Literally choked on my coffee when you said power tools allow you to screw up much quicker 🤣🤣🤣

Hey, Uncle Knackers! Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪
As a professional patternmaker, I can tell you, these tips are good as gold 👌
My favourite is the last one. Be proud of your work, hobbyists! Every time you tackle a project, you achieve so much more than all the others who have no idea how to get things done.
A pro tip for the circular saw: If you have very delicate surfaces that tend to tear out, clamp a fence to guide your machine. Then make a double cut. First one is very shallow, just cutting 1mm into your surface without tearing. Then you can cut all the way through. You should be fine 🙂
G'day Andre! Very true regarding the last tip mate....couldn't have said it better myself 👍😁 Great tip also regarding the saw 👍 Thanks for watching mate 👍😁🇦🇺
@André Bartels I can't agree more. I'm also in the trade here in the UK and have not yet seen a tip that is bad or promotes unsafe working on any of the videos I have watched.. Follow the advise here and you won't go far wrong.
It's an old video but as an amater starting in woodworking it's pure gold, thank you so much 🙏
For the last year, I've watched a lot of different videos on tips for woodworking, and not once can I remember anyone mentioning cleaning router bits or proper way to use an orbital sander. Thanks!
No worries at all Dave 👍 Glad you found something useful in the video mate 👍😁🇦🇺

This video just confirmed I'm a beginner woodworker, thank you very much 😱😱😍😍😆😆
Hahahahhaha....join the club Jesper 😂
Router burn cleaning tip was brilliant - hands on and practical
👍😁....Thanks David 👍👍
We've missed you, Uncle Knackers, it's been 4 weeks since your last video. I always enjoy your videos. The entertainment value alone makes them worth watching, but they are also very useful and helpful. I'm glad I found your channel. Thanks for all the great videos.
👍😁....No worries at all Jim! I just took a little break mate. Thanks for watching 👍😁🇦🇺
I haven't watched this yet, just about to do so, but I was just thinking yesterday "I miss Uncle Knackers". Welcome back!
Cheers Barry.....just had a couple of weeks off mate. Thanks for watching 👍😁🇦🇺
@@diyforknuckleheadsJust finished watching it, you did not disappoint me. Many useful tips. Good Dad joke! There are some woodworkers who say power tools take all the skill out of woodworking. That is just so wrong! As you said (paraphrased), power tools allow things to go wrong much faster. Every time we get a new tool we have to learn new skills to use that tool. Such is the joy (and frustration) of the wonderful journey of making things out of wood. And maybe a bit of metal here and there. Or maybe we need to add some resin. And maybe the best solution for a particular problem is to 3D print it. Or maybe ..... endless possibilities. Let's all go out and make stuff and resist the urge to point out the imperfections that no-one else would have noticed. Above all, let's just enjoy the process (journey) of trying to make stuff. (And share what we learn along the way, especially the bespoke features).
@@wiseoldfool Hahahahah....very well said Barry! 👍👍👍👍👍
Miss you Uncle Knackers!
👍😁....Stick around Erin, l have another one popping up this weekend.....fingers crossed 🤞 👍😁🇦🇺

Hello my friend,
New great content. Yes, I made similar mistakes when I started. It's very helpful to show them. thank you for sharing. stay healthy and happy. See you. big greetings.
Cheers mate 👍 Thanks for watching 👍😁🇦🇺
Great tips. You have become one of a small handful of woodworking channels that I watch as soon as I see it pop up in my feed. I thoroughly enjoy your videos and I always get something out of them. Thanks for all you do.
Cheers mate!....Really appreciate the feedback 👍😁🇦🇺
What other channels do you watch?
@@rodoherty1 Mate, my watching habits are very Australian centric. Fixit Fingers, Sumos Projects, Dainer Made, Small Fry Creations, Down Under Woodworks, The Woodfather and a handful of others 👍👍
@@rodoherty1 one other channel that I watch without fail is Stumpy Nubs. As for others, I tend to watch channels from people I can relate to. Some people have gotten too big and their videos are commercials disguised as woodworking videos. I understand why and I respect that but I find myself, more and more, watching channels with just a few hundred subscribers, with the exception of Uncle Knackers and Stumpy Nubs. I find them very informative and entertaining at the same time. Never a waste of my time.
Great video Knackers….all my mistakes were listed 😳 😂
Thanks Rob! I think we can all relate to them mate 😂 Have a good weekend 👍😁🇦🇺
Yay, I'm clever, I figured out the jig guide by myself. I should be proud now. :D

I came about your channel about two weeks ago and got hooked after first minute, tips and tricks are priceless, dad jokes hilarious, humor here and there all the time, but best of all is the experience you share with us all. Have see some of your previous projects, the lego display thingy with the bike tire, the pool table, the phone wireless charger shelf thingy, and others, even went back to the unclog the toilet episode, good stuff!!!, I mean the videos, not the toilet situation, mmh, I mean the contents, not of the toilet, Ok you know what I mean, or not? any way, Thank You.
Hahahhahaha....thanks mate 😁 Welcome aboard ....hope you can stick around for many more vids to come 👍😁🇦🇺
Nailed it Uncle Knackers! Your last tip is so true, many years ago one much wiser than me told me don't spoil the joy of the moment for the owner....

Definitely wasn't a mistake to watch this video!
Great tips for young & old, beginner & pro. Cheers.
Thanks Jamie! Appreciate the comment mate and l hope you're having a great weekend 👍😁🇦🇺
Since finding your channel, I have made:
A sturdy workbench.
A sturdy bed.
Bedside tables.
Wooden boxes.
Shoe rack.
Hoisted clothes airer and few other small projects.
All made with pallet wood/ scrap.
I also just finished fitting out both bedroom wardrobes (not using scrap).
All this in under two years while working full time.
It’s a real sense of achievement when you use something you made with your own two hands.
Your channel has been the main inspiration for all my projects.
I’m thankful to you for the helpful tips and the dad jokes.
Much appreciation.
That is fantastic Kafen! Well done on getting all those projects done...really good effort mate and thanks for the feedback! Glad you're liking the videos 👍😁🇦🇺

I clicked on this when I saw the photo of the nail through your "bandaged finger" cringing, because admittedly, I put a brad nail 1/4th of an inch into my finger just ahead of the knuckle at the tip of my index finger almost a month ago now.
It was a stark reminder to watch what I was doing if I didn't like getting bit like that.
😬....I've done the same thing myself Perry....doesn't tickle 😬 Thanks for watching mate 👍😁🇦🇺
It's good to know that I am not the only one who loves your videos. This one was only posted today, and already over 7,000 views! Congratulation on having your opinions and tips respected. Your tips are great for beginners and pros alike. One common mistake I found myself making when I started woodworking was buying things that I thought I just had to have. Some of those tools and accessories never got used, and are just collecting dust. There are even some great You Tube videos regarding this subject. Cheers!

@@diyforknuckleheads Hey, had a brief look through and got an idea for another video that would help me greatly, it probably sounds silly to others but... screws, nails, countersinking, self tapping etc. Basically when would you use screws instead of nails or bolts, what do the terms mean and rough rules of thumb on when/why use each. It just occurred to me watching your outdoor sofa video that I didnt understand why use the nail gun instead of screws or why use a bolt when you did.
So MANY ! WORKBENCH ! VIDEOS ! ON HERE !!
