Thank you for pointing this out, because despite my passing familiarity with every game shown, I didn't pick up on that at all. I need to be clubbed over the head with the metaphor before I pick up on it :)
I will say being yourself is important. Mainly don’t let others influence you. Be comfortable saying no. However it’s good to get out of your comfort zone and sometimes you have to be something you aren’t to find out who you really are. Example being more disciplined, getting fit and healthy, and being less nervous. The problem with being yourself or being something you aren’t is not using it as an excuse to do bad things. Being something you aren’t to become something you are isn’t about using it as an excuse to try new things that aren’t okay. It’s about becoming the best person you can possibly be. Better than who you were yesterday. Whether that be waking up early, actually going to the gym, making it to work on time, being less lazy, saying hi to that certain person. The number one thing to remember is the only person you are competing with or should ever compare yourself to is the you of yesterday.
For me, writing has helped. I write about my vulnerable fears or feelings that I'd would never tell to anyone. It feels like i get to know myself better on a deeper level. I encourage you to try it
"If you don't face those truths, you might be hard stuck forever." I just about started crying when you said that. I've been hard stuck for years because I haven't been honest about who I am and where I'm at. I still have a long way to go, but I feel confident I'm more self-aware now than I was 5 years ago. I've accepted more about myself recently, but I still need to learn to face and overcome those fears. Thank you for this video.
Recently I just started talking to my coworkers about things I liked and if they showed even a passing interest that's fine for me and then we move on. I notice everyone seems really happy to interact with me and I feel less awkward and forced. Of course, I happily engage in conversations about other things as well, but I just stopped stressing about it all.
that video was amazing. The background, in addittion with what you're saying, with all these characters fighting agaisnt themself is my favorite part. Thanks for this video
It's in our restlessness and fear of the unknown that we create stories to comfort ourselves. I believe that all spirituality stems from man's desire to find comfort in a brutal and harsh reality. I watch the birds and they fly, I watch the fish and they swim but neither are trying to figure anything out. They just do what they need to do. Be like the birds, be like the fish.
thank you; I've been struggling with this issue my whole life. learning to practice self acceptance even though it hurts like hell is s totally new idea for me
Came across this video randomly but im really glad i did, ive always wondered why 'Be yourself' was advice i was never able to resonate with and your perspective gives me a lot to think about. Thank you, and here's towards a happier, healthier 'Us'.
the marvel rivals example helped me understand what you were trying to say so beautifully since ive been playing ranked recently xD, anyway thanks for the video really needed to understand this in my life rn. I hope you're doing good too
i appreciate your insight brother it hits hard but i think your talking about knowing yourself more than actually being yourself, i believe the latter is about holding on to whats unique about you be it your values like you value trust etc anything makes you feel alive you know this rule does not apply if your a psychopath and like killing ppl ofc not its the good and respectable features in you or in any other person
bro i got it now after reading the vid title and rewatching the video your not talking about being yourself in meaning staying true to yourself but your talking about staying where you are currently and clingling on to your old habits and your old self which is the reason why growth is not taking place. i get your point yeah
What a wonderful suggestion today! It's been some time since I left a comment on your videos; was it 8 months? I'm not sure, but today felt unique. However, the outro at 6:07 all I can write is what a wonderful advice. Ultimately, I chose/wish to encourage myself to reveal what I made to more people (to be honest, I was apprehensive initially), not merely sharing it with myself and friends, but also by resuming/creating content or uploading on UA-cam and presenting it to others. I always questioned how much creativity I should sacrifice for content or, alternatively, how much of my character/personality ought to be showcased in the videos I create (Hopefully it will be one day one of the topics in your videos). Should I just follow what others are making or create what I love and want to create, or postpone until I feel I’m at a level that I deem good or at least acceptable? Up to this point, I haven't discovered an answer and haven't taken any steps, but I remain hopeful that one day I will. As you said, "You can't grow until you know where you stand; you won't just wake up one day as a completely different person. Being yourself is a lifelong journey/process, not a one-time achievement/accomplishment." You have no idea how deeply those words connect with me at this moment. I appreciate this amazing video you created today again thank you @doozyspeaks. After eight months, I’ve observed your advancement in scriptwriting, and I was genuinely impressed by today’s video; You've made significant progress, and I wish for you to reach the level you aim for someday good luck in your journey ヾ( ̄▽ ̄) Bye~Bye~
all of this feels so nostalgic almost like im stuck in deja vu hell, i feel like ive seen this video before like im just slowly following my old footsteps trying to regain my footing, have you uploaded videos like these before? did they get taken down is this a reupload or am i honestly experiencing new feelings for the first time even tho it feels old.
Yo. I haven't really anything i wanna bring up, tho i just wanna leave a nice comment. ... Okay maybe i do have something in my back pocket. The key to becoming yourself is to face and unwwrap all these lies, that your procrastination has caused. To face reality. To overcome the own ego. Maybe you aren't the most skillful and talented person to exist. Maybe there are people being better at [X], than i am. Yes. These thoughts do look scary. Though from experience i can tell, that it's worth it. Once you stop lying to yourself, you will be capable of being honest with others.
It isn't loving yourself that's the problem, it's loving all of yourself. Even the parts you're ashamed of, because why are you in the first place? You probably grew up around people laughing at it, and so you learned to be ashamed of it.
In my opinion I think you should be yourself but improve the parts you don't like about yourself you can love yourself but there's no shame in building a new you that you can love more Edit:bro I should really start watching the full video before I comment because that was exactly what he said
tldr; resting is good, resting and stretching in a cycle is also good. A very important part of working out and building muscle is *rest.* If you're always on, you can't rebuild what's been strained or broken. It makes sense for the same to apply to self-help. If you're always outgoing and stretching yourself with new experiences, you'll be too full on them to process new ones. However, it goes the other way as well. Old rechargeable batteries have trouble keeping a charge if they aren't regularly filled to 100%. The difference between a person and a battery, though, is the ability to grow capacity. If you stretch yourself to even 51%, it'll eventually become your new 50%. Even if your inertia is dragging on you now, starting to build up momentum is very possible. I know when I needed help and advice the most, I was the least willing to accept it. The fact I ever got any momentum shocks me when I think back on it. I remember thinking that I was a special, helpless case, or even the opposite, that I would get out of it on my own, but I know now that it could have been easier and faster if I tried to get assistance sooner. *It gets better.* It doesn't get easy, but it gets easier. You can make better decisions than you did yesterday, but rest when you need to. You matter. Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before destination.
Matthew 19:26 "But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” John 14:6 "Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” Psalm 119:105 "Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." Matthew 7:7-8 7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: 8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.
The Stormlight Archive series has taught me more relevant lessons to my life than that thousand year old religeous text ever did (and it comes with a cool story!).
@xerveeon I've gotten incredible lessons from books movies and games as well and even other philosophers and friends, but the fact that I've had relatively supernatural experiences and things happen that only God and Jesus and the holy spirit are the answer to, I know what I commented to be truth!! There is an invisible realm more real than the physical realm we can see, touch, smell, etc.
I find it poetic how the background footage is facing yourself in video games and it ends by them beating them
Thank you for pointing this out, because despite my passing familiarity with every game shown, I didn't pick up on that at all. I need to be clubbed over the head with the metaphor before I pick up on it :)
The point of "no finish line" to self-love is a hard pill to swallow, honestly.
I see the phrasing of "no finish line" in regards to self-love more as "there's no ceiling or limit to dictate how much you can love yourself".

i've been journaling on and off for a while now, but i do notice how much of a benefit it can be when i remember to do it, haha

Amazing video
Love the vintage video game gameplay in the back and slow paced music (and the actual speech itself)
the marvel rivals example helped me understand what you were trying to say so beautifully since ive been playing ranked recently xD, anyway thanks for the video really needed to understand this in my life rn. I hope you're doing good too

But, as my dad describes me, I am "an acquired taste." Like a really strong cheese lol.
You don’t be yourself in order to get something. You be yourself because it’s your only choice.
Thought you should know, thanks to you, I have joined the ranks of the people you mentioned at 0:37 :)
let's goooo. your channel's got good vibes and the thumbnails are 🤌
@@doozyspeaks thank you my man! I honestly was not expecting to enjoy the thumbnail process as much as I do 😅
Be YOUR best self :)
I try to do that

What if you’re too tired to want to improve? You just want rest.
i did my fair share of resting, nothin wrong with that 🤝

Comment for the algorithm
So you're basically saying if people don't appreciate you for you. Fix yourself. With no real foundation of motivation.

? What the hell kind of advice is this? Why would anyone not act themselves? LOL
