I'm a little disappointed that you took all that time to listen to the studio version, then finished the live version and had no comment on the difference. The studio version is great, iconic, and I've loved it for many years. But this live version is absolutely epic! Among the greatest live rock performances available on UA-cam. Would have been nice to hear your take on the 2 versions.
Dire Straits' live performance of 'Sultans of Swing' on the Alchemy tour in 1983 was epic, all the band were amazing, but Mark Knopfler's guitar solos were just phenomenal, this is one of the best live performances ever, in my opinion. I love the way the song has this beautiful slower part in the middle and then they bring it back up again to an amazing final part, fantastic! Mark Knopfler is a superb songwriter, guitarist and vocalist, he's written so many great songs including 'Brothers in Arms', 'Tunnel of Love', 'Telegraph Road', 'Money for Nothing', 'Romeo and Juliet', and many more. One of my other most favourite live videos is for 'Telegraph Road' also from the Alchemy tour, wonderful song, and the performance is just epic! Dire Straits were a British rock band formed in London in 1977 by Mark Knopfler, David Knopfler, John Illsley and Pick Withers. They were active from 1977 to 1988 and again from 1990 to 1995. Thanks for your reaction, Anthony. 😊😊
Same here, Mark Knopfler's guitar solos are just phenomenal and this song is one of the best live performances ever, I've watched the video so many times on youtube, never get tired of it! 😊😊
Lots of negative comments from groupies. I've seen groupies of many artists take over and/or try to cancel reactors that don't cater to them. Appreciate you keeping it real, AR. Everyone does not like the same things. Good thing there is such great diversity to choose from. I get a bit of nostalgia from this (moreso from the studio version), but that's about it for me too, and I grew up during the time when this was popular.
It's quite rare that I watch someone react to Dire Straits, and especially Dire Straits live, and don't hit the Subscribe button before the half-way point. I'm glad this song sparked some nostalgia for you, but breaking into the studio version after starting the live version was rather immersion breaking for me. This is, in my opinion, probably one of the greatest live performances in music history. Without a doubt, it's in the top 10. For me it's number one. Meanwhile, you have a bunch of muppets talking shite in the background, oblivious to the fact Mark Knopfler is delivering some of the most iconic guitar riffs ever, accompanied by some outstanding drumming and generally just some of the best musicianship ever recorded. I wish you luck with your UA-cam career, but I think you just did a disservice to music with this reaction. Just my opinion, and I mean you absolutely no disrespect or ill-feeling. I respect all content creators and appreciate the hard work that goes into a UA-cam channel. My one piece of advice would be to continue your Dire Straits journey offline. Telegraph Road, Tunnel of Love, Brother in Arms ... perhaps even listen to some of Knopfler's film score genius in the likes of Local Hero / Going Home. All the best.
You have no idea what you've done. You didn't even give the Alchemy Live version a chance to get to musical masterpiece that it considered to this day.
Mark Knopfler es uno de los mejores guitarristas del mundo!! Fundador de Dire Straits. Tienen un amplio catálogo... que triste que no lo hayas apreciado....
Hey, you’re sitting there like you’re the expert, no you are merely reacting but even that was pretty sad. They make records in the studio for their albums, not for radio as you kept saying? I think Dire Straits are beyond you, never mind, I’m out of here too 🤷🏽♀️
Wait.... you switched to the studio? NO. I kind of looked ahead a bit, and you were still on the studio. NO. The LIVE you started with was so much better. If you switched back, that's great. But I didn't stick around.
Wow...dont give up your day job mate!! 😂😂🤦♂️...if thats your reaction to Dire Straits then i hope you get a little bit more animated and excited or you wont be going far...just an observation and you were probably having an off day!!

Agree I don’t know why he did this. He’s not good at this won’t watch him again
More than a little disappointed…

Put the studio version away permanently.
I appreciate the guitar work on this song more and more each time I hear it. And I've listened to this song for 30+ years!

One of the greatest live performances ever!
No lies detected !
This live version is pure LOVE.
Everyone is now dumber for having seen that live chat window.
The Drummer Killed It.
El drummer va pasado de revoluciones , hasta Mark se sorprende
Terry Williams on drums
Nice to see you rocking the whole 70's Chuck Norris vibe

Who needs such a thick jacket at home?

Everyone misses the Guitar Pickin(G)! great skill, along with Knopflers' mastery of the guitar. Leave alone the Song Writing & Tunes!
Since I first watched this performance, I wished there was a drum cam :D
Mark Knopfler es uno de los mejores guitarristas del mundo!!

god mixing both versions, and too busy typing to watch the live version, live as in no autotune and extra umph for the live audience. bye!
A beauty.
live version is epic, wish you didnt disrupt it, guitar solo and extensions are famous!
just listen to it
👍
Money for nothing and the chicks for free 😁😁
Not seeing any emotions with this reactor.
Prince thought he was the best guitarist of his time.

I almost didn't either.
Dude, if you keep killing the song people have joined your reaction for, they will probably leave…see ya…
WHAT A WASTE OF TIME !! SHOULD'VE DONE STUDIO VERSION AT END OF THE LIVE... OUTTA HERE , THIS REDICULOUS
Sorry you can't always be entertained how you like to be entertained. Your time is apparently very precious. Hope you can somehow get it back.

1. I do this fulltime. 2. If it's not for me, it's not for me. I won't pretend to like it to cater to an audience.
@ARCLASSICS ...made no sense but good luck all the same...🤞
It makes perfect sense. Be reasonable and listen to what I said. I read your comment and respectfully answered.
