Most people think that STheaven or Kashmir is the crowning glory for Jimmy but in my opinion this is the height of creative genius. His chord structure is unique and not found anywhere else. WOW. So glad to chose the live version. It shows his musical ability to the fullest.
Agree. I remember buying this album, hearing this song, and I was in stunned disbelief a song so beautiful could exist. I tried to learn to play it on guitar for years till finally it was tabbed out and it's in an alternate tuning that makes it pretty easy to play. But yes the most beautiful acoustic song ever, IMHO.
Agreed. This live version with the orchestral accompaniment, can't be topped. The Rain Song showcases Page's guitar talent but in acoustic form, showing he's equally blessed in his genius (with those amazing variant tunings) on either electric or acoustic guitar. The Rain Song is actually quite sparing in lyrics, but Plant delivers them in his unmatched glory to bring the seasons alive. All made possible by a little Rain (that) must fall ... Going to California, also an amazing song featuring collaboration with guitarist Page and John Paul Jones on mandolin.
Stunning to see Page play this entire song through flawlessly live and have it sound as clear and soulful as the original studio mix. There are no limits to his genius as a composer or as a performer.
Great choice Angela, that song is a Led Zeppelin's classic. For another from that dynamic duo, try their live Babe, I'm Going to Leave You from 1998 at a benefit concert, it is my favorite version of that song and one of Jimmy's best and most emotional solos. Great stuff and glad you are doing them. Thanks, looking great as always and another very nice time with great music and you. Enjoy! 🎵
The last song I heard, before arriving at my grandfather's house, when he died of lung cancer, on a cold January day. Part of the lyrics speak how I felt that day: I felt the coldness of my winter, I never thought it would ever go, I curse the gloom that set upon us, But I love you so. When I hear this song, my mind goes back to that day, 30 years ago, and I feel the sadness all over again.
Hi Ms. D., This is absolutely Great.. Did U know that Mr. Robert and some lady named Ms. Alison Krauss made an album or two.. (I know who Ms. Alison is; Alison Krauss and the Union Station; Bluegrass) ♠W.G.
My favorite Led Zeppelin song and I love the live version from MSG in 1973...always gets me all emotional...this band can rock with the best and then in turn do something lovely like this! Led Zeppelin is considered probably in the top 2-3 greatest rock bands ever and when they had a one time reunion in 2006 they had 20 million tickets requests in one hour! The GOATs!
Always been one of my favorite songs ever. Isn't strange that a melancholy song can make you feel better when you are down. This has always been one of my go to songs.
You are a stunning lady, Angela. I'm profoundly happy you're take a musical Journey through some of the Greatest Music ever written, and played, by some of the Greatest Musicians that ever lived. Enjoy. Abudanza!
After George Harrison of the Beatles criticised Zeppelin for not having enough ballads, Jimmy wrote the music for Rain Song, and as a reference to Harrison, Jimmy used the first two notes of Harrison's "Something" as the first two notes of Rain Song.
oh how we Zep fans love this song...it is so theraputic for many of us. For me personally, this song ensures that my eyes stay fully hydrated. " upon us all, a little rain must fall ...." yep.
This classic song is as special as these two masters. His guitar work is perfect. The orchestra is such a warm and special touch!!! They add so much power & expression... On a final note your smile is breath-taking!!! Thank you for reviewing this. video....
This is a transcendent version of my favorite Zeppelin song. Most people rave about Stairway to Heaven but for me, The Rain Song is much more beautiful.
This song and the album it came off of is perfect. I was going thru a BIG break-up when this album came out. You all have heard the story before girlfriend goes off to college. So I was a tad sad.. I did not mean for that to rhythm.. But these men (Plant & Page) are masters and are in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for good reason!!! Take care of yourself pretty lady. My generation had so much great music. I adore your channel!!!!
Good choice, Angela. My favorite 😌is the tribal version of Four Sticks with its drums 🪘and Indian percussion grooving the beat like Santana. Very danceable. 💃🏻🕺🏿
So glad you found Zeppelin. They were just a cosmic creation. Had to be outside other worldly powers that intervened and collided these four SUPERSTAR musicians together in 1968 ..so young...so incredibly gifted. They were the very very very best at their individual talents. Best Drummer ..ever.....best Bass ,/ Keyboard player...Best lead vocalist / front man . .EVER.....and the Wizard that created this entire band in his head. Lead guitarist 🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸🎸 Jimmy Page. A trivia note for you ...when they first got together and played for the very first time ...in some small studio .....they played an old Yardbirds song. Train Kept a Rollin' ....they began the song and in a few seconds all four stopped and were stunned at how powerful and perfect they played together. You've got alot of Zeppelin to explore. Hope you'll keep em' coming. Your reactions are priceless. Thank You.
This song is great.... You are the sunlight in my growing. The fire grew so low. PLUS the strings add so much to this wonderful song.... I especially love and enjoy the ending guitar section. The ebb and flow of this classic rises and falls...!!!! Upon us all a little rain must fall! Well, tell me what do you think??? Beautiful!
Great song, great reaction and you look stunning 😍. Your hair looks beautiful with a touch curls. Always a big beautiful smile. I wish you love and happiness.
Hi Angela, I have been following you only for two months but I really enjoy watching your natural, and honest reactions. It would be nice to see you react to the group Ambrosia, the song "Your the only woman". I know you receive many many suggestions and probably won't even see this message but I had to try. Keep on reacting to music from the 70's and 80's, it brings back beautiful memories and nostalgia to our lives in these harsh times. Peace and Love =)
This was an awesome performance. I think you'll really enjoy the Madison Square Garden live version of this song, it's funny that you mentioned dreamy or however you said it, because this whole song is set to Robert in medieval times, it's pretty amazing to watch. It's like a mini silent movie. Maybe it's unfair to ask you to react to it but at the very least I think you should watch it. You won't be disappointed!!
This is a true meastro at work, the beauty of Jimmy Paige was his alternate tunning nobody really did it in the 70's and Jimmy mastered it. This song is really hard to play in standard tunning
I was lucky enough to see Page & Plant in '94. I was never able to get tickets to a Zeppelin concert as I was still pretty young the last time they played in Denver. Tickets were hard to get back then.
I'm just on a Zeppelin reaction binge these days, and I came upon your video. Always loved this rendition of 'The Rain Song'. I also like the studio version, of course; it has always been a beautiful ballad. But the orchestra just adds another layer☺ And it is always great to see your enjoyment, of course. Cannot help but smile myself 😊
Your hair looks absolutely beautiful. You have to watch the whole group playing this song. This is beautiful, but it ain’t like the whole band doing it back in the day! It’s an acoustic bass, not a cello.
I saw Plant and Page in 1997 in upstate NY. Most amazing concert I will ever see. It was an unrealized dream come true. Jimmy is just incredible and Robert, older and with a little rust, shook free the cobwebs and did mostly a 3 hour Led Zep show.
Plant and Page had some wonderful musicians playing with them. Drummer was Michael Lee (RIP 2008), formerly toured with The Cult and Thin Lizzy. Upright and electric bass Charlie Jones, now touring bassist with Alison Goldfrapp. And Robert Plant`s son in law! Not featured here brilliant guitarist Pearl Thompson, formerly of The Cure (and I reckon sadly missed by them).
New to me! It's ok! Let me suggest a tune, but I don't know if I've suggested it previously! The song is Time Waits For No One by The Rolling Stones! Now that song has some truthful, humbling and powerful lyrics! Check it out!
Always have loved this LZ song and this was a great rendition of it! Always loved the wonderful reactions to these songs courtesy of you, Angela, one of the fastest rising superstars on UA-cam!!!!! Keep up the great work!
Great reaction! Fun fact: Zep were challenged by the Beatles (George Harrison) to write a ballad...so Page started it off with the first 2 chords to Georges song 'Something' !
Damn, that drummer had the spirit of John Bonham in him on this night! I love seeing these guys when they were still fairly young. It's depressing seeing them today. 😢
Great reaction to a great song. Circe Link do a wonderful cover of this. You looked a bit more serious at the beginning than usual. Maybe things are going good for you?
This song never gets old to me. The album version has him hitting some high notes that he simply can’t hit anymore (this was years after Zeppelin broke up). Their later live version from celebration day of Kashmir is jaw dropping both considering their age and that it was a one off show. Millions of people were in a lottery to get the tickets. Good react.
Was always gonna be a tough ask for anyone to fill Bonzo's seat but I think Michael Lee did one helluva job not only here, but on the whole of the live album, Unledded. Ironically, may they BOTH RIP.
Hey there pretty lady this masterpiece is from the 1970's. And all of these songs were great, especially this one. Plus the orchestra adds so much fullest and warmth. Everyone is at the TOP of their respective game!!! Take note how the drummer is just sitting there waiting for his turn. And when his turn comes he makes it worth the wait. Wait and watch for the part near the end when Jimmy throws the pick on to the floor and finger picks. I hope I do not offend you by telling you your hair and smile are gorgeous. Please continue to explore this music... You WILL find that it is worth the effort... It ALL is good, some is just a tad better.... Well what did you think??? From the smile and sparkle in your eyes I would say you LOVED IT!!!
I love when you do Zeppelin and I like your reaction videos! I know you like the guitar so i'm just going to put this out here....Still got the blues for you live from Gary Moore, I'know you'll like it :-)
It's a kill shot vocal moment for Planty on the Live Song Remains The Same Album version ( don't do it don't do it 🎶) is the extra lyric as we turn on that massive drum brake. It's a tear jerker even for an old man. But it's a Kill moment.
I'm surprised you do not have at least 100,000 subs. We have lots of folks to choose from and after watching you for a number of vid's, I've hit the subscribe. So, how about 'Paradise By The Dashboard Lights' by Meat Loaf.
As much as you enjoyed this, the 1973 live version, combined with "The Song remains the Same" is the gold standard! Please see it for a transcendental experience.
" And that's how icons do it". Words of wisdom Angela.
This is one of Zeppelin’s greatest songs, and your reaction to it just shows why
You’ve got good taste 🤟
Most people think that STheaven or Kashmir is the crowning glory for Jimmy but in my opinion this is the height of creative genius. His chord structure is unique and not found anywhere else. WOW. So glad to chose the live version. It shows his musical ability to the fullest.

Agreed
like how the hell does he do this in an alternate tuning? beast
Agreed. This live version with the orchestral accompaniment, can't be topped. Going to California, also an amazing song featuring collaboration with guitarist Page and John Paul Jones on mandolin.
I agree. There's nothing like it. It's one of those songs that reminds us of the great gifts bestowed upon us by our Creator.
Stunning to see Page play this entire song through flawlessly live and have it sound as clear and soulful as the original studio mix. There are no limits to his genius as a composer or as a performer.
You should watch the entire concert.
Hi Ms. D., One word Beautiful............Just Beautiful..... This could be better than the original.. ♠W.G.
Marvelous version of their beautiful song!! Glad you really enjoyed that. You smile when the orchestra started in. 😊🌹
I don't think it is more beautiful than the one in Madison square garden
Beautiful song. This entire "unplugged" session and album is stunning. "Thank You" and "Kashmir" are also standouts
7:35 Jimmy chucks the pick on the floor for that last fingerstyle flourish - nice.
He did that in live shows back in the day as well.
beautiful song and even more beautiful woman
Great choice Angela, that song is a Led Zeppelin's classic. For another from that dynamic duo, try their live Babe, I'm Going to Leave You from 1998 at a benefit concert, it is my favorite version of that song and one of Jimmy's best and most emotional solos. Great reaction Angela, you cant go wrong with Led Zeppelin tunes, so much great material! Keep it up and you look beautiful!
Upon us all, just a little rain must fall.
The orchestra really adds a lot... what a beautiful song.
Always been one of my favorite songs ever. Isn't strange that a melancholy song can make you feel better when you are down. This has always been one of my go to songs.

This is my favorite song by them with Stairway To Heaven a very close second place. Fantastic reaction by you 🥰 of course. 🙏🏽✌🏽❤️
Stairway to Heaven second really? Stairway to Heaven has always been the most popular song in the world.
@@michaelasay8587 Yes really and I am sure I am not alone in that opinion even though it be an unpopular one.
They just don't sing about love like that anymore 🎸🎶🤘🔥
This song and your beauty just made my day
Absolutely stunning piece of music .
oh how we Zep fans love this song...it is so theraputic for many of us.

Ahhh those pretty chords, just my favorite
Love the hair. You look like Lauren Bacall
Stunning looks
You got to hear the Studio version (Led Zeppelin) also listen to 'Babe I'm Gonna Leave you'
This is such a great acoustical rock & roll song. Thanx Angela, I'm glad you enjoyed it too.
Zeppelin songs are journeys. your mind travels and goes there.
This is a transcendent version of my favorite Zeppelin song. Most people rave about Stairway to Heaven but for me, The Rain Song is much more beautiful.
My favorite rendition of this classic Zep tune! Nice choice. This was from their 1994 MTV performance. Can't believe it was already that long ago.
Masters of guitar and voice.
Masterpiece
So happy you reacted to this song Angela
These guys are certainly special I'm glad you appreciate them. By the way you look beautiful tonight.
This song and the album it came off of is perfect. I was going thru a BIG break-up when this album came out. You all have heard the story before girlfriend goes off to college. So I was a tad sad.. You picked my favorite video of this song! You don’t see this one at all.
This is the kinda song your just totally relaxed when you listen too it
listen to the album version soooo good
The cello is played by Charlie Jones, Robert Plant's son in law (FYI :)
Or upright bass. Personally, I think the Page-Plant version was better than the origional, Such a beautiful, romnatic yet powerful song.
As "Pa" said, marvelous version. Good reaction!
Really good choice....nice song...a masterpiece
IMHO their most beautiful song. And I'm with Vic Provost below... try the live Babe, I'm gonna leave you.

It's one of their best songs, I always like it more the Stairway to Heaven.. drove me crazy trying to learn to play it.
For yourself, check it out from the Madison Square Garden’s concert in 1973. It’s beautiful and no string section.
This song is great.... You are the sunlight in my growing. The fire grew so low. PLUS the strings add so much to this wonderful song.... I especially love and enjoy the ending guitar section. Such an XLNT selection. Page.
I've always loved the gorgeous outro by Jimmy, halfway through of which, he tosses the pick down and finger picks the end.
This is a true meastro at work, the beauty of Jimmy Paige was his alternate tunning nobody really did it in the 70's and Jimmy mastered it. This song is really hard to play in standard tunning

Love your reactions, I must add that you are absolutely beautiful inside and out.
Jimmy's guitar work is sublime.
Beautiful song for a Beautiful woman

I have to confess, I wasn’t paying much attention to the video, I was a bit distracted by how BEAUTIFUL you are!!
Thank you for doing this. The studio version is a little better.

Not writing about the song, just to say you look absolutely gorgeous. :)
I like her hair back straight
Beautiful song

I saw this tour in Stockholm Sweden 1995, it was amazing.

Their later live version from celebration day of Kashmir is jaw dropping both considering their age and that it was a one off show. Millions of people were in a lottery to get the tickets. I can imagine this song being written in 68ish in one of their basements?
Wonderful pickup my dear
Was always gonna be a tough ask for anyone to fill Bonzo's seat but I think Michael Lee did one helluva job not only here, but on the whole of the live album, Unledded. Ironically, may they BOTH RIP.
The only thing mysterious as music is life itself and what a couple of concepts they are!
I like the format of your channel. And your natural reactions.
Recommend Over the Hills and Far Away. I also enjoy Plant's performances with Allison Krause.
yep... they are good together

Plant and Page's version of "The Gallows Pole" is amazing.
Great reaction Angela.
I think this is the most beautiful song that Led Zeppelin has done! Jimmy Page is a genius! The artistry is amazing
As much as you enjoyed this, the 1973 live version, combined with "The Song remains the Same" is the gold standard! Please see it for a transcendental experience.
