I always thought "The Rain Song" was one of Led Zep's most underrated songs. Page's guitar work on this song is probably some of his most beautiful. It proves they can do more than just rock.

This entire performance literally gave me goosebumps all over! This was masterful. That entire orchestra was great, but I was particularly moved by the guy playing the pizzicato string bass. I played string bass in my high school band, so I have a deep affection for it. Indeed, a spotless performance by everyone involved!
Led Zeppelin are an iconic group having grown up in the Era was just amazing. The 60's and 70's were just an awesome time to grow up in my opinion. Great group with a great reaction. Thank you for keeping such a timeless classic alive for the younger generation to see and hear.

My favorite acoustic song ever. I remember when it came out trying to learn it in standard tuning, could never get it right, finally GP magazine tabbed it in the alternate tuning he uses and it's not a very difficult song to play. Having said that how in the world JP composed this in that odd tuning is simply mind blowing. And finally, to play it live in front of an orchestra like that flawlessly is another mind bender. Hard for me to say too much good about this composition.
I saw Page and Plant in 98 in Dallas. Was my first concert. I was 15 and got jimmy to wave at me during the intro of Going to California. 3rd greatest night of my life so far behind my twins being born and my son having his small intestine and liver transplant when he was 2. Been to hundreds of concerts the past 24 years and nothing has ever been close.

My beautiful mother was always SO young, she even liked a lot of the same music as me. And now, suffering from Alzheimers, in a facility far from me...not recognizing anyone, not even her children, it's unbearable. All ya'll that are lucky enough to have your parents, siblings and any family and friends you love, alive and well, please say a special prayer tonight and every night, thanking God, the Universe or whatever you believe, for your time here on earth with them. And tell THEM every single day how much you love and appreciate them. You never know if tomorrow is too late 💜

I was fortunate enough to see the concert twice. Once in Knoxville, TN and once in Lexington, KY. There had been a couple of off days between their last performance and Knoxville. Plant did an interview where he said they hung out at Dolly Parton's cabin in the Smokey Mountains. I thought I could finally die after seeing"Since I've Been Loving You."
So jealous. I saw RP open for The Who in 2002 and it was a religious experience. I think each member added would have been ascension to another level of nirvana. I’m glad you had such a great experience.
This song always makes me cry tears of joy.... I never got to see LZ but I had the pleasure of seeing Plant & Page twice approximately 1994-1995. Once for the Unledded tour at the old Boston Garden [with the Boston Symphony Orchestra], and then a handful of months later at the new Fleet Center [now TD Garden] which was a full on eclectric show. That 1st Unplugged show with the BSO is arguably the best show I have ever been to considering the history of the band, the Orchestra & the venue... I was about 21/22 yrs old at the time and just thinking about it now makes my eyes water... There was sooo much love and unity in that arena that night that it was palpable... 💯☮🎶♥️

I want to say this was from the concert/tour "Get the Led Out". My best friend went to this and said he wished he didn't go because the rest of his life would suck compared to this one night it was that good.
I don’t like picking a favorite band because I love so much music but, I think if I had to choose a band that has spoken to me my whole life it would be Led Zeppelin. My father was a musician who played guitar and drums among his voice and he played a little keyboard too. Anyway he was my biggest and greatest musical influence on my life. He had an incredible music collection, he loved Zeppelin too. So I grew up with a lot of classic rock. I was a 10 year old kid listening to Zeppelin and Floyd and Beatles and just so many others. Too many to name. I’m 43 years old now and I suppose I can finally say that Led Zeppelin has gotten me through a lot of good and, a lot of hard times too. One of the worst days of my life.....driving to work in an Ohio suburb, raining, Zeppelin tickets locked in my glove compartment and WMMS broke in the middle of a song that Bonzo (RIP) had died. I pulled off the road. As I watched many cars pass by, many pulled over. I knew we were connected at that nanosecond in time. No cellphones. Just pure intuition. I'm thankful I've been honored to see RP too many times to count. 2019 my husband and I saw him at The Mann in Philly. Mostly to gaze at a legend. Shocked at how very decent he still sounded. A great show! We didn't expect Zep tunes but we were blessed with 5. I cried through the Battle Of Evermore. We leave Tues to see him and Alison Krauss at Blossom in Ohio. I know it might be the last time. Him, us, who knows. More important issues in the world? Sure. To me? Not on the night to come, June 28, 2023. Thank God for my brothers who gave me the best music education. It's diverse. Generational years older than me but it's a cherished memory. I'm counting the days and happy to be going on a road trip. Younger somehow.... 🥲🙏

Anyone who claims Jimmy Page is sloppy should listen to this. Spot on accurate. That drummer was the best Bonham substitute, including Jason. RIP Michael Lee.
Well, to be honest, Page’s live playing has been known to be sloppy at some points, but yes. His performance here was impeccable!
Part of why people think Page is sloppy live is he doesn't necessarily equate things exactly as they were in the studio.
Michael's performance here has always been one of my favorites. Seeing him just beat the crap out of those drums with such enthusiasm and joy. Love it! I've watched this many over the years. Never gets old.

Wow, that took me back. Remembered I have this on VHS! lol Forgot I had it til I started watching this. Page and that guitar will take you away and then Plant comes in, oh my, some of the greatest stuff ever. Saw them on the Walking into Clarksdale tour. Such a musical experience!!!

Hey Jamel👋🏼, I saw Page and Plant at The Irvine Meadows in 95… It took an ENTIRE orchestra to replace Jonesy, but it was great! No Doubt opened for them. So good🎶💝
