    The casing on aluminum wire ive heard is so thick because it's pretty much direct bury wire.. it can go straight in the ground with no conduit!

    I've been waiting to see this aluminum stripped, was wondering if you were going to even make a video on it.

    Yes, that was super tough wire to strip. But now that's out of the way and on to the good stuff.

    I hate that aluminum crap my yard doesn’t pay me shit for it 25 cents stripped the cheapest thing I can find besides shred and to top it off you can find a whole mile of the crap and it weighs like 3 pounds,this guy on YT said it’s actually an extrusion(and it is) and that’s what they pay. I will continue to clean it up and scrap it out because that’s just how we are.

      .25 cleaned??? They are ripping you off! It's one of the highest grades of AL.

    Should make different size bushings to go in the stripper to hold it centered for the big stuff

    I recently stripped 3/4 inch Al cables with Coppermine 210, which overall went well. Thick Al cables have enough leverage to loosen blade, so I wish blades had flat front faces to more tightly secure locking bolt. They wouldn't fit in similar Bluerock Wl-100. Hole 3/4 inches wide even though manual says hole is 7/8 inches (sic).

    Don't blow off this useful tip. If you have a hole that's too small and one that's too large, make an adapter to use the larger hole. Put in a piece of pipe that fits inside the larger hole to make an adapter to strip a smaller size wire. You can weld on a ring to go around the end of the pipe to prevent it from going all the way in. It will keep the wire centered in the larger hole. You can put the adapter in and take it out on the fly or use a set screw to make it more permanent.. Oh and By the way, there's a thick copper cable wrapped around the pully shaft next to the chain. I can see it spinning when you are stripping the aluminum wire.

      I think the idea about a ring might work. I believe that extra wire is to help get more spacing ?

    • @ProjectShopFl
      @ProjectShopFl  2 години тому

      Thanks for the suggestion, the only issue is it can still walk to the side of the blade because the cup size has not changed. I think it might help on the first set of rollers but will do little for the 2nd set. I think if the rollers were more of a v instead of rounded I'd have less of an issue. I want to make a new feeder plate and when I do I will incorporate inserts and see what happens.

    That's why we heat alu cable before pulling it here. Usually a blower in a tarp around the big boy spool.
    It's a pain.

    If the cables were straight i would say cut the peices the length of the can and lay them flat. Like how you cut that ladder up.

Oh, not to mention the $5000/month you need just to stay in the building. (did i miss anything?)
