I grew up in the 1970s. I was aware of MatchGame but I don't remember watching it. I graduated High School in 1977. I remember watching Hogan's Hereos, Gilligan's Island, Batman, Beverly Hillbillies, Petticoat Junction, Green Acres. They were all on during the after schools time period. I'm glad I found the show on UA-cam. I'm enjoying the show.
I chuckled when Gene asked Esther how everyone gets along on Good Times. Knowing all the arguments on the set about Jimmie Walker’s character. I think John Amos was gone by now over it and she never liked Walker. Watch the Walker and Amos interviews at Emmytvlegends.org.

6:58 Richard was the best, but i don't like that attitude of showing the correct answer after the contestant fail with another star. The contestant must feel terrible. I think at that moments he showed his ego. And this was not a isolated instance. He did it before at least two times.
@@garfield2439 go away you creep Cecilia Lamson you know Brett Somers Fan Club was actually said on Match Game. You don't hate on Gene Rayburn or Fannie Flagg for saying it so back off and stop coming at me. Jerk. Go get a life.
Spelling doesn't count on Match Game, and neither apparently does pronunciation. Dag Hammarskjöld's last name was pronounced Hammer-shuuuuld, not shield. It was a very surprising response coming from Fannie!
There has been several episodes this season where he has disagree, try his best to get Ira to change his mind and still loses. He did win some thou, the other 5 people garlic and Ira buzz but change his mind when Gene, Richard and Patti yelled it says garlic! Stephanie Lively wow you have wonderful research and analytic skills! Nice job! I think Ira has been getting worse and worse with his judging as the show goes on....
@@sdlively27 Gene generally accepted the decision, attempted to explain it, and moved on, which is appropriate and gracious and in keeping with his role as the host. The panelists always had good reason when they DID question a decision. There are only those 2 or 3 times where they (cough, Richard) REALLY kicked up a fuss. The only time I felt a panelist was way the heck out of line in questioning a judge's decision was that time when Richard angrily demanded an exception to the rules because he was so jet-lagged and repeated part of the question on his answer card. He was clearly exhausted and embarrassed, but he handled himself poorly.
Not matching ‘yell’ and ‘holler’ has to be THE most enraging, most stupid, ignorant, idiotic thing so have EVER witness on this show so far! They should have all gotten together and ripped Ira into a hundred pieces, and thrown him out!!!!!! Just my friendly, humble, little opinion. 😇
The puppet looks better than Dawson. And AGAIN , Brett gets involved. Why was anyone afraid to say anything to her??i. It can’t be cause she was so useful to the show, probably cause klugman had something to do w/it. He’s the one to beg them to put her on. What a dope!

CNR! Always went the extra mile for a laugh
And it was usually worth it
I think they should have asked Joe Silver to do the opening in Johnny Olson’s absence. He has a great voice!
That was bern bennett
His voice is dreadful are you serious?
That puppet made for Richard was adorable, I hope he was given a good home!
They have matched "glue" and "cement" in the past. I guess it just depends on what kind of mood Ira is in that day.

The theme of this show brings me right back to the seventies.
That guy spelt it correctly but everyone pronounced it wrongly.
lol.
Do you mean to tell me that he spelt ‘spelled’ as spelt? lol
It was annoying.
Cute puppet Richard
1:40 adorable 😊
Why would they have the Bonus question, blank MEN? When they just had that question? That was for the cop a good looking man.
My Favorite Episode Thanks Bro :)
Gentlemen was great. Merry men
CNR OUTDID HIMSELF 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Roger was adorable!
The show moved back to 3:30 p.m. to make room for daytime reruns of All in the Family.
That's another one of my all-time favorite shows, Stephanie. ✌
Great show funny!
Correct me if I’m wrong, but that did not sound like Johnny Olsen in the opener.
That would be Bern Bennett. Johnny must have been under the weather that taping day, so they got a sub.
FlagDUDE08 vacation?
Is this seriously the first time this week you guys have see this show
Cool Puppet Looks Like Mua!!!
Like you personally?
Wonder why more CBS stars weren't on, like Reiner or Struthers. Was anyone from The Jeffersons ever on ?
Michael Evans from The Jeffersons was on episodes 331-335
Good question.
Louis and Lionel were
Wonder if then 13-year old Jeff Dunham ever saw this episode?
I guess no one picked up on the fact that Esther was hurt by the "fat scale" question.
Fannie too. She was heavier set
She's not that big, (actually she's petite)I don't think she was offended.
Is Fannie alive still our old she ?
She's 76
Joe Silver reminded me of Richard Deacon
Is Joe Silver a DJ?
What did Gene mean when he said to Richard “wait, this is your last day on the show?”
Joking that the puppet would replace him.

When fat Phyllis stepped on the scale it said "Get that steamroller off of me."
How about "One at a time please..."
