I can relate to Carol's car story. Had to bum rides until I finally had a beater car of my own, and then I offered to folks I knew didn't have their own yet. Felt good to be the giver/ granter of rides.

    H/H match update:
    ...
It's week 114 of our favorite classic game show (these episodes originally aired in mid-October 1975), and our stalwart regulars Brett, Charles, and Richard are joined by semi-regular Fannie for a second week in a row! It's rare for a semi-regular to appear on two consecutive weeks, although Fannie did it once before, in episodes 461-470.
Also back is Louisa Moritz, making her third and final week of appearances. She hasn't had a shot at the H/H match yet.
Rounding out the panel is "new kid on the block" Sheldon Leonard. This is his one and only week on Match Game '7x. (Gene didn't give him the traditional new-celebrity welcome, though.)
Well, last week saw a little variety in the H/H matches (Brett and Fannie got to play - and match! - in addition to Richard), but as we start this week, Mr. Dawson has played 20 of the past 25 H/H matches (matching 9 of those 20 times).
Well, let's see which celebs get a shot at the head-to-head match this week!
...We start the week with a brand-new champion, and at first I though he might be a somewhat unconventional contestant in his celebrity choices, because his called on Sheldon first for an audience match suggestion, and then Fannie... and then Richard. He (wisely) chose Sheldon's answer and won the $500.
But then he went the conventional route and chose Richard for the head-to-head match.
    Today's question: "Cole ________"
This sounded like another super-easy H/H match to me. I thought of Cole Porter the second Gene spelled the question, and I truly expected them both to give the same answer. While the music was playing, I did think of cole slaw but wasn't tempted to change my answer.
After Gene spelled the question, Richard wrote something right away. The contestant said all he could think of was Cole Porter. And then Richard promptly revealed his card, and I had to pick my jaw up off the floor. He'd written "slaw"!
(I tend to match Brett and Charles more than Richard. I have no way of knowing, but I suspect that both Brett and CNR would have come up with Cole Porter.)
Here's the updated leader board showing the 11 celebs with at least 3 H/H matches, ranked by accuracy:
    Orson Bean - 100% (4 wins in 4 attempts).
    Gary Burghoff - 83.3% (5 wins in 6 attempts).
TIE: Jo Anne Worley - 75% (3 wins in 4 attempts).
TIE: Joyce Bulifant - 75% (3 wins in 4 attempts).
    Fannie - 52.6% (10 wins in 19 attempts).
    Betty - 46.9% (15 wins in 32 attempts).
    Charles - 45.2% (19 wins in 42 attempts).
Jo Ann Pflug - 44.4% (8 wins in 18 attempts).
    Richard - 39.1% (122 wins in 312 attempts).
    Brett - 38.8% (19 wins in 49 attempts).
    Bert Convy - 33.3% (5 wins in 15 attempts).
*These stats include every head-to-head match from episode 1 through 566, excluding the lost/missing episodes: 31, 32, 33, 311, 312, 313, 324, 325. (As per MatchGameProductions, these episodes "are nowhere to be found and also aren't in the Goodson/Todman Library. Sadly, looks like they are lost forever!")
