Hey Brother Jamal, please take a minute and check out my favorite black band (Mother's Finest) song baby love , Micky's monkeys, and there are many others.
I was a teenager when this came out. It was our go to song when we wanted to mellow out with some fine green. What range they had as musicians and song writers From "The Rain Song" to "Rock and Roll" to "No Quarter" to "Kashmir" to "The Immigrant Song" to "When The Levee Breaks". I mean seriously, these guys were simply amazing and I feel so fortunate to have grown up listening to them. It set the bar very high for the music I would listen to forever more. 🖖🏼 Live long, and prosper Jamel.
This is my "fix me" song from Led Zep. ANYTIME I need a little help, a pick me up or a good cry, I put on The Rain Song. It touches my soul. Beautiful!
Jamel- you have GOT to see the unplugged VIDEO of Robert and Jimmy doing this song. It will make you CRY. Also, “ THANK YOU” -our wedding song!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Also, it's important to give mad kudos to John Paul Jones. His understated, yet spot on bass is the structure of each song. and keyboards. and sound engineering. without him, no Led Zepplin.
John Paul Jones is definitely the unsung hero of Led Zeppelin his arrangements his studio magic everything. Him and Page were some of the most sought after session musicians in Europe long before Led Zeppelin, they were well seasoned musicians by this time.
I just played through a transcription of his work on the album recording of I Can't Quit You, Babe. Masterclass, he pulls out just about every lick and trick in the book and makes it sound effortless. He is one of my idols in many ways.
When this song would come on the radio in the car, we’d all get really quiet and soak in the beauty. I miss the days of my youth. Thanks for helping me re-live it a bit and thanks for introducing these songs to new generations.
Me and my friends un Highschool (2010-2014) would always sit down and appreciate these songs, this one was a group favorite and we loved playing along on our guitars

There’s something about that song that reaches into my spirit and twists me upside down and all around and then shakes me out and throws me back in my chair and all I can do is say thank you can I have some more please!!!!!!! Pleeeeeeeeeese!!!!!!! Does anyone else like that song? I think it’s mystifyingly amazing beyond all human understanding because it isn’t understandable on a human mental level. It is totally cosmic. There's such tasteful, beautiful detail in the guitar, and a triumphant feel when the drums come in - it's sad and moody and strong, all at the same time. I could listen to this song all day. That would be a good day." - Rick Rubin
I’ve been listening to Led Zeppelin for over 50 years the more I listen to them the more better they sound, I’m surprised when people actually have a favourite song they’re not really Zep fans they’re just bandwagon fans!
True story: hated Zep. Had a roomie in college who was obsessed with them. Coming off an acid trip one night, he played "Ten Years Gone" for me and it was life changing. I will always associate that song with a girl I was deeply in love with around that time. And it turned me into one of the biggest Zep fans ever. They went from being a least favorite to in my top 3 ever. You can truly get lost in so many of their ballads. "The Rain Song" is no exception.
The way your jaw dropped when the song gets even more beautiful, right after you said how beautiful it is...love it. This is definitely one of the most beautiful songs ever made by any rock band. Keep this stuff coming please ✌
This is my absolute favorite Zep song. While Kashmir and Stairway get the press ... to me this is the band at its perfect essence. Light and Shade, Hard and Soft ... just magnificent
The genius of Zeppelin is that their repertoire is so diverse. Everything from country to blues to metal. This is an example of a symphonic ballad, which in itself has elements of symphony, blues, a little jazz and rock, and boy... did they knock it out of the park! It's just beautiful!!!
To this very day, after 25 years after I intro'd her to Zep, she STILL has those moments where she asks me, "They really can play EVRYTHING, can't they?" I smile & nod, like always. Then she gets that far-away look in her eyes, and whispers -- almost to imperceptibly to herself -- "Amazing..."
Led Zeppelin! You hear loud thundering drums, roaring guitar riffs, vocals screaming out to the masses.... then, The Rain Song comes on. You sit down, close your eyes and start contemplating what's going on with your life. How can one band create so many, so many, pieces of art and enjoyment? That's why people love Led Zeppelin. ❤
Hey- just wanted to say thanks for not stopping this song once. It’s one you just have to absorb and cutting it off would have taken us right out of it. You rock!
Epic, beautiful, everlasting sound. Pure symphony at it's best. Music and vocals are inceedible. I'm almost 67 and listening to Zep sound for 54 years now. I can't live without their fantastic sound. Their songs are here to stay forever!! ❤
Zeppelin isn't simply a "rock" band. They incorporate blues, folk, and all sorts of genres in their tunes. They still jam even with acoustic and a strings arrangement. Incredible band. Please, PLEASE listen to the studio version of "In the Light". One of Robert Plants favorite Zeppelin tunes. The emotion felt in that song is second to none!
"A little rain must fall..." I had a lot of rain in my life from age 15 to 23. This was the song that got me through. This song gave me the hope that someday the sun would shine in my life again, and it did.
I truly believe that the music of the Led Zeppelin will continue to be played and listened to throughout the centuries, just like Beethovan, Mozart and the rest of the great artists in the history of classical music. Sadly, most of the artists and the music will be lost and forgotten 50+ years from now, but I'm beginning to believe that Led Zeppelin music will never die. I was 16 years old when I first saw them(saw them 6 times)and all I can say is that they are even more awesome to hear them live. I remember...every time they played at the Tampa Stadium. What an experience! As always, love the channel, love to you and yours!! Please keep playing this beautiful music 🎶🎵
The video which goes with this is also beautiful. All us ladies wanted to be the princess in the castle and have Robert rock up on his horse to rescue us! 💙💙💙
I've been a Led Zeppelin fanatic right out of college(late 80's) and my appreciation for them only gets stronger through the years. There are other bands I love almost as much , Rush being one, but there has never been a band that had more talent than Led Zeppelin and over time, that only becomes more clear. Their music is timeless, ALL of it.
“Hey hey what can I do””That’s the way””Tangerine””Ten Years Gone””Going to California””The Rain Song””Ramble on” just lay back, close your eyes, and enjoy the ride👀
Then I was 17 years old my then-boyfriend and I got tickets to Led Zeppelin. They were nosebleeds seats. Oh, probably the worst seats I've ever had for a show. As we are sitting there I notice The people beside us and in front of us being asked how many people were in their group. So I pipe up And say, "we have two, why are you giving away front row seats?" To my astonishment They were. We saw that show front and center
Yeah the roadies would find attractive woman in audience to give them front row seats apparently the band likes it that way I seen them in woodlands Texas and the same thing happened with one of the ladies in our group!

By now you are starting to understand why Led Zep. Is the greatest band/group ever. They have a song called..THANK YOU..a must for your lady..thank you
Led zeppelin are without doubt my personal favourite band. Their musicianship, personality, performance and incredible range of music that they have in their work that I think is still so fresh and relevant 40 to 50 years after they made this groundbreaking music just shows how far ahead they were as a band. When John Bonham passed away,Jimmy Page,John Paul Jones,Robert Plant and Peter Grant their manager had the respect to not get another drummer and carry on making a fortune and I think that shows how much they respected and loved each other!
This was Robert Plants song in the movie 'The Song remains The Same'. Jimmy Page's song was Dazed and Confused. John Paul Jones was No Quarter. John Bonham was Moby Dick.
Once i learned the tuning to this, i drove my bandmates insane with it. I dunno what it is that makes it so great, but its like magic. Just feel good when i hear it.
I love your respect for great music brother! This song encapsulates every emotion for me. And I could tell it got to you to...I guess it’s universal! They are by far my favorite band of all time. Thank you for being such a honest and humble man to share these songs and your emotions with so many people that would otherwise never hear them. You are doing a great service to mankind! Thank You!
I never got to see them. But I did see Robert Plant, Now and Zen tour at Red Rock's in Denver. Jimmy Paige showed up and they did a number of Zeppelin songs!! Anyone who has been to Red Rock's knows how lucky I got!!
Thank you for taking me on this ride from long ago..I was about 7 when my brother started listening to Zep..even as a young girl I'd get lost in the beauty of the music! Whole Lotta love was almost an acid trip..the music flowing between the speakers..and the Big Log is still a relaxing favorite...so so many choices that you'd need a month straight to get through the catalog..thanks friend..you've truly found ♾ infinity
That song shows how beautiful they could write & perform. I love how "out of time" the singing is as well as the guitar at times, just laid back, not worrying about fitting into the beat in a strict sense. Just gorgeous...
This is, by far, my all time favorite song by Zepp. My first album was Led Zeppelin II. Changed my life. Poetic rock genius that has stood the test of time because the music is just that great! From a time where music was a story and a song took you on a journey into a different place beyond the present. Amazing! It was truly about the craft and not about just topping charts. I thank you for continuing to react to one of THE BEST bands of all time. So glad you are enjoying the ride J!
We used to play through a good portion of this as a soundcheck/ "maybe someday, perform" song back in early 90's. Probably have listened to this on repeat more than any song...ever.
The children on the cover are posed on Giant's Causeway in Ireland, a mind blowing natural geometric stone formation-- the column rise out of the sea in Ireland and in Scotland. One of the most beautiful places I have ever seen.
@@kathybwell Yes, those are his son and daughter. His son passed away on July.26, 1977 from a stomach virus. The song "All My Love" is written as a tribute to his son, Karac
I always had a saying about Led Zepellin, there's nothing softer than Led, and there's nothing heavier than Led. Try doing the song Thank You. Fantastic song Robert wrote about his then wife Maureen. It is so beautiful.
🎼Thank You Deeply for reacting to this song, Jamel...For me, this is my Favorite song from my Favorite Band...Now granted, I'm a sucker for a good ballad...but THIS is a GREAT ballad...It has everything...And I can't tell you the emotion it brings out...So Beautiful, so therapeutic, and that Orchestra...ooh...oh man, This is a song of release...Let it go...All the pains, and disappointments one has in their life...and the warm tears just stream down my face...do not hide...but embrace❤️🎶
Can you imagine conceiving, writing, arranging, recording this epic & then publishing this to the world to share in its other world wondrousness . Mind blown….
Led Zeppelin has so many great songs . growing up in the 70s they where and still are one of favorite bands. Jamel would you react to "Montrose" Rock the Nation ? Or any song off on " Montrose"
thanks, man. i finally figured out why i love to watch young black people discover Zeppelin. it's your heritage. black soul and blues interpreted by musically gifted white boys. God bless.
Beautiful ❤️ love love Led Zeppelin ❤️🎶 I have listened to this song a thousand times, I can listen to it a thousand plus more times. It never gets old Chills everytime. Music for your soul 😁
Jamel I love Zep, but Big Log is my favorite Non Zep , Led Zeppelin song. Many youngsters dig Big Log because of GTA 5. Dude seriously do Big Log while driving in the Mojave at sunset. It would be epic!
If you can react to more Led Zeppelin, then suggest “In the Light, “No Quarter,” and All My Love.” Also, Jamel, would you react to Budgie? They’re like the Welsh/U.K. Rush. Less well known but just as influential. Budgie songs: - Guts (rules hard) - Parents (LOVE this really special track) - Breadfan (Metallica covered this) - In the Grip of the Tyre Fitter’s Hand Budgie, like fellow trio Rush, has a really diverse and brilliant array of complex arrangements and moods. Also, great song titles like “Nude Disintegrating Parachutist Woman” lol.

Whole Lotta love was almost an acid trip..the music flowing between the speakers..and the Big Log is still a relaxing favorite...so so many choices that you'd need a month straight to get through the catalog..thanks friend..you've truly found ♾ infinity
This is my favorite song of Led Zeppelin! It just relaxes the mind! Pure perfection! Thanks for the reaction ❤!
That song shows how beautiful they could write & perform. I love how "out of time" the singing is as well as the guitar at times, just laid back, not worrying about fitting into the beat in a strict sense. Just gorgeous...
That's called nuance. Gives the music a soul
CAROUSELAMBRA by Led Zeppelin
A musical carousel and it's awesome
This is, by far, my all time favorite song by Zepp. My first album was Led Zeppelin II. Changed my life. Poetic rock genius that has stood the test of time because the music is just that great! From a time where music was a story and a song took you on a journey into a different place beyond the present. Amazing! It was truly about the craft and not about just topping charts. I thank you for continuing to react to one of THE BEST bands of all time. So glad you are enjoying the ride J!
This is the only song that makes me feel an emotional response every single time I listen to it. There's no other song more beautiful ❤️
So good. Achilles Last Stand is another great one.
Achilles Kicks Ass
@@Wild1BillS from end to end.
Great tune.. another is 10 years gone live version.
@@scottbegonias313 in my Time of Dying Too
@@cjm-jr9xk Right on. Great song! Bob Dylan covered it in 1962 ,it's been around since the early 1900s
Wow..
@garloorotox I didn't know that, thanks. I heard that the children are Robert Plants kids.
@@kathybwell Yes, those are his son and daughter. His son passed away on July.26, 1977 from a stomach virus. The song "All My Love" is written as a tribute to his son, Karac
I'd really love to visit that place one day.
@@dodgeboy90501 wow, I didn't know his son died. Such a tragedy, poor Robert.
"How Many More Times" by Led Zeppelin... will knock your socks off!!!
I always had a saying about Led Zepellin, there's nothing softer than Led, and there's nothing heavier than Led. Try doing the song Thank You. Fantastic song Robert wrote about his then wife Maureen. It is so beautiful.
My favorite Zeppelin song. I'm so glad you did this. This song is love, it's magic. It's the reason you close your eyes and feel the sun on your face.
Recorded in 1973-- released in 1973 on
"The song remains the same" album.
Think you mean Houses of the Holy
House of the Holy is the album and this and the Song Remains the Same are on it
The live version is on "The song remains the same soundtrack album.
THE 70 DEEZ were soooo sweeeet ,,
Led Zeppelin have a masterly way of building a song up in layers of intensity, I just love it
There best ballad is beautiful only sad thing about this song is when it ends!
I'm 58 years old and always loved led Zepplin and in joyed playing there music on guitar love that like the led Jamel much love brother.
Ten Years Gone is another beautiful song by Led Zep about Robert Plant choosing music over his girl. It’s excellent.
"Upon us all a little rain must fall!"
I could go for some Montrose. I lent my CD of Montrose to a friend and he never gave it back.
I'm 67, I remember hit music from before The Beatles, and I love your channel! Keep the old stuff alive, my friend!
This shit Still blows my fucking mind. Led Zeppelin, Amen.
thanks, man. i finally figured out why i love to watch young black people discover Zeppelin. it's your heritage. black soul and blues interpreted by musically gifted white boys. God bless.
One of Zeppelin's most underrated songs! One of my favorites.
Beautiful ❤️ love love Led Zeppelin ❤️🎶
I have listened to this song a thousand times, I can listen to it a thousand plus more times. It never gets old
Chills everytime. Music for your soul
😁
The most beautiful song to ever caress your ears is right here.
Always loved this song..
Page's and Plant's finest work IMO ✌️♥️
Zep is my fav band... this is one of my fav songs by zep. Just amazing!!!
Robert Plant ~ "Big Log", "Sea Of Love", "In The Mood" and "Heaven Knows" are really good
"Sea Of Love" will Amaze you..!
Big Log and Ship of Fools are amazing.
@@mohamedbazeddi9528 Big Log is one of my favorites by Mr. Plant
Jamel I love Zep, but Big Log is my favorite Non Zep , Led Zeppelin song. Many youngsters dig Big Log because of GTA 5. Dude seriously do Big Log while driving in the Mojave at sunset. It would be epic!
@@mohamedbazeddi9528 Don't know how ''Ship Of Fools" slipped my mind....?
Kinda embarrassing....
Tall Cool One
This song should have gotten way more play
in the Zeppelin library. Beautifully crafted song.
If you can react to more Led Zeppelin, then suggest “In the Light, “No Quarter,” and All My Love.” Also, Jamel, would you react to Budgie? They’re like the Welsh/U.K. Rush. Less well known but just as influential.
Budgie songs:
- Guts (rules hard)
- Parents (LOVE this really special track)
- Breadfan (Metallica covered this)
- In the Grip of the Tyre Fitter’s Hand
Budgie, like fellow trio Rush, has a really diverse and brilliant array of complex arrangements and moods. Also, great song titles like “Nude Disintegrating Parachutist Woman” lol.
