U need to work like a malaysian with minimum wages starting from rm1.5k, commute to work with lrt or motorbike, rent a room. Then u can talk the quality of life. American expats work in malaysia with high package as decision makers, to be honest local contents are capable in decision making too in fact could be better.

The streets are exceptionally clean compared to Malaysia. That speaks a lot about discipline.

Actually, we are doing it wrong..we are chasing capitalism so much..we Malaysians kids during 80s-90s busy aiming to work in big offices…we need to train our Malaysians with low income or middle income to be independent as in being able to do farming, repairing and other maintenance jobs..many western countries their citizens could do that for themselves..they dont pay for simple repair work..some can even assemble their own car..repairing old car and whatnot..imagine with american/european attitudes on being independent with our Malaysian culture that is friendly and family oriented..we become perfect.

Personally, i think America has deteriorated in general in the last 30 yrs. Used to be the dream place to be. Tp put in perspective, America is like a dilapidated mansion.

I am a singaporean. i cant wait to fully retire and live in malaysia. hope the MM2H becomes even more friendly to foreigners looking to live or retire in msia.

1k USD is like MYR4.5k,and yes it is comfortable for a single guy. But most here have wages min RM 1.5k to RM 2.5k,max RM3k.. So things is little different with that wages in KL, Penang

Don't forget Ben..there is no language barrier here..everyone, even cleaners can speak english and school is FREE here an accessible to all.. even Thailand is no where near Malaysia, no one speaks a word of english in Bangkok and public school is NOT FREE. So, in short, I am proud of my country.

Conclusion: Malaysians are more educated hence its not like Cambodia/ Philippine / indo / thai

i think the difference is that in main malaysian cities, cost of living is like 2-3 times higher than outside the cities. in america however, the cost in the cities is probably like 5,6 times higher? and the rent is just absurd. and healthcare... omg...

Most if not all of the restaurants in Malaysia have sinks and soap where you can wash your hands prior to eating.

Foreigners do not choose Thailand and Philippines over Malaysia. Its just that Caucasians choose these places. Malaysia is still number 1 for Japanese, Chinese, and Middle Eastern people.These people spend a lot more than Caucasians in Asia. So we dont really care that we dont have as many Caucasians in our country, as they bring more social ills to Asian countries.

Ngl this place, TREC, is pretty dead. As a 31 y.o. local, I wouldn’t go there or Changkat (your previous video). My top picks for more lively and local nightlife: 1. Petaling Street bar hopping scene, e.g. Concubine, G-String, many more 2. The two clubs in Hartamas: Kokomo, Vault 3. Telawi street in Bangsar: e.g. Six plays hip hop since you’re into that 4. Clubs peppered across KL: Pitt, Kyo, Gemu Those saying the KL clubbing scene isn’t as good nowadays have probably grown out of it and may not be in touch with the best places these days

if your salary is rm2000 in malaysia, you live in kampung, rent is 200, you have 1800 to spend on car, and food, and you can make a homestead garden to produce free food......

I think it might just be the way the burger (all of it, including the patty) is prepared. Every single roadside burger joint is going to taste different, some are absolutely amazing, and some are just meh. I reckon you got the lesser experience. And please don't mind the salty comments, the burger is very deeply rooted in Malaysian culture, because believe it or not, not everyone can afford MCD, KFC (borderline luxury food to some), so when roadside burger joints existed, it was a godsend. Like them or hate them, it's definitely cultural and a point of pride of Malaysians when it comes to these burgers, so it's expected to receive a little saltiness when reviewing these burgers. just my 2 cents

If only every immigrants and expats from higher income countries try to live in our country with the income like we do here, they wouldn’t be saying every thing is cheap. Moreover when most food product is imported. When was the last time locals went to a supermarket and bought a local “beef”. What we got is buffalo, imported from india.

Born and grew up in Singapore but migrated to Malaysia when I was 12. Then went to college and worked in America and lived there 12 years. When I quit my job as a civil engineer ( I made good money) to move back to Malaysia, my boss thought I was crazy. ( I bet he's thinking 3rd world country impoverished). My life much better here. Way better. Will never go back to both Singapore and US.

by the way when it comes to food, London is the best. Almost all types of cuisine, top notch quality. NYC is not bad, KL is better, London hits it out of the park.

I think for a family, RM10K is very comfortable. I think I can do it for RM7K in Ipoh. I mean I would earn out every night, not even cook and just laze around, swim ,play tennis and golf. Then go to the beach every month.

The malls to go for anything related to digital stuff in Klang valley 1) Low Yat Plaza in central KL 2) Digital Mall in Petaling Jaya, Selangor. If you can wait, get it online, Lazada or Shopee, which will be cheaper.

I just lived 2 months in Malaysia. For actually moving there Malaysia is actually better than Thailand. Dating prospects are much better as the education level and english level is so much higher. Just drinking is too expensive.
