The timing is personal on this one
keep going man dont lose it im with you
Relatable.
Yeah. Yes it is.
Always seems to be, bro is calling us out
Relate.
My car broke down 700 miles away from my house so I decided to watch your video and it did NOT have instructions on how to change a water pump and thermostat
Hope you get home safe
Lol
just cum in the oil dipstick spout you should have it running in no time!
I've had similar experiences with UA-cam misunderstanding what I'm looking for with my search quires, hope you got home safe.
I made it home boys! Thanks :)
“The one thing you can't take away from me is the way I choose to respond to what you do to me.” - Frankl
Then why can you get people to admit things they didn’t do under torture?
Frankl was an avid reader of Nietzsche and that shows in his own way of thinking and writing.
@@daikucoffee5316 because that's how people choose to respond?
@@d.sfilms7677 But that’s the worst way to respond if you could think rationally in the moment. I have lots of respect for Frankl‘s story of never losing hope in the most depressing of circumstances, but in the end it wasn’t his choice to respond in the first place. He himself writes how the inital shock of being admitted slowly turned into a routine. Hardly a choses response.
@@daikucoffee5316 I suppose we don't always make the best decisions, but Victor Frankl has probably helped people realise that they can?
One must imagine sisyphus not lost
55
one must imagine sisyphus's balls sweaty
So that one might find Sisyphus found, thank you sifu
damn I am posting it
One must imagine sisyphus not having a goddamn social anxiety
I lost my job recently and honestly the biggest problem is less the financial pressure and more how damn aimless I feel.
I've been unemployed for many years. I find self motivation with even the most basic things that help a great deal.
@@funguy894 Been unemployed for two years, still don't know how to cope. I try to, but everything feels so... temporary.
That was me up until a month ago. Made the naive decision to go to art school, was unemployed (“self employed”) but there were restrictions and inconsistent gigs so gave up on doing it full time, did some jobs on the side but was either abused by employers so I left or the work wasn’t fulfilling so I dropped it. Then comes 2022 with all the AI art bs and I was severely depressed, it felt like I lost everything and my life no longer had meaning because now the art market would be even more saturated than it was before. Now I’m finally in a job I enjoy, literally told my boss to pile me up with more work because it’s been doing wonders for my self esteem. Still very depressed and existential but it does help with the financial security fears atleast
@@islanddryad I manage people farms. It's very hard for a white man in S.Africa to find work nowadays. I'm lucky to have enough to survive. And I'm lucky to be very far away from people.
@@funguy894 I think I really miss having this time limit.
I can spend hours and hours on job searching and there's no clear moment when to start or stop but any time I don't I feel somewhat guilty. I feel I end up having less time to the things I want to do too.
I have a very flexible life, so often I do feel lost and lazy. But this morning, I got up, made some coffee, and worked on my sci-fi novel I've been writing. I could have done some remote projects to earn money or smoked some weed and done nothing with my morning, but in either circumstance, that anxious feeling of being lost would return and tear me apart. When I work on my novel, I feel like I am where I should be, both instinctually as I love writing, and traditionally as I see writing as a longstanding craft and spiritual calling. When I write or create, time disappears and I find myself within a blissful eternity of my own choosing. So to put a long story short, I have found meaning in creation, and no matter what job or situation I find myself in, I'll always be happy if I'm able to write.
I feel so seen! I get you completely on this
Awesome comment! This is so cool (and well written)
Me but music
There's no such thing as nihilism.
Only loneliness, and dissatisfaction with the present.
That's an interesting perspective.
Saying you're nihilist is just an excuse, a justification because you feel lonely and dissatisfied with the present (as you said) and having a word for it makes you feel like part of something.
nihilism and non-nihilism are equally real and all evidence of both of them will be equally lost to black holes eventually.
The 4 Noble Truths
The existence of suffering
The origin of suffering
The cessation of suffering
The path to the cessation of suffering
Sounds like a cheap pseudo-intellectual quote to be honest, nihilism comes in many forms, you are only right if you refer to the angsty teenage feeling of "there is no meaning therefore I hate everything".
Alienation is one of my most commonly felt experiences. I never feel lost or meaningless, but I often feel a strong sense of solitude that is only reinforced by time spent with people in general.
I listened to the audiobook of Man's Search For Meaning and deeply appreciated Frankl taking time to talk about unemployment. I was unemployed at the time and I felt like he was speaking about my experience; it really is amazing how laboring not having a job can be, when you have everyone constantly either scolding you for not work, guilting you into doing work for them since "you don't have anything better to do", and judging the work you are trying to do.
we are here for a very short time so why waste it in alienation? hits deep especially in today's world where finding true meaning feels more difficult than ever. Thanks Sisyphus for another great video
Lost right now and I don't know what to feel about it. But lately I've been pondering on really deep concepts and I don't know what else to do with them.
drink coffee with them
same but we ought to think things will fall into place if we pay attention or that we just aren't going to understand and it's fine
Find a hobby
Sometimes i listen to your videos while i smoke, i only smoke at night so the dark tone to the videos help me with thinking.
A man with no destination is never lost
you’d videos give me a sense of hope in life sometimes. i really appreciate that
This calmed my anxiety! Even if that state just lasts for a bit... I thank you very much!
Last semester, I wrote a homework assignment about Hartmut Rosa and his concepts for my sociology class. I got completely sucked in by the ideas and try to apply them to my life now as well!
So happy that you are covering them as well^^
Your videos helped me a lot, thank you :)
I'm guessing you are younger than I. But I fully respect and admire your quest to understand the self. I find myself drawn to your content and I'm a grumpy old bastard.
Man, your videos always find me at the perfect time.
I needed this. Thank you. I am going to look at your sources and learn from them :)
Oh yeah , I need this & it came just on time. 😇
Your videos are the best summaries of the topics at hand I've ever heard
LOVE YOUR WORK KEEP IT UP SOLIDER
Perfect timing. Finished his book Will to Meaning recently and have been thinking about this today.
Right to the feelings. I started actually crying
What did you cry about?
Every post is a banger with this guy I can’t believe my eyes
Never thought I'd see the Sisyphus 55 Not Just Bikes multiverse collide
If there was anyone I would listen to for rest of my life. Not just because his voice is just calming, his thoughts and ideas just connect with people in such a deep level.
Recently read From death camp to existentialism, great work.
Love seeing more folks touch on Vervaeke's work.
damn Sisyphus you are always there when I need you....
The timing of this video (and previous ones) is VERY personal.
Man honestly I just love the art style 😂
As always: insightful
I hope you do a video on WIttgensteins idea of language games, i think popularity endangering polysemy is an idea that affects all of our current discursive practices and would be cool to see your take on it. great content dude, i've learned so much from you.
How is your timing always on point wtf
There's an important distinction between _living_ and _subsisting._ 'S of late, it feels more and more like day-to-day life has become day-to-day subsistence.
Literally saved me from a mental breakdown, thank you for the reminder.
You posted this at the perfect time, matter of fact, any point in the last 30 years was the perfect time. Holding on by a thread bro, she ruined me 😪
thanks a lot for the timing
Needed this today
Having a new sisyphus 55 video posted is what can satisfy me, that's all.
Im 14 turning 15 and I've felt lost in 2 years now I have no idea what I can do to change the world in any good way. The feeling of losing time and not accomplishing things are harmful. I am not sure but I'll do what others tell me and wants me to do until I find my purpose. Don't be like me do better and think how you could make everything better for the future, others around you and yourself. Work for the hopes of helping people in some kind of way no matter who they are ❤
You say "don't be like me" as if you are some old geezer on their death bed, but you very much are not. This is advice YOU should be taking.
As someone who is somewhere between the ages of 13 and 17, I have felt the same. But remember- *you still have time.* There's no shame in feeling like everything is wasted, but your life is so far from over. Live well friend.
needed this
“When people cant find meaning in their lives, they distract themselves with pleasure “
one of my favourite quotes from Frankl
Shoutout to Vervaeke, one of my profs at uni! Great video as always
Metal Gear Solid 1 taught me how to live even without reason. How?....just choose to live
Seems pretty simple but maybe that's why it works and other complicated justifications and motivations don't
There doesn't have to be a reason for everything
@@the_expidition427 that's what im saying , we have to choose to live , reason or not
Love feeling a bottomless pit of anxiety before the algorithm scoops just the right stuff into my brain hole
it’s scary how this popped up when i was a on a walk thinking about being lost in life
Going tree plating for the first time this summer to be absorbed by dirt
very nice work
His timing never misses.
Can't even imagine anymore
I belive i have already watched a similar video like this that was also made by Sisiphus 55 before. Some lines sound the same and i do remember a video about frankl and another about resonance. Did this one combine the two perhaps ?
new sisyphus video! new sisyphus video!
MOM WAKE UP NEW SISUYPHUS 55 UPLOAD🗣🔥
your video is helpful thanks
I really liked the visuals in this video
Also I love you
thank you
Thank you
Thank you! I got it
This must be for me!
Ok this mf has to be psychic. How is it that he always has exactly the right video I need at any given time right when I need it
I want Sisyphus 55 to make an animated film using his stick figure art style and weird backgrounds kinda like Don Hertzfeldt's films.
Babe wake up, new sysiphus video just dropped
Just woke up to Christmas :3

Is this video a reupload?
" - Good morning, how much for a cup of meaning?
- That'll be an authentic smile for a warming childhood memory, please!
- Here you go, thank you!
- What you give is what you get, literally!"
ideas travel upwards
manners travel downwards
that's why even lower classes adopted the mannerism of "staying productive" as a version of "time being a precious ressource"
Never felt this. Make me your leader and I will never lead you
What music do you use? Its so relaxing!
Whats the genre?
How depressing to believe life has no meaning! Turn to the One who created you and find your destiny.
What if you cannot bring yourself to believe? What good is a faith that is built on fundament of lies?
@2minuss Most people understand the universe, and all that is in it is bigger than themselves and that science can not define everything. This is not based on lies this is truth. Then one wonders why and how and this is the beginning of faith - to understand we were created by an intelligent Designer.
Sometimes, I feel lost or alienated but othertimes I feel belonging on the fringe. Aliens all, we find here.
How I stopped feeling lost: by affirming, regardless of the modern rhetoric on the left, that my (natural) penis is NOT an adornment, and that my masculinity is NOT a surface level aesthetic aspect or ‘costume’ that I wear. It IS me.
6:23
Isn't this exactly the kind of mindset that creates alienation? The idea of wasted time, I mean
My brain is fried, I thought you said “the importance of meme-ing in life” at the beginning 💀 💀
One must imagine Sisyphus found
Hey, I was looking for your video on Mark Fisher, but I couldn't find it. Did you delete it? I found it really interesting
Me see Sisyphus55 thumbnail
Me click fast
Me happy
Every time I hear Vervaeke's name, I think of those two "Da Vinky??" goobers
Yup
one must imagine sisyphus found
mr sisyphus get out of my walls
I member this!
finally, the answer
i don’t do anything with my day, i get home from school and i sit on my phone, i don’t do work and i don’t strive to accomplish anything. i can’t go outside and experience things because i have no means of transportation and my parents are very restrictive on what i can do. i want to do more, but i can barely leave the house, i want to interact, but i feel lost.
Ah yes, the latest medicine for my existential crisis
Would it be possible to allow anxiety to pass, in a sense? Not to promote it but, to process it. To help get back to our natural mental/emotional state?
What is the practical difference (in this context) between tradition or other people telling him what😊 to do
Let me stop you there. The solution is LITERALLY money. Money enables us to live and experience, therefor we are not lost, we wander and explore. Exploration and learning leads to a more broader and happier mind.
In short, Money LITERALLY buys happiness.
always uploading at the right time
is this a reupload I swear, he's already uploaded something very similar to this
Bro is in my head I'm afraid
what do you think of faust's goethe
este es el fan de bariloche
why are we all so lost...
“The point of life is to pay taxes to fund overweight minorities healthcare” nah
i can never understand what these vids are really about. just a bunch of difficult words
Reupload?
I’m sure I’ve seen it before
Yea does anyone know if an old video got taken down? I'm certain I've seen him talk about the same stuff as well
Guys I really want to understand videos of sisyphus completely but sometimes Im lost in words and not able to understand the concept…wht to do can someone guide me to better understand all this..
Ask ChatGPT (or some other AI) if they can break it down simpler and more concise. I do this a lot with philosophy and symbology... Lol
Maybe reading philosphical works by yourself an dealing with them personally wil help too (:
