the voice alone tells you this guy is one of the nicest people on the planet
2:10 This is absolutely brilliant! I can press a "bleeds" key and the single key bindings sort it all out.
and when your like me! and always forget meds, its still only 1 button before you die! its soo much better.
Nice to see a channel that's more than just raids or stream highlights doing well on YT. Keep up the content Giga!
Thanks, appreciate it! I try to provide value for you all 💪
Didnt expect you here, love the vids Inters3ct. And Gigabeef ofc :))
Thank you for very clearly explaining the ADS hold breath set up. I was surprised how much of a difference it made.
I've got right side blindfire set to my back mouse button so I can use it while moving around. Klean has a great video on how he uses the blindfire to clear some corners safer than regular peeking.
ua-cam.com/video/FSpR_XFfcwQ/v-deo.html
Funny, I just changed that the other day because I remembered Kleans corner peak, and it’s already helped out immensely
That's a good point, forgot about that video! It's a good system, I just find I'm not using it currently. One to add later at some stage, still need to find somewhere I find comfortable to put it
I also do this but I feel like it's going to take a lot more conscious practice before I can use it reliably.
@@user-ml9ew1px8k FYI you made me spend my 10 hours watching this guy. What a guy! Hope you're happy about what you have done
Oh my god. Why have I never unbound blindfire?
This is life-changing.
Haha honestly took me SO long to change to some of these, despite the clear advantages 😂
The hold breath + ADS has been a game changer for me. Also, ended up trying the alternate lean keys and I'm really digging it. I have long fingers that tend to get in each other's way, so binding the opposite sides to lean left/right has been much easier. Thanks for these big brain key bind tips!
Is there a way to do it when I'm using hold RMB to ADS?
i always love getting these uploads in my recommended
Just watched this video. Very happy with the healing press and release buttons. Keep up the great content!
really good vid, short simple straight to the point, clear instructions, thank you
Great video, nothing else to add, just great. Thank you so much.
Fantastic vid, love the notion of the med binds! Surprised you didn't mention binding "change sights" and "change zoom" to the same key, with double press for one of them, though. That is an incredibly useful one.
Glad to see that healing tip made it into a video! Keep producing fantastic content!
I always learn stuff from the community - thanks for sharing that one!
The stop all bleeds key bind is BRILLIANT. I mapped 4 to press 4 and 0 to release 4. This way I can still use 5 since it’s so close to my left hand. Seriously game changing.
The auto hold breath when aiming is also a super smart change. Awesome video!
Nice, thanks!
what happens when you go to heal a heavy bleed and get pushed
@@G1ngerGiant left click, should stop the heal
@@G1ngerGiant Thats no different than if you didnt change your keybind. Do you even understand the video ??
@@Kryzul its just a useless bind imo that does shit even if you dont want to
Solid video as always Beef, the mag drop drives me nuts so I think I too will be unbinding Tac Reload.
Exceptional guide, nice work man
Big ups on swapping Q and E. I've been doing this in other games for years and always wondered if anyone else had thought of it.
Been playing this game for 3 years, and I learned soooo much from this video! Thank you so much!
Appreciate it!
Good stuff! Definitely stealing this!
I put switch tactical mode on a side mouse button so I can quickly flick from laser to blinding a pmc if I get jumped. Put toggle scope zoom on the other side button so I can hop quickly from scanning an area to going for a shot
This was very informative. Thank you!
Some really great tips here and I'll be incorporating a couple into my keybinds at least!
that's a great set of bindings! thank you very much. i have scrambled some tips from this video ;)
Great!
Thanks for the ADS + hold breath binding. Thats so nice to know buddy.
I loved it, learnd alot of helpful stuff. Much appreciated my dude!, ♡
Just started playing recently and these are rad thank youuuuu!
Nearly 3000 hours and I've completely missed rebinding hold breath in the way you've mentioned. Feels like a total game changer!
Haha it's a real good one!
I didn't know about the grenades hotkeys! thanks a lot
That key bind for ADS and hold breath is genius. Thank you.
Nice one, thanks!
hella useful! thanks bud!
I did change my zeroing to mouse scroll while ADSing for sniping. Also great video :)
GENIUS with all of it. the aim is great idea, gotta figure off aswell. but the HEALS! omg thank you! i know this is old video but still! GENIUS!
Awesome work man!
Huge, these are so helpful, thanks
I gotta try the lean binding one. This seems more comfortable for me.
Thanks
Some of these like the medical and hold breath binds are eye opening. I need to re-evaluate all of mine now lol
Haha good to hear!
hold breath - is god like bind. Tnx bro!
Thank you man for your video and your recomendation
the hold breath afteraiming bind was super helpful wouldnt have thought of that! I myself took my melee button completely off since i kept fatfingering it rather die honestly then accidently keep pressing the melee key lol
the bleed bind!!!! Thank you!!!
Great tips. Thanks!
This is kinda game changing! Trying most of these bindings and wow
Good to hear :)
The healing bleed binds blew my mind
Most of key bindings are actually a great idea. Bothered me as well
Man of paid as much attention in highschool as I do on Gigabeef videos I'd be a doctor. Another great one
I wouldn't have thought to bind hold breath and ads together. Definitely going to try that
The tiny gun thing actually surprised me. I did not know that was how that worked
this is gold! thanks!
Good info, gonna make me take a good long look at my binds.
Definitely worth it. I spent probably 30m offline in factory adding and removing stuff, testing things and figuring out what DOESNT work properly eg putting ctrl on press, found that out the hard way 😂
@@Gigabeef haha good point, meanwhile im here being like "oh lord that is such an amazing idea" ~ setting press to aim and release to hold breath
Amazing video! Learned a lot, and that’s even after I’ve messed around with keybinds quite a bit! I personally prefer setting hold breath to press shift and sprint to hold shift, because you can’t hold your breath when moving and you can’t sprint when you aren’t moving, so the binds don’t conflict. I see a lot of people putting what I would consider useless stuff on mouse buttons, like drop items or blind fire instead of what I would consider essential in the moment, like leaning or throwing a nade. My suggestion for this is to use your B, V, C, X, and possibly Z keys if you’re flexible enough with your thumb. This adjustment opens up a ton of quick actions you can do with your thumb when not jumping, which why are you ever jumping so much you can’t free up your thumb? Just my two cents though! Keep up the great videos! Maybe one on headsets soon?😬
Nice tips! Adding the same key for mutually exclusive binds is smart :) what would you want from a headsets video? I have never bothered because the veritas videos are so comprehensive. I'm like 'gssh or razors, have fun' haha
@@Gigabeef Also I like discard to be a modifier. before they added the sorting table it was SHift + left click. But afterwards i switched it to space bar + left click. I find it really handy to just hold down space and then click on stuff to discard.
I use the same for hold breath/sprint. My mouse has 2 thumb buttons and 2 index finger buttons on the side of left click so I have no issues using those for stuff. More specifically discard item (just click on item with thumb button and it's gone), and my middle click is check mag, the two sides of middle mouse also work as buttons so that's my free look and check chamber/clear malfunction. The two buttons on left click are for zeroing +/- but I find myself using that less and less as I am getting more and more use to different setups and rounds.
Thanks for the awesome info
The reverse lean tips is really interesting and can absolutely be applied to other games as well. It's always been an issue for me how cramped it feels trying to move and lean/peek at the same time in any game that supports it. I'll have to give that a try.
u could also put the leaning to just press..instead of holding it
Damn bleed stoppers in the same button is gonna be great.
helped a lot. thank you
Very handy stuff.
Q and E rebing is great. Back in the days of PUBG I saw shroud doing this. Believe me or not it makes a lot of difference!
Thanks! Awesome video, just saw summit1g having two items "4" in his hotbar which got me wondering if there might be something that I miss :D
Guess I did, even tho the "bind multiple items to one hotkey" wasn't for me, I still learned a lot.
Since I also want to reload asap, I unbound the "emergency reload" key.
Thanks! Good contribution to the community
nice tips =) thanks
The aim/hold breath is beast mode. I personally like it on Continuous then Press so I don't have to toggle aim but hey whatever works works
The key remap that most helped me was to use '2' as my lean left button. I use my lean keys with my middle finger, but my fingers could not reach 'Q' happily. If you use middle finger to lean, then your fingers around that are still free to strafe :)
I changed my reload to mouse 4 and fire mode to mouse 5, it just feels way more fluent and its nice having most of your weapon actions bound to the mouse.
Yall wanna get proficient? Get pedals and bind them to left and right lean. Left and right mouse wheel for scope magnification change and to turn on your flashlight or laser. Hold breath and ads on same key ads press, hold breath release.
Thats crazy most of these i did on my own last wipe and told my friends and they thought i was crazy especially with the Q and E lean opposite but once you get use to it. it feels so much better. The bleed one is definitely one im gonna use now too
Control and Space for lean is so awesome...
I use R for tactical reload and Alt+R for regular reload. When you use regular reaload, you have time to press a modifier button, but if you are in a pinch, having R for tactical can be quite handy.
Using alt for regular reload was awkward at first, but it become absolutley natural for me now.
This is to painful for me try this instead u want reload on r continuous and tactical reload on r release this allows u to tap r for fast reload and hold r for slow reload making life alot easier
Thats dumb asf
Thank you SO much for this - brand new Tarkov player here and you have earned a sub from me!
Cheers!
Another good advanced keybind if you do leave E & Q on their regular binds, is ctrl+E and ctrl+q to smooth lean
great stuff in this video. I know a lot of people serious about FPS will get foot peddles for lean and push to talk.
Dont tempt me lol...
I think the tactical reload is very much dependant on gun type but I also think retention reloads could be a bit longer since you need to put the mag back. I think rigs should also affect reload speed. Pretty sure there are rigs that just have a little bag on the side for empty mags to drop in so that you dont have to fumble them back into your rig.
Dump pouches, yep
The heal button you have close but not fully the best way. You can use press, hold and release all on the same button 5 for example. So press key 5 on heavybleed quickly drag across painkiller or healpack and than release button on light bleed. Now you have one key for all healing. Heavy Leeds is always more important so it’s on press and if you have no heavy by default you release the button and it heals the light bleed. And hold to either use a painkiller or a heap pack of your choosing. It’s really great. That’s my fav
Nice ones, I add one more... "Check weapon" on press and "Fix malfunction" on release :)
a lot of shooters with "lean" I've found that flipping the lean buttons helps a lot with ergonomics in manoeuvring my keyboard. R6s squad and Arma are games where I've switched the lean buttons having to "shimmer" my finger off of E holding D is just awkward there was a period where i actually had "analog" lean in Arma 3 simply to free up my keyboard, i had pedals for piloting and learned i could just bind them to my lean buttons, worked quite well. it also added the.. "gradual lean" we also know from tarkov but instead of having to stay stationary i could analog lean whilst being mobile,
I learned playing Rainbowsix siege where leaning is very important to bind my lean buttons to either C and V or V and B since your thumb is usually free in these types of games when engaging in fights. It takes a moment to get used to but I think this is the best setup for have snappy lean movement.
I use Tactical on Mouse 5 (front mouse button) and high/low movement speed toggle on mouse 4. The former bind allows me to manipulate laser/light, check ammo etc a lot easier. The latter just gives me the instant speed-to-silent-to-speed movement without taking my fingers of WASD.
In other games like Squad I usually run firemode on Mouse 4 but I found the movement modifier more important in Tarkov given how powerful sound is.
Yes I find high/low movement on "back" mouse button really good, allows for quickly going silent / un-silent when coming up-to a gunfight or corner etc without moving you hands off the movement keys.
For changing optic zoom, I use mouse 5. No keybinding change has felt amazing as that. It still feels great every time i hit it lol
Is that middle mouse? That's what I use :)
@@Gigabeef Its the "back" side button. It feels like a switch on the side of a gun. Come to think of it, I dont think I am using middle mouse other than for inspect...thats free real estate
I always put lean on C and V, giving you free movement with the fingers and allowing you to use Q and E, two very good key positions, for something more important.
I have the same lean binds C and V since the PUBG days I could never get Q and E for lean to work, and it makes movement so much easier. Also, Q and E are great keys for other stuff.
@@melles123 Ikr, dont understand why its not more populair.
My lean is mouse 4/5. Takes a bit to get used to but use it in all games with lean now. Now it's amazing
Also for the ads/hold breath you don’t need a 2nd bind to not hold breath. You can just hold down RMB and and it will do the same thing effectively
I came up with something just now that allows me to unjam so fast i managed to make my overheated rifle jam three times in a row easy! Space + Scroll Down to inspect and Space + Scroll Up to check chamber (start scrolling down and when the inspect animation starts, then start spam scrolling up until check chamber animation starts). I use space as my all purpose modifier so my reload setup is Space + R for tactical reload, R for normal reload, R + scroll up for next mag, R + scroll down for previous mag, Alt + R to unload mag, and unrelated but Scroll Up for Next, and Scroll Down for Previous (i think this is how walking speed is adjusted as well). With regards to walking, i have Shift for walk, and Shift + Scroll up/down to adjust next/previous walk pose (the idea is holding shift puts you into a walk, but you can go even slower by keeping shift held and scrolling down to lower your stance). Does it all work? Yes xD
After nuking myself when VOGs first got added, I remapped grenade to GG
Also mapped tactical device and device toggle to a thumb button because I don’t like reaching across the keyboard
Remapping lean to the opposite buttons is a great idea though, going to give it a shot
I rebinder ctrl, alt, shift in all combination key binds to side mouse buttons and it was the best decision
The biggest take away for me: Turn stuff off your don't use like 'tactical reloads'. Not at all ever concerned about shaving the smallest of differences in reloading. But picking up or losing those magazines...
i insure them and drop them on purpose
@@markpeterson9808 I guess... but those magazines must be empty.
@@chrisklugh Or... cheap ammo! 7.62x51 M80, 7.62x39 PS, 5.45 BP or even lategame BT, 4.7mm FMJ SX, etc etc, all so cheap that if you got less than 10 rounds left, dumping them out is no big deal
@@vert3432 If that's your play style. Bring in a half a dozen mags of cheap ammo and go blap blap. But its not efficient or economical. Just for the Meme. But have fun doing it!
@@chrisklugh A lot of those cheap ammo's, especially M80 and FMJ SX, are very much meta-level at the moment, 7.62 PS isn't, and neither is 5.45BP, but BT is the "common" round, as is M80, and FMJ is basically MP7's best atm as you cant buy AP on the flea- but they all cost very little
I use 'X Continuous' for inspect weapon, and 'X release' to fix malfunction. This way you can identify and fix the malfunction with 1 click
Omg,freaking genius!
But don't you have to hold the inspect weapon key all the way through the animation?
@@Exicide ya
@@Jordy-kk1kw feels a bit weird considering you're out of action for that long holding the key lol.
I tried it but I think the inspect and then other keybind works better because you can move all you want. (In my case at least, using all my mouse buttons)
@@Exicide I was just running out of keys and didn't want to have one in an unnatural position, I don't often use low durability weapons though so to be honest don't use it much
i like your idea about switching "E" and "Q". they were so uncomfortable for me even in other games, that i binded leans on side mouse buttons. I already got used to other binds for Q and E, but i'll still give it a try. Also i suggest u to try check mag on continues "R", and reload on release. I did it long time after i got used to alt+T, but after first few games it became SO MUCH more comfortable, that i think it should be default
Good vid :)
Only been playing a few days, but one of the first keybinds I changed was to put lean on toggle.
Nice list of tips. I already do the Q and E from playing Squad. Your reason for not using was definitely valid, but have you since changed with the addition of inertia?
I haven't! But corner play is more important now so I might rebind right hand blind fire as there's been a few situations in which I'd quite like to have had it
Usefull, thx.
Struggle with lean and wasd on the same time so i swap Q and E a long time ago. Didnt need a lot of time to get used to it, its great. Also i missclick reload a lot of times when i toggle my laser with t. So i swap T and V (V was fire mode before).
T: switch firemode
Lctr+t: check firemode (i use this a lot)
V: laser on/off
Lctr+v: change tactical device mod
Bound Entf Button (discard) to the mouse button under my mousewheel
My mouse has 3 side buttons, i bound switch scopes like hamr, switch scopes like valday and mag check.
I bound the scope zeroing to "lctr+mousewheel". So you can scoll trough the zeroing. But i never really use it.
I play on a controller. I have the X button (which is usually reload for me in other games) set to Press to reload, hold to check ammo and double press to change fire mode. That seems to work really well for me.
the tactical reload also depends on the kind of firearm. some guns will naturally have shitty fast reload times due to not having bolt hold open systems eg aks
good stuff
I know you've done similar vids, but think a video with a few suggested gun builds from lvl 3 traders would be great around now.
I'll have a think about it! Thanks for the suggestion :)
Bind „fix malfunction“ to L-press and „inspect gun“ to L-release.
Makes it heaps easier to get rid of malfunctions when in fight instead of having to fumble for the shortcuts.
I like emergency reload on shift+R, typically if it is an emergency, i need to be sprinting anyways and it resolves the double click timeout issue.
I use ctrl+r for the fast reload and it's definitely won me some fights
I’ve made my lean my two side mouse buttons. Works great for me. Also..where’s the new podcast episode? Been checking everyday this last week.
Next one should be out today - sorry we had to miss a week! Scheduling finally got the better of us but we're back on track now :)
Now THIS is advanced
I just "hold" R for regular reload and "press" R for fast reload. Works pretty good
one really big key rebind i have done is changing chamber check to tilde. because i am a jumpy player, accidentally opening console in a raid freaks me out. it’s also just a bit less awkward feeling imo
