    Here's what we cover in this golf video.
    1 - First thing -
    Grip in palm. An old golf coach told me this many moons ago and although I don’t always use it, I love it… It allows more passive.. stops the flipping
    2 - open stance - with foot only and flare toes out.
    3- To avoid fat shots and steeper angle of attack with a more rounded pitching technique to take a shallow angle of attack
    3 - Ball position not too far back - avoid divots. Why because the best strikes come from lower on the face. If top of club it will roll out.
    4 - resist lower body on the way back
    5 - lead side or trail hand you choose though feel
    BONUS TIP TO ADJUST DISTANCE -
    I LOVE THE SHORT SWING METHOD WHIch I will talk about in the next pitching video that will be more suitable for most golfers to get brilliant and wedge play.
    Look out for the next pitching lesson to become great, get spin and control Until then, check out this lesson here

    Once in a while you watch a coach that makes the game of golf a pleasure to play. I love the simplicity of your techniques, something I’ve thought about on a regular basis and for me in my 50’s I’m still hitting my iron shots further than guys in their 30’s and 40’s ! Can’t explain exactly what the changes are , but the belief implementing techniques and strategies into my game just works. Wonderful coach , would love to play a round with you sir ………… thanks a million 👏🏽

    Great video Sir.
    Thanks for sharing, I saved this to my "Golf" list for future reference.
    Do you have any tips with this technique for dialing in a specific yardage?
    Say in 5 yard increments or less?

    Great tip Alex I,m a leftie and been pulling my pitches and longer chips across my chest to the right. Whatever I do shallow/come from the inside always much the same. Now I’m the prat cos all I need to do is drop my foot back like makes a lot of sense. You’d think I should have worked that one out for myself!
    Got an idea for a new channel. How about the Art of Simple Fitness because you do look in shape!

    These tips are working very well for me on the driving Range. I also picked up distance and better accuracy with the more consistent ball striking. I am over 50 yrs old. I will let you know how it works on the golf course.

    Hi 73 yr old Jack again. I am following you and enjoy your tips. Now I just have something to share and maybe you can comment on it. Been pulling a lot of shots left and discovered I wasn’t turning my upper body fast enough causing my club head to get ahead of my hands. Started turning much quicker with great results! Actually increased lag and squared club face. What do you think?

    • @TheArtofSimpleGolf
      @TheArtofSimpleGolf  Рік тому +3

      Hi Jack! It certainly can help to get the core through. Just look out for club getting over the top and shoulder pushing it out. Getting the core through is key and several lesson here and in our online Club cover that too.

    Hi, would you say the pitching technique is entirely different from the chipping technique? So really, we have 4 techniques; normal shots (driving, irons etc) then pitching, chipping and putting?

    • @TheArtofSimpleGolf
      @TheArtofSimpleGolf  Рік тому

      Well yes and no. There are many more similarities than differences in chipping vs pitching.
      It’s more or less just a longer chip.
      There are little tweaks to ensure no stalling and using the bounce etc in chipping because of the shorter and slower pace. We have lessons on it.

    • @TheArtofSimpleGolf
      @TheArtofSimpleGolf  Рік тому +1

      A little yes. I’m this example it’s more different than what I’d use. But not miles away

    Mo Norman swore by this grip, I tried it for a while, but never got the hang of it! But as you showed us- it is a great grip when near the green, Garry Player uses a 6 iron, he's the best chipper I have seen! So as long as I do not have to fly me ball over a bunker, then I know I will get my ball on the green which is not approved with the punters! - load of auld grumpier/s!

    Pitching is the most "inconsistent" part of this game. Each coach says different things. Take Pete Cowen - undoubtedly someone who knows "a bit" about golf. He says - keep the ball BACK, closer to the trail foot, use the bounce, without a bounce it is not a pitch shot, wind the club vertically, up in the backswing.
    Completely opposite to this...

    • @TheArtofSimpleGolf
      @TheArtofSimpleGolf  Рік тому

      We are using the bounce here too! And this method I have found is easier for many folks. Not saying the other way is wrong.
