You are making some beautiful quilts, Rachel. I agree with the other comments about how well you put your videos together. It's also fabulous that Riley Blake and others see what we see and are sponsoring you. It is very much deserved, Rachel. ❤🎉😊
You show the most beautiful patterns! I’m going to put this one on my list for sure! Your idea of putting a secondary Dresden block in the middle is an exciting thought! Congratulations on the Riley Blake offer! They are lucky to have you on their team!🎉❤
Congratulations on becoming a Riley Blake Maker! You are going to be fantastic; I’m excited to see the projects you’ll come up with! You’ve quickly become one of the few content creators whose videos I start as soon as I see they are posted even if I need to pause and come back later. Your videos are extremely calming in this time of chaos in the US. I appreciate your steady instruction, reassuring demeanor, and cheerful pleasure when a step is concluded. Thank you.
I have a little trick for keeping your seam in the middle, cut a 2” square piece of cardboard and put cross lines corner to corner. Slide the little cardboard between the layers, line the seam with the line and press. They will be pretty much perfectly. I use this when making Dresdens
Rachel, your quilt is beautiful. You are really inspiring both with your quilting and how you put together your video's. I'm looking forward to next weeks one!
Hi Rachel, I have been watching your fantastic videos recently and like your other followers I have been so inspired to sew more. I adore your choice of fabrics especially the new range from Riley Blake. Well done and congratulations on becoming a Riley Blake maker. Thanks for all your hard work making fabulous videos.
I'm a fan but first time making a comment, l love your style of teaching, well, sharing how you approach creating your beautiful crafty items. Congrats on the Moda Fabrics, Riley Blake deal, how exciting , super well done and well deserved. I find you are really easy to watch and l love the way you teach and are super real, down to Earth and can l say geeky 🤓 at times, l so love that, it's truly relatable 😀. I'm super inspired by you, please keep up the great work 🎉❤
Love putting a smaller plate inside the bigger plate. I'm putting a solid color inside of mine and then covering that with a small doily. Oh, and that diamond between the plates is just awesome!!
So many dresden plate tutorials on the web over the years ... but none like this! Love your videos; so enjoyable and technically spot on! Congrats on becoming a Riley Blake Maker! I hope they know what an absolute treasure they have with you. Love Riley Blake Designs fabric by the way so looking forward to seeing what you do with some.
Hi Rachel I purchased the ruler with the pointer and it has arrived. I am pleased to say the point turner has a blunt end as I wanted. Thank you for your good tutorial and advice about the ruler and for replying to my query Diana
I came back to mention this. Sewing that additional seam 1/2” from the first adds very little time and the collection of HSTs will grow quickly enough to use for a project.
Just wanted to tell you that your episodes are wonderfully interesting. You seem so natural and I like that you have very similar taste as mine. Additionally, you do a wonderful job teaching.
Wow, this quilt really is beautiful Rachel. You have my taste in fabrics so of course I love everything you do. You have such a calm and peaceful way of teaching it makes me think I can make anything you show us. Love your videos. Keep up the great work.
Love your channel, Rachel! One tip - when putting your blades together, start your seam about 1/4" down from the shoulder, backstitch, and then continue on down the blade. This eliminates any thread bunching at the shoulders or stray threads sticking out.
Wow, Rachel! That Dresden plate is a beautiful quilt!. Just added another quilt to my list to make.😅 Thanks for the tutorial. I thought it would be much more difficult to make. I love it with a coordinated fabric line. Scrappy ones are beautiful too, but this is really quite stunning. Congratulations on Riley Blake, you deserve it!
Very pretty quilt Rachel. Just a little tip for you. If when joining the blades you start stitching a little way in and reverse stitch, you won’t have to worry about those thread tails showing. ❤
Such a lovely quilt! So glad UA-cam recommended your channel. New subscriber. Now to go back and binge watch previous videos on this foggy morning as I hand quilt. I see you do mixed media and junk journaling. I used to do that before 2020 and this inspires me to get new ideas and pick these art forms back up. Happy sewing👩🌾💙🧵🪡
That is a beautiful design you have made. It has really caught my eye to try it out after I have made simple quilts for practice first. Absolutely stunning project! Good on ya!!!
I so enjoy your videos and this one is not disappointing. I love the quilt and the fabric you used. I have my grandmothers Dresden quilt very similar to yours. She has been gone almost 50 years and I helped her quilt it when I was about 10. It brings such good memories of her and her wit. She was a firecracker. Thanks for those memories. God bless.
Hi lovely, try using some nail polish remover to get rid of sticky residue on your ruler, you might need to freshen it up afterwards with some soapy water to get rid of the acetone smell. Thanks for your videos, I so enjoy watching you, you give me confidence to have a go and lift my spirits x
Gorgeous love the look the snowball corners make. I have made a couple dresden quilts and my next one will have the snowball corners. Beautiful colors.
Your Dresden Plate quilt is just lovely and your fabric choices are beautiful! I've made several Dresden Plate quilts and I really love your variations. I'm currently working on a mini Dresden quilt and would like to try some of your suggestions in the future. Thank you so much for sharing!
Just love this quilt Rachel. I made a larger dresden plate for an oriental quilt I made for myself but was doing quilt as you go and joining the squares later as I only have a small sewing machine throat and a tiny sewing space. This looks small enough to make as a whole quilt so I think I will have a go at this one as I have lots of lilac and pale pink left over fabric in my stash. Love the clear way you explain things at a speed my ancient brain can absorb.
Every time you come on I get a huge smile just knowing how calm and peaceful you will be! Thank you for posting and sharing your pretty things!
Aww thank you so much 💖💖
