these five videos give a great lesson on how to build an engine from the beginning, thank you, very useful to me. It would be awesome if they make another series of videos on how to build the Suzuki´s transmission and attach this to the motor.

I am assuming you are referring to a standard transmission. We considered doing a video on the transmission rebuild but opted to do written instructions with full color pictures in each step. That sounds like a very legitimate reason. Good to know. I've never built an engine with more than one cylinder. Thank you for the tip. Your videos are very helpful. I'm working on the trans right now. Will be disassembling the engine in a a few wknds. Thank you for the reply.

I am glad that you didn't try to use the OLD head bolts, I have seen mechanics do that. :O
Was it really necessary to torque gradually the head bolts? I have seen where some manufacturers suggest torquing just the once to the max allowed.

i have heared people that bring the 1.3l block to 1.6 and couple the engine with the gearbox of the 1.0l engine
why is assembly lube used on the cylinder head bolt threads?

It helps the bolts reach CONSISTENT torque specs. Lube helps the bolts not Gaul up the thread and get stuck somewhat down the hole. TTY bolts need to be preloaded correctly to seal the head properly. They will stretch under load, and there is a possibility of blowing a gasket if they are not correctly stretched.

and do you know why my engine rews up alot when i put my lights on? park lights or drive lights, the engine keep going wild.

+Kjell kødd Yes, there is a vacuum operated idle-up system that is controlled by the computer. It is designed to increase idle speed when certain conditions exist. One of those conditions is when you turn on the lights. If this Idle-up system is increasing engine speed too high it can be adjusted. This adjustment is on the back of the carburetor. It is a bolt with a spring around it and it has a 12mm head on it. Decrease the idle-up speed by turning this bolt clockwise. Hope this helps.

I have a problem: Oil gets in my radiator, but no water in the oil found, also the oil looks normal. What could it be? I've got an 1988 Samurai 1.3 japanese model
+Meister Raul With out tearing down the engine it would be difficult to trouble shoot. But my best guess would be a bad head gasket. The engine oil is under greater pressure (about 30psi) than the cooling system (less than 15psi) there for oil pressure wins and the oil is going into the cooling system. There is an oil passage between the block and the head (at the front of the engine) that is sealed by the head gasket. I am betting that is where your problem is. If, when you pull the head and the gasket looks good at that location there is probably a crack in the head or block allowing oil to pass from the oil system to the cooling system. See Circle below. What are the thoughts on using a head gasket sealer?
I am asking because I purchased this gasket and it failed on me prematurely; Low Rage Off Road was great and sent me a replacement gasket! There is a low spot on my block reading -0.003" off (spec is 0.002") on the front corner outer wall and I am just terrified of the gasket failing again.
I checked with our engine builder William and he said, "
Tell him if he is using a KP head gasket it should be ok . If using an any other brand head gasket, throw it away and get a KP" Thanks for watching and commenting.

Why assembly lube on the headbolts instead of threadlok?
+blazvignater Because we have not had any problems with the head bolts backing out, we have not felt a need to apply threadlocker. Applying lube to the threads will result in less friction and a more accurate torque on the bolt resulting in better, more even clamping between the head and the block. Additionally, I spoke with our machine shop and they agree that lubing the threads is a good idea. Thanks for watching and commenting.

+Tuentin Qarantino Thanks for the question. There is no gasket sealer of any kind necessary with the head gasket that we supply for the 1.3L Samurai engine. But, of course it is always good to follow the gasket manufactures recommendation as to, if when and what kind of gasket sealer should be used with the various gasket applications. I brought a suzuki baleno last week 1.6L but the head gasket is blown. So i tried to replace it myself but got a problem with a timing belt, kind of hard to access there... so i decided to bring the car to someone who understand. So this video was very usefull for me. And i know a suzuki samurai swift and baleno is almost the same engines.

please do not use this gasket in the video use a MLS gasket or multilayer gasket.
