Uncle Knackers always comes through with knowledge
Cheers mate! Glad you found the tips useful 👍😁🇦🇺
I like this funny smart Merlin!👍
👍😁
You are simply fantastic, more value than all the media in the world
Hahahhahaha.....cheers David! Really appreciate the feedback mate and thanks for watching 👍😁🇦🇺
Your "Measure twice, cut once" picture frame got a real good LOL out of me. That would be fun to make as a reminder in my little 'apartment kitchen shop'.
Mike in Oregon
Hahaha...yeah it's a nice little reminder Mike 😂 There is a build video for that project if you want to check it out 🇦🇺😁👍
Those combination square tricks are 100 level!!
😂.....Touche Grant 👍 Thanks for watching mate 👍😁🇦🇺
Love the circle & the magnet tip. 👍👍
Yeah they both work really well mate 👍😁🇦🇺
My favorite diy UA-camr, truly thankful for u, u really make it easy, not like other channels that use the most expensive tools and machinery
Cheers mate! Appreciate the feedback and thanks for watching 👍 Hope you're having a great weekend 👍🇦🇺😁
Magnet on the end of the tape measure - pissed myself laughing - Gold !
😂....Thanks mate 👍😁🇦🇺
You were all over this one, Knackers!
A joy to watch.
👍😁..Cheers mate! Thanks for watching 👍😁🇦🇺
Hello my friend,
These are great information. nice tips. Unless you try innovations, you cannot learn anything new. And you are always trying to teach innovations. And you always produce innovative works and ideas. Thank you for sharing. See you. Big greetings.
Thank you very much Sahane 👍👍 Appreciate the comment mate and thanks for watching 👍😁🇦🇺
@@diyforknuckleheads you're welcome mate. see you anytime. take care my friend.
How come I did not know any of these....😱😱 Great tips knackers!
👍😁...Cheers mate....thanks for watching 😁🇦🇺👍
Yess, uncle knackers is back :)
😁👍...Thanks for watching Sal 👍👍
I have remodeled houses that had the studs laid out on the diamonds. Today's youth don't realize how lucky they are. Thanks
So very true 👍
Omg, that first tip blew my mind - so simple!! Damnit, I’ve wasted hours of my life! 😂
😂....Thanks Laura 👍🇦🇺
Hey Shane, u do the best tips and project allso dad jokes is the best. 👍👍☕🍪🍩😃🇨🇦
👍😁...Thanks Dan 👍👍
Once again.... Cool beans Unk!!!! Keep em comin'
No worries at all Mark 👍😁 Thanks for taking the time to watch mate 👍😁🇦🇺
Like the magnet on the tape idea, also good for picking up a drop wire in a wall cavity👍
Yep .....sure is Steve. I've used it on many an occasion 👍 Thanks for watching mate 👍😁🇦🇺
Great tips Shane! Keep it up! One more little tip for Measuring. Always use the same tape measure for the same project! Even though tape measures are supposed to be the same, they can be off a mm or so. So if you do all of the measurements with the same tape measure, you will always know that they will be consistent.
Very true Peter...good tip 👍👍 Thanks for watching mate 👍😁🇦🇺
Great tip knackeres in his Borat voice
Hahahahhaha....thanks K.O 👍😁🇦🇺
@ 0:17 I like the auto mechanic way of saying that "sometimes the problem is the nut behind the wheel". Nice video! I checked my combination square and I found the little pointy scribe thing!
Good stuff Eric 👍 I reckon all trades would have the same type of saying 😂 Thanks for watching mate and good to see you found the pointy thingy 👍😁🇦🇺
I love the magnet on the end of the tape measure trick. I’ll use that instead of my current technique which is jumping in the car and going to bunnings and buying a new one. And also buying a ten pack of micro fibre towels, an extension lead and a lint roller. Or whatever else is on special near the checkout counter.
Hahahahhahahha....love it! 😂 Sounds like me all over Billy 👍😁🇦🇺
now why does that sound familiar to me? oh yeah..thats right..I need a light globe..and come with a new router...a set of drill bits...plants for the garden plus a pack of those microfibre towels near the counter...damn you Bunnings...lol
Another winner Uncle K. I'll be sharing this with my son who works with some VCAL students. This could save them years of frustration. Keep up the good work.
Thanks Rev 👍👍 Hope the kids get something out of it! Thanks for watching mate 👍😁🇦🇺
@@diyforknuckleheads My son was particularly impressed with the first trick. For those who don't do well with weird numbers, that is a huge headache saver.
@@revbharvey5046 Sure is mate 👍
Like the combination square trick
👍👍
For today I'll call you uncle hackers! 5 of the best there, and so you know I've just been to check my square and find the scriber I never knew was there! Cheers 🇳🇿🇳🇿🇳🇿
Cheers Sam! Mate all of us at some stage have said "what the hell is that brass knob" 😂 Thanks for watching mate 👍😁🇦🇺
Great stuff, Uncle Knackers. Thanks for the tips.

My pleasure Tahir 👍👍 Thanks as always for watching mate 👍😁🇦🇺
Once again, another awesome video. Cheers mate. 🤙🇦🇺
No worries at all Mark! Thanks for taking the time to watch mate 👍😁🇦🇺
Ever wonder if these tips are useful? Imagine my surprise learning about the marking pin above the level on the combination square. Then recalling an item I found on my garage floor just last weekend while vacuuming some dust from working on my work bench. Looked to me like one of those nails that go to a picture hanging hook. Dropped it onto my tool box shelf to worry about another day. Watched Uncle Knacker's (SP) new video this morning and low and behold, that nail I found a week earlier after checking my combination square, actually goes to it and not a picture hook. Just went into the garage and returned it to its rightful place on my combination square. WOW Thanks Uncle Knacker's (SP).
What an absolute classic! Well done H.T 👍👍 Mystery solved mate...thanks for watching 👍😁🇦🇺
As a new woodworker, these great tips & tricks will not save me from doing stupid things in the workshop or more failed projects, but for sure reduce the number, which is life changing in itself, and that's all I'm asking for, and I appricate all of them so much! 👍
And those "dad jokes" remind me of my father who died 16 years ago;
please, Uncle Knucklehead, also keep them coming! 😊
Greetings from Denmark ❤
Thanks Pia! Glad you liked the tips and the joke 😂 Thanks for watching all the way from Denmark.....very much appreciated 👍😁🇦🇺
Great tips and entertainment as well - thank you Shane! Best wishes from Penny in Liverpool 🇬🇧😊💕
G'day Penny....Glad you liked it 😁 Hope all's well all the way over there in Liverpool 👍😁🇦🇺
"My old mate Pythagoras" cracked me up!
Hahahahaha...Cheers Felipe 👍😁🇦🇺
You tell us to buy you a cup of coffee and then go drink tea. What an insult!
you showed me a new hack today to a routine done by different methods. The 3,4, 5 triangle.
I'm building a sled soon, and I have been wondering if there were an easier way to get the fence square. One mark where you want the face of the fence to be, and then another mark, either 3 or 4 units up, depending on the length of your fence, and then make the two marks where the other end of the fence belongs. The perfect right angle for the fence. :)
I've tried to figure this out before, but your using the arcs makes the difference to find the exact point.
Thank you, again! You are the greatest! coffee or tea not withstanding.
Hahahhahaha....I'm across all hot beverages Buck 😂.....no favourtism here mate 😂 The 3 4 5 method is one of the best hacks ever for getting things square...it is fool proof......which is lucky for me 😂 Good luck with the sled and thanks for watching 👍😁🇦🇺
Great tips. Glad to see a mention for Colin Knecht there, I've been following him for a long time. Apparently there are four P's of woodworking: Practice, Precision, Patience and Practice. Make sawdust while the sun shines. Also make sawdust when it doesn't shine!
Yeah Barry.....Colin is a bit of a legend 👍 The 4 P's couldn't be any more correct. 👍 Thanks for watching mate 👍😁🇦🇺
Two of my favorits sharing his hacks! Uncle Knack and Colin are awesome!!! Greatings from Brazil!!
@@manobap Thanks M.B. 👍😁
Drilling the square at 10mm - genius tip!
I'm off to get my drill while you get your cup of tea.
Hahahahaha...Thanks Jamie 👍🇦🇺😁
Also off to drill my squares as well - seriously simple but positively brilliant
Drilling through the combination square - fantastic idea, thank you.
No worries at all Jerry! Glad you liked it mate 👍🇦🇺😁
Great tips.... A^2 + B^2 = C^2
Spot on my learned friend 👍😁
thank you for your sharing
No worries at all 👍😁 Thanks for watching 👍🇦🇺😁
Great tips. Checked my square and there the secret pin was!
Sneaky little thing isn't it 😂 Glad you discovered it and thanks for watching 👍😁🇦🇺
Nice thumbnail pic. A bit of skill and imagination on that one. Good job.
Hahahahaha...Thanks F.M 👍 😁

Hahahaha...touche Ronald 😂 Glad you liked the vid mate 👍😁🇦🇺
I own a combination square. So that's what it's called.... and that's how to use it? All this time I just thought it was one of those tools to keep in the tool drawer to make me look like I know what I'm doing!! Thanks Shane! The more information you put in your videos, the more I'm starting to measure up!! Finally!
Hahahhaha....thanks Sandi 👍
I have LOTS of those tools I'm my toolbox!
God I love these video's 🤣 well done sir👍
No worries at all mate! Thanks for the feedback and for watching....much appreciated 👍😁🇦🇺

I love how my combination square already has a hole on it and my measuring tape has a magnet on the tip as well :D
Couple of wins there Jensen! Thanks for watching mate 👍😁🇦🇺
Jensen watch out with the magnet mine was from Wurth the tape was correct.... without the magnet. They stuck it on the outside face so it measures short
@@tomgardner8452 Oh. Good call, I'll have to check mine. Thanks! 🙂
Great tips UK!
👍😁 Cheers Michael 😁🇦🇺👍

@@diyforknuckleheads Cheers for the reply.
I made your work bench a few years ago, turned out fantastic. First thing I ever built. Looking to to try my hand at some woodwork now thanks to videos from you, @dainermade and @jespermakes. Keep up the good work, it is inspiring to so many beginners like myself.
I'm only up to #2 and my mind is blown...
Cheers mate 👍 Pretty easy hey 👍🇦🇺
i love that trick and how your way to convet it.. just love that dad jokes.. cause you now i think everyone will end in that point
👍😁...Thanks Chrisna 👍
Howdy mate. The old 3, 4, 5 is worth its weight in gold. While I'm here I may as well say, putting the hole in the square.....genius. I'd never have thought of it, shame my scribe went for a wander on the jungle on my shed floor years back 🤣🤣
Can't comment on your dad joke. I'm still waiting for the ambulance to remove the stitches it put me in....😜😜
Take it easy pal, looking forward to the next video.
Hahahhaha.....well done on the gag Dobbsy 😁 Glad you liked the tips mate and maybe you'd better spend an hour or two on that shed floor 😂

Fantastic! Great to have you on board Dan 👍😁
Excellent!!!!
Cheers mate! 👍🇦🇺😁
Thank you fabulous tips
No worries at all Richard👍😁 Thanks for watching mate 👍😁🇦🇺
Your tips are good as gold, Uncle Knackers! 👍
Pro tip from a woodworking professional: Sometimes it's convenient to have two measuring tools. One at the saw, one at the assembly site, or something like that. Make sure these two are exactly the same, or you'll cut too long or too short every time. And please don't ask me how I know...
Aahhh.....nothing like a bit of experience Andre....good tip 😁 Thanks for watching mate 👍😁🇦🇺
I'm not at all pro, but I've heard and then experienced the same:
That if you use different brands of measuring tools (on the same project) you will get in trouble if you need the work to be very precise, as they aren't all "aligned" (sorry, I don't know the correct word for it in English).
It's only a 7 minutes long video, and after the video, I went to my workshop and measured out 50 cm (about 20 inches) with 3 different measuring tools, and I got 3 different marks; up to 6 mm (1/4 inch) apart!
( ua-cam.com/video/uSYEN6HtdJ4/v-deo.html)
Those are great hacks to know, thanks Uncle Knackers.
Cheers Steve! Thanks for watching mate 👍😁🇦🇺
Весело и доступно! Хорошее видео,спасибо.

Thanks Nathan! Glad you found it useful mate 👍😁🇦🇺
enjoied all the great new tips especialy 3, 4, 5
Yeah Donato...l couldn't tell you how many times I've used it 👍👍 Thanks for watching mate 👍😁🇦🇺
Always use this on the building site. Or the 1414mm method which is the square root of 1m. Instead of 3, 4, 5 which sometimes we don't have the room for, we can go 3m & 3m & the long measurement will be 3m x 1414mm
@@andrewhundal2666 Very clever young man....you are a lot smarter than you look mate 😂
Wow, perfect for a Saturday morning. Since I’m a math genius NOT. Genius Uncle Knackers for this knucklehead. Gday Mate
Thanks mate 👍👍 Glad you liked it! Hope you're having a top weekend 👍😁🇦🇺
Good tips, fella. I've just invested in two wolfcraft universal angle and try squares (30cm and a larger one). Loads of prefilled holes for running a line and many more features. Worth a Google.
Thanks Andy! I'll have to check them out mate....appreciate the recommendation 👍🇦🇺😁
Hahahahahaha indeed we have all measured once and cut, or either have not used the correct glasses when measuring lololol well done mate

I live by the scribe, my favourite back up tool.
Yeah it's a very handy little gadget Craig 👍 Thanks for watching mate 👍😁🇦🇺
Great tips, never realised that there was a scriber in my square, had to dig it out of my toolbox to check it was there as soon as I finished watching 😀👍
Yeah it's a sneaky little bugger Mark....not many people realise that it's there 😂 Thanks for watching mate 😁🇦🇺👍
3,4,5 also good for finding a square wall
Sure is Fred.....whenever we start a new house frame we use the technique to mark out the frame 👍
