Mine started leaking now. I’m bouta to change mine out. Just hoping no pieces broken off in the engine. Would I know if the did before I took the part off ?
Yes it has an o-ring I believe. It’s better to replace it new. That vacuum pump is notoriously for going bad. Make sure you lineup correctly with the camshaft
@@antonioaguirre6166 ok thanks! I recently saw a video that the timing can possible be out which causes the engine to not start and have to be times because maybe if pieces have broke off it stop the cam shaft from turning. So I’m going to take the valve cover off to makes sure the timing is good
it could, if the coupling brake off inside the engine it will get caught up in b between the camshaft. remove your valve cover and inspect the camshaft and make sure there's no engine damage.
the brake booster does not work with air, it works with vacuum witch is negative pressure. there is a brake switch on the brake pedal did you disconnect it?
@@antonioaguirre6166 hello, thanks for the video. Very informative.. My issue is the same as Adamvlogz. My booster shattered while driving and brakes went hard. Drove home very slowly. Turned the car off and tried to start it again but won't start. Took out the pump and waiting for a new one. I'll put it in but still have a hard brake pedal.. Should the car start with a new pump and will the brake become soft again? Appreciate your help
I'm not sure why your car is not starting, the car I worked on was starting, it had a hard pedal but would start. so, I'm sure you have another problem. the vacuum pump comes apart inside the engine and if the coupler get wedge in between the camshaft, it will lock the engine for sure.
I did not get one. the customer brough me her own part. I think she got from the internet, I will not recommend to buy parts of the internet specially something that has to do with your brakes
Just did this to a 2017 Cruze. This system is clearly junk from GM poor manufacturing. Pieces from the pump went under the valve cover. Broke two injectors at $220. Thé job went from $600 to $1500 and GM came good for nothing. Advice: Do NOT buy a GM POS product.
it is indeed a bad designed. there's no other way to solve this problem since they are making these engines force induction. unfortunately, every car manufacture is adopting this system too, but gm seems to have the worst of them.
Thank You Bro...Betting 10-1 that's what's wrong with my car.

Normally they brake in the inside but not inside the engine.
It’s only a short shaft that splines into the camshaft
Ok thanks for that info, Mine is leaking that just mean my seal has become bad I’m assuming ?

Somebody help me my car sounds just like this and it’s a code for a brake booster but idk if that’s gonna fix it
this is very common failure on these vehicles, if you don't know much about vehicles, I will suggest taking it to a shop to get it diagnose or fix,
Will it stop the engine from cranking

remove your valve cover and inspect the camshaft and make sure there's no engine damage.
Does it affect the Auto stop system?
It should not. It only affects the ability to stop by making the brake pedal hard.
Why do I hear ticking after i installed the part?
what's there any broken pieces inside the engine? if so, it could have damage one of the cam lopes. or a lifter
Ticking went away after driving around the block. Thinking maybe it had to get a little oil through it.
I changed the brake booster but I have no air in my brakes to start the car. what is a resolution to start the car?
