11kt crosswind, landed like butter. That's true professionalism.
Retired airline, age 77. Cut my teeth flyimg night airmail in Beech 18’s through the mountains. Throughly enjoy your videos.
Wow, night air mail that sounds scary. I’m assuming it wasn’t a big advanced aircraft loaded with avionics I saw a video of someone flying to DC three, and they were saying that their father used to fly these things at night through the weather with passengers with very basic, basic instrumentation, of course no GPS I don’t even know if they had VOR’s, but it just seems so scary. I’ve flown Payson and Flagstaff back to Phoenix at night once or twice single engine land and even that was a little bit unnerving that was in a diamond star D4 with a G 1000 so I had everything I needed but wow it was so dark. Even though it was VFR it was the blackest black I think I’ve ever seen.
You are definitely a pilot’s pilot! Thanks for letting us live vicariously!
Hi
I have watched most of your videos during last few months and today is the big day.
I have reached to the latest. I am not a pilot, a 68 urea Rs old man from Pakistan who always dreamed to fly.
You have helped me to learn a great deal from your videos.
Thank you.
Safe flights.
Good morning from Minnesota USA! Great episode!
Love the coffee table book. It arrived 3 weeks ago. Cheers from Winnipeg.
Great to hear it
Ryan, killer video as always. I think a good video idea would be a indepth cockpit control and go over what each button, lever, etc does so us non aviation folks can follow along with your movements. I think a lot of folks might enjoy that!
I cover that all in my Kodiak sim course in great detail if your interested, it's on sale right now. kodiak-training.teachable.com/p/kodiak-simulator-training?coupon_code=FEB24&product_id=3434838
Hey Ryan I flew from mount hagen to Nadzab last year in a king air! I was copilot but I remember our flight plan vaguely and we flew from there thru the valley over gusap and on to nadzab! It was amazing!
Terrific as always. Has cheered me up after the unexpected death of the wife of a very dear friend who attends the online Church for which my wife is lead minister. Our congregation comprises people from the villages west of Cambridge UK most of whom would not otherwise be able to get to Church. You and your family remain in my thoughts and prayers. Your flying is a brilliant mixture of appropriate care and caution combined with real flair and panache. So enjoyable to fly along with you especially because after years of being flown all over the place to train teachers the air at cabin altitude in an airliner is too thin so my flying days are done. Thank you so much Ryan. God bless you and keep you safe.
Vaccination?
I'm sorry to hear of your loss 😔
Ryan....I really enjoy your videos. I remember when you were just learning to fly. Chelsea and her mom and dad were active in our church in Eldorado. We've lost contact with them and hope all is well! Let me know how I can contribute $. God Bless. Tell Chelsea hi from Kevin and Kathy. Thanks for your videos!!
That's great to hear from you, I do remember you guys. Yes Chelsea's parents are down in Texas and doing well. If you would like to help out with the ministry you can check out this link. ethnos360.org/missionaries/ryan-and-chelsea-farran
Hi Ryan I'm a big fan I've been watching your videos and it really inspired me 🙏
Thanks for another great flight!🙏
2:40 Tower: "...make a *left* turn..." Our hero turns right. 🙂
Think you'll find the left turn instruction refers to the inital turn after getting airborne for a departure via the Kuli Gap.
Yes the make left turn instruction refers to after airborne!! Not on the ground now….🤦♂️
Ryan,
Great to see & hear your flight from Hagen to Goroka. Brings back good memories of my flight training at Hagen. Thanks for the ride Ryan, stay safe. ( your flying in some of the most beautiful valleys, God's country I call it.)😊
Great video! I like seeing your decision making in flight, and how you always have multiple options! These are great to watch as an aspiring pilot!
Love watching every video what an amazing pilot, so control calm and relax to handle every situation. God bless you. Thank you so very much being a great pilot for the remote area.
I was in PNG it has the most great lightening storms amazing covers very much of sky with spectacular lightening displays
Thanks again Ryan. I keep listening on HF and I appreciate you are 8 to 9 hours in front of the UK.... one day when conditions are right. :-)
Parking 💯 🛩 🛬 everything, 100% ... 🎉
Loved the concept of the least thought because it's Friday :-)
16:44 great flight again Ryan. Keep up the great work!
Thanks....
Keep rolling and stay safe!
Have a gin and juice at the Bird Of Paradise hotel for me.
Another fantastic flight!
Enjoyed you video and it’s content. So glad than I ran across your channel. Greetings from a CFI in Las Vegas, NV.
Thanks for watching!
16:08 'a one way strip'. Wow. Surely you have access to the larger runway in the middle if you absolutely had to? The one you never seem to use?? lol. Many thanks
Landings are performed on runways 35L and 35R and take offs from runways 17L and 17R regardless of the wind conditions - a one way strip. I imagine it's due to the terrain to the north of the airstrip precluding landings from that direction. Ryan mostly uses 35R of choice as it is closer to the Ethnos facillity and he has the aircraft and flying skills to use it.
Excellent feedback. Thank-you@@stevekirk8546
Loved the flight Ryan, been on that route a few times in years past…….regards Roger
😊great job once again!
Excellent as always!
Thank you!
with what's has happened WSW of Mount Hagen you stay safe!
thanks for your concern. All good here
Say hi to my cousin Chris B-A .. legend. Hi from G.
Stay safe, old bean
Nice vid. Great talkover. Very informative to laymen. Thx !
Thanks Ryan ✔💯🇵🇬
likes here done very good ty Ryan :)
hy, I made this bush trip on MFS20 with Grand Caravan great
At about 11 minutes the sky looked quite grim, Ryan.
That's the wonderful thing Ryan's taught us about the Wahgi Valley - it's quite wide so it's very often possible to get under or round the weather - amazingly even in my simulator. The Watabung Gap is so often clear as well when conditions look dubious. This is a great channel.
I wish i could fly there. You sh look ukd have a 1st po too with pax
landing with a tailwind --- hey, it's only rubber!
Nice video, as usual. Why you prefer to’ use the mooving map insted of the north up map ? Is not easier the north up map ?
Why is it a one way strip? It looks like it's clear the other way.
Would your kitfox work for you in Papua New Guinea .I mean would you fine it useful?
Hi Ryan,
Long time viewer of the channel and thanks to the videos wishing to, become a bush pilot one day. I am fascinated with your job, the lifeline you provide for small communities and the scenery.
Very random, but i know the aviation community is like a big family; do you happen to know anyone in Aus that might be willing to take on a year 11 work experience boy during a school holidays?
Very random sorry and probably not, but doesn't do any harm asking.
Thanks :)
I actually don't know anyone, sorry
@@MissionaryBushPilot all good :)
Keep making good content!
Hi Ryan. What is the program on your iPad? Fore flight or other?
Hey Ryan what class medical are you required to have over there?are they stricter than USA for example do they pass a medical if you use corrective lenses and blood pressure medication? Or does the mission organization say it is a no no ?
Why not Lockheed Martin P3D?
LOL, Goroka ATC wind forecast "East to Westerly" Doesn't sound helpful but I guess you know what he means. 🙂
Wind is variable would be another way of putting it.
Ryan what watch do you wear?
It's a Ginault watch
U have kodiak exact ???? T you
I noticed that your map has the border between Papua and New Guinea. That’s OLD!
I’m a 3000 hr general aviation pilot 82 years. I enjoy your videos. However I believe views on UA-cam would markedly increase if you showed more ground action before and after your flights. Ground action very perfunctory in a very interesting area of the world.
I would love to, but usually too busy to add it all in.
why is the plane bouncing around in the field of view? aren't the cameras fixed to the plane?
Turbulence
@@MissionaryBushPilot of course, turbulence, but the cameras are FIXED to the plane, so the plane should be FIXED in the field of view.
what am i missing?
Flexing of the wings relative the fuselage?@@victorfinberg8595
