Home Free do an amazing job of this song! They can do any genre including R&B. Rob's voice has so much feeling & soul in it. Austin adding his higher tones, Chance harmonizing in the back, Tim adding some bass & Adam with his fabulous vocal percussion. These guys are my favorite a cappella group out there. All their songs are good whether it is serious, heart warming or funny. Shawn Stockman from Boyz II Men was one of the judges on the "Sing Off" that Home Free won & he was a big fan of these guys from the start. I'm sure he loved their version of this song.
The beatboxer is Adam Rupp, and he is a human sound machine. As you dive into more of their music you'll be totally amazed at what he can do. Since you're new to Home Free you might enjoy watching their performances on the televised singing competition "Sing Off". Those are all on UA-cam, I recommend watching with judges comments. They had already been a band for several years but it was having that television spot for them to become known across the country. Just search UA-cam for "Home Free Sing Off".
12:31 You need to check out one of Adam Rupp's drum solo videos on YT. He does about a 10-minute solo in each concert. Check out "Skull & Bones" for Adam Chance. He wrote it for the video game of the same name. He also sings bass when Tim sings lead. Also, try, "I Can't Outrun You".
Such a great rendition. When they were on the Sing Off (they won in 2013) Shawn Stockman of Boyz II Men was a judge and he loved them. Adam (beatboxer) was doing all the instruments. If you want to see Adam in action try Adam Rupp Drum Solo (2015). It’s older but it’s just Adam and a microphone and he does the drums and other sounds. It’s great! You’re not the only one to think Rob is the bass. Rob is a tenor, Austin (redhead) is the high tenor. Chance is the baritone/bass, Tim is the bass. Tim has a 5 octave range and can go extremely low. Enjoy more Home Free!!!
This one is wonderful! Rob was perfect for the lead. I love they do so many types of songs and put their on touch on them while also honoring them. Adam Rupp IS the drum machine. LoL. You should watch an "Adam Rupp's Drum Solo " video. Thanks for the Home Free reactions.
This is so very awesome. I am sure BOYZ II Men are very proud. Home Free always put their own twists on their covers. Adam Rupp makes all of those sounds with his mouth. The others can beat box to some degree. Love your reaction.
It's said that the group has a baritone, 2 basses (Chance was bass in his former group and goes low when Tim goes high), 5 tenors, and 5 beatboxers (see 9 to 5 + Beatboxing Breakdown, after you watch their 9 to 5 of course).
Home Free recently went through a member change. Austin Brown ( long wavy hair ) left in June and Adam Bastien stepped into his place. Home Free just released the first video with Adam B called Something To Talk About ( Bonnie Raitt cover ) Yes Adam Rupp their beatboxer does all the drums sounds vocally he does a drum / beatboxing solo in the middle of their concert. Tim Foust ( Bass 5 octave range ) he can and has blown out speakers at their concerts or sing with the tenors Adam Chance aka Chance ( Baritone/ Bass ) He did replace Chris Rupp in 2016. He sings bass when Tim has lead if you want to hear an original shanty written and sung lead by him check out Skull And Bones. Rob Lundquist is their tenor and an amazing whistler.
All the beat is coming from Adam Rupp, he is just that incredible. You need to check out his drum solo. Tim Foust is the bass, but Adam Chance does the bass in this one. Back right
This is Home Free's tip of the hat to Boyz II Men. Shawn Stockman was one of the judges when they were on The Sing-Off. Rob rises to the occasion. Tim (5+ octave range) sings that brief bass solo in this song but is singing a higher harmony line the rest of the time Adam Chance (aka Chance) is a baritone/bass (4 octave range) and often holds down the bass when Tim is singing lead or a higher harmony line. Chance is the one at the back on the right.
Austin is the High Tenor (reddish hair), Rob is a Tenor (full beard and glasses), Chance (baritone/bass), Tim (bass) and last but not least Adam Rupp founding member and beatboxer/vocal percussionist .
So YES!!! Adam Rupp is a machine! Verified!!! These guys -- had to see them/it (performance) for myself just to verify what I was seeing and hearing ....... And yeah -- even more better!!! Exceptionally Phenomenal - Phenomenally Exceptional !!! Be Safe
I've seen a handful of professional beatboxers reacting to Home Free and most of them have mentioned that Adam Rupp has the cleanest snares that they've ever heard.
There is no drum machine. When they are live they do however do livelooping with a looper station, to get all the layers. Rob is a tenor. While there are some tenors that sing alto, alto is the lowest female voice type Female types in order: soprano, mezzo soprano, alto (contralto) Male types in order: tenor (counter tenor), baritone, bass
If you like bass singers check out the a cappella group The Bass Gang. They're an amazing foursome that has been making fantastic videos for 5 or 6 years but only got physically together in one place about a year ago. The 2 from the US, Peter and Bobby, traveled to the Czech Republic to join with Tomi for the video Arabian Nights. Marwan wasn't able to leave Egypt so his part was filmed on desert sands for the start of a neat Alladin/Beauty and the Beast storyline in several videos. I discovered the group when Tim Foust, Home Free's bass voice, joined them for Hooked On a Feeling. You know, ooga chaka ooga ooga chaka. My joke: if you go through their videos, pick out the opera singer.
5:39 Did you happen to notice these guys are white boys? 😂 Of course they don't have that Mo-town sound! BTW....Rob won't ever do this on the stage, because he said his voice took several days to recover after this song was finally completed.
A drum machine? Such an insult. Watch the Adam Rupp drum solo. He is fantastic. If you haven't watched " Man of Constant Sorrow" do it soon because Adam does a different instrument that a lot of reactors ask is he hiding it.

It's all Adam! He's truly unbelievable at what he can do, the whole drum kit he swallowed !

I have seen and heard Skull and Bones.
Adam Rupp is the beatboxer... and yep, everything you hear is coming from him! He's a human drum kit! 😅

Yes, they use a drum machine. The machine's name is Adam Rupp lol
Great reaction - thanks!

I saw a PRO DJ´s reaction to Adams drumsolo and couldn´t stop laughing when he looked in his camera and said -- well there goes my job
The bass is Tim Foust, The beatboxer Adam Rupp,The gentleman with the beard is Rob,the guy in the back is Adam Chance, far right Austin Brown

YES ALL ADAM (BEAT BOXER)
You should rewatch the Sea Shanty Medley. Chance solos. He is a baritone/bass
Here's Adam Rupp the beatboxer doing a solo. You gotta check this out! Home Free: Drum Solo [SPM ST15]. Enjoy! Have a great day!

You should listen to Rob and Austin sing opera, Nessun Dorma. Two country singers try to sing opera.

To see a funny side of Home Free check out (The Butts Remix) sorry can't afford to send money
aka The Butts Medley
Don't worry about it, I understand completely. I will get to it, just might take me awhile.
