“They aren’t old enough to make the decision to have their faces out for the world to see”
This resonates with me so much. I can’t believe people smear FB and IG with their kids faces. It’s a gross invasion of privacy
Yeah, I’m hoping they’ll thank me one day. Ha
@@3x3CustomTamar they probably won't, everything that's wrong in their life will be you or your husband's fault. Maybe when they have their own children they may understand.
Agree. In an ever-increasing digital world, and once they are old enough, kids should be in charge of developing their online identity......not their parents. Kids are not here to bring attention to their parents.
@@SSRT_JubyDuby8742 So you have a teenager?
@@bradquinn2859 20 and 22 now, but we definitely 'lived' the teen years 😂🤣
You're such a personable, down to earth person. I appreciate you taking the time to answer some questions. I love the origin of the company name and have enjoyed watching you grow in your skills. Keep up the good work and I hope the joy and accomplishment that is visibly present when you achieve the end goal continues for you.
D Day: I was going to comment, but after reading yours…nuff said!!!
☺️☺️☺️
Great management policy, stick with the no family shown, its just entirely you, and its great !
Glad you agree ☺️ this channel is about my woodworking. Not my life. Ha
Kudos to you for woodworking, making videos, and being a mom at the same time. You deserve so much respect for that
I wouldn’t have it any other way ☺️🤘
The man who never made a mistake never made anything.
Keep up the good work, Your videos are a joy to behold partly due to their sheer professionalism
Truth…. Thanks so much!!
Well, sure… the MAN that never made a mistake never made anything. ;) Sorry, my wife made me post that. :-)
Fwiw, I started watching your channel because you were using a more affordable saw. It's impressive to see what you can do with it, and how you work around it.
I know this video is 2 years olds but, its my first time seeing it. I am brand new to woodworking, I am not great at it right now lol. But I love your content and how you explain things. I love how down to earth and honest you are with your viewers. All the best to you and your family. Thanks for sharing your creativity and spirit with us.
After watching this episode, I have deeper respect to your hard work with being multi tasking with keeping private as private and being wonderful mom of three children. Life is short and you found what you like. It inspires other’s life including me. Thank you very much. I’m learning wood working from you and planning to challenge a lot this year.
☺️☺️
I appreciate that you have equipment that us novices use. I also enjoy seeing another woman in the woodshop!
Glad you like it. Yea! We need more of us!
I’m Irish and I never have a problem understanding your accent. And the way you pronounce TEMPLATE is how we do on this side of the water. The fact that you are only a few years doing woodworking is amazing and a credit to you. I always imagined that you would begin with “ as a child I used to help my grandfather in his shed “ how wrong was i. 🇮🇪
Haha! I forgot to mention that my grandfather was a woodworker. But sadly I never got to learn anything from him… I like to say that it’s just in my blood ☺️
We in the UK pronounce drawer and template like you do, so it's always sounded perfectly normal to me when you have said them!
I actually tried telling one of the “template” haters that I say it the same way as ppl in the UK, and where do you think English came from?? That made him really mad…. 😂😂
Yes! I was about to comment the same thing! It’s a nicer accent than other parts of America I think.
I've literally never heard someone pronounce "template" the other way, like _tem-plətt._ Tem"plate" like "plate" obv!
24:00, your philosophy on mistakes...this is the reason I subscribed to your channel. I love how you process through things on camera when your work doesn't go as planned. I really appreciate your attitude and share your videos with my daughters.
So awesome to hear ☺️
Anyone who grew up watching New Yankee Workshop knows exactly what a “draw” is.
Right?! Haha
LOL. The New England accent is quite another thing!!
Right!!! That was my thought exactly! You say it however you say it girlfriend!
👍🤣
“What is a yute? “
I started woodworking 2 years ago when I wanted a new nightstand, and didn't want press board. Since then I've built 2 desks, a TV stand with storage, a tv shelf, 3 side tables, and a shelving unit for my printer. You are an inspiration.
A good craftsman doesn’t not make mistakes, they just know how to fix or hide them.
Haha yup
I can't BELIEVE people are letting your accent inform their decision to view your content. It's baffling. I find your content informative, helpful, positive, uplifting and yes, entertaining! Your channel is on in the background while cooking and just puttering around sometimes. Keep doing what your doing!!!
I'm glad you answered the table saw question. I bet there are sponsors just drooling over putting a new saw in your shop. Love your content and I'm glad you did this video. Sometimes it's hard to realize that the person we watch so much of, is actually just a real person. Cheers!
Haha yes. I’m a real person! 😂😂
You know, you're probably the most requested 'next guest' on Steve Ramsey's interview UA-cam show. After this, he won't have anything to talk to you about! I really like how much you smile and laugh in your videos. P.S., I hope you enjoy your new space!
😂😂😂
I am very glad you answered the question about your accent. Personally, I absolutely LOVE the way you say "drawer." It makes me giggle every time you say it. Don't ever change that for any one.
About failures: Yes, I love it when youtube woodworkers (and others) show their failures. BECAUSE I want so see how they deal with it / fix it / make it work. Shit happens to me all the time and I learn most from other peoples oopses and their fixes. Please keep showing these.
Tamar - you are so awesome and I'm so happy that it sounds like things are going to be happening for you! Please just don't become unrelatable like many other UA-camrs out there! Aside from your ingenious engineering, your relatability is what I love most about you! Thanks for this awesome video!
So awesome to hear! Thanks! I’m not going to a commercial shop. Don’t worry 😉
@@3x3CustomTamar As a guy with a small basement shop with a jobsite tablesaw and not enough space to rip a board longer than five feet, I've found you to be perhaps the most relatable UA-cam woodworker, with your garage shop filled with entry level tools. Being largely self-taught myself, I've enjoyed watching you develop your skills.
@@christopherfeld6371 not at all to take away from Tamar but to add to her knowledge check out rag n bone brown. He does similar work to her and doesnt use the fancy tools like a lot of others
Thank you so much for what you bring to us . The joy of watching you makes my day .not only do I learn how to get out of a jam, I also see what a great Mom you are .
Wouldn’t change a thing , especially your accent. And to make mistakes is human , keep doin , I’ll keep watching..😇
Haha thanks so much!
I always figured “3x3” came from a guitar headstock since the first video of yours I saw was a guitar for Crimson’s build off.
Every time I hear you say drawer I''m instantly taken back to watching the new yankee workshop. And those are good, comforting, happy memories.
😂
I loved the way ; how you handle everything and on top not letting your passion die ❤️
☺️☺️
Tamar, you are such an inspiration and a joy to watch. Thanks for this insight. Look forward to future videos.
Awesome to hear! Thanks!
I love your openness and honesty. You answered questions I didn’t even realize I had. Great video!
Love all your answers. Stay true to yourself and your family. God Bless you and your family and all your adventures.
Thank you for sharing some details when you certainly didn’t have to! You are one of the first woodworkers I chose to follow as I started my path. I admire your commitment to your family. You are a great role model in both ways. Keep up the good work, mom!
Thanks so much!
I have watched so many episodes of The New Yankee Workshop, but the thing I remember the most is one time I saw him use a hand drill to screw something in and just before the shot changed, the bit fell out onto the table. Even Norm isn't perfect.
Tamar, thank you for the video and your honesty. To address one point - enjoying watching you fail. My wife and I love all of your content (and she is particularly inspired by what you achieve) - and watching you fail is something that we genuinely appreciate. It helps us connect with your honesty and experience, and reminds us (when we fail) that it's OK. Excited to see you grow and adapt to the new space, the new challenges you throw yourself, and especially see you enjoy the new saw! All the best.
I enjoyed you Q &A. Yours is one of my favorite woodworking channels. Most of the guys just make shop furniture, which is great, but I love that you make real things that you want to have and use. Also, I grew up in Queens so I love your accent. It's like being home again.
Haha! Glad you like it! I went to queens college 👍
Olá, bom dia!!! Gosto muito de seus vídeos e dos trabalhos Fantásticos.. Parabéns!!!
I can’t say enough how much I appreciate your videos Tamar! Thanks so much for sharing your story and talents with us!
Thanks for your honesty and your insight.
You said it, "I learn from the mistakes", love your articulate discussions and down to earth approach. I hope you create a classic guitar someday, that would be a great milestone to your career.
I hope to create one as well!
Hello Tamar, I know you are a great inspiration for many Brazilians woodworkers, beginners and experienced, and I hope you continue gracing us with your gorgeous presence and excellent videos. I learned a lot with you. Thank you.
Awesome to hear!
Thanks for sharing your experiences.
I loved the roll up chair videos so much! I really feel like you brought us along on a journey. I could not have done any better. I doubt I could have even done nearly as well. I know I could not have made such good videos.
Wonderful video, Tamar! You're one of my favorite UA-cam creators. Keep it up!
Awesome to hear! Thanks!
Wow! Tamar thanks so much for sharing a bit about you. You have inspired me to give woodworking a try and during these trying times we are in, I have learned and accomplished so much from your videos. I really enjoy watching your projects come to life, you are very talented and I think a great teacher! I am sure your children are the biggest benefactor of this talent. Side note I have built almost all of your jigs 😊 not that I needed them yet for projects but I learned so much just building them and learning how to use the tools as well. Grrrr people thinking your husband does the build! I loved your response! You should see the looks when I land my own plane at some strange airport and I am the only one to get out, then some guy asks you flew in here by yourself?? I laugh and say no I just used the autopilot! Looking forward to watching your next guitar build!
Haha used autopilot!! Great answer!!! 😂
Tamar, thank you for sharing your time and wisdom with the world. God bless you and your family.
Thank you for being so candid.
☺️
I started with a skill saw, random orbital sander and of course a router. Those 3 tools made desks, Cedar chests, shelves, cabinets and numerous more projects. Life was much simpler with 3 tools, now with a big shop and endless power tools they all get used less. But it is more enjoyable when I can use them.
👍👍
Wow !
I started watching you at the beginning of your channel ☺️
I just noticed you now have over half a million subscribers !!!
Congratulations 👏👏
💜💜💜
☺️☺️☺️ thanks!
Awsome Q&A video Tamar love your wood working videos so much and I'm looking forward to your next videos to come in the future have a great and fruitful day with your family and Godbless you guys 😊❤👍
I love your channel and this video was great!
I love the questions and answers.
I started watching your channel right when I got in to woodworking and I learned a lot from your tips, techniques and ideas. Keep up the great work!
Awesome to hear!
Great video. FAQ’s are really helpful, in finding out more of what it takes, to either build the project, and to make the videos. I have one piece of feedback. For me, its not that I like to see you fail, its good to see that everyone makes mistakes, including you. But what is great about that mistake, you come up with either a way to work around it or a fix.
Totally get it. It could be really disheartening when you fail in your own work and all you see are perfect projects other ppl are making. And that’s why I chose to include the mistakes. Bc I remember feeling that way in the beginning 👍
Exactly, because I make those mistakes alot, it's nice that you show how you dealt with the mistakes. Thank you for posting videos.
Of all the colloquial pronunciations saying "draw" instead of "drawer" is one of my favorites. I always assumed it was because you 'draw' it from the chest and it was a different word altogether, but seeing you spell the word the way I'm used to made me realize it's just a different (but not uncommon) dialect. Love your channel.
Common where I’m from! 😂😂
If the verb is "draw" like you _draw_ it from the chest, then the person should be the drawer, and the drawer should be the _drawee_
😜
So glad you did this! What a great channel and learning how you got your start is so cool. And glad to see you may be experiencing some shop upgrades soon!
🤞🤞🤞
Have you seen those mechanical tables that you can turn and they get bigger by splitting wedges and then raising other wedges in the gaps? That'd be a slick build to see...
I love hearing your accent. Draws is amazing!
😂😂😂
In my late 20s, I helped a friend move to New England. We went to a grocery store, and an announcement about daily specials came over the loud speakers. First experience with a Bostonian accent - I laughed myself silly. I am sure the customers thought I was nuts, and maybe rude.
Thank you so much for putting this together! It was cool to get some insight on how your channel originated and how everything comes together.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video, thanks for answering some questions for us the viewers. Long live your channel and I hope that you will always find inspiration for your awesome creations. You and other woodworkers' creators are always so much inspiring. One last thank you for taking the time to read and reply to comments on your videos.
So glad you appreciate it! Thanks!
Nice video. Thanks. I like your current shop setup. I have beginner benchtop/job site equipment. It’s encouraging and inspiring to see that great results are possible even though I don’t have a pro setup.
This is a great session. I really appreciated hearing about how you keep work and family separate. I like that you treat it like a "Real Job" (Yes, I know it is.) and keep hours for each part of your life.
You seem to enjoy what you are doing, and I am enriched by your content.
Haha! I always try to explain how it’s a “real job” to people 😂😂
My wife won't let me go flea marketing. She says it's a gateway drug. I think you just confirmed it for her :-)
😂😂😂
Great to hear. Thank you Tamar. I couldn't agree more, learning by making is the best way to start
Sometimes I’ll do research to see if an idea will pan out. And then I’m like stop it… stop researching and just do it… then you’ll get your answer 👍
Thanks so much for this. I appreciate the candor, information, and behind-the-scenes stuff. You're one of my three or four favorite YT'ers.
So awesome to hear ☺️
Re: "drawer" - Where I come from it's pronounced more like "droor." Accents are funny.
They sure are 😂
I would like to thank you for your great ideas your creativity and woodworking thank you very much
Thank you!!
Love your channel and content Tamar. Boundaries are important. Looking forward to many more projects!
Thanks!! 👍
Tamar, you do a FANTASTIC job with EVERYTHING! I am glad to hear you make more mistakes than what you show on your videos, for it let's me know even the GREAT ONES like YOU have challenges, and that it isn't just me! I cannot imagine you fizzling out anytime soon - I watch and rewatch your videos just about daily, for I learn something new every time.
THANK YOU for your efforts and your fantastic spirit!
Thank you for the Q&A, love your honesty. You are so real and I appreciate it
☺️☺️
I love this!!! I’ve been a design engineer for almost 2 decades and never got the satisfaction of feeling a creation that I dreamt up and made with my own hands. I love the creation process and feel that everyone should get the same joy. Keep doing things that make you curious and feel whole! Love your content!!!!
Thank you for your humility and honesty - love your work and simple approach to breaking down complex projects
☺️☺️
You are a delightful person, Tamar! I enjoy ( and really learn) watching you balance your family life and woodworking, eventhough the former isnt the focus. Thank you for your content!
☺️☺️
Thank you for your candor and making the effort to let us learn a little more about you. Wish you continued success.
👍👍
I really have been enjoying your videos. I mainly do metal fab but have wanted to learn more about working with wood. I like how your videos don't assume any knowledge about woodworking. Lots of great info. Keep it up!
Thank you for telling your story. You gave a very detailed background behind your UA-cam path, and it makes you even more relatable. Much respect and best wishes for your family.
Glad you enjoyed it ☺️
Thank You! You have given me some wonderful insight into your videos/projects. I will say that I regularly learn something from you. Again, thank you!
Awesome to hear!
thank you so much! i love all your answers and i actually love your little tips and sponsors because they’re always such useful tips and tools and it’s great to know these products are high quality not plastic junk!
Awesome to hear!
Thank you so much for sharing your story!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video Tamar, you answered many questions I had about your wood working, I have enjoyed your channel for about a year now. Keep up the good work.
Awesome to hear! Thanks!
Hi Tamar, that was interesting, I enjoyed it! Thanks for sharing your personal/family story in an appropriate way. I’m looking forward to your next project with the feeling that I know that bit more about it’s creator now 🙂
Glad you liked it!
Greetings from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷,thank you for sharing your story and answering our questions. You are one the my inspiration to start woodworking!Thank you 😀!!!!
Glad you liked it!!
Thanks for all you do. Appreciate the transparency in your videos and your problem solving approach to working thru a project. I, too, have moved on from frustration with mistakes to dealing with them as just a part of the process. I had a college professor say once that “confusion [read mistakes] is the state of learning”. I didn’t really grasp this at first, but I do appreciate that and it’s the challenge and problem solving part of woodworking in addition to the creativity outlet I enjoy the most.
For sure. The moment when you realize how to fix something in a creative way is what excites me. 👍👍
Thank you. I really appreciated the openness and humor. This is a great story, well told. I hope you continue to be able to laugh at things and know that people appreciate what you bring. UA-cam is a much better place for you being here.
☺️☺️👍
Very interesting - Your videos are interesting, inspiring, stimulating and shows your love of woodworking!
Great video Tamar. You are a true inspiration, and I learn a lot from you. Thanks !
Awesome to hear!

So refreshing honest and sincere. Love your attitude and personality and appreciate your skills and encouragement.

Cool!
Tamar, thanks for your response. Overall, I enjoy you teaching techniques ever more. Keep up the good work.😀
Thanks for the transparency on the UA-cam side. Always enjoy your videos, so creative and innovative!
Thanks!
Always liked your projects and the way you find solutions to problems. I have learned much from you. And now after seen this. I really like the person behind the projects! Much respect! And love the meaning behind the name!
☺️☺️☺️
I've been subbed to your channel for a while and always enjoy your projects. Thanks for the behind the scenes look and answering all those pesky questions. I was born and raised in KS, but my parents are from NJ. Your very slight accent sounds perfectly normal to me. 😁 Thanks for sharing!
Haha! I live in Jersey now, so I never hear any differences around me! 😂
Well done Tamar! Great video. Thanks for sharing so much about yourself. It's really nice to know more about UA-camrs we follow and respect. 😊 You're just great.
Glad you liked it ☺️☺️
Thank you for sharing some of your history and thought processes. You are an inspiration to follow my ideas for my own you-tube channel.
Awesome to hear!
A great video Tamar.. your down to earth honest approach is very much appreciated 👍
Thanks! ☺️
I find it fascinating to hear people's stories so loved yours! You are such an accomplished person in so many ways. It's admirable that you put such value on the importance of your family. You are obviously a very intelligent person and skilled woodworker as well. It is wonderful that life led you down this path to find such a passion for woodworking even though it wasn't your original goal. Many people have benefited from all the hard work you do in order to share your woodworking passion on UA-cam. Thanks for your video's and for sharing a little bit more about yourself with the woodworking community. Keep up the great work!!!
Thanks so much! It’s funny where life will lead you… ha! If someone would have told me 10 years ago this is where I would be, I would have laughed in their faces… me on camera!? Woodworking?!?! Hahah!
Really appreciated this video. Especially the work/life balance stuff. I am just starting in woodworking as I wind down my career as an engineer and machinist. I love your creativity and the way you explain how you did what you did.
Also, from the first video I watched of yours, I knew where you were from. NJ boy here.
I enjoy your videos! I have made two jigs from those videos. You are the sister I wish I had, your creativity is inspiring!
Great Q&A…you do a fantastic job…keep the projects going. Plus a extremely nice down to earth person.

Thanks for your complete honesty. Loving the videos, keep up the great work.
