Why would my belt keep slipping off? Everything is tight and correct I think

oh man i feel dumb, i didn't even think to use a wrench to move that pulley forward. i replaced mine yesterday and i just removed the whole spring so i could get the belt on to the drive shaft lol.

in reality there should be a method to HOLD IT IN PLACE WITH NO HANDS with the pulley FULLY FORWARD. A simple tool with a locating pin would really really really be a groove man.

Great vid! Is it possible to put this belt on without taking off the desk?

The manual says to remove the deck. I think it would be tough to work it, but maybe not impossible!

@@danmenges1249 Me and my son ended up doing it with the deck on and only took us about 5 minutes. We used your video as a diagram it was very helpful thanks.

I'd like to make a small suggestion. a still shot for a minute of the belt diagram would be quite helpful. That's basically all you need to figure this out or an IQ of 300

Well that last move (getting the belt on the drive pulley) you skipped the moment you actually got it engaged, and there's the crux move! I'm right handed so pulling that belt on with the left hand somewhat back-handed is impossible. I ended up going thru the front and pulling with all my might to get the belt partially over the pulled then had to horse it something awful. It took me one hour just like Dan Thompson said below. Not fun, and I am NOT impressed with the goofball washers and goofball cotter pins that John Deere gouges me for that are as show but frankly DO NOT STAY ON.

Thanks for the comment, Silas. I was working over top of the camera and needed to get in a better position for more leverage. Mine wasn’t too difficult that I felt like I needed to explain or expand on that process. Sounds like yours was tougher.
