Nice down to earth review, you did make me chuckle at times Floyd I have to say I’ve got a Puma myself in the ST line but I fancy the ST line X so after watching your review you’ve made up my mind 👍
Great and informant review 👍🏼 about the wet belt: timing chain is a metal one, but the oil pump is a wet belt. There seems some problems with that ! maby i'm mistaking. They say, all about to use the Ford specified oil en frequent maintenance. Read plenty reviews about this new model and i loved it. But the wet belt keeps me away from deciding. I wish you a very pleasant time with the car, take care. Greeting Martin from the Netherlands.
Love your honest review. Got my new ST-line X on Monday last week, after returning my pre facelift Puma. I utterly agree with what you say about the drivers assistance. More than a bit too much and big brother‘s watching you constantly. My wife hates the armrest as well as it‘s too high and always hits the elbow. Though when it comes to driving a really nice car. Greetings from Germany.
Very interesting review Thanks for posting. I'm very much looking forward to collecting my new Puma ST X Line on Wednesday and will try and get myself a UA-cam crash course in working that damn computer beforehand ! Moving from a Vauxhall Crossland, the Puma I test drove felt like a much better built and sturdier car than the Vauxhall which was a bit tinny. Can't wait to get my hands on mine.
Thank you for the kind comment. When you collect yours please ask them if it's possible for the aircon to come on as default setting. In my other cars it was on all the time but I can't find out how to do it on this one and the other day I started it remotely through the app but when we got in, the condensation was horrendous and we had to sit there while it cleared. Good luck.
Well we've done over 2k miles in it now and are very pleased with our purchase. Favourite things - boot space, radio, big screen, heated steering wheel, performance and it's very "light on it's feet" handling wise. I don't like mainly black wheels on any car but these are quite flat and therefore easy to clean without using a special brush to get into the nooks and crannies. Don't like - Lane keeping! I would love to know how to switch off permanently.
I got the St line x last year, all those safety features are there because of an EU law, manufacture's must fit them,if you hold the LIM button for a few seconds it takes the speed warning off, that drove me nuts, driver take a break, come s on after 2 miles😅, you can change the color of your screen on the steering wheel, blue, green,or copper,I find the puma cramped inside compared to my previous skoda kamiq, good video,👍
Thanks for the comment. I was watching a review of the Audi A3 yesterday when the reviewer mentioned the alarms and the EU (NCAP) rules. I've decided to keep an eye on new models, newer developments and improvements to plug in hybrids and consider trading it in next year. Unless I can get to love it in the meantime.
At first I thought this was just going to be some boring bloke prattling and droning on about nothing but you made me laugh out loud several times. Well done! Surprisingly entertaining for 37.45 mins. 😂 As for the Puma? Nice car but I’ve had far too many poor experiences with them ( Fords ) to put anymore money their way. Don’t get me started on a Ford S Max X Sport I once had, the most unreliable car I have EVER owned. 🤨
Thank you for the kind comment. It's ok, I like it so far but I'll never love it. I'll probably be looking for an alternative in 12 months as technology progresses.
Hi, I’ve just bought a Puma st line x as well 5months old but I’m getting a smell of petrol when starting from cold it’s been back to the garage but no problem found, it clears very quickly so just wondering if you’ve noticed this with your Puma.
Each to their own I guess but God gave you eyes, a brain and the ability to concentrate, failure to use these God given features tells me you really shouldn’t be driving.
@ People aren’t robots that’s true but people should be expected to be able to make use of the basic abilities they have naturally been given especially when it comes to the skills needed for driving. Technology is all very well and good but I’ve yet to encounter any that’s totally fool proof and the way people inevitably come to rely on it which inevitably leads to the dumbing down of their skulls especially when driving is quite frankly pretty scary.
@@Wishful-Thinking safety features in Puma works really well. They don’t do things instead of the driver. They are starting to work when the driver makes mistake.
Available Car at Cannock don't work in the way you mentioned, letting you browse at leisure. Instead you tell them what you like after selecting on in-store computer and they drive it to the viewing area. Didn't like it at all. They did work in the other way many years ago.
I've just driven 140 miles (Jan 12 2025) in freezing conditions and the car was plastered in salt when I got there. Fine. But as soon as I started back after a 4 hour stop, I started to get warnings: Front camera obscured, please clean - Colision assist cancelled (due to front camera), then variations of the two messages all the way home. Now I have to find where the sodding front camera is to clean it! So just when it's cold and you just want the car to get you home, it starts bleating at you that it wants attention. Not impressed.

I have a Puma ST Line X Vignale which they know longer do. Absolutely love it and you can turn lane departure off permanently 😅 result. Excellent SUV.

Hi Alex, No, I have to say I have no such problem. Hope you find it soon.

Lane keeping is actually really great.
I agree.

Middle of the windscreen at the top, where the wipers never go!
Yes you have to keep the glass clean as the sensor is behind the windscreen mirror
