- This video is part of my Devil Mythic Path ascension playthrough. This is based on a poll conducted on my channel and it's also the reason I am playing as Isaac from Castlevania. My party will be Seelah, Wenduag, Daeran, Regill, and Nenio. Over time I will release builds for all of them. I plan to romance Wenduag and achieve soul mate status with her. I have never done that nor have I achieved ascension as a Devil so some of this will be new to me. I also haven't done a full playthrough of the game in years so please bare with me. :)

here's hoping you keep going with this playthrough. Was looking to watch now that all the DLC is out, but nobody else seems to be doing one that's starting new.

I've got one of my own running at the moment, basically running my own version of Shadowheart from Baldur's Gate 3 if you'd ever like another viewpoint.
that griphon is so huge is almost comedic seeing it strotting around in indor, epic
And the fact the entrance to the maze is a squeeze through a tiny gap in a door 🤣

It's not too far away from a full size dragon, which is particularly funny. :)
I'm enjoying the episode, no offence but the more I watch your characters fight defensively, the more I'm glad I follow the simple strategy of 'fuck it we ball'.😂
Side note:
Shifter stats with master shapeshifter is absurd especially with weretouched in act 2.

Looking forward to more of this - I too saw the Mantis Warrior archetype and straight away thought "Oh, sounds like time for a Devil playthrough, and just in time for the expanded Devil content!"

Never played these games and I’m excited for your play through.
A note on the stinking clouds: Dretches create those. They're the little imp-like guys that run around. Not too hard to kill, but the clouds are very annoying. I prefer going turn based and prioritizing them asap.
Also, if you have any items that didn't get successfully identified while adventuring and you lack identify scrolls, just go to any shopkeep and the items will be identified instantly.
Ive done all the good mythic paths and the Lich , I just cant get into evil throughways but ill have fun watching you go through it

Great let's play. I try to avoid plot points, as I haven't played WotR yet (finishing up Kingmaker for now), but it's great to see how you handle fights. Great opportunity to learn from experienced player.

Excited for more of this let's play. I can't seem to get past Woljff's first quest without doing a respec at this point lol. Fantasy spreedsheets are too much fun.
I appreciate all the VAs, however Amelia Tyler as Wendy always stands out as the favorite.
I used a toybox setting that allows party members to move through each other to make charging more viable. I do like the option of using a flying pet though to get around that for Seelah.
Yeah the griffin is working out spectacularly.

When leaving the maze it gives you the option to pick up all items. If you don't select to pick up all of them, but select the stuff individually then you have the option of not leaving the current location where you are at. Basically you can loot everything and go back to the vendor and sell it all without all of that running around

I am enjoying the playthrough! If the numbers don't keep up, it might be better as the occasional livestream. It seems that's where most Let's Play content has ended up over the years. Regardless, I appreciate it!
I thought about that but I plan to continue with the DAO livestream. I really want to get through the series before the new game comes out.
That thing with her Wendy's spikes disabling is a long-standing bug. Once she gets her manticore form, it won't be a problem, but you have to keep an eye on it in the meantime. It will just turn itself off whenever it feels like it. It's one of two reasons I refuse to use shifters in my parties now lol.

I know it's technically a cheat, but I always turn the party weight limits to max via ToyBox. I hate encumbrance in games like this
Yeah encumbrance is annoying but having a pet makes it MUCH easier to deal with.

How do you like that class so far? I remember it being lackluster when the game first released.
You get some items that help against cold later in the Shield Maze - so you can leave this for now and come back later.

If you haven't played in awhile, they 'fixed' the Dretch AI awhile back on Core - they will cast stinking cloud on their first turn no matter what. it is quite annoying until you get delay poison, communal. but once you do, they are basically just free kills.

I always make lann and wendaug hunters.
It suits there story and hunter is a better class.
If you want easy mode early game mount wenduag.
I always turn little miss pshycho and lann/wenduag into a hunter with horse pets.
I cannot overstate how much horses add to survival and damage.
Yup for sure they make great use of that class. For this run I've never tried Shifter so I wanted her to do something new. Plus the Griffin takes up enough space without another pet running around. 😂

My most recent time I went with three pets through the Shield Maze. Pets are great on the Switch Lite where the screen is too small to micromanage!
Nice yeah that's the way to make it MUCH easier.

XD i started a unfair run with this dlc as well. Honestly i love the fact you dare the same thing.
My experience so far: buffing chapter 1 for normies resulted in unfair becoming worse than unfair. i spent 4 hours on 1 fight, which i remember to beat in 4-5 attempts usually. and it took me 4 hourse because i had the enemy to roll 1 on his standart action and on his bite attack while i had to roll 4 crits in the same time. 32-36 damage on a attack vs 22 hp seems to result in permadeath. and yes im not even talking about the fight in front of the "treasury" XD
anyway lets see if the hyppogriff will carry you. I gave hyppo to lann after clearing the maze with wenduag (Bloodseeker)
And yes it was unusually hard because my main char is a sorcerer with martial weapon prof and my smart ass decided to pick shield and enlarge over grease.
If you're curious about my party classes heres a little infotable:
- MC: 4 Sorc, 2 DD, 10 EK, 2 DD, 2 Sorc
- Cam: Shadow Shaman maybe dip later on
- Arue: Court Poet
- Nenio: Brown Fur
- Daeran Dual Curse (Battle, Life)
Flex:
Seelah 2 Beastrider, 18 Pally, Lann Hyppogriff archer, Ember Winter Child->Witch (yes i know what you want to say but i dont care :D), Regill Titan Fighter (i really wanna see gnomes dual wielding 2 handers), Wenduag Bloodseeker.
Woljif Sosiel and Greybor i didnt bother changing so far. Woljif will pussy out anyway, sosiel doesnt allow other builds because of game immersion (maybe the new book archetype), and greyboring i dont wanna bother with until i wanna do his quest.
So far i can tell, the Mariner is insanely strong. everyone else has still to join or unlock their potential (looking at you Camellia)
Anyway, you said you will only continue this lets play if you have enough people interested. I say you should continue anyway, even if its just for the 82 ppl who pressed the like button until now :D would be quite a shame if this ended before we see the new Devil stuff!
BTW have you planned on a bloodseeker? because i cant shake the feeling this class is going to be SOOOOO bad even tho it has a incredibly tempting theme.
Yup I've been looking at Bloodseeker and have some ideas on how to make it better. A video will come out tomorrow about that.

Just a heads up to your viewers if you only go in with one character against the water elemental he will not use his AoE and does a lot less damage as I don't think the AoE misses where is normal swing has to hit an AC
Thanks for great content. I am playing WotR and Rogue Trader. I have BG3, Deadfire, and actually DOS 2 waiting for me.. :) and here is my question how do "plan" you gaming. CPRGS are big games. I use to compare to big books with replay value. Only RT and WotR could last without problem for 3-4 years. Do you follow a list or how do you do? All advice is welcome. As you can see on YT channel I read mostly so maybe there is a bit of competition there with gaming vs reading .. have a nice day!
I plan my games around a schedule that balances what I want to do vs what people will be interested in. For example I haven't regularly done Pathfinder content for over a year. I knew the new DLC would spark interest and that's when I decided to dive back in. I am livestreaming the Dragon Age series now because I love it and because the new DA game is coming out later this year. So it's a matter of being strategic in a way that stays true to yourself while providing content people actually want to see. Hope that helps!
@@SlanderedGaming thanks great advice even when you don't review games. I do the same with books but haven not played so many crpgs at the same time.. before it was only Pillars of eternity for example, or Dragon age as well..

Do books that give you bonuses now have an icon that sets them apart from lore books? That's a huge qol change if so.
I am pretty sure that they do but haven't picked up any yet so cannot confirm.
@@SlanderedGaming Unless I'm wrong, isn't that the book that gives you the glaive bonus at 2:07? Not that you've needed it.
Is there a reason you didn't give your MC his second sword?
If you dual wield than slashing grace doesn't work and I cannot add my dexterity bonus to damage. We'll be able to switch this up at level 12.

It’s so interesting seeing people play with full party. I always play solo Unfair haha. Doing a magic deceiver solo run and that class is just absolutely OP.
Yeah Magic Deceiver is amazing. Didn't think of it as a solo class though that's pretty cool.
Better turn off that Defensive Fighting for good, yeah..
