piece of obsidian behind a piston to counterbalance a 12 block push
@@williamdrum9899 If they added a density mechanic into the game different blocks would have different weights, so an obsidian block could still be ultra heavy and counterbalance for multiple of other blocks.
The thing with the golden apple was that it was made with 8 gold blocks, so not only would the apple itself be horrendously expensive, but so would the visit to the dentist
4:38 Interesting fact, there actually were spider-like creatures around this size which existed millions of years ago: eurypterids, an extinct group of aquatic arthropods. Megarachne, a member of this group which resembles spiders pretty closely, could grow to half a meter. Jaekelopterus was one of the largest at 3 meters, but it looked more like an aquatic scorpion on crack.
That said, we also have things like spider crabs which exist today at the bottom of the ocean; including their legs, they can span 4 meters across.
There’s also Australia
Glad I did not exist back then with my buddy size spiders :')
So, because arthopods can grow based on how much oxygen is present, and all of the arthropods that we see are massive compared to real life, we gotta consider just how much oxygen is in the air
There were also centipedes twice as long as alligators
Nopenopenopenopenopenope
I love how strange minecraft really is, you would never even notice these things if you were just playing normally
another funny difference i dont even think the devs intended this but mobs such as cows, sheep, pigs, etc. can climb ladders for some reason
"70 meters is barely even a bump"
I literally have never even SEEN a hill that high 💀
Mumbo’s incredible style and skill beyond is beyond human comprehension and ascends me to another plane of existence.
The relevation of real life Mumbo not being able to grow a mustache was SHOCKING. Where are all the news reporters bringing this LIVE on TV?!
Mumbo: these spiders are too big
Me: ever heard of Australia?
This literally lightened my day - thank you :D
This is great. I’ve often thought how a visitor to the Minecraft universe would describe it to Earthlings. The thing I get hung up on is water. A single one-meter block will flow infinitely. Two blocks can form two more blocks. Water can be consumed infinitely without depleting the source. Etc.
I actually view minecraft items as more like teleportation tokens, which would make a few of these make a bit of sense (since all items act the same, they probably are the same)
They are like banknotes... A tiny amount of notes for a large amount of gold in banks
what do you mean by "teleportation tokens"
@@aart7736 when placing down blocks, you use the token to summon the block (teleport it from somewhere else)
@@aart7736 when you place one down, it's consumed and a block is "teleported" in its place. Saying that an item is the block itself makes no sense, bc then why do anvil items float? The item itself must be different from the block, and since all items act the same way, they probably are in essence the same thing.

7:41 Actually, this is not confirmed, people have tried making a portal but they couldn’t find a flint and steel.
Someone needs to tell Mumbo about the hard stuff inside of the body.
One of the most cursed things in Minecraft is that 1 source of water or lava, can turn into an infinite amount of water or lava. Like if you placed a water bucket off the side of a mountain, the entire mountain range will become covered in water, and the water will flow endlessly.
It's really crazy when you compare the two. I never noticed how many fantasy elements real life has that aren't actually in Minecraft.
