Elvis always said that if he could sing like anyone it would be Roy Orbison. A great tribute to a man with a majestic voice.
Roy's voice is able to convey such emotion and pain that it can make a stone cry.
"Crying" is one of Roy Orbison's best songs. I'm glad you chose a slower tempo song because it really shows off Roy's operatic voice and incredible singing range. Heartbreaking lyrics but beautiful.
If there was one word I could describe Roy Orbison’s voice it would be “haunting”. You just get cold chills.
I saw him in concert shortly before his death and he was amazing. One great song after another... and hit those notes! The packed ampitheater went crazy. Greatest concert I've ever seen... and I've seen a lot.
The "Touch of your hand" line ALWAYS puts a lump in my throat.
This took me back. In the early 60s, I was lucky enough to see live a number of the then top US acts, here in the UK. The likes of Roy, Gene Pitney, Everley Brothers, Brenda Lee etc. And it was true - the audience sat and listened. Then the Beatles came on the scene and the girls' screaming drowned the music. Happy Days!
The tragedy he went through when his wife died in an accident could contribute to his ability to show real pain while singing.

This is a live performance, too. What a spectacular voice.
This song speaks to anyone who had a broken heart, Roy's singing is so unique, so much depth to convey the sadness.
What a great reaction to a CLASSIC song sung by an amazingly unique voice that was Roy Orbison! NO MISTAKING HIS VOICE, EVER!
An absolute classic performance. My friend Cindy Walker wrote "Dream Baby" ans Shadaroba" for him. He also covered her classic "You Don't Know Me".
Always loved this song!
Roy was known as "The Voice" because he was totally unique. He had a five range octave and could slide from one to another effortlessly. His Black and White Nights concert is amazing, Elvis's TCB Band played and the lineup of stars who came out to sing with Roy goes on and on. Roy has so many great songs, it's hard to pick just one.
Roy was one of the most beloved and admired musician by other musicians.
Roy was such a great singer. Great reaction!
Always loved Roy. I love his song In Dreams.
