I found my passions at age 7 so I watched this very interested in what you had to say, and everything was so damn spot on. My passions are MMA and metaphysical cosmology. I think about them ALL DAY everyday, but there are definitely days I don’t at all feel like training or doing some reading. But no matter how depressed I may feel, helping others always helps and satisfies me 100% of the time every time. It feeds the soul
Oh, you’re just saying to do what’s meaningful. But you can very easily be passionate about what matters to you, and lots of people are. When people say “follow your passion” I think all they mean is just “let what you care about guide you towards what you should do”
I realized not to chase a passion otherwise I'll keep chasing for the rest of my life thinking something is there. When I took a step back to assess the situation, the answers were to find a purpose with what I do and most importantly, do what I need to do, and to go after what I love to do.

Even if it’s a desk job I’m scared of it 😭 But man it’s what I need to help out my parents, and also to afford my true hobbies and passions😭😭
Pursuit of passion is all about having a workable plan with workable steps that allow you to ascend to achieve in said passion. This type of experience is meant to help us learn to, and then later train to take desires in strides with growing mastery and growing drive. The lack of allure after certain amounts of effort comes from natural desire for change. Just because you pursue passions and purposes, doesn't mean that you the thinking, aging, constantly growing human being has to be held down by it all, life itself ebbs and flows, why should we be pinned against a rock by a hard place we've found ourselves or our skills. Adapting and learning and improving sometimes means taking a different path after feeling accomplished in your goals for your passions. You don't have to ever touch such a passion again, or maybe your fresher pursuits might eventually lead back to a place where such skills from said pursuits of passions could come in handy for bootstrapping it with other skills to accomplish things you find yourself even more passionate about. Though such series of routes may seem circuitous sometimes, there should be no need for any of us to excuse our own pursuits of living our own lives, nor our own life fulfilling pursuits. Respect your growth. Identify with it.
“happy, money, makes a difference” is too broad and surface level, literally anything you do could be considered a passion if we’re working w that definition. Edit: ahhh I see, passion doesn’t equal purpose generally. Interesting, I can only be passionate abt things that align w my purpose

Yeah, that is the concept of "dharma". Its not about fun, it's about purpose and duty. The reward of is not happiness, but contentment and peace. Passion and happiness are fleeting, dharma is substance and your reason for being here. Being a good reliable father or ending world hunger - all are equally valid and highly individual. Dharma is however always aligned with your values and it's never 'fun chasing'.
Im 26, been in auto body repair since I was 19. Its an amazing career that im truly grateful for i've learned a lot and made some good money for my age and only a HS education. its become unfulfilling and borning. my guess - its not my purpose ? and its not being as useful as i feel that this world needs. which i think is Less waste, more love, more connection and more care. and lots more.. but Im going back to work in january.(I need money) but Im going to carry my purpose with me while I do my job to make things better the way i can while i figure out how i can make things better for the future, our future generations. and even generations now. try to respark my natural curiosity.. and my instinct. to help and to be of contribution.

I feel you. I had that same fear, and I think a lot of my passions and hobbies, as a career would have gotten old and stale for me really quickly. I got extremely lucky, and finally found one of my passions, that, when coupled with the things it gives my family, and the service that just going to work provides for them, has been burning strong for me so far... good luck in finding those parts of your passion that won't get stale if you make them your life.
Great video, dude 👍 As someone who's pivoting between careers and has been chasing passions most my creative/professional life (I'm a musician and audio professional), I've realized that finding fulfillment doesn't come from chasing dreams - it comes from fulfilling the values that are most IMPORTANT in your life, and doing so allows you to tap into your greater creative potential 😊 The hard truth is that even a "dream job" can feel soulless and tedious. That's when you need to take a step back and evaluate the truest values in your life, focus on your basic needs, and then create actionable GOALS based on how you can best achieve those values and needs in your life. That's the best advice that I've been given, and it's most definitely a journey. Wishing you (and anyone who reads this) well 🤘🤘

Take it one step further and it’s actually narrative, not purpose that we need. There is no such thing as purpose. It is just a story we gaslight ourselves into believing so that we can further immerse ourselves into our lives. That being said, narratives can be made and that means you have the initiative to make it what you want. As long as you maintain a level of self awareness and introspection. You can maintain a certain level of control over your own narrative. You actually did this when you made the conscious choice to play games slower. This is also why religion is such a powerful tool throughout human history. It is a self perpetuating and inheritable narrative.
I think you should look at passion from a different perspective. True purpose is something that is very strong and has the ability to motivate in any situation but as you stated being a human means that you understand that you are not the center of the universe. With that being said how can I an individual enforce change or make an impact on the world? It is already hard enough to enforce change on self which I have control over, so what about things that are outside of me (the world)? In order to truly impact others and enforce change on the world I must lead be example and be the change or impact that I want to see. This is your purpose but it does not work alone as passion is needed in tandem to help push and convey the message. This is why things such as art, motivational speaking, activism, and sports have such a big impact on the world. The activities along with those who take part in them use their passion to convey and fulfil their purpose. This relationship between passion and purpose can be seen with even you regarding your UA-cam videos and your relationship with the people around you.
Hello, i love ur vids... wanted to ask your opinion related to this topic... im an animator working at a video game company, i recently started, i find it exciting but tedious at times, i got this job with hard work and following a passion, i never saw myself working on anything else that wasn't a creative field of sorts... my question is, im still young and confused so i never really stopped to ask what is my purpose towards others...what purpose do you think a job like this has? I found it while chasing a passion, and like u said, it's not always fun(lots of technical stuff), but i still like it bc im proud im part of the people that makes what i and many others have brought them so much joy(videogames) i like to think i am and i will help make games that other people will play and create good memories in their lives, either playing with friends or enoying a story, maybe one day a game i work on will inspire future generations like the games i have played have done to me, but idk, not all games create meaningful memories... i look forward to the release of our game to see the reaction of other people, maybe that will motivate me more, maybe then i will find my purpose
hello, i think you’ve already answered your own question! your art is incredible, and it’s normal for any job to feel exciting and boring at times. the great thing when your young is you still have so many different avenues to explore when it comes to your job, so if it ever becomes something you've outgrown, you can always move on and use your talent in different ways. you said you’re worried that 'not all games create meaningful memories,' but i think that's being too hard on yourself. even if your work brings joy or inspiration to one person for just a brief moment, that’s still a meaningful impact. i just quickly explored your work and i think that you’re going to inspire far more than just one person! be proud of what you’re creating.
