*Tip 101:* The best and cheapest way to level Strength is by sprinting while overweight. Strength is one of the best skills in the game. Start your raids already overweight by only 0.1 kg; best way to do that is invest in buying a document case and filling it with SAS Drives which you will put into your secure container. If you’re a couple of kilo’s off, fill your backpack with stacks of Buckshot. As you loot, just discard the buckshot, as it’s cheap and weighs a lot. Alternatively, if you’re running a heavy gear setup and going into a high loot map - since SAS Drives weigh a ton and are ~40-60k each, remove a few SAS and just take more buckshot, that way you can discard more buckshot and easier avoid the issue of being extremely overweight.
*Tip 102:* The best way to level Endurance is by doing hatchet runs(Particularly on Interchange, as you can try and rush the two tech. stores ASAP. If you spawn far from there, run around the map hitting the hidden stashes. Don’t worry about dying either, it’s expected - the profit yielded by selling items to dealers covers the cost of meds and more usually. Also a great way to level stress resistance, gain dealer rep. and also learn the maps without the fear of losing lots of ₽)
*Tip 103:* The best way to get the most exp. out of a raid is to not apply heal after raid. Instead, heal in your hideout using: AI-2 kits, bandages, esmarch tourniquets, and single use splints. Do not use any other meds, as they are much more expensive. Yet even going cheap, it may cost slightly more, but it’s roughly ~500 exp. per death. Over 10 deaths, that is enough PMC exp. to count as a highly successful raid.
*Tip 104:* Buy a pistol, get the best/2nd to best ammo for it, stack 2 loaded clips in your secure container, and go in with nothing but that. It’s a low investment, higher chance of death. Especially with the other clips in your secure, you’ve gotta be fast, extra careful, and try to avoid some fights; but every scav/PMC kill you’ve already made a profit and you will move much faster then most players because of this. The bullets should be able to take out most players via headshot, or a few body taps as well. Not only that, but it makes you a better and more aware player overall: You’ll become used to working with little, using every resource you come across to your advantage. It will also allow you to play without much of a gear fear aspect. These IRL skills transfer over to your big boy gear runs.
*Tip 105:* Pack a Golden Star in your secure container each raid. It’s a long lasting painkiller, but also spendy.. so if you’re not rich, just carry it around for the added bonus of giving you +5/+5, energy/hydration over 5 seconds with each application. This item has personally saved me countless times from starving or becoming dehydrated which I only use it for this purpose if I’m early in the wipe and low on consistent ₽ income.
*Tip 106:* Do Scav runs in Reserve to acquire the most profit. For several reasons: It’s packed to the brim with high end loot. Also for this reason, your chance of coming across piles of dead PMC’s with end game loot is much higher. The map is the smallest consistent high end loot map, so it’s more likely to find bodies of PMC’s then others. And there’s also a ton of Scavs already on the map too, which will draw aggro towards PMC’s and (slightly) discourage player Scavs from killing you (don’t count on it much however, this reason is very situational)
*Tip 107:* Don’t sprint everywhere if you don’t know the maps well. Sprinting during a firefight is in some ways technically safer then doing so when not, considering the enemy already knows where you’re at and there’s a good chance you know too, are avoiding shots, etc... Sprinting audible surface noise goes from loudest - quietest: metal, wood, puddles, glass, concrete, bushes, gravel/sand, and grass. Try using grass routes when sprinting over all of them, because the difference is massive to the next lowest sound audible/gravel/sand - however, I avoid metal, wood, and puddles at all costs unless I absolutely have to/am quite sure there is no danger present.. even if, be prepared to lure murderers after you’ve done so, get to a safe spot and just stay still for a hot minute in a spot with good cover, on the defense. “Sprinting and gambling” is one of, if not *thee*, most likely way to die without firing a single shot in EFT.
*Tip 108:* Only sell SSD drives to Fence for highest profit, even more so then flea market.
*Tip 109:* Bullet drop in Tarkov is much more brutal then almost any other shooter. The spread is nasty too. Remember, the ‘dot’ on your sights is only an estimation. An estimation which should be taken into account which gun type you’re using. And further broken down into which exact gun you’re using. Practice fully kitted guns you’ve never used in Offline mode first to avoid a huge disappointment. It will actually end up saving you time in the long run.
*Tip 110:* Never, ever ever *ever* try and fight anybody that is manning a mounted machine gun and they already have you in their sights; or, if you took a few shots at them and they missed. Take cover *immediately.* 1 round of those will instantly kill anybody at all upon impact, even with the highest armor/helmet.. it will still delete anything once it hits.
*Tip 111:* Pack an injector in your secure container for added safety. There’s 15 different kinds, I suggest reading up on them and use the one that best suits you - they cover a multitude of situations. I usually just put a Zagustin in my rig, as it’s only ~15-20k, so it’s not a huge loss; I use it for the purpose of instantly removing all bleeds and preventing new bloods for 1.40 mins - very effective in firefights, has saved me numerous times. I keep a Regenerative eTG in secure however, as it’s about 40k, and gives a massive boost to fighting against more then 1 player at a time, and I use it when I’ve already taken a lot damage, but also have a foreseeable chance of winning. It soaks down your hydration/energy once the negative effects kick in, but the Golden Star renews that for me; which I apply when they effects wear off.
*Tip 112:* Do the quests! They’re meant to teach you the game just as much as they reward you highly by the time you hit level 30. You’ll be able to purchase end game loot for something like 50% off in most cases, and each death becomes less and less of a worry. When you level your Hideout as well, you’ll be making a sustainable income which also contributes towards less impact from dying as well.
*Tip 113:* The hideout is never really there to just hand you ₽ for nothing until much, much later on (Bitcoin farm level 3). It’s more so used for XP bonuses towards skills later on. However, knowing which items to craft in it bought off the flea market that yield any profit whatsoever should be made anytime you get the chance. As it’s important to level up your crafting/hideout management for later on. Even with the Bitcoin farm, that pretty much alone just covers the cost of Air Filters each day along with *maybe* 1 - 1/2 of a full gear load out. Instead, you’ll be granted the alternative when finding items during a raid to combine/collect certain items to put together to yield a larger profit. Also, it’s beneficial as the items it yields via crafting are considered ‘found in raid.’ Try to always be crafting something to level it up. Salewa materials can be bought from Therapist and sold on the flea to pretty much break even - however, they can be handy for raids as well; but mostly, you’ll be crafting those to gain a huge chunk of that XP overtime.
*Final and biggest tip:* No weapon/armor in this game is *EVER* 100% yours. You’re going to lose it someday, and that’s what it’s there for - to contribute to the games economy. It’s a baseline factor, and applies to all degree of player, whether it be a Godlike gamer, or the noobiest of noob.
*Do everything in your power to erase gear fear:* Insure your load outs. Learn the maps offline mode/hatchet/pistol runs - learn multiple routes for each destination. Turn your volume lower, but still high enough to hear everything; as to not get startled as best as humanly possible when being shot randomly out of nowhere. But still be able to hear everything with ease. It gets better as time goes on and you level your dealers/hideout more.
Have fun, and always try to see the bright side in dying!! Learning in this game is going to always yield the most success. This game teaches, enlightens, and strictly focuses on the aspect: *Through failure, comes learning.* In the sense(example): Maybe you saw a dead body outside of a building, heard gunshots indoors from that direction, and have a great suspicion somebody is in there. You go in there, with no other implications that somebody is there, just a few hints. You end up dying. You should pat yourself on the back, because even though he killed you - you were right, he was in there. It’s the small things in this game that will ultimately build up to the bigger picture. And I absolutely promise you, once you get the grasp to mastering this game - you’ll excel at almost any other game fast paced shooter you’ll ever cross paths with. Because not even the most dedicated pros are invincible here.. and for this reason, not 1 single person has *ever* Escaped From Tarkov.

I'd say a painful tip I learned the hard way is if you're running against the clock to extract but know you won't make it before the raid ends, drop any insured items at the last minute as they will NOT be picked up by whoever you insured them with if they're on your person when the raid ends (and you don't make it out before the timer hits 0) and will be lost completely otherwise.

Google Tarkov Sherpa Hub, they usually have updated maps with squares so you can estimate the shot distance. Use the range finder in the lower left corner of a PSO sight in order to measure range. Do note, that the default round for the particular gun is used for the range. Compare your currently used round with the default round in terms of velocity to gauge if you should aim higher or lower. Use tracer ammunition to practice.

Hey Pestily! (and editors!) For the longest time while playing Tarkov I've been unable to figure out what the particular gun sounds I hear off in the distance are. Many online videos only feature the sounds of weapons as you are holding them, but their sound signature changes quite a bit as you hear them farther off. I'd absolutely adore a guide on these as I always feel unable to figure out exactly what the weapons are in my surroundings. It's not something that's easy to test by myself and I'm sure that unlike the nightmare of balance changes each patch, this is the kind of video we could look back on for years!

Thank you very much on the advices. Especially in the beginning, these are crucial. Two of those, players can't stress enough, again especially in the beginning and for those not too good in FPS games.
    1. Learn both some key commands and the maps, especially the maps and exits.
    2. Watch food and water at least once per raid and don't be too sparse with drinking/eating. Once you are down to 30/40% Eat, drink up to 100%. a) food and water is not hard to come by. b) in case you get shot, you got that bit longer before you die.
