Denham Owl Sale 2
This should give you enough info to whet your appetite or not.

You may notice I take steps to avoid marketing as well as timewasters.
Thanks for taking the time to watch.
Last time I did this I had a nasty comment which upset me to the point I wiped off 25 or so videos of the restoration so far. So this time comments are off.

We thought we would try one of these as there's just the two of us. I was very positive when I got the delivery but you'll see I was soon as disappointed as a lot of other people who try them. A lot of reviews of these cheap, blower barbeques mention what seems to be a common problem - the blower fan actually failing to blow.

    Excellent video, you've certainly put it to good use! Bought one in 2019 "used" from Ebay for £200 box had been opened and it was all there but had never been used, got signed up for a large cylinder, full size regulator and a rotameter (ball in a glass tube) flow meter to accurately set flow. It’s certainly paid for itself! Only issue is I mostly weld outside (garage full of motorbikes and kitcar) and gass blows away and get crappy welds if thre is anything more than a light breeze- might have a try with flux cored wire if it'll take it , Daves garage Mk 1 Escort swears by it. Take care!

Quite an experience and maybe the subject of another video as I recently found the videos I shot at the time. We have a 2007 Coachman which we have toured for twelve years now. In that time the rear lights have done exactly as yours have. The main issue has been the two large cracks at the front above the centre window that are now 2mm wide and run from the window seal up to the gutter. In addition to these severe cracks there are around ten to fifteen hairline cracks around various exterior joints, mostly where the rear panel joins the roof. Other than these (that I'm now dealing with) the caravan has been great. I don't think the quality issue is unique to Coachman, I've seen three year old Buccaneer caravans with cracks and issues.

    • @floydraser4603
      @floydraser4603 13 днів тому

      Those lights are a very poor product. I don't really want to write this down but: I haven't had a problem with my lights since I did the last modification. There, that's invited disaster! 🥴 We now have cracks in the kitchen window which I have repaired with glue. It doesn't look good but then normally people don't get close enough to notice and even if they did it wouldn't bother me. I priced up a replacement and without going through it all again to check: the replacement "glass" was ridiculously expensive and a complete replacement unit was only around £25 more! We have refitted one of the front side windows and it wasn't as bad a task as we thought it would be. We used clear Sikaflex EBT to seal it - available from Screwfix - and this season I have used the same stuff to go round all the other windows, having first removed the excess of the original stuff which started as white, but was by now very mucky!

    Спасибо за видео! Но добавлю от себя! Если у вас перестал вращаться выходной вал, но мотор работает, то это срезало шплинт на паре шестерня-червяк. В принципе, можно даже без разборки корпуса вставить новый 3мм шплинт. Главное - найти то место, где он вставляется. А доступ к месту, появляется, если снять большой мотор. Мотор снимается очень легко - надо открутить лишь две гаечки на торце, где крыльчатка. Кстати, можно и не снимать крыльчатку, а демонтировать весь мотор и после всех манипуляций, опять его поставить.

    Floyd, I used an (IRWIN 1602L3 Visegrip 4in Long Nose Plier £15 @ Amazon) to grip the shaft near the barrel and then a large flat head screwdriver in the gap to extend the shaft. I then released the plier and clamped it closer to the barrel again and repeated this process 3 times till the shaft extended to final tightness. This saved using an assortment of spanners.

    Hi Floyd The reason this Delphi Technologies document is so confusing is because it has an error in the text. The text should read "Screw the socket ANTI-CLOCKWISE so that the groove for the clip emerges - Install Clip. The image the text refers to shows anti-clockwise rotation of the barrel. Using (right hand rule of thumb) clockwise rotation is indicated by your fingers when your right hand thumb points at the clock face. I used a mole grips to hold the barrel whilst using a13mm spanner to rotate the shaft to losen it. Later I used the 13mm spanner to hold the shaft still whilst I rotated the barrel anti clockwise.

    The conveyed button is the note of c. Below it is f, and above it g then d. The chords are the same but major chords. The missing bits of the straps connect to the top of the accordion and then you put the 2 straps over your shoulders. 🪗the flaps are valves that allow air to pass through the reeds on each reed plate in one direction at a time. When you pull the bellows air will flowmtheoufh the top reeds, and when you push the bellows it will flow through the bottom reeds on the reed plates. I would have used rubber solution and not superglue to srick the valve on in case you ever need to do any more repairs.

    a lot of companies dont hold stock anymore, they rely on their supplier having stock, when the 1 supplier runs out of stock- nobody has stock. same with boating, we were after a fuel injector for a nanni engine- everyone showed it in stock, when contacted they then phoned the suppliers, who didnt have any in stock, thus all the companies in the country were out of stock because the one supplier was out- turned out that the engine is a common kubota block and if you want kubota part, it was a fraction of the price- and dozens available.

    • @floydraser4603
      @floydraser4603 6 місяців тому

      The most annoying part about it is that with time on your hands you can go hunting for a supplier but when you think you've found one, you discover it's only another link a chain. If only businesses were more open about their lead times.

    @iareid8255 3 months ago Floyd, have you thought about turning the compound slide by 90 degrees. As it is, the parting off action causes the compound to move on the slide, i.e. the side nearest you will want to lift and the toll dip, the amount being how tight the slide is. By rotating 90 degrees, the length of the slide (probably twice that of the width?) will be in the direction of parting and I believe will be more rigid? That said on my old Student lathe, parting off was difficult and nerve racking until I fitted a rear tool post onto the cross slide, parting off is now easy and can be done quickly. I also use a carbide insert parting off tool. @floydraser4603 3 months ago Actually no, I hadn't thought about that at all but now you mention it, it looks fairly obvious! I will certainly give it try next time. That's also another vote for a rear tool post. Not sure I do enough to make it worthwhile but I'll see how it goes. I'm awaiting delivery of a carbide tip parting tool too, a bit more substantial than the one in the video. Thanks for the comment. @floydraser4603 3 months ago I've now given this idea a try, in principle anyway, not actually partied anything off yet. Yes it works in that it more of the cross slide is used to make it more rigid. I still have to wind the cross slide back as far as possible otherwise the tool is moving away from the round post underneath. @iareid8255 3 months ago (edited) Floyd, the mounting of the tool post is rather weak on your lathe. This is presumably due to the design for the clamping of the compound to the saddle? I suspect there is not sufficient depth of material to set those two nuts in a counter bore such that the nuts are below the compound's top face? In comparison, the Student has the tool post bolted directly to the compound slide so is more rigid. Even so using the main toolpost was not great, but my lathe is fairly worn, hence the rear tool post modification. @floydraser4603 3 months ago @iareid8255 Yes it is a bit weak. I'm going to persevere with it as it is and if I'm not happy I'll probably go for the rear post and mounting plate for my lathe, currently about £70 from Warco.

    @thosoz3431 3 months ago Winky's flexing parting tool holder is a great success. His plans are free and easy to follow. @floydraser4603 3 months ago Just had a look at his video. That's a bit of a project which is fine if you need something to do and have the materials. However, it doesn't eliminate the overhang.

    in general i think the only difference is the quality control applied, but even then, not every machine will be tested, the more expensive machines may well have passed a higher standard of quality control, but that doesnt mean the cheap one is any worse than a bad one that has passed QC.

    Comments transferred from the first version: @steamsearcher 3 months ago OUR EMCO came with loads of problems a Compact 8 E which is the variable speed version. The first thing I looked at was the parts which were the most popular to replace. Leadscrew half nuts? Upon a good look the leadscrew was very rough. I then took the whole lathe apart. I polished the leadscrew and all was fine. Although old it had probably been used just once. Everywhere was covered in protective grease, including the spindle and bearings. These were flushed out. The cross slide screw was bent straight and all the ways polished. I then made up a new spindle nose to fit Warco backplates and move it out to give me a chance to get my GRUBBYS behind and do the M 8 ts. Heated up and banged on to a frozen spindle. Then machined in place and removed so several chucks and faceplates could be machined. Having other lathes comes in handy. 9 in total but some came free but in a bad way. Now it is a superb machine but underpowered for big cuts. the Raglan 5 is for this or the Super 7 from Myford. David and Lily. @grendel1960a 3 months ago i think the difference between machines is the quality control at the factory, dictated by the customer, so the more expensive brands will have rejected the worst of the dogs that were made, which will then be sold by the inferior brands @Marcus1954s 2 months ago Axminster have Sieg lathes. Amadeal, Chester and Warco have the Weiss lathes. Reply @floydraser4603 2 months ago That's interesting, thank you for sharing. I guess each of them have a given level of quality control on import. Reply @Marcus1954s 2 months ago @floydraser4603 Axminster informed me that they did not do anything to the Sieg lathes they import, just sell them. The Weiss lathes I've seen from Chester, Amadeal and Warco are technically so close that the parts for each particular Weiss model are interchangeable. Considering how they are crated/packaged and shipped I doubt they perform anything more than a superficial check that all listed parts are enclosed. Never seen a major issue with the Weiss lathes.

    Thanks for the video. I paid 15 quid for a nearly-new mower of the same design and it's heavier and harder work than I expected (have a big garden) and the grass collection box is near useless. I would just leave the cuttings on the grass but it doesn't trim them small enough to avoid thatch buildup. It will be getting resold. Still it was fun to play with and I have crossed it off my bucket list which has some value I suppose.

    I was hoping for a review of these binoculars as to how they actually worked out in the field as far as brightness and clarity of the optics. All this review did was give how much they weighed.

    Can you use this welder without gas?

      I would think so but I don't know for sure. I'm guessing you would have to use wire for gasless welding but best to ask Machine Mart.

    Update 20th March 2024: No further news on the problem but I have now managed to sell the cooker and covered my losses. Note that selling a cooker on Facebook Marketplace seems to attract the World Champions of timewasters!

    I like the repurposed coffee maker. Perhaps my disused old thing won’t get thrown out after all✔️ Perhaps a regulator handle that’s not so heat conductive. Maybe simply a plastic sleeve round the end ?Playing with steam engines and wheels wizzing round ♥️♥️

      Hi Carol, thanks for reminding me of this old video, 2018, seems like an age ago! Terrible quality too! I gave up using the shaving mug and use a small measuring jug, a throw out from the kitchen. The regulator wire doesn't actually get hot at all and my Granddaughter has happily used it a few times.

    I have an old jump pack. Love it cause it has a 12 volt cig port. I never bothered to open it to see about a battery replacement. Though im considering doing that.

      I'm not sure what you mean? The idea goes on and people still seem to be making positive comments about it. As for me, I've given up cycling altogether now as I believe it's far too dangerous on normal main roads. I now have a bus pass and can therefore enjoy a greater variety of long walks around my local area.
