I love the sound of music on vinyl records! That's what I grew up listening to. Me and my friends had stacks of 45's that we played on record players with one speaker. Love his voice and love the song! Everyone sang sha la la and sha na na back then for backup vocals! Lol!!
Its not just about the vocal range but about how he expresses himself in the song, the empathy and soul. You can feel the pain. People get turned off because of the simplicity and directness of the records from that time. The 50's era music spoke more directly to men than women for the most part which is not happening today.
The genius of Roy Orbison. 🙇🏼♂️🙇🏼♂️🙇🏼♂️🙇🏼♂️
If a man wants to inspire some romance in the home....put on some Orbison and grab your girl in the kitchen and just start dancing. At 71, I still put it on and dance around my living room. I feel so fortunate to have grown up in the best music era of all time.
Roy had the most beautiful voice of all time.
Roy was sent to earth to bless this planet with his magic. Love, love this. 🕸🕷🕸
While Roy started recording in 1956, his biggest hits were in the early-mid 60’s. He continued performing until he died. Had a major song released a month after he died and prior to that was one of the greats of Rock ‘n Roll in the band the ‘Travelling Wilburys’.
I was graced to see Roy Orbison live in concert in 1986 here in Seattle, he was absolutely amazing!
Elvis reportedly said that Roy Orbison had the most perfect voice and was the best singer in the world. As an interesting bit of trivia, the song that made the Big O a superstar - Only The Lonely - was orginally meant for Elvis.
Never heard this b4. I'm 22. All I can say is I wanna hear it again.
Gentlemen ! -------------This is a 60's Classic---------Fall, of '61, I was 15 y/o, a HS Sophomore in Denver, at South High School. I LOVED this song !! Never ever, tired of it .--------MJL, 77 y/o
Love this song....grew up listening to my parent's Roy Orbison's greatest hits LP. Thanks for playing it on vinyl. PS - this is the first time I have ever heard someone say that they are not a fan of Roy. WHAT?? Not possible. :)
Classic singing the likes of which we'll not ever hear, again.--------------i was in 10th grade when this came out.
Love this song! One of my favorite classics
Roy killed this one , such a classic.
I remember this when it came out and I recorded it on a reel to reel tape recorder.
I've never this one by Roy before. Love it!
The difference between most other singers and Roy Orbison was that most other singers sang the song, Roy lived it.
The Big O and The King were good friends. Roy once talked about how they used to hang out playing and listening to music and drink Cokes. One of my biggest regrets is not begging my parents to take me with them to see Roy in 1986.
I love the song blue angel roy orbison was a great singer. Wrote and sang some great songs.
