Taman Duta is also Old Money area. Traditional Consulate residence plus elite Malaysian Political family residences.
Yes, these areas mentioned in your video are top prestigious areas and price wise are quite dear for Malaysia....BUT surprisingly a 2000sqft high end condo in HK, will cost more than most of these top end landed properties.
Ultra rich is Bukit Tunku, the houses are far apart. You can start your walk there from Kenny's Bakers.... Bukit Tunku is much older than Damansara Heights.
For me I consider both neighborhoods to be ultra rich, I guess everyone’s definition of rich would be different. I’ll have to do a video on bukit tunku as well
Hahahaha ya. Here in Damansara heights, the mere multi-deca and centimillionaires live. Bukit Tunku only billionaires need apply 😂

The new ultra rich nowadays live in small gated bungalows of affluent area of town. You think that they are just rich, but nope, because they usually own or bought 3-4 houses of that gated bungalows as investments apart from other properties and businesses they don’t tell you about. Each house costs 3-4 millions ringgit.
Some I know owned such land and developed it and keep 2-3 houses as investments. They live as ‘quiet rich’. At least these are the trend I see among rich people that I know. The have Perodua myVi, parked next to a Ferrari. Each car for different purposes to fit different social settings. No more big luxury mansions in front of your nose kind of thing when it comes to these ultra rich. They value safety, security and privacy of their families a lot, which means living low-key.
True that. The nouveau riche ironically are pretty low key.
yea, rich pretend to be poor, poor pretend to be rich , real situations
@@ShengTheCraftsman nice way of putting it😅
Ultra rich are those own a few shoplots in a small garden area.
Those uncle would wear normal tee, short and sandal to jaga his store.
I nvr encounter ultra rich, I do encounter rich families. Their top hit is privacy and safety.
For your info there are many many millionaires in Malaysia..they just live in terrace houses like any other ordinary people. In Malaysia, most millionaires would just eat at roadside stalls and wear old t shirt n sandals.
Stop gaslighting people to make your broke ass feel comfortable. Rich people don’t eat oily street food
Hey Ben, I really enjoyed your latest video on Damansara Heights! It's great to see you exploring that area. Just a heads-up to stay safe while walking around there, as it's not the most pedestrian-friendly place. Keep up the fantastic work, your content is insightful and engaging. Yea I wouldn’t recommend people to walk around there! Thanks I’m glad you’re enjoying the content 😄🙏
It is pedestrian free
ultra rich actually live in bukit tungku. you'll see houses 4-5 storeys, go down the hills
I still need to check this place out
@@benfishermin yeah. Even when u see its one storey on the roadside, actually it go down 3-5 storey down on the hillside.
@@benfishermin those who own houses in Bukit Tunku ( or Kenny Hills) normally also have few other properties all around the world. Particularly in the UK and Australia.
Hi Ben. I prefer the walking perspective, one sees so much more than driving past. My daughter & I enjoy your videos😊. Thank you.
Walking is the best, thanks for watching 😀😀
Damansara Heights is actually considered under old money. I used to live somewhere nearby back in 70s. Most of the new ones are in gated and guarded area.
Ah okay good to know thanks. Has it changed a lot since the 70s?

Taman U-Thant is where the Sultan of Brunei has his Malaysian residence plus that's where many of the embassies are, including the US embassy. It's also near the Royal Selangor Golf Club. Taman U-Thant, Ampang Hilir, etc.

There are many other smaller places where the rich lives - jalan u’thant (near the US embassy) & langgak golf nx to the royal selangor golf club; the taman duta area (nx to bukit kenny); bukit pantai. These are the older places.
Good info thank you

Thanks a lot 🙏😎
What a really wonderful video. What a lovely neighborhood.
I used to live in Damansara Heights with my late parents, it's a pleasant place.
I lived in Damansara Heights since early 1980s to almost 2000, only after four decades since 1980s, there's a mall, Damansara Heights Pavilion. It's just around 5 to 10 minutes walk from the house I used to lived to the new mall.
Awesome, does it look like it changed much since you lived there?
@@benfishermin Yes, there many more beautiful houses, you didn't pass by a circle road of Jalan Beringin where, and the other roads starting with the word Setia. From your video, when you were backing the Pavilion, there's a hill, on top of that is a water reservoir, under the hills there are many bungalows and link houses, my late parents house is directly opposite the hill. When I started working, I haven't owned my own car, and had to walk up and down the hill to take a bus near Jalan Beringin. Those days are long gone, but still fresh in my mind. 😀
Damansara Heights is rich neighborhood. Bukit Tunku and Kenny Hills is ultra rich, old money rich.
The stuffed tigers are used as monkey repellent.
Awesome views of KL from Bukit Tunku. Drop by ISTAC if you’re there on a weekday.
Never would have thought this. I didn’t know there were wild monkeys in KL at all
@@benfisherminif there are jungles there should be monkeys. Where would they go if every corner of the jungle is cleared for human settlements? KLCC? 😅
Not only are there wild monkeys but like in the popular Wawasan hiking trail in Puchong there are wild boars too and a huge python was videoed last year. Ben you should go jungle bashing in the Zoo Negara Kemensah area but you'd need to arrange guides or hikers that know the area and
Thank you for visiting my neighbourhood😊
No problem, nice neighborhood!
Try TTDI a.k.a Taman Tun Dr Ismail. It's affluent too. Plus there's MRT nearby
This mall is not busy. Not a touristry area like bukit bintang. Phase 2 is still under construction. Hopefully there will be better tenant mix for phase 2. The food are a bit pricey for the nearby office workers to eat daily. Some restaurants have not open yet perhaps after seeing the low crowds in this mall and perhaps have decided to not open at all.
Hm I hope it will improve over the next few years in that case. I suppose they need more workers nearby, more foot traffic over there in general, or those stores/restaurants won’t see any profits. Let’s hope a proper food court with good prices will pop up at some point 😀
Nice 👍 Bro
Thank you
The rich area in ampang is Taman TAR (Taman Tun Abdul Razak). Its recreational area people jogging, golf club. With surrounded greenery n jungle. That is old money. There is a fine diding restaurant called Tamarind Spring. It is in that area.
Bro you should visit janda baik pahang is 20 minit from KL the place is a lot cooler from 23 to 17C, some ultra rich make money from that area, and pay visit also in tanahrimba it is just nearby.
Ben you can try Suki-Ya buffet at Pavilion Bkt Bintang, they have a clear konbu broth suitable for you. Apart from that they can even give you clear water to simmer your meats and vegetables if you’re wary. Most hotpot shop can give you clear water just that they won’t give you any discount for not having their broth. Btw, you can try Chinese roast pork, roast duck or roast chicken it’s soy free and roasted, you can get it conveniently at local coffee shops. There’s a roast duck stall in Chinatown about RM60+ for a whole duck. These are some of the keto/ carnivore favourite picks in Malaysia. Hope that helps.
Great tip thanks, never thought about just using water. Kombu broth can work as long as there is no sneaky ingredients 😀 I think for Chinese roast pork or meats they’ll use something like sugar, vinegar, rice wine. If they really just used salt and seasoning that would be great, I’m sure the recipe varies from place to place. 🙏🙏
Absolutely gorgeous. True, here in Naples Florida the super super ultra rich neighborhoods are gated before you even get to any visible home. Very beautiful homes thank you 😊
Rich folks love their privacy! Thank you 🙏
There’s a Mamak Shop at Plaza Damansara, an island of offices and shops. And the food is the tastiest!
Wow great to know, thank you 🙏🙏
31:13 the group there preforming From the Start (song by Laufey) definitely did an incredible job
Yea I thought they were playing so good! I don't know the original but I enjoyed how they were playing
You missed the " buy the meat n cook it place " at Swine @ Food Merchant supermkt. Food court go to Grandmama's level 4 Pavilion Damansara. Tq.
At current rate you will reach 10k subscribers by this december
i used to park just further up from Jalan Batai (near North Korea Embassy before it was closed) and walk to my office at Millennium Tower. It's a really nice neighborhood !
Bonkers and absolutely beautiful
Agreed!
Being in an affluent or ultra rich area, there won’t be food court around cos most families would have a ‘helper’/maid who cooks and they prefer high end restaurants. Thank you for your interesting video, amazing you were able to walk comfortably’ in that afternoon heat.
thanks
No problem thanks for watching
super thanks
One of the best value for money Steak I tried in KL is at Restaurant Yu Yee at Damansara Jaya. Can get a T-Bone steak for $28. It's not wahyu/angus beef or anything but it tastes good.
Good tip thank you!
There will be a phase 2 of the Pavilion Damansara Heights mall. That supermarket will be bigger once phase 2 opens. Btw, there is a food court next door at DC Mall, near the hotel.

Hey do one vlog on kampung Bahru eat a few nesi lemak minus the coconut rice would be interesting 😊
You’re right I should do a kampung baru vlog 😀
Beautiful area. How much are the homes there? Let me get my checkbook.😂
You must look hungry. Those chickens know!
Haha, online it says an average of 5.5mil RM / 1.1mil USD over the last 12 months. Chump change!
Yes to keto delivery definitely missing in Malaysia good market untapped let explore man
Yea seems very much like an untapped market in both KL and Bangkok. There are 1-2 in Bangkok but not sure in KL if any 🤔
Ultra Rich would also be in Shah Alam, Sierramas and Hartamas.
Nice I have to check out Shah Alam and Sierramas!
I've been to KL five times in the past 15 years. Never found that part. My friends aunt owns an oil company but their house is relatively modest. It is gated but the houses are middle class by Irish standards. On a separate issue how come you don't sweat profusely from the heat and humidity? Whenever I am there I have to carry a facecloth around with me all of the time.
The decision to not own a car or a motorbike for long-term stayers in Malaysia is not a good decision either as cars and motorbikes are very affordable and provides the most efficient means of transportation as opposed to be using the public transport alternative.
U can visit the villages located just outside the town limits in secondary Msian towns where most of the villagers are millionaires. The thing is they became rich within a generation they are unable to shed off their village mentality and continue to live in modest wooden homes just like when they were growing up
The nouveau rich. Not old money
Those pet chickens are expensive and they're getting popular in the States.
Never knew this thanks
dont expect to spend a few Rm on food at Pavilion D. Rm10+ to 20+ is reasonable. You missed food court type chinese food at the last stall at Plaza Batai. Rm7-10. Pavilion D just opened a few mths bck so it is still a little vacant. You could hv bought prepacked sushi at Bens Indep Grocers at Plaza Batai. There is also a Grandmamas restaurant at Plaza Batai which you missed.
A foodcourt is a must in Malaysian malls. Maybe it is still not fully complete yet.
I know right, I was surprised!
Scotty Kilmer does 3 x 10min videos a day.👌
He sounds like a smart man!
Damansara Heights is the Beverly Hills of Malaysia!
Yea it definitely feels like it!
Self built home seems nice but after building our house we're hit with maintenance after maintenance issues that are costing us a lot.
That sucks! 😩
Mega rich live in Bukit Tungku where many people from the Consulate and the members of the royal family. Some of the mansions there are European look.
Is everything gated off or can I see the houses easily there from the outside?
@@benfisherminfor Bukit Tunku you can walk around, but the houses are far apart, very spooky some of them. I know coz I used to give tuition classes to one Indian Malaysian family. More of ultra rich areas in KL such as Hartamas Heights, Country Heights at Kajang, Kenny Hills and few more areas.
I tried to search which one is actually the most expensive area but couldn’t find any real answer, everywhere just lists a couple of neighborhoods as being the most rich areas. I need to check those out too
@@benfishermin Happy to see that your channel has grown at a not so bad pace... In terms of land value, Damansara Heights, Kenny Hills, Ampang Hilir, U-Thant, Jalan Damai off Jalan Ampang and Bangsar are at the top tier with Taman Tar in Ampang, Country Heights in Kajang and a few others trailing behind because of their distance from the KL city centre. While in the top tier areas, almost all properties were developed in the 60's/70's - hence the old unsavoury architectures , Taman Tar and the others are newer - occupied by the children of the top tier owners, - to described it simply. Having said that, Kampung Baru is actually very undervalued due to its non-developed Malay Reserved land status but that will soon change. On the matter of which area is the most expensive, it can be quite subjective. While the top tier areas has higher land value, areas like Kajang etc host numerous fantastic houses. To put things into perspective, there's a house in Kajang Country Heights that took 7 years to built. Not due to work being halted in the process but because of the extensive details and complexities of the house. I can go on for a few days in this topic as real estate is one of my interests but I should stop here so as not to bore those who do read comments... Have a great time in Malaysia, Ben
