I can't express my thankfulness for you. This was EXACTLY what I needed. I don't know what a repair call or what a new dryer costs, but this was $24 for a heating element and roughly 1.5 hours. Not all heroes wear capes - and you sir...are just that!
@@soccerguy2433 Amazon. The complete unit with the housing and thermostats was $54, I think, but I got that one to save some time breaking it all apart. It came with some spare t-stats, too, which I hopefully won't need, lol, but are nice to have in case.
thanks to this video, it only took me 1 hour to replace the heating assembly! i did have to wait 4 days for the part, but im sure i saved alot of money. Thank you kind sir.
Great video!! The model I have is slightly different, with some differences with mounting screws and such (like having the same engine for a different vehicle model, mounting brackets and such may be different), but you did such a great job explaining it that I just did this job on my own dryer. Took me a little while, as I wanted to make sure I was putting all the screws back into the correct places, and the belt was a little difficult to get back on, but once I figured it out it went right on. Fired it up, and I had heat and the drum spun. Thank you!!
This is outstanding! I have the exact same model dryer, this repair was exactly as you described. Even the issue with no heat was exactly as you showed where the heating coil was broken. Excellent video!! My dryer is now heating properly without having to pay someone to come out to fix it and I was able to clear out any fire hazards in the dryer housing while doing the repair.
Perfect! Exactly what I needed. The heating element was my problem. Thanks also for the links to what I needed to purchase. You made this repair approachable and doable! Clothes are now dry!
Great video. I was able to change the heating element with very few issues. Would probably buy the entire assembly if I had to do it again, as it was a bit of a challenge to get everything lined up, but great directions on the repair. Thanks!
@Kevin, I would buy the entire assembly next time because the sensors/thermistor could be damaged. Although you can use a multimeter to check their ohms, I’d buy the whole assembly. One of the wires had burned, also, so I had to replace that too. I agree Chad. I noticed that the new metal sheet holding the elements was slightly thicker than the original, making it difficult to align the screws.
Thanks for the video! It was helpful to know how to take the whole dryer apart, and it was useful to go back through your video to remember the correct way to route the belt. I went with the element replacement route, and while I had everything apart, replaced the very squeaky tensioner pulley.
Here's another big thank you for your video! It saved me a lot of time and frustration. I have fixed just about everything you can imagine and could have figured it out eventually, but I cannot overstate how useful it is having a tutorial. Great pace and good tips!
You're welcome! I am so Happy to hear My Video Helped you fix Your Samsung Dryer! Thanks for Watching and For the Support, It is Very Much Appreciated!
thank you so much for this video! you were very thorough with your explanations and repeatedly went over the steps. Perfect for those that dont really know what they are doing! You walked this beginner through the whole job. Thank you!!
Thanks for the video! FYI you can save a ton of time because the heating element assembly slides out from underneath the drum. Just remove the three Phillips screws that hold the assembly mount from the front after removing the dryer front panel. Three assembly mount and the whole assembly slide right out through the front. No need to remove the drum for access.
Thanks for the guidance! I just finished to successfully replace the heating element on my dryer and couldn't have done it without your help. I even had the same issue with the top bar thing 😄😄. My major struggle was the band, but I tilted back a bit the dryer so I was standing instead of kneeling and it worked better for me.
Thank you, sir, this all helped, immensely. I had forgot the trick for the belt, when I did my drum rollers a year or two ago, but you went over that really well, too.

Thanks man, ordered the kit and it took me about 90 minutes to do this. A bunch of that time was cleaning the inside of the dryer and cleaning and lubricating the drum wheels. I found flexing the bottom section of the heater tube in helped with the line up at the end. I installed the top piece and stuck my hand inside after getting one screw in, shifted the element around, then did the rest one by one. No issues at all, dryer works perfectly again. Appreciate the video.
This video was a huge help in seeing how to take it apart! I replaced the heating element, put it all back together, drum turned easily by hand but when I ran it, it made a horrible rubbing noise. Took it all back apart and found that I had dislodged a spring clip that holds the motor down (movement at one end pf the motor allowed the blower fan cage to rub on its housing). Bent some tension back into that clup with pliers, reassembled everything and it is running just fine!
great video, hitting upward on the control panel released it without breaking it. I spent 2 hrs trying to remove it but to no avail. I prayed and ask God to help me, which led to your video. Thanks again and I just subscribed to your channel. Blessings Mike
great video, I followed it closely, changed the heating element, the fuse, the thermocouple and the thermostat. I also had to change the pulley as it was stuck and the belt dug a groove on it. But even after all these changes, the dryer still doesn't produce heat....
@@DIYRepairsNow I confirm I get 240V and I replaced the PCB. Still nothing. When I press the "Adjust Time+" and "Temp" together for 7 seconds, I enter the test mode, which properly shows 0 or 1 whether a damp towel touches the sensor or not, and running the dryer in test mode return "OK" and IT DOES HEAT! But in non-test mode, or normal mode, it still does not heat
Hey there, I had this similar dryer Samsung DV42H5200EW/A3 and I took it apart just now to see if the heating coil itself was broke and it was NOT BROKEN. I then use my voltmeter and check all three of the sensors on it. When I do that they all show voltage. Are they all supposed to read "ZERO" if its a good sensor and if it shows some sort of voltage does it mean that its bad? I did check the dryer vent and that looks good, What do you think I should do? I was not able to test with the leads off since I had not seen your video and I had put it back together
your video is very good and instructive, I have a client with the same problem and I don't know how much to charge him for labor, could you give me an idea? Thank you so much
My problem was my breaker was only giving enough voltage on one of the hot legs. Worth checking your dryer outlet and make sure it's working right. If one leg isn't working the drum will spin but the heat won't work.
The belt holds the drum in place does not simply stick hand in and lift up. If your at this part he said to skip to the end he shows us the trick to remove the drum!
Hey ..I got a samsung dv42h5200ep/a3 dryer not heating . Got it from someone .I replaced the fuse because it was bad wen i test with the multi meter it was bad. I connected the wires. Blue top red bottom. Blue top black bottom. Blue bottom black top ..I can't test it because the store room I have don't have 220 plug. Someone want to buy it .but I don't kno it the wires were connected right..or should red wire be ontop and blue bottom
I have the same dryer it dries the clothes but when it gets on cooling cycle it stays on 1 mintier until you turn dryer off yourself any idea what causes that?

$24 dollars? Where the heck did you find a heating element for DV42H5200EP/A3 for that price?

The link for the "thermostat kit" has three thermostats, but for the life of me I only see two in the video, am I missing something?
No! you can replace those two or replace or replace all three
Oh I just click the link and I see what you mean! replace the 2 The extra one is in case your dryer is gas not electric
There’s a lot easier way to get the heating element out without taking out the drum.
Can you enlighten us
I have the same dryer it dries the clothes but when it gets on cooling cycle it stays on 1 mintier until you turn dryer off yourself any idea what causes that?
I changed it! But when i plug it back in it smells like it’s burning should i be worried?
It is Ok if it Smells Like Toast at first, Due to it Being New. I would only worry if it keeps smelling like this after. Thanks for Watching!
What would it cost a professional to do this job?
👍
Buy a LG
