No, it doesn’t look how it should and if you think it’s realistic then you’ve never been outside. Looking into windows is pitch black for no reason, because sunlight doesn’t go into buildings. 1:12min hold on, most of the GPU can handle fullscreen window mode better, like the inputdelay. and VSync off, becouse ur gpu has to work more to get the exact 144 fps (sry for my english)

@@Antoine_chedid It bypasses render queues to ensure frames arent skipped. Since you're already pushing as many frames as possible on the lowest latency the GPU can already deliver, it will cause quite the variety of artifacts depending on your system, system integrity, hardware, and even the capabilities of your monitor and how well you have tuned everything overall. It's similar to a GPU miner sending a share after the blockchain has moved onto the next block. It did the work, but you ain't getting paid for it.
when it comes to recoil and FOV, I would like to add that high FOV only lowers recoil for red dot and holographic sights. for any scopes the opposite is true. 50 FOV will have better recoil and less eye relief when full auto spraying through a scoped optic compared to 75 FOV.
you dont have less recoil, it just looks like you do because you have a larger view so it looks like its way smaller, its the same if you look at a mountain miles away when driving, its just because you just have a larger view of what youre looking at. Also this makes people smaller so it doesnt really matter about recoil "control"
@@skiffi7488 the spray pattern is the same but the recoil is perceived as way more due to the zoomed in fov. I'm not gonna argue about this because the answer is simple. Test it out in the hideout, the difference in recoil is insanely obvious, so it's not worth argueing about.
@@skiffi7488 yea but thats the thing. I don't agree the recoil is the same, because my definition of recoil is different then yours. There is multiple things that make up recoil in tarkov , like the initial kick, then how fast your PMC pulls your gun back to center, and then there is the shaking of your entire camera/view as you shoot. That last part of recoil is different depending on fov. If you have low fov the camera shake is gonna be worse compared to high fov. So there is actually a difference in recoil.
@@doctorgonzo7777 No, the camera shake is the exact same. It's just more apparent with a lower FoV, because a small rotation of the camera means things move farther over the screen.
How do you get to see the change on OBS? Cus when I start my stream the brightness is not effected to my viewers, only to myself :D And its quite dark for them. Any way to be able to stream the brightned image like you in ur video?
It's because I was recording with a capture card. If you're using a single PC setup OBS software capture won't be effected by Nvidia control panel brightness etc. The best way for you to adjust brightness for your stream is to add a colour correction/grading filter to your source and turn the gamma up
I’ll definitely try this out, I was never able to find the sweet spot for making things brighter in game, this was a great video. And btw your fps is really high, will you have a video on increasing performance?
@@Dyils I dont know how he gets the fps that high. I have a 5950x with a 3090 GTX, and I can only get up to 150 fps when the stars align. Most open areas I get 100. That's with everything in low, DLS turned on.

just an udpate for people who end up here for new wipe, LOD quality on 2 was actually worse for me. if you go to ground zero, set LOD quality to 2, and look at the bushes from the terragroup building's lobby, they will be all blocky and opaque textures. but if i set it to 4, i can see through the shrubs. id add screenshots but i don't think youtube allows links by default? but go try it out looking at the shrub/bushes on ground zero. it's very apparent.
Omg the antialiasing changed my game so hard. Everything at a distance was jagged so it was impossible to see people. Now it’s only slightly so and I’m sniping scavs like it was nothing. Finally I can get some kills in my group!
An issue I've picked up on is that high control panel contrast results in concussive effects overwhelming your screen more. It becomes surprisingly difficult to see in situations where you're under fire, which you wouldn't realize fiddling with your settings in an offline raid. Darkening effects on your screen too, like bloodshot from low head health or fatigue, render more than half your screen opaque from the overlay
@@davidanson8057 Or the video is trying to mislead new players. Recommending Nvidia Reflex kills performance and causes terrible screen tearing for me. Maybe it's not intentional, but if I followed the videos advice I'd have a huge disadvantage against somebody playing default.
AF should always be on. It makes textures far less muddy (easier to differentiate between green clothing and green leaves) and will literally not even cost a single percent of performance.

High Fov negative: A distorted picture where the sizes and distances of everything are out of whack depending on whether it's at the side or center of the screen.
Vsync tip here: If you can use FreeSync or GSync, go for it. There's no real reason to not use it (unless you want 150 fps if you can get them, over smoothness and no tear). But if you're like me, mid-range to low tier PC from some years ago, and you don't want to Vsync it. Enhanced sync has been doing the trick for me. I have a 768p 60hz monitor. Enhanced Sync used to work well for me a couple of years ago, but since then I've been noticing some "roughness". It's not entirely smooth as it should be anymore. So I stopped using it. But I thought I give it a try and for Tarkov specifically, I have no tear, no noticeable input lag other than the one from low fps, and looks smooth.
Good stuff though the biggest revolution for me was to get away from a cheap TN panel monitor. I figured why shell out for a 2080 if I’m going to push those frames through a crap monitor.
63 fov if you run scopes with eye relief 75 if you run normal sights Colorfulness is crucial Brightness can be increased by increasing gamma which makes it easier to see your enemies. Lower graphics seems to help me for fps/spotting people. Always right hand peek for that tactical advantage
Hey quick question, do u play with object LOD and overall visibility on the lowest even on maps like customs where there’s a lot of trees (due to them looking 2D in the distance)
A tip from me, if you use RTSS and cap your framerate one frame under your monitor's refresh rate you eliminate most imput lag with Vsync on, so nvidia reflex isnt needed and putting your vsync latency mode on ultra with regular vsync on is actually smoother and faster.
@@darkracer1252 Nvidia reflex basically minimizes the amount of frames queued and makes sure the gpu and cpu are working together to minimize delay in rendering those frames, the same can be achieved by putting vsync on ultra which makes it so there are no queue'd frames in the buffer together with limiting it one frame under your refresh rate for minimal input lag with vsync on. I know exactly what Nvidia reflex does, thank you very much.
I'm someone who has a top tier PC so I can enjoy the best visuals. The fact that I have to make Tarkov look horrible to be competitive is a real shame. I'm glad other games like Hunt and Squad force a minimum level of shadows and detail to stop this.
Tarkov has been that 1 game I need to run low FOV cause of all the detail and recoil difference (which I find odd they made it that way). Thanks for the great vid! Helped a lot.
Really wish Tarkov would actually make the visibility better on their end - we're running around maps looking at purple grass just to be able to see people at the moment
I can promise you for a fact that for beginners or casual people 1080p without anti aliasing is gonna be insane advantage bc you are gonna get used to stuff like aliasing and glowing while moving but if you stop and stand still you will see moving targets (the outline pixels) shine and Blink White whats extremly seeable through bushed if you have everything on low
@@jumperkai It's because in an offline raid all the scav AI (pathfinding etc) is being calculated on your CPU whereas in an online raid it is calculated on the server. I only found this out recently as I always wondered why my fps was worse offline (made no sense to me until it was explained). In an offline raid you can almost see the frames dropping as the scav AI is loading in.
Actually offline raids tank your fps more because your pc becomes the server which means it is what’s powering all the AI and map. You will get better performance online.

I'm not telling anyone to use specific settings - im showing you that if you're hurting your eyes trying to see things in this game, you can adjust colour settings/postfx to make it easier for you

@@2Lew I watched the video and understand what you said . It’s not an attack on you or your content . Just my 2 cents. I'm from an era where external graphic changes , i.e. NVIDIA control panel, is considered cheating. Especially gamma changes. I guess if you're just adjusting to see better inside during day raids, then its not bad. But people abuse these for night raids.
Recently the game Rust actually blocked Nvidia color filters because you could change it to see clear at night. It took them years to actually do something about it but games are starting to block these third parts applications from being used in games. Valorant also disable Logitech game hub mouse applications to keep people from using scripts. Tarkov will probably do the same in the future
I am hesitant using these because I'd like a constant setting for my monitor when not playing the game. Is there a way to create a proflle only for EFT?
I dont think they need to do that - the game provides a great immersive experience, but many people chose to play this game competitively and will use display settings to their advantage. If you want to level out the playing field, the option is there for you to do so :)

I have upscaled the resolution of the game higher than the resolution of my monitor It makes a huge difference for me. The antialiasing has more pixels to work with
at 3:15, you show off changing the monitor colors and game. Is there a way to save "loadouts" or hotkeys for specific maps so you dont have to manually adjust every map/game?

Thank you so much for this advice. I am considering purchasing this game and that would really help if I did. I am 70 years old and love to game but my vision is not what it once was. No I just need to decide which option to by. Any suggestions?😊
The most expensive option will give you a vital increase: storage space outside of raids. You will still be able to get to that storage space through in-game means, but it'll be a chore like no other.
Put LOD quality to at least 2.5 unless you want distant characters to be invisible, especially when playing larger maps where players are often spotted miles away
If you have an HDR monitor, you may have already changed the Nvidia color settings. That's where the HD Color checkbox comes into play. On my display I can see just fine at night.

I only change Nvidia settings on interchange and night raids, if you find a balanced postfx similar to mine you'll be able to do the same! Less messing with settings
@@2Lew I wish they’d just improve lighting in general so we wouldn’t need to do stuff like this lol
On CSGO, I played it exclusively with digital vibrance cranked to max haha. Not seeing people in that game was miserable
@@thicc_reap7569 Improved the lightning? Please elaborate..
Darkness is dark in real life, innit?.. There’s nothing to fix.
@@AbdiAktivo ua-cam.com/users/shortsfAPUomPGJbY?feature=share here you go. Also sunlight dispersion doesn’t work, or at least barely works. In this game. Look at the shadows on the side of a building on a sunny day like looking at the rogue camp from the mountains to see what I mean. No, it doesn’t look how it should and if you think it’s realistic then you’ve never been outside. Looking into windows is pitch black for no reason, because sunlight doesn’t go into buildings. If you’ve been in a building with windows without power during they day it is pretty bright because light actually reflects off of things

appreciate you brother!!
1:12min hold on, most of the GPU can handle fullscreen window mode better, like the inputdelay. and VSync off, becouse ur gpu has to work more to get the exact 144 fps (sry for my english)
Before this i was basically a blind woman stumbling through any dark area or night raid, now I can actually see! Tysm.

Hi dude
@@2Lew 2Lew man no way, I love the content man you’re my go to on UA-cam videos ❤️
Loved the video! Any tips on fixing desync? 🙂
Every video like this just ends up making my game burn my eyeballs out. And I play at noon not 1am
You do not want LOD lower than 2.5 if you enjoy using weapons such as the 5-7. The sights don't render properly rendering it useless. You also do not want to use Nvidia Reflex with Vsync turned off.
Why don t you want to use reflex without vsync ?
@@Antoine_chedid It bypasses render queues to ensure frames arent skipped. Since you're already pushing as many frames as possible on the lowest latency the GPU can already deliver, it will cause quite the variety of artifacts depending on your system, system integrity, hardware, and even the capabilities of your monitor and how well you have tuned everything overall.
It's similar to a GPU miner sending a share after the blockchain has moved onto the next block. It did the work, but you ain't getting paid for it.
The one video on graphics settings that actually helped, thankyou
when it comes to recoil and FOV, I would like to add that high FOV only lowers recoil for red dot and holographic sights. for any scopes the opposite is true.
@@doctorgonzo7777 you just repeated what i was saying, im just talking about how you said the recoil is lower because of the higher fov
@@doctorgonzo7777
No, the camera shake is the exact same.
The best way for you to adjust brightness for your stream is to add a colour correction/grading filter to your source and turn the gamma up
@@2Lew ty bro
I’ll definitely try this out, I was never able to find the sweet spot for making things brighter in game, this was a great video. And btw your fps is really high, will you have a video on increasing performance?
Pls
Crank the gamma...
His FPS is high cause he's playing offline.
@@Dyils I dont know how he gets the fps that high. I have a 5950x with a 3090 GTX, and I can only get up to 150 fps when the stars align. Most open areas I get 100. That's with everything in low, DLS turned on.
@@sesanti You're responding to a comment that answers your question. I get the same FPS as him with a 5800X and a 2080 in offline with disabled bots
Also, do yourself a favor and disable DLSS... you have a 3090 and you're playing at low...
just an udpate for people who end up here for new wipe,
LOD quality on 2 was actually worse for me. if you go to ground zero, set LOD quality to 2, and look at the bushes from the terragroup building's lobby, they will be all blocky and opaque textures. but if i set it to 4, i can see through the shrubs. id add screenshots but i don't think youtube allows links by default? but go try it out looking at the shrub/bushes on ground zero. it's very apparent.
thx for the info
Did not think we made all these advancements in graphics so that we could make it look like golden eye 64.
This. What is the point, may as well sell my 3060ti and get a gt710...lol
I guess you're just supposed to not get shot with these settings on, since you can see them more clearly.
Yep. 16x
It's a pity it makes the game look like a poorly compressed jpeg, particularly in dark areas
that's just his personal preffrence. don't mess with the color settings on nvidia control panel. only up gamma by MAX 20% and digital vibrance by MAX 10% and don't touch contrast.
here cause Lew Bears thee homie. always here to support and show the homie some love! love theee content as always lew. keep grinding keep moving papas!❤️
jaaaaaaaamessssssssssssssssss!!!!!!
Negative about low FoV: you can see less around you potentially miss people to left and right.
High Fov negative: A distorted picture where the sizes and distances of everything are out of whack depending on whether it's at the side or center of the screen.
you don't need to see around you. that's what your ears are for.
lower fov means your targets are bigger. (it's basicly zooming in a bit)
There’s a certain love I have for mfs that just wanna help everyone have fun fuckin love you and your work man👏🏽🥰
cheers dud
Good stuff though the biggest revolution for me was to get away from a cheap TN panel monitor. I figured why shell out for a 2080 if I’m going to push those frames through a crap monitor.
Still playing with your most recent postfx with my own few tweaks. Game been running great since and loads of visibility too. Perfect. Thanks.
Yoooo 2Lew! Thanks for this my guy!
cheers brother
63 fov if you run scopes with eye relief
75 if you run normal sights
Colorfulness is crucial
Brightness can be increased by increasing gamma which makes it easier to see your enemies.
Lower graphics seems to help me for fps/spotting people.
Always right hand peek for that tactical advantage
“AA on” “AA off” *looks exactly the same*
Hey quick question, do u play with object LOD and overall visibility on the lowest even on maps like customs where there’s a lot of trees (due to them looking 2D in the distance)
i saw 1 video and fell in love with the content quallity
appreciate you dude
A tip from me, if you use RTSS and cap your framerate one frame under your monitor's refresh rate you eliminate most imput lag with Vsync on, so nvidia reflex isnt needed and putting your vsync latency mode on ultra with regular vsync on is actually smoother and faster.
Can you do the same thing if you’re not using RTSS?
Now i have a g sync ultimate monitor i just use g sync, but honestly if i knew this when i had my old monitor, would of been game changing
@@dini1046 Yep! Any frame limiter will work for this
so you have no idea how nvidia reflex works and just decided to spout some nonsence based on what you THINK it does?
I would put this video up there with pestily’s settings video. Very good and showcases actual change! Thanks for the new vid man!
cheers mate
Really wish Tarkov would actually make the visibility better on their end - we're running around maps looking at purple grass just to be able to see people at the moment
I can promise you for a fact that for beginners or casual people 1080p without anti aliasing is gonna be insane advantage bc you are gonna get used to stuff like aliasing and glowing while moving but if you stop and stand still you will see moving targets (the outline pixels) shine and Blink White whats extremly seeable through bushed if you have everything on low
Remember:
He is using the offline raid mode, so fps are way higher than in normal raids :)
I get better fps in online raids. Off-line tanks my fps for some reason
@@XTC95 thats crazy, how much fps do u have in online and offline raids?
I get like 140-200 fps online and offline 70-90 fps (on factory 180fps)
@@jumperkai It's because in an offline raid all the scav AI (pathfinding etc) is being calculated on your CPU whereas in an online raid it is calculated on the server. I only found this out recently as I always wondered why my fps was worse offline (made no sense to me until it was explained). In an offline raid you can almost see the frames dropping as the scav AI is loading in.
Actually offline raids tank your fps more because your pc becomes the server which means it is what’s powering all the AI and map. You will get better performance online.
it depends on how much AI u use guys, its just that.
i love this for buildings but man, high gamma makes sunny outdoors ridiculously bright
I know it’s a game but I think it destroys the immersion completely . It’s not an competitive game imo and far away from it with the spaghetti net code, and things like this. In my DoDs ESL past we get a specific esl server , with an specific Confic so that everyone has the same chances. In tarkov anyone use stuff like this , seeing in dark locations and even without nvgs at night. Same with sound stuff. I know it’s just a game and it’s about winning but sometimes I wish we could all play on the same conditions…
But still , thx for the content . I simply think I getting to old for such stuff
Literally as competetive as it gets dude you dont just die in tarkov every death is a chance to lose progression that is far more competetive than any other shooter on the market hands down if you can respawn a billion times with no threat to your level or progression they how competetive can a game be all esports games are literally only competetive because of prize value not the game its self
I'm not telling anyone to use specific settings - im showing you that if you're hurting your eyes trying to see things in this game, you can adjust colour settings/postfx to make it easier for you
I agree man. I rather have the game be dark and hard to see instead of all washed out with low video and rendering settings. I play this game for the immersion and “realism”.
@@2Lew I watched the video and understand what you said . It’s not an attack on you or your content . Just my 2 cents.
I got an oldschool esl background where competitive means : equal settings and than the skill wins but that’s not possible for tarkov. To much random stuff (pve, chads /rats , disconnect,) to bad netcode , no balance etc.
@@w.f.productions7501 nah, maybe not more competitive but quite more challenging than most others shooters.
Competitive in what ? Rush to lvl 42? Stash value ? Or pvp?
PvP skill: short barreled sa-58 with 150 recoil vs mp7 with subsonic.
Who will win but which Setup needs more skill to handle … besides of 3th party engagements . 7mm buckshot head eye scavs etc
Just got internet back 2 weeks after moving, I’m really hyped to run some raids tonight. I’ll try out these settings, thanks Lew
geeza
I'm from an era where external graphic changes , i.e. NVIDIA control panel, is considered cheating. Especially gamma changes. I guess if you're just adjusting to see better inside during day raids, then its not bad. But people abuse these for night raids.
Recently the game Rust actually blocked Nvidia color filters because you could change it to see clear at night. It took them years to actually do something about it but games are starting to block these third parts applications from being used in games. Valorant also disable Logitech game hub mouse applications to keep people from using scripts. Tarkov will probably do the same in the future
@@RecKzXP Already has. The postfx ingame were already a response to nvidia’s panel.
I am hesitant using these because I'd like a constant setting for my monitor when not playing the game. Is there a way to create a proflle only for EFT?
You can check ignore options boxs when you are not in EFT
The fact that most of us have to do this is reason for the developers to redesign their lighting and shading.
I dont think they need to do that - the game provides a great immersive experience, but many people chose to play this game competitively and will use display settings to their advantage. If you want to level out the playing field, the option is there for you to do so :)
@@2Lew I am keeping mine as default to keep it as "realistic" as possible, as the developers intended it. I keep PostFX off. Great video though, a few hints to boost my video frame rate to avoid stutter. The best one is simply more RAM.
Phillip.
@@philliptemple4534 maybe they put postfx in there for a reason lol
works a treat, used to use the same sortve settings for CS back in the day with the Nvidia control but never made too much of a difference, makes a huge difference in tarkov though, to anyoone who may stumble across this, 100% worthit with tarkov even though it can be a huge waste of time on other games, also no fret, its super easy to return just the colour changes to default it appears in the top right once change "reset to default"
I disagree with low shadow quality, the shadows on most maps have been optimized enough to have good performance and much better visibility for me at least
Same plus it looks garbage when you run and the shadow renders few steps in front of you
Saving this video and messing around when I get home from work
